Hawkgirl - TV Series in Development at The CW Rumour *Updated*

21 Jun 2015

Update: 22nd June Looks like Ciara Renee is saying that this is not happening.

SpoilerTV has learned that The CW is planning a separate Hawkgirl TV series starring Ciara Renée. The project is currently in very early stages of development. If The CW decides to move forward with it, it will most likely bypass the pilot stage and get a straight to series order.

It is unclear if the series will be set before or after the events of The CW's upcoming TV series Legends of Tomorrow, which also stars Ciara Renée.

  1. So how will that work? I mean she probably will be very busy with Legends and not this, not to mention probably guest appearances in Arrow and Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Legends Of Tomorrow isn't a 23 episode series, nor will this one be probably, but still, yeah, it's a lot of work.

    ReplyDelete
  3. At some point The CW will just need to rename themselves DC TV. And that day will be glorious :D

    ReplyDelete
  4. I guess she will be part of the main cast during the 1st season of LOT, and then become a part of the reccuring cast once her own show starts.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Another one? I see a danger here. The CW could saturate its audience with superhero programs until everybody grows sick of them. Future generations might then look back upon the CW as the network that killed the genre of the live action superhero show.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Looks like in more or less two years there will be no CW show for me.

    ReplyDelete
  7. They just thinking ahead. From comments Stephen Amell made i dont think Arrow will go beyond season 6. God knows what will be happening to the Flash due to the Flash movie. And making a show about a female super hero is smart. Especially with a WOC as the lead.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Inception! Spin-off of a spin-off of a spin-off (plus motership Arrow).

And then overkill, I think that's enough, CW.

    ReplyDelete
  9. he said multiple times during his Q&As, how there is no way Arrow will last as long as Supernatural, and how his contract expires with season 6, implying it will be the last season.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Spinception!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm a bit surprised Hawkgirl is their choice, but Ciara is really sweet. This could be an interesting show with all her past lives tormenting her.
I just hope this isn't like the Atom spin off scenario and turns out to be Birds of Prey or something.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I know those. I thought maybe I missed something. To be honest I get this feeling that he's not very excited about season 4.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I dunno. The CW seems intent on milking the current superhero fad until the teat runs dry...so to speak.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think he has just too much on his mind and is a bit tired. He should be fine when he gets back into the Arrow machine. ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  15. I don't know Spin. He got a taste of what it's like to work on a big movie; and let's face it Arrow has been a downer in season 3, not to mention the horrible treatment it gets and the lack of attention it gets from the producers. He might not even go to SDCC. I understand that his schedule is very busy but I feel like there's something else. We keep saying that he's tired but he himself said he wasn't.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think they are staying as far away from BOP after that last disaster.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'd rather a White Canary spin off!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I don't think Stephen has a future in Film industry. I understand him, he has a family a small daughter and he misses a lot cause of his work. TMNT is a great gig and he'll cash in majorly but he didn't have a break, he had a week off when Arrow ended and went right away to shoot TMNT.
Overall I don't think Arrow will/ should pass season 7. There is just so much story they can tell. I think we shouldn't worry as the show will certainly fill up the 6 season contract.

    ReplyDelete
  19. This is becoming repetative and boring..

    ReplyDelete
  20. LoL I really hope so. That episode should be ashamed for having that title.
I would hope after Arrow they maybe go for a Blue Beetle show, but seems like they are keeping that for the big screen or something.

    ReplyDelete
  21. LoT starts shooting early August. With 16 eps they should shooting till March just in time for shooting a pilot if there will be one.

    ReplyDelete
  22. How about a The 100 spin-off? Not always from arrow and the flash

    ReplyDelete
  23. He only took one week off but he said the change in work environment was good. He travels a lot and takes his family to a lot of events. In a way he has more free time now than he does when filming Arrow.

I'm not worried I know Arrow will have at least 6 season. What I'm worried about is the decline in quality because of all those spinoffs, and the lack of passion and enthusiasm from the actors.

    ReplyDelete
  24. This makes me curious how LoT will work further along, past season 1. Will they use new heroes, replace the current ones etc etc.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I am so done with spinoffs. Enough is enough!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah all the emerging spin offs could hurt the show a bit. But I'm hoping they'll restart their story in S04 and come out fresh.
We'll have to wait and see. I didn't expect for VD to raise their level much after S05 but they truly reinvented themselves, and if the writers deliver in their department the actors and show should be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lol good one!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I tried to lower my expectations. I REALLY did, but season 4 sounds very promising and I have very high hopes for it. The fact that the fans, the actors and the reviews on the Internet were very vocal about the problems season 3 had gives me hope that the show will course-correct in season 4.

    ReplyDelete
  29. September, actually.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Even the Birds of Prey show tanked so i think they are really hesitant.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I dont think he will miss SDCC. At the end of the WB will pull their power and he will be there. Just like when CW insisted he be at Paley when he was first saying he isnt going.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I really hope so. I really do. We'll have to wait and see what they will prep up.
I'm so pissed we have no spoilers/news/casting calls that everyday I put up a mini rant in the open discussion thread. So annoyed. -.-

    ReplyDelete
  33. At this moment nothing would really surprise me, the way Berlanti productions started to go after this. But yeah without some major positive feedback they probably won't go there.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I thought Victor said August, but okay, still it will most likely end early and there will be space for doing a possible pilot.

    ReplyDelete
  35. You and me both. Actually you, me and Arrowshieldfan. The Disappointed Trio. We should get our own spinoff.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think Flash will have their casting announced before Arrow since they start shooting a few days before. Just check who the casting director follows. It gives you an inclination who will be announced. One of the reason i think they already cast Patty for Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I will watch this for sure, one of the best spin-off they could come up with. But i am not here for superhero to kill all other CW shows. They need to expand to Sundays or 10-11 hours.

    ReplyDelete
  38. http://www.spoilertv.com/2015/06/various-shows-production-dates.html

    ReplyDelete
  39. He wasn't going to Paley Fest and the CW made him? Really? I don't remember.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Another female superhero lead show? HELL YEAH!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yes he was saying he wont be at Paley for months. Then 1 week before he was listed among the people who were going. I think SDCC is an event that is actually in his contract and he has to do it. They only have Saturday this year anyway. And with the hiatus ending around the time SDCC, Arrow becomes priority. He will have to be there.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I hate that they force him and in the same time I'm glad lol

    ReplyDelete
  43. hahahahahahah! LoL. Get our SPIN off before they evict us from here cause we whine to much. ^^

    ReplyDelete
  44. They can't stop us from complaining about Arrow! It's our super power. We are promoting our show hahahahaha. Think of it as a sneak peek lol
"SPIN off" I see what you did there lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. I mean he is the face of Arrow and lets be honest the face of #Arrowverse. Even if the Flash has better ratings, Stephen is the one with the most presence, no offence to Grant.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thx for the clues. Now just be so kind and tell me who the casting director of the Flash is. ^^
I found Tara Perry's casting videos on vimeo and posted them in the Audition post. Was not really convinced.
The thing is they didn't even announce the casting calls for Arrow, The Flash came out 2 weeks ago. But maybe Greg and Andrew want to join the process so they are doing Flash first.

    ReplyDelete
  47. https://twitter.com/RapaportCasting/following

    ReplyDelete
  48. First, respect for using Arrowverse. Second, I agree. No one can deny Stephen's presence and charisma, especially in panels.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Nice, very much looking forward to it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. No one does like we do. ^^ We spin all the heads around.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thx I googled it in the meantime. Really didn't think something would came out when I google Flash casting director.
I saw his most recent follow and would dig her for the role. She was sweet in the other CW prequel spin off, just don't know how well she can do serious.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Eh? I was actually hoping they pick up Supergirl if CBS cancels it. I'm not familiar with her version of Hawkgirl. I only know of the alien one.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I really hope it turns out like the atom tv series where it became LOT, it would be great to have a birds of prey type tv series

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm never going to understand the idea of developing a spin-off for a character that hasn't even been seen in the mothership series yet (nor has the series itself even started for that matter). For all they know, everyone is going to hate Hawkgirl in LoT and have zero interest in a separate show about her (not saying it's gonna happen, but in theory it could). And here I thought the CW and DC jumped the gun last year by considering a Atom spinoff approximately 2.5 seconds after he was introduced on Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I think if Atom got the same reaction from fans the way Barry did then I think he would've been the main focus of spin-off. I think they're just testing which character is well received by fans.

    ReplyDelete
  56. This is too soon, even for me and i love these superhero shows. The CW still has 2 other shows to air: LOT and Vixen. Once we've seen them both then think about another spin off.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Vixen is a webseries, tho,

    ReplyDelete
  58. And what would that be about?

    ReplyDelete
  59. A spin-off for The 100 would be so cool, there's so much they could do. Grounder spin-off, a spin-off focusing on survivors elsewhere, a spin-off focusing on the war leading to the apocalypse, so many things!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm pretty sure they planned on an ATOM/Blue Beetle spinoff back in May/June. I think the whole reason they cast Brandon Routh was to capitalize on his name to get the spinoff picked up.

Problem was (IMO) Ray didn't catch on with fans, media or the network and that's why we got LoT. I'm convinced the whole point of the TCA event was to promote the (new) potential spinoff seeing as how 4 out of 8 series regulars were on the panel.

    ReplyDelete
  61. SGU answered the question!

    ReplyDelete
  62. That Would be awesome! I Would really like to see how the grounders ended up being there and what their backstory is!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I used to love The CW so much, this is so disappointing.

    ReplyDelete
  64. It's becoming the DCW by this point.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Legends of Tomorrow isn't an anthology right? It's a FULL series?

    ReplyDelete
  66. That would be a bit too much in my opinion. And it might have a negative impact on the quality of the other shows.

    ReplyDelete
  67. It does sound cool. The only problem is if CW executives will allow it since the parent show is only getting 0.5 ratings. I was thinking maybe they could show more mutated creatures. I remember getting a Resident Evil vibe from the scene where Clarke was inside the white room in MW.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm going with Stephen pulling a Nina Dobrev and having told Greg and Marc that he will NOT be resigning once his contract is up in 2018/2019 as he wans to do other things with his career like become a HUGE movie star. So that gives us 6 or 7 seasons of Arrow,

    ReplyDelete
  69. I wonder if this is in regards to a upcoming web series during the summer instead of another spin-off. What is the 'source' of this story ... if I may ask ?

    ReplyDelete
  70. The situation is different though. There is nowhere who can replace him. In TVD you had 3 actors who were the leads. Here you have only Stephen.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Or a Rebekah ( Claire ... or ... Maisie ) and Kol ( possibly even Marcel ) spin-off based in LA ( shoots there too ) so Claire can still be where she feels she wants to be.

    ReplyDelete
  72. It's still another show

    ReplyDelete
  73. Point is still he has a contract til 2018/2019 and he may already have decided( mapped out his career ) season six or seven is it for him.
After that it's up to the CW to end it or keep it going with the rest of the cast or not.
Who knows maybe after season seven Oliver's now 17 or 18 year old son Connor will take over the reins as Arrow 2.0 .
( sadly this may mean Oliver dies and Felicity, Diggle, Laurel, Thea stay on to help guide his son ... or ... happily Oliver and Felicity final ride off into the sunset well Aunt Thea, and mentors Diggle and Laurel aid Connor )

    ReplyDelete
  74. well why dont we just name DCW and get it over with ??

    ReplyDelete
  75. Are 'we' 100 % sure it would be with Ciara Renée and NOT another actress playing one of her past lives in another body ?

    ReplyDelete
  76. LMAO ... I'm in !!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah, i get that, but even with the kind of shooting schedule, she will have to have some kind of break from all this, not to mention all the conventions and other stuff that follows with Comic book series.

    ReplyDelete
  78. If 17 or 18 year old Connor Hawke takes over for his father Oliver during the 7th/8th season of Arrow ... who would you like to see play him ?
( think actors who will be 21/22 in 2018/2019 )

    ReplyDelete
  79. Well at least this time Arrow won't have to give up screen time to introduce another spin off character.

    ReplyDelete
  80. There's a saying-Too much of anything is never good.CW should learn something from this.

    ReplyDelete
  81. You're thinking Shiera instead of Kendra? but she literally reincarnates into a new body, so why put the actresses name?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Superhero-oversaturation at the CW continues.

I don't mind a batch of superhero shows but with Hawkgirl added to the mix we would have 5 superhero themed shows on theCW. Plus we're not even familiar with this version of Hawkgirl. She could be hit or miss.

Plus if LOT gets a second season (wich I would say is pretty likely) the idea of one particular character leaving already is pretty uncomfortable. Especially before the season even premieres. How are we even supposed to create a connection to a character we know is ment to leave after season 1?

    ReplyDelete
  83. How about "the more the merrier"?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Who knows maybe that is the plan. Maybe they are planning to spin-off Hawkgirl and White Canary together but aren't ready to drop that half ( Caity's leaving too ) of the bomb yet.

    ReplyDelete
  85. How about don't bit off more than you can chew!!! smh

    ReplyDelete
  86. I second that.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Pass to all of them.

    ReplyDelete
  88. It's Ciara Renée.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I knew this was coming for awhile. smh

    ReplyDelete
  90. If we were able to share the source, we would have listed it in the article.

    ReplyDelete
  91. This is getting a bit ridiculous now....

    ReplyDelete
  92. lmaoooo that was a good one.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Three spinoffs of 1 show! One of them is a spinoff of a spinoff that hasn't even aired yet. This is beyond ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Which is why if you are Pedowitz you call Amell and tell him Arrow is only doing 22 episodes a season from now on.

    ReplyDelete
  95. "And here i thought the CW and DC jumped the gun last year by considering a Atom spinoff approximately 2.5 seonds after he was introduced on Arrow."

Me too. Still do. And when they talked about picking up Constantine, and when they talked of wanting to crossover Supergirl (from a different freaking network mind you), now this before the character is introduced. smh. If they go along with this...i have no words. You know how many crossovers that''ll be?? I shouldn't have to watch 4 shows just to enjoy some crossovers. That's just too much.

    ReplyDelete
  96. ahhhhh
    So a inside source.
    hmmmmm
    Ciara Renée herself maybe ?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Look up to what i just said to Alex.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I watch Arrow/The Flash, both well made, entertaining shows, which is a nice balance to a lot of the more serious cable dramas that I watch. I was already on the fence about LOT, which I would have watched if the plan was to timeshare with Arrow, but I dont know if I have the time or inclination to watch 3 comic book superhero shows on the CW per week, let alone a fourth in Hawkgirl.

    ReplyDelete
  99. lol
Who would you cast as a 17/18 year old Connor ?
    ( think 20/22 year old actor in 2018 )

    ReplyDelete
  100. Unbelievable. I truly think that The CW will go defunct in favor of DC/WB.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Unless The CW expands their business model to 10PM or Sundays or are willing to try this one over the summer, I just don't know where they are going to fit all of that.

Is it possible that sometime in the future, regular season will be just DC and everything else airs in the summer? It's looking like a possibility now. If this gets made, the network will have 4 hours of DC programming out of the 10 they have during the weekdays, almost half of the schedule.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I don't see how since they said the actress' name and not just the character, it'd be awesome though.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Remember when Arrow was a realistic show about a guy who went through five years of hell and became a hero who uses a bow and arrows and martial arts to take down criminals? Now the universe has water that brings people back from the dead, metahumans, time travelers, supersuits, aliens and people with past lives hunting them. Why does Oliver even bother? If there's a criminal in Starling all he has to do is call one of those superheroes to take care of the problem in 10 seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  106. sigh...next they'll do a Firestorm spinoff. And probably take Caitlin. = /

    ReplyDelete
  107. Well fortunately they CAN bite what they chew, especially with Berlanti at the helm.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I wonder if some of the Arrow characters like Laurel aka Black Canary and Thea aka Speedy/Red Arrow might end up joining the cast of Legends of Tomorrow if Arrow ends it's run after season six/seven once Stephen's contract ends in 2018 and he isn't replaced by Connor.

    ReplyDelete
  109. At this point I wouldn't be surprised. But do you think we would be able to find a room that contains the producers' egos? And which show would be the next step-child?

    ReplyDelete
  110. No, they can't. LOL Do you not see the negativity on this annoucement already? They'll end up losing fans...IF this goes through.

    ReplyDelete
  111. As a comic fan i cannot agree with this whole comment. Sorry. = (

    ReplyDelete
  112. How bout the grand canyon? I'm sure their fat heads would fit in there nice and tight.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Here a couple of thoughts that come to mind how things could go down regarding a Hawkgirl 'spin-off:
    a) In a surprising twist of fate ... Kendra dies in the pilot of Legends of Tomorrow saving everyone and is then is reincarnated sometime in the future the Legends / Arrow / The Flash aren't in.
    or
    b) Well traveling through time Rip and the Legends alter / screw up something in the timeline that sadly wipes Kendra aka Hawkgirl from the 'team' existence ... but ... she ends up being reincarnated as another version of Hawkgirl sometime in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  114. You know as much as I enjoy most of Berlanti's shows, he's not that savior everyone makes him out to be. He's not that involved in the shows. He starts them and then remotely keep up with what's going on and only pitch ideas every now and then. (Yes I am still angry he showed up in the Flash season 2 teaser but not in Arrow's season 4 teaser)

    ReplyDelete
  115. I hope not but you're right, we don't even know Kendra let alone know if we'll like her. So this is a HUGE gamble. but this fan is staying loyal and i'm betting on it.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I know and I have nothing against all those things. I have a problem with them being in the Arrowverse. Oliver should be the best hero in his show (and universe) not overshadowed by all those superpowers. The show was built on realism so there are some comic book aspects that can't translate into the show, the canary cry for example.

    ReplyDelete
  117. omg THIS! It's like he speed dates with shows. He'll talk to a "girl" for 8 minutes, then once his bell rings, he's onto the next one. And the end result is gathering "all the girls phone numbers" trying to keep up with every one, only by phoning in every once in awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Hahahahaha so true.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Yeah, we don't, and that's half the issue. But go for it.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Hahaha, i actually like that analogy. It just popped up, think i'll pat myself on the back for that one. hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  121. Loyal to what?? You don't even know the character.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Not her, the universe that's being created, i still wish it was Shiera joining the TV Universe instead of Kendra.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Go for it. It's very accurate lol

    ReplyDelete
  124. I will and i'm saddened that people don't believe.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Wait so he's like Abrams? huh now i'm a little sad.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Ahh, i see what you mean now. Gotcha.

    ReplyDelete
  127. That would be Shiera and i don't think they want Shiera Hall on TV yet.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Surely you understand why, no?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  130. Hopefully like the Flash they don't shy away from the ABSOLUTE INSANITY that is the Hawks, quite possibly the most convoluted characters in the DCU.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I think I have officially hit my comic-based superhero TV series saturation level....
    Meh.

    ReplyDelete
  132. YEAAAAAAH <3 MORE DC ON CW. i will watch.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I swear I was going to say he's like JJ Abrams. But in all fairness Berlanti is still somehow involved in the shows while Abrams just leaves after a season or 2 max.

    ReplyDelete
  134. ´´ that's enough, CW.´´ shut up.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Maybe I should reserve a place for you in the Grand Canyon lol

    ReplyDelete
  136. hahahahahah my head isnt that big, a barrel would do. = p

    ReplyDelete
  137. Exactly. And IF LoT premiered and did well in the ratings, and everyone loved Hawkgirl, and there was additional story to tell about her that would make sense as the basis for a separate series... I could understand considering that possibility, even if they'd still be risking oversaturation. But this, looking into spinning the third series off into a fourth before it's even freaking started? They're coming off like a kid in a candy store: "Hey, let's do ANOTHER one! And another..."

    ReplyDelete
  138. That's good to know. One barrel coming right up hahahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  139. Is Hawkman going to be apart of this spin-off I wonder.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I certainly don't feel that way in this scenario.Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  141. From teen soaps to endless superhero's . Ugh. CW doesn't know then to stop and going from one extreme to another. Talking about network prone to addiction.
Oversaturation it is. Thanks, but no, thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Exactly how i feel.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Hahahaha. Don't forget my Woody doll, I need a friend. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  144. Alrighty, partner ;)

    ReplyDelete
  145. Wondering how fast superheroes will go out of fashion, like vampires. Another 5 years? So it may be enough time to cash out some profit from spinoff of spinoff that hasn't even aired yet.
And this people could not come up with a single spinoff for SPN in 11 years. May be they have to make Winchesters fly or climb skyscraper walls. I hope not.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Mmmmhmmm!!!! "They're coming off like a kid in a candy store." They already have a big tooth ache, with Hawkgirl they'll need a root canal and a crown. smmfh

    ReplyDelete

I think the object is to have superhero programs at CW throughout the year.

    ReplyDelete
  148. CW is completely overdoing it on the comic book shows to the point that it's getting into eye roll territory. Hawkgirl isn't popular enough for her own show and it will just over saturate the already flooded market further.

    ReplyDelete
  149. The object is to crash and burn the network as quick as possible. CW did it with teen girl soaps, they will do it with comic book shows now. The only way networks effectively function is with a wide spectrum of shows appealing to different audiences. CW has never figured that out and that's why their ratings as a whole continually struggles.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I'm still hoping for theCW to get a grip on reality asap. I love that they embraced genre shows but the way they're overdoing it now is only going to benefit their demise.

    Why not introduce genre nights: Superhero-Monday, Mystery-Tuesday, Drama-Wednesday, Comedy-Thursday, Sci-Fi-Friday.
    That'd be a good balance

    ReplyDelete
  151. Now I want to watch Toy Story. Lol (It's my fav Pixar movie)

  152. Lol nope that wont work. And EPs already dismissed it by saying the show will go on as long as Stephen wants it.

    ReplyDelete
  153. What happened to the SPN spin-off they said were in talks/development after the 1st one flopped?LOL!

ive been saying the same-they need variety/diversity vin shows and recently I said they were going to go overboard with comic book superhero shows.Honestly with around 8 scripted shows I think three or four shows like this are enough-Flash,Arrow,Legends

I'm still on board with Marvel, but DC is trying to hard.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Point is Stephen likely wants out when his contract is up so either we get six/seven season of Arrow and it ends or they keep it going with Connor ... or ... even Thea taking the helm.

  157. I think if Hawkgirl serves as short hiatus show (8-10 episodes) it would be fine. We're going into "Legends of Tomorrow" with many characters already established. We know the general origin stories for Sara Lance, Ray Palmer, Martin Stein, Leonard Snart, Heatwave, etc. We don't have hers, Rip Hunter, or the unnamed hero played by Franz Drameh. If the CW wanted to explore her origin story in a short mini-series-esque way I could understand that.

I think "Legends" might be a bit action-heavy versus character origins so I could understand this. If the intention is to do 5-6 seasons then it might be too far.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Hawkgirl won't be part of that specific team after the first season, maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  159. This will probably air on CW seed and is an animated series.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I've been calling for this ever since Arrow announced a Flash spin-off. CW's shows are basically dying, and the network's strongest suits have been DC television. Why not make the network all about one shared universe? That would be new territory for DC and CBTV as a whole. And especially right after the rumored status of Marvel trying to do the same...DC could get to that level first.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Well that would be disappointing, but i think that is the only way that this would work out properly without being extremely hard schedule on her.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I don't see how Arrow can live past a fifth season, tbh, once the flashbacks end. I can't imagine an entire season without flashbacks of Ollie's life.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Should being excited for an upcoming season mean being excited for a number of future seasons, though? He may know something we don't of how season four and five connects or what not too.

    ReplyDelete
  164. That's because the secret of SPN longevity is its cast. I don't see it being successfully spin off in I think they know. Maybe they can have a show inspired by it with it's own rules. In besides SPN is running out of steam, I think if they was going to give it it's best shot to see they should of done it years ago.

But I agree with you on the Over-saturation it's to much in repetitive. How about they take the time in actually develop a show instead of another spin off of another.

    ReplyDelete
  165. IMO the name CW now stands for Comic World.

    ReplyDelete
  166. I never could get into AoS or Agent Carter, but I'm still looking forward to the Marvel's Hell's Kitchen series on Netflix for sure.... And I still enjoy Arrow and Flash on DC...

I think that's my limit for superhero shows, but I will try Legends of Tomorrow if for no other reason the crossover factor. I will need to be very, VERY impressed by trailers and critic's reviews to even check out a pilot for another CW/ DC series!

    ReplyDelete
  167. I remember one video of Stephen saying something like "We are thinking about the plots for Season 4 and 5 and POSSIBLY a Season 6, but I don't think it'll go/it can go beyond that"

    ReplyDelete
  168. Damn can they slow it down with the spinoffs lol.

    ReplyDelete
  169. I'm okay with a show being based on a comic book but yeah Enough with superhero shows lol.

    ReplyDelete
  170. I'm good and there's not really any evidence that'll led to their demise. On the country superhero dramas on basically it's best performing stuff, and besides The 100 the most acclaimed.

    ReplyDelete
  171. DC is trying hard? The Defenders, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Shield, Agent Carter Marvel is trying just as hard.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Right. Dude ratings say otherwise. The superhero shows do the best. Diversification is good, but in terms of ratings superhero stuff does well for the CW.

    ReplyDelete
  173. We have four. iZombie is comic based, and is more mystery procedural.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Shannon in this case I think Ivan will be fine. I will be.

    ReplyDelete
  175. ..for now.90210 & Gossip Girl also did "well" in their time.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Then 90210 fell and Gossip Girl and both were horribly received. Unlike the superhero stuff which is both well received and for the CW well rated.

    ReplyDelete
  177. They are doing well but only for now, there was a time The CW was all teen soaps and they did very well only to eventually come crashing down. Then they got a reputation of having these soapy shows and still struggle to be rid of it.

    ReplyDelete
  178. So you think turning the entire network into superhero shows is a good idea?

    ReplyDelete
  179. Right except this is a different genre and is much more lucrative and demographically larger and more varied. It's not just mainly teenage girls.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Arrow, Flash, LoT, Hawkgirl, Vixen

    ReplyDelete
  181. No that's not what I'm saying. I'm merely pointing out that arguing that creating another hero show is a bad idea, based on evidence is unproven and untrue from what's been seen so far. And it is in fact the opposite. Of course a full superhero network wouldn't be great. But they're not doing that.

    ReplyDelete
  182. None of that matters, the 'in thing' is always changing, and it always will, besides, outside The CW (and possibly Netflix) superhero shows aren't really doing that well.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Vixen's online Mac and animated. Doesn't really count as it'll never air on TV nor be considered a part of this verse directly in Iive-action.

    ReplyDelete
  184. I thought the same thing after reading this news

    ReplyDelete
  185. That's because outside of those two networks or services there are none. Gotham isn't a superheo show (nor well done), and Shield and Carter aren't either (they're well done, but Shield isn't doing well because it started off poorly and was really slow and people just stopped watching and never came back).

    ReplyDelete
  186. Cool. But please let this be the last arrowverse (or is it Flarromorrawkverse) show for a while.
