  1. I knew it! SEETHE HATERS. SEETHE.

    ReplyDelete
  2. these might be the best news i've heard all week

    ReplyDelete
  3. Skye and Lincoln getting involved sounds fun. And Coulson and Hunter still working together. But with Ward? Still hoping it's a play by Coulson but doesn't seem likely. Not sure about this.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Dichen Lachman in the guest cast in three episodes in a row? Skye's mother is totally alive, mark my words!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I knew it lmao and Skye's mom is definitely alive that crazy theory wasn't that crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I need to write my speculation fic about this, tbh, preferably before tomorrow's episode.

    ReplyDelete
  7. this SHIELD and 'real' SHIELD conflict is boring as hell.. sadly

    ReplyDelete
  8. If it isn't a play by Coulson I'm going to be disappointed in the writers to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  9. And notice, they are seaking for Ward, not that he's offering help! I really wanna see how they will make this happen!

    ReplyDelete
  10. As long as Grant doesn't try to contact/see Skye then I'm all for Coulson and Lance teaming up with him. Please don't screw this up writers. Please. And I love the theory that Jiaying is still alive! It's a possibility and that would be all kinds of awesome as I love her character so much.

    ReplyDelete
  11. It's not hard, to be honest. She lived through 1944 to 1989 without aging a single day and experiments on her body managed to rejuvenate Whitehall, there's only one power in the comics that works like that, it's called Healing Factor and it's what made Wolverine virtually immortal with the appearance of a 40-50 years old when he's really much older than that.

    ReplyDelete
  12. If it's the vehicle to bring back Ward then yeah my level of interest in it is going to drop mssively.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I knew this would happen!

    ReplyDelete
  14. It would be really bad if they went for flashback's for three full episodes. Though if she is that's going to change Skye's character completely (though why have Lincoln as her metor instead of her then?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Of course they were gonna do that. SOOOOOO predictable.

    ReplyDelete
  16. She has to be the one leading the inhumans. There are no new cast members to the show adn we know Gordon isn't the lead. Who else could it be? It's good if she still alive but this will raise so many more questions. Like why she never look for Skye or wait it out to get her to the inhumans.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 18:38

the interesting thing is seeing how both skye and lincoln are brought into this war also

    ReplyDelete
  18. Seems like Ward won't be contacting Skye anytime soon, given his remarks recently. I'm not sure it seems ok from a writing standpoint having Ward team up with Coulson in anyway yet. But so long as he never re-joins the team and ends up an anti-hero Id go with it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sounds like a title more suitable for Glee.

    Good job, AoS :/

    ReplyDelete
  20. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 18:39

but to be honest its not shocking really cause they were trying to shoot her at the end of episode 15

    ReplyDelete
  21. José Ignacio Suárez Armas6 April 2015 at 18:39

No but I thought they stated a while back when they announced Lincoln's character that he was the lead of this Inhuman faction.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm so glad to see Maya Stojan listed here.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Interesting. I really want Skye's mom to be alive. I'm starting to think it really is possible.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't remember that. Lincoln character description was very simple. Not sure why he would lead instead of Gordon. I guess we will have to wait and see but her mom being in 3 episode in a row is a biggest indication she might not be really dead.

    ReplyDelete
  25. RememberSekhmet6 April 2015 at 18:42

Holy flipping CRAP! Dr List! Von Strucker's right-hand man! He's in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, it will also play right into Other Shield's view of Coulson. He's turned to a known killer and Hydra member in order to fight them. Yeah that's going to convince them that he's the right guy to lead Shield. Hell Bobbi right now is more trustworthy than Ward will ever be. May also swing Jemma's view as well.

    ReplyDelete
  27. To me, this seems to suggest that Fitz may have quit Shield altogether. There's no mention of him having joined Coulson and Hunter and I can't see him agreeing to work with Ward ever.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Greice Moreira6 April 2015 at 18:47

Wow I wonder what Fitz will think about it. And I love how Skye and Lincoln are drawn to the conflict between the factions, as it implies even Skye didn't have intention to get involved. Which is a surprise considering her relationship with Coulson. But I think she needs to build new alliances with the Inhumans, this is her real group, and they don't mingle with the human world. But I'm sure once she controlled her powers she will come to Coulson side. I wish in the end both Shields join to form one Shield.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 18:47

he still listed as a agent though so idk have to wait and see

    ReplyDelete
  30. Maybe we see tonight that he isn't left go? It's just interesting to me that it's th two we know are still out that are doing this.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It does open up huge questions alright, like for example why show us the bit in 2.11 where she's talking about being lost and then not have her do anything about Skye. Though there's still the question why Gordon didn't tell Skye about her in the Cabin.

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is pretty much my view. If he ends up back on the team by the end of te season I think the writers will have blown it, and I'd be dissapointed in the whole arc to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Congratulations, AOS. You've just completely trashed Coulson's character. Great job.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Butterfly_fairy6 April 2015 at 18:54

I don't expect coulson and ward to trust or like each other in this team up tho should be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  35. OMG. YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! Ward and Coulson team up. I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!
I can't wait. IT WILL BE EPIC. I'm so happy right now, you can't imagine how much.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Does kind of make the whole speech at his cell pointless doesn't it. "you'll never be on my team!" 10 episodes later "hey Ward about that whole team thing!"

    ReplyDelete
  37. In her defense, Skye was pretty well hidden by the agents that rescued her from HYDRA as a baby, it took Raina striking a frenemy relationship with Coulson and his team for Cal to remotely finding out his daughter's whereabouts.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Everyone (except Coulson which boggles my mind) on the team doesn't want to work with Ward. He's betrayed everyone in the entire team. It's way too soon for this. Ugh, I'm so wary about this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 18:56

i be more interested in why lincoln is drawn into this war i know why skye is drawn in though

    ReplyDelete
  40. This series has discredited Coulson from day one.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Historical_Materialist6 April 2015 at 18:56

I know right?! Henry Goodman as Dr. List!

I get why people like Dichen Lachman but that's the least important part of this press release.

This means (and i'm speculating) that Ward will lead Coulson and Hunter to uncover Baron Strucker's secret base. Coulson will see it's importance and call in the Avengers who the following week on May 1st (in North America, the next day April 22 in other parts) will take down HYDRA.

HYDRA's defeat will solidify Coulson's standing and establish him as the proper head of the newly reestablished SHIELD.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Unless he's just following Skye. We'll have to see how that relationship develops. (I'd love if Lincoln does turn out to be a love interest just to see the reaction.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ward said it "I'm hard to replace"

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hadn't thought of that at all but it would be an epic way to tie the two into each other alright.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 18:57

you would think skye would of been drawn in anyways cause of coulson

    ReplyDelete
  46. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 18:58

this is just speculation at this point though

    ReplyDelete
  47. Stephanie Press6 April 2015 at 18:58

The Inhumans want to stay hidden. She might not have a choice and she has to persuade them to help Coulson.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Jus replace all the team members he's going to cause issues with (Jemma and Fitz have clearly stated their positions)

    ReplyDelete
  49. The fact that Dichen is here as Jiaying gives me life.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Who knows how she's taking the whole Shield trying to kill her bit. We know that she already has fears about this.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:00

yes this is a big issue for jemma and fitz idk where they will stand on this

    ReplyDelete
  52. Stephanie Press6 April 2015 at 19:00

Or Coulson is playing Ward like he did Bakshi and wants to get to the new head of HYDRA. Coulson's going to be looking pretty desperate, it would be the perfect time.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I can just imagine Other Shield's response if she has control of her powers when she returns.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Stephanie Press6 April 2015 at 19:01

Gordon kidnaps Cal for "making too much noise." My guess is Skye is going to be like her mom and convince the Inhumans to help humans (SHIELD).

    ReplyDelete
  55. well, unless they flip Jemma again, her "I'll kill you!" is pretty clear, like I siad finding out Coulson has gone this route might kick her over to the other Shield completely. Fitz I just can't see being OK with Ward.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Putting that way OMG I didn't think of that, now I've mixed feelings.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:03

good point but we have to wait and see

    ReplyDelete
  58. I don't remember her mom wanting to help Humans, and her death (if she is dead) would be a big counter weight against involvement.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:04

maybe but at the same time they did protect skye all this time

    ReplyDelete
  60. HA!!! We have been saying this for MONTHS!!! I hope Coulson BEGS for Ward's help! Phil 'everyone-deserves-a-2nd-chance-oh-wait-except-Ward' Coulson! They better make this EPIC. We've not seen Ward for HALF the Season and people are royally pissed off. I can't wait to see Ward come back in and kick major ass! (And FINALLY see Coulson check himself and his damn ego)

    ReplyDelete
  61. True, but then again I didn't claim it to be anything more than that. I was just pointing out that it could easily be explained based simply on what we already know.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Without knowing what she was. If they had it's not a huge stretch to suggest Shield's handling of Skye would have been compeletly different and Skye knows that. We have no idea how much intel the Inhumans have about what Shield has done/doing (also Skye might have to explain that it was Hydra agents not Shield that were responsible.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:06

i get what your saying but i still think its some type of flash back or voice recordings

    ReplyDelete
  64. that would be the only way to void radically changing Skye's character I would say, but 3 episodes with flashbacks seems a bit much to me. There would have to be a compelling reason for that. I suppose we find out tomorrow. Shouldn't the second sneak peek be up today as well?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:08

well if you remember in season 1 episode 12 that agent they went to talk to about skye past he did say she was the 084 so they did know that much so to say they were completly in the dark is not right

    ReplyDelete
  66. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:09

yes hopefully next hour or two hours

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah but then even Shield lot her as the other agent deleted her files, as Coulson said not even Shield had anything on her. That suggests to me that other than the program moving her in childcare, Shield had no active knowledge of her existence not too mention her 084 status. If there was they would have to explain how Hydra didn't know about her (and we'd have to assume Whitehall would have continued hunting her if Hydra knew she was in the Foster system)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Cheers, I can never remember when they come out, wish they didn't leave it till the night before.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Greice Moreira6 April 2015 at 19:12

I wonder if they would help though since it goes so against their culture. I'm sure Skye will help, but I wonder if they would make her choose between Coulson or them since she is endangering their secret. I think she can get Lincoln to help though since he is her mentor and she is gonna do it anyway, but if she decides to rejoin Shield, he would probably not stay unless he falls for her.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yeah, I'm unsure of this episode too. I guess Coulson is really desperate. It was inevitable that Ward would be involved in this somehow. Otherwise, what's the point of his character?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yes, lets instead see the unrepent killer still kill, along with a whole team being asked to gloss over what he's done. Compelling view it will not be.

    ReplyDelete
  72. It's a plot move to incorporate a character that has become increasingly trivial to the main story arc. Coulson could have called in any number of agents - Clint, Natasha, Sharon - instead its *Ward*.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:14

you bring up some valid points but i can't seeing her completely leaving coulson i figure she would pop back in eventually

    ReplyDelete
  74. It's a move to appease the Ward fans. Like you said there are other options (I think it would be cool if we saw Sharon on AoS to be honest)

    ReplyDelete
  75. Total character assassination happening here. Good job, writers, good job. *shakes head*

    ReplyDelete
  76. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:15

this doesn't even bring up the fact that simmons and fitz will be so pisted off about them turning to ward

    ReplyDelete
  77. Pretty much, I can't see anyway they craft the story to not make this look as bad as I think it's going to be.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I agree. So dreading this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  79. He would deserve a second chance if he showed any remorse of his action, but last I checked he was still killing innocent people.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Emily is on the same network, it would be so easy to bring her over for an episode. I don't think it's even a move to appease Ward fans. They're just stuck with this character that has no use and they've decided to do *this*. It'll be interesting to see the ratings tank for this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  81. P.S: Also shaking my head at all these Ward (got abused so his actions are justifiable) supporters gloating.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'd even bet May will have issues with Coulson turning to Ward. She;s made her view on him clear as well.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I've not actually seen any point to his character this season to be honest. He could have easily not been onscreen, and I would not have noticed. He's not really had much of a story really. The most he's done is provide info on hydra, and they never started his redemption arc, if they were going to do that here. Everything with Whitehall or his brother was not really significant in that direction.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Going by this logic, I suppose you also believe Thor was also character assassinated in The Dark World, since he did pretty much the same thing Coulson will do in this episode. Loki is, after all, just as much a betrayer and a murderer as Ward is.

    ReplyDelete
  85. This, if his arc had time and change of character it might be something (ie something in the third season). But this, too soon, too unreformed.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Yeah, I know it was going to be inevitable but at least wait till season 3 to at least even have contact with Coulson and the team. And plus, why Ward out of all people? I'm sure there's other agents that would gladly help out Coulson (Agent 13 for example or Maria Hill). Also, the writers were teasing so much about Ward's storyline of going off on the run, with his own missions and stuff. That only lasted about one episode. Seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yeah, I haven't watched any Marvel films except the Avengers.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Particularly as he can be blamed for Skye's transformation as well.

    ReplyDelete
  89. And where the hell is Maria Hill? Can't Coulson call her. I thought she was supposed to return this season.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Totally agree. I guess, if these isn't some ploy by Coulson, Ward will have redeemed himself by the end of this end *shaking my head a bunch more times*.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yeh that would make much more sense, particularly as she could give the full rundown on what Gonzales most likely has.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Haha, figures. In a nutshell, desperate times called for desperate measures, it's what motivated Thor to seek Loki's help and it's certain to be what'll motivate Coulson to do the same with Ward. Doesn't mean Thor wasn't wary of betrayal and neither will Coulson, with the latter having the advantage of Ward not having nearly the same resources as Loki to pull an act similar to what the latter did.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:27

well when your desperate to get your organization back have to turn to something

    ReplyDelete
  94. Except Coulson does have the potential to reach for others (Hill who most likely knows how to reach Fury for example). He doesn't have to turn to Ward, turning to him may cost him other members of his team and will rightly solidify Other Shields view about him and his leadership.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Historical_Materialist6 April 2015 at 19:29

Who do you think Coulson's going to call when Ward helps him find Baron Strucker's secret base? He's going to call Maria Hill, who will turn around and say:"hey Cap you're going to want to hear this..." ..... what happens next? You're going to have to buy a movie ticket to find out.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Yes, you should turn to the evil murderer who killed a bunch of innocent SHIELD agents and other people and almost killed two members of your own team because that makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  97. It will be interesting alright to see how this and the following episodes are viewed.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:31

hey thor turn to loki in dark world how is that any different

    ReplyDelete
  99. Coulson' gonna use Ward and then hand him over to Talbot.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Agreed. I'd like to see Maria Hill or Fury help Coulson.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Thor is not Couslon, that's how it's different.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:34

that is a good theory and i can actually see that happening

    ReplyDelete
  103. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:35

it don't matter he still turn to a guy who had done the same type of things as coulson

    ReplyDelete
  104. This argument could also be made for Tony Stark in "Iron Man 3" and Steve Rogers in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", you know. You'll get the same real answer every time: there wouldn't be any entertainment value if it was simply a case of calling your powerful friends to help with your problems, AKA a Deus ex machina solution.
But don't worry, we're all likely to get an in-universe explanation.

    ReplyDelete
  105. To me this seems to have made the entire Ward story arc kind of pointless to be honest. He hasn't changed from the Hydra killer of Seasn 1 and yet may be back on the team. What was the point then, Fitz could have been injured be another Hydra agent, Ward could have confronted his brother as a Shield agent and Skye could have been captured by Whitehall anyway. Why have the whole fallen agent, when he's going rejoin without being any different?

    ReplyDelete
  106. Yes, just kill him off please, but with him still being evil and not a heroic way, because he doesn't deserve that.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Historical_Materialist6 April 2015 at 19:39

Possible but I don't see it happening. Ward in custody and then escapes has already been done. I see it more like the dust settles and Coulson says something to Ward like "You may have done a good thing here to help but you're still a contemptible piece of garbage as far as I'm concerned. Good people are dead because of you and you're going to have to wear that for the rest of your life, so this? Us working together? Don't get used to it." or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Sadly this episode info makes me think Coulson isn't going to even do that.

    ReplyDelete
  109. If Coulson does the "I am the boss and you have to follow me" crap about them working with Ward when the others object, I am going to be even more pissed.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I don't think the writers would be that stupid (that would be a truly crap scene). This isn't even on the same level as the argument in 2.11. Ward has hurt everyone of the original team in some form. Asking them to accept him back is too much. Hell accepting Bobbi or Mack back on the team woul be less of an ask (as they are Shield agents who so far have tried to limit the impact of what they've done and at least for Bobbi seem geniuely conflicted. Ward not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I think Ward is way too good spy to be played like that.

    ReplyDelete
  112. yeah she's just gonna kill him.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:46

yea the whole team may, skye, fitz, simmons could have issues with this

    ReplyDelete
  114. Whic still leaves you with how the hell do the writers think they can just fit Ward back into the orginal team as we've currently seen him. Hows Coulson's relationship with Talbot going to work out if hefinds out a killer of US military personnel is working for Shield.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Historical_Materialist6 April 2015 at 19:48

He might say something like that to Ward when they first meet up. Either way I highly doubt Ward is coming back to SHIELD. He'll be around though. He'll weave in and out of their situations. He'll lend a hand from a distance or from the shadows, but he'll try to regain some of their trust or at the very least try to convince them that he's not their enemy.

    ReplyDelete
  116. jesus, people have to chill... they can't sideline Ward forever, and having him back will lead to so many conflicts and drama.. cant wait :D

    ReplyDelete
  117. I can just imagine how Coulson's relationship with Talbot goes if Talbot finds out Ward is working with Coulson...

    ReplyDelete
  118. Well if the writers solved all these problems fast, the show wouldn't last. Maybe it's gonna lead us to S3.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 19:51

yea i like the ideal of it seems interesting

    ReplyDelete
  120. I agree about that, too.

    ReplyDelete
  121. To me they are moving to fast, Jemma's Hydra op didn't really have much of development, now Ward from ecape to reconnecting with the team... As somebody else posted they were teasing Ward doing his own ops for a bit, seems instead that he's going back too quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Not if he gives Talbot the heads up and kills two birds with one stone. Talbot gets Ward and brings in the other SHIELD.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Who said he escapes this time?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Oh I think she will (the only way around that might be if her Mom is still alive). But it's realistic to think that her view on Shield might have been changed with the whole trying to kill you bit.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 20:01

she don't have the whole story either so the only way to get the whole story is finding coulson

    ReplyDelete
  126. No, no and no. If this is meant to appease anyone, it's Brett Dalton, not the fans.

Brett, until stated otherwise, is still a regular cast member. As such, it's in his right to expect the writers to give him work, especially if it tests his acting skills and help him improve. Yet Grant Ward has only played a role in 1 out of 5 episodes so far, and it seems like he won't either in the next 2 episodes. Jed and Maurissa could've called his participation in the show a day in 2.10 by having him die from his wounds, but they didn't only to keep him without work for much of season 2B so far. It's only logical, then, for Brett to be rewarded for his patience with an amazing storyline as the season closes, and that can only happen now if they get him involved in this SHIELD Civil War storyline.

And as for calling Clint, Natasha, Sharon or whoever, it is good writing policy not to use solutions not hinted beforehand to solve an apparently unsolvable problem, aka a Deus Ex Machina. If Jed or Maurissa wanted to use either of them in their storyline they should've left enough clues of their upcoming appearances in previous episodes. Don't worry, though, we're all certain to get an in-universe explanation for that.

Nobody. This is all just speculation. I just don't see them putting Ward behind bars again. That's been done already. And Brett Dalton is still one of the series regulars so Ward has to be used in some capacity. I think he'll be a rogue. A free agent. A mercenary. A guy out for himself trying to do the right thing but forever burdened with the weight of the terrible things he did. Call that a redemption arc if you want but I think its inevitable to some degree, and ultimately others, especially Skye will take notice of the good he's trying to do. That's not say all will be forgiven and welcome back to the team. No. I don't think he'll ever fully be welcomed back. But the others will need to recognize that he as done some good.

In Star Wars, in the end Darth Vader killed the Emperor and saved his son. That doesn't excuse the horrible things Anakin Skywalker did but that one last act can't be overlooked.

  128. No cause if not for ward, skye would've been in Puerto Rico with coulson and the team to stop hydra using the obelisk because they thought it was a weapon of mass destruction and then when cal beat the crap outa coulson, skye still would have gone down and transformed

    ReplyDelete
  129. I don´t know why people it´s getting crazy about this. We should wait to see the episode, and then we can judge

    ReplyDelete
  130. But Hydra wouldn't have the map of the city, Raina wouldn't have been there at all (so she wouldn't have reason to go down). She could have just ended it with stopping Cal from killing Coulson and that would be the end of it. If Ward hadn't taken her off the plane the odds of her being transformed drop significantly.

    ReplyDelete
  131. So I guess that means that Real SHIELD was right about Coulson. If you're turning to pure evil to help you, you're clearly not fit for leadership or making good decision.

    ReplyDelete
  132. It's certainly going to convince them of that anyway. Like I said before, it might also convince Jemma about the concerns that they have (apart from her Alien issues, after the fall she did have issues over what right they had to be operating).

    ReplyDelete
  133. Pure evil? Talk about hyperbole. Pretty sure Ward's nowhere near the Red Skull or Daniel Whitehall in the scale of evilness.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Yeah cause burning your family is cute and everything. Ward has racked up a signifcant amount of dead that makes it hard to see him as anything other than a killer.

    ReplyDelete
  135. season 1 was better even till the Captain America episode.. but this 'Skye is an Inhuman' and SHIELD vs SHIELD thing is annoying.. what happened with this show?

    ReplyDelete
  136. I don't really see a difference between the three of them.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Honestly, at this point, Coulson is about as hard to root for as Ward for me. He cares so much about rebuilding SHIELD and his team that he'll team up with the organization that brought them down and the man that terrorized his team. That alone would convince me to join Real SHIELD if I was Jemma or Fitz.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Two of them will subject you to prolonged torture and horrible experimentations, take away your freedom and don't see a problem with mass murder, essentially being versions of Adolf Hitler in the MCU, the other is just a hired assassin. Are you kidding me?

    ReplyDelete
  139. Um...have you watched the show recently?

Ward is literally subjecting someone to prolonged torture and horrible experimentations right now as of 2.14. Works with HYDRA kidnapping and killing people so he's working to take away freedom right there (see being a HYDRA agent and his S2 storyline). Doesn't see a problem with mass murder and actively goes around murdering people as often as possible.

I hope there are other examples because Ward very much does those things?

    ReplyDelete
  140. I agree with this. Plus there could be other excuses, like Jiaying's body could have healed but her memories weren't a part of that and she's spent the time recouping them or something. I hope Jiaying is alive, just so Skye can gain understanding of her abilities and herself.

  141. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 20:53

tension will for sure be really high this episode

    ReplyDelete
  142. "Ward is literally subjecting someone to prolonged torture and horrible experimentations right now as of 2.14." Who, Bakshi? Don't do unto others what you don't want to be done unto yourself, he had it coming. And whether he's manipulating Kara or just helping her as he said is still up in the air. And both he and Garrett were HYDRA agents in name only: neither of them were true believers, they were under the HYDRA umbrella because it benefitted them but played their own game. They were essentially weapons dealers.

If Ward is to be compared with any Marvel villain, it's Loki, who's a liar, betrayer and murderer, but is nuanced enough to not be "pure evil" as you described. Pure evil is the Red Skull and Daniel Whitehall, who, as I said, are essentially the Adolf Hitlers of the MCU.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Well I trust the writers, they have a plan for that, they always have an plan.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Well, there is not surprises here, I think Ward problably would join the team someday again. I'm wonder where is Agent 33 at this point, it seems she will die soon.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Dimitri Theodosakis6 April 2015 at 21:10

My hopefully bet Skye mom alive thanks to her Healing Power.

    Sorry for my bad spelling

    ReplyDelete
  146. This is going to be SO DAMN GOOD.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Maybe he doesn't know Skye is Daisy and Jiaying's daughter. Although this is unlikely since he already met Cal and Raina. He seems smart so i'm sure he has a plan and will reveal on the right moment.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Yeah, I very much doubt Cal hasn't told them who she is. I wonder if they will explain why it's taken until now for Gordon to come for her. To me it's pretty clear that he would have known about her. Was it just he didn't want to expose himself to Shield (or take her without talking to her first?)?

    ReplyDelete
  149. This prediction was as easy as sunrise. They need to reintroduce him to the main plot. People might not like but it's not a surprise. We need to see how it will play out before judging and no doubt there will be a lot drama and tension on the episode so it's good.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Dimitri Theodosakis6 April 2015 at 21:17

New Shield should been Sword but nope

    ReplyDelete
  151. I'm just hoping that the only reason Ward is helping is because he has something Coulson wants, and Ward knows it. In terms of Ward rejoining the team...I doubt it, at least for now. But, I've decided I find Ward's character pointless now...he doesn't really have anything to offer other than being the character of a psycho fangirl's dreams (no offense). He really doesn't have any redeeming qualities. I wouldn't mind Skye killing him by exploding his heart at the end of the season though, that'd be cool...It just all depends on what they do from here to now.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Could be related to the inhumans. Like new SHIELD hunting down an inhuman and Skye take upon herself to save this person and lincoln would help. The other side is Coulson still trying to get SHIELD back and end up asking Ward fro help and somewhere during the episode they will come together against new SHIELD. Common enemy and goals.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Coulson will not team up with Hydra! Ward is now working on his own account.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Stephen S. Bowman6 April 2015 at 21:32

you are probably right we will see the answers but probably not fast probably few more episodes down the road might answer these questions

    ReplyDelete
  155. One of the condition for them to help her could be of her getting away from SHIELD completely and since Coulson can't really help her she will take the inhumans help and leave the team. Well, she kind of already did that when Coulson put her in that cabin but i expect she will get distance from the SHIELD war so she can focus on herself and on the episode something will make her work with Coulson again for a common goal.

I can't really imagine Fitz reaction about working with Ward again. Should be tough.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Me too. She alone can take down the new SHIELD considering how powerful she can be. When she has full control she will be the best agent ever. They would regret not being nice to her.

    ReplyDelete
  157. By now it's Real SHIELD using HYDRA-like methods to come into power. They say one thing but they do the opposite!

    ReplyDelete
  158. If May was on Coulson side i don't think she would be ok about Coulson calling Ward for help which leds me to believe May still a prisoner on the new SHIELD. If it's really just Coulson and Hunter against the world it gets easier to believe Coulson would turn to Ward for help. He would help get May and maybe the bus back.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Maybe she's speaking to her from the Spirit World.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Jeez. You people and your fanfiction.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Yeah S2 isn't over yet and the show is no way near over

    ReplyDelete
  162. Dont they usually come out 1:00 Eastern Time? Im surprised that its not up yet.

    ReplyDelete
  163. By the promo you can see she will be with the inhumans but still be worried about the team and what happened while she was gone. By episode 17 press release it seems like she will just follow a different path leaving Coulson to deal with SHIELD problems alone. He kind of already left her alone at the cabin to deal with her powers anyway. She will be in a different path with the inhumans. Then their paths will cross again on the 18.

    ReplyDelete
  164. New SHEILD could be messing with the inhumans. i'm sure they would respond.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I think it's both. They obviously have plans for her and putting SHIELD target on their backs wouldn't be a good idea. Skye would be more suceptive of inhumans and her powers if they didn't force her to anything or kidnapped her.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Historical_Materialist6 April 2015 at 21:51

Now that we've gotten a better understanding of how Skye's powers work: being able to feel and control the resonance of the entire universe. That's pretty powerful stuff. I suspect from a day to day, hand to hand combat perspective, we'll see Skye use (I don't know what to call it) a type of force punch. We're talking superhuman, knock the Hulk back kind of force. Think of the Tomorrow People without the teleporting.

This will be cool to see and suspect when Skye and Ward cross paths again, their fight will be a spectacle to behold.

  168. I WAS RIGHT, I WAS RIGHT WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOMESAUCE THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  169. Why isn't Ward dead by now? Why do we have to deal with him anymore? Please, just get rid of him. He's completely pointless. And, if they try to redeem him now, I will have lost all respect for the writing staff on this show. The only thing that would be keeping me around then would me Coulson and May.

  174. If you mean by a murdering bastard who has escaped justice too long, then I agree with you.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Stephanie Press6 April 2015 at 22:45

I'm sure it's flashbacks. If they're short scenes, what's the big deal? Skye is there to learn about just how much she is like her mother. And then she'll leave, like her mother did.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Stephanie Press6 April 2015 at 22:46

Jiaying was working in a clinic with Cal when they met. Gordon doesn't seem very impressed by Cal.

Now the "monsters" coming to get Skye makes sense. It was Inhumans, in hiding, trying to retrieve Jiaying's half-human child.

    ReplyDelete
  177. We don't know enough about her mother to assume that she left. In 2.11 the other Inhuman suggested that she'd be mentoring/guiding Inhumans for a long time. Why she was in the village with Cal is perhaps a different question.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Stephanie Press6 April 2015 at 22:52

I think Lincoln will help her, even though they have a non-interference policy and then he'll return to the Inhumans and Skye will stay with SHIELD.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Plus Mike Peterson and quite a few other people Coulson could call, even IF he insists on not telling the Avengers he's alive (the reasons for which still escape me). You'd think he would absolutely exhaust all options before turning to the would-be murderer of two of his team members.

    ReplyDelete
  180. If they do that, I'm literally going to stop watching.

    ReplyDelete
  181. I agree. As long he is very far away from Skye, i'm okay. He may help them somehow, but he is still their enemy. It's a classic move to be quite honest. There's no way he could be back to the team.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Too bad all the dead people Ward eliminated can't be replaced.

    ReplyDelete
  183. And all those that might have suffered from all of those released from the Fridge, or killed by the weapons that Hydra got from there as well. But sure that's not important is it. At this stage I think he could Waterboard Fitz on camera and his fans would still say "but he's not evil!"

    ReplyDelete
  184. Ha! I was patiently waiting for you to come on the thread and express your disgust XD

    ReplyDelete
  185. Oh my God, now that you mention it - once Fitz finds out that Coulson turned to Ward, it would be akin to being betrayed by yet ANOTHER person. What the hell?! Can we stop treating Fitz like a punching bag? The fact that Iain resembles a puppy so much makes it even worse.

    ReplyDelete
  186. I don't think we have enough information about what she was doing (and why she wasn't in this Inhuman base). Gordon isn't impressed with Cal now, but I'm not sure if it's clear that he did whatever he did with his "formula" before or after the attack.

I also don't think we have enough information to think that it was the Inhumans that were attacking the village. Gordon seems to be able to see alot. I think it's more likely that if she had left to work with Humans, that the Inhumans didn't know about Skye until Cal/Raina came into play this season.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Yes. Jemma said very clear and out loud: "If i ever see you again, i will kill you". If this isn't a bold move from Coulson, i will be very disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Yes killing people because he wants to. Wonderful person to have at your side.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Same here. If they do a 'redeemed bullshit arc' with Ward, i'm out. I love this show very much but i wouldn't not have stomach to see Ward near anyone of the team again after everything he did. It's just so wrong on so many levels.

    ReplyDelete
  190. If it was something over more than a season with at least some evidence of Ward turning from his ways, and having him as a merc on the side or something. maybe I could put up with it. But if we are talking about this as being his way back yeah I call BS!

    ReplyDelete
  191. Pfffft. None of these people matter because they aren't "hot bad boys" with a pretty face and nice abs. Ward might have to hurt a clone of himself to get the Stand With Ward fans to care.

Wait, Bobbi did WHAT? OMG, that bitch needs to DIE. Where's my sweet, cuddly Ward again?

    ReplyDelete
  192. I've said this elsewhere in this thread, but with almost 200 replies in this thread I can see how it may have gone unnoticed.

The real life explanation is that it is good writing policy not to use solutions not hinted beforehand to solve an apparently unsolvable problem, aka a Deus Ex Machina. If Jed or Maurissa wanted to use Mike Peterson, Clint, Natasha or whoever in their storyline they should've laid the groundwork in previous episodes of this season so their appearance wouldn't come out of left field and thus feel like a solution from the heavens so to speak.

Of course, real life explanation and in-universe explanation are not the same, so expect a bit of exposition before Coulson turns towards Grant Ward for help.

    ReplyDelete
  193. It would send such a ridiculous message if Ward was so easily redeemed that I would simply be far too disgusted to keep watching. I am sick to death of shows like The Vampire Diaries saying that "hot bad boy" characters deserve to get the girl and live happily ever after, and all the innocent people they've killed don't matter in the slightest. I hope AoS is better than that.

    ReplyDelete
  194. While I don't claim that Ward is on the same scale of evil as Red Skull or Whitehall, please consider that he knowingly worked for a Nazi organization (which tried to commit mass genocide in Winter Soldier). I don't think HE has any problem with mass murder, either.

    ReplyDelete
  195. Well, so far AoS is doing just fine. And i really hope it stays that way. They have lots of potential for Season 3, especially now with Age of Ultron in the cards. But if the show start to go bad because of Ward's character, them i'm out, because not even Skye or Simmons could make me stay.
