Supernatural - A 6th Season of Supernatural Confirmed

Thanks to heroesfan4eva for the heads up on this article that confirms that there will be a 6th Season of Supernatural

FANS of the hit US TV show Supernatural can breathe a sigh of relief after stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles sensationally revealed that they would be returning for a sixth season.

Speculation had been rife that the show's creator, Erik Kripke, was going to stick to his original idea of creating a five-year-only story for the hugely successful ghost-hunting show.

As they hunt their way across America with only a classic car and some serious weaponry for company, this story of two monster-chasing brothers has seen snowballing popularity.

But, in Birmingham at the weekend for the show's European convention, Asylum 3, I spoke to both Jared and Jensen, who take joint leads in the show as demon-slaying brothers Sam and Dean Winchester. They confirmed that they had signed on the dotted line for season six.

  1. Heh. Jared and Jensen's CONTRACTS were originally for six years. From the answers they both gave, they were far from sure they'd be doing season six. Jared explicitly said that he only would if the story to be told was good. Yes, their contracts are for six years (while Kripke's is for five), but as per how it was in Birmingham, neither was certain how it would go.

(Well. Only thing certain was that Jared wouldn't do a season without Jensen, since that question he answered openly.)

  2. 1) Not so certain as all that.
    2) Not so sigh-of-relief-inducing. It depends on Kripke's involvement.

  3. My excitment over a sixth season will have everything to do with having the WHOLE Supernatural family on board.

If it's Kripke who sits around to help stretch his five year plan into two more seasons then I'll have faith. In any other case, I'll go in season 6 very very scared (and if history gets proven right, I'll probably end up disappointed, and I really don't want that).

So again, if S6 is a possible go I need Kripke to say he can pull it off and I'll need him around to do it. Otherwise let the show end on a high note with just five years under it's belt. It will be for the best....

  4. There is no confirmation of season 6. The original contracts Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki signed were for six years, while Eric Kripke's was for five years. CW heads are saying that it is a distinct possibility that season 5 isn't the last, but that is all. There is no confirmation beyond this.

  5. BRB LOL FOREVER.

I can't believe how freaking blown out of proportion Jared Padalecki's comment about a season six is in this article. That's not what he said, AT ALL.

  6. Well...this actually isn't saying there will be a season six. It's just saying that if they do decide to carry on the story, they will be in it. Honestly, I don't think they would do it if Kripke walked away after this next season. How often has a show been good after the original creator left? Yeah...rarely ever.

  7. I really hope, there's going to be a sixth season. I want as much Sam and Dean as I can get.
