Updated Brackets HERE
Day 9: So here we are folks, it's the Start of Round 2! We saw in the final showdowns of round 1, on a quieter day successes for Battlestar Galactica, as it saw off the very populat CSI, as well as The X-Files and Alias smashing their way into Round 2, as well as Chuck grinding past the hugely popular How I Met Your Mother. We have our final 32 folks, this is it. It's starting to get serious. All the shows through now have had a lot of support over the past week, and they need it more than ever now. No show is safe. That's one thing that Round 1 taught us. So Vote, and send out the word every where you can, Facebook, IMDb, Twitter, SpoilerTV forums. Everywhere. The Best Show in your opinion needs it!In our first battle we have two comedies, one no longer on our screens, the other potentially facing its final year as Steve Carell claims it could be his last. Arrested Development vs. The Office. This is one of three Second Round matchups I guessed both sides correctly, that's how difficult this has been to predict. So let's get cracking. The other matchup today is Veronica Mars, the very popular Kristen Bell starrer which was cancelled quite surprisingly, and disappointly for many. A film could still be in the works, to wrap up all the storylines, but it's all up in the air. It's against Glee, the new juggernaught on Fox, which is stopping at nothing in it's attempt to take over the world of music and TV. Can it be stopped here? Veronica Mars earned more votes in Round 1 in it's respective battle, but it's a new day.

What a killer!
ReplyDeleteI love The Office TO DEATH.... But Arrested Development just has to win among comedies. I think I went with AR because of replay value. That show just never EVER gets old. Anyong.
Don't worry The Office will win this one with a great margin.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't bet either way. The Office has a better current appeal, but AD has a cult following, and cult followings seem to win in stuff like this.
ReplyDeleteI have stuff to do but i'll come back in half an hour and say "told you my friend" :)
ReplyDeleteAh damn, I voted for Arrested Development coz I thought it was The Office UK.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen much at all of the US series, but I know it's gone on for more seasons than the UK one, and I guess more seasons could have given them more time to make it better and different to the UK Office.
I still stick by my vote though.
Cult followings do not really win on these polls at all. Older shows amongst AD and others are not always the most favoured. Proof is in this poll result. People visiting this site have contemporary taste in television and said people constitute for a seemingly vast majority of poll voters, thus resulting in the better (imo) shows losing to things like Smallville and other newer shows. Though with that said, I do enjoy The Office, but A.D. is far better.
ReplyDeleteThe Office wishes it could be as funny as Arrested Development.
ReplyDeletethe office is by far better
ReplyDeletei love the office AND arrested development but i have to say that i believe AD deserves the win here. i think it might be the funniest show i've ever seen.
