I love Sheldon but if they ever hooked him up with anyone, I'm out. The fact that he's written as such an Asexual and a hardcore Aspie is what I love about him. Having some girl "fix" him would be ridiculous
I don't think that getting Penny and Sheldon together would be "fixing" Sheldon. I think it would be hilarious to watch Sheldon fall in love and attempt to cope and understand the strange, new feelings. I think that Penny as a romantic interest would help the show, not hinder it. Sheldon trying to be sexy....pretty damn funny!
Sheldon has never shown any desire to want to be sexy or fall in love. The fact that he doesn't understand normal social conventions and doesn't WANT to understand normal social conventions is kind of the point of his entire character. Speaking as someone who is and has known people with various degrees of autism spectrum disorders, many exactly like him, and they're not people who just "fall in love" in the traditional or the romantic sense. Because they just don't care about those things. And when they writers say they're intentionally writing him as such a character, I just can't ever see it happening.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
oh god, I just love Penny & Sheldon!!
ReplyDeleteSheldon and Penny are the best part of the Big Bang Theory, she should end up with him instead of Leonard :)
ReplyDelete^AMEN!!
