  1. Tatiana Maslany for sure!

  2. Amy Acker (Person of Interest),Eliza Taylor (The 100) and Melissa McBride (The Walking Dead)

  3. Amy Acker, then Aja Naomi King and Kathryn Winnick,

    ReplyDelete
  4. For me, it's all about Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black. She deserves all the awards. Every single one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Lana Parrilla when we look at Emmy Nominations.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Eliza Taylor (The 100) and Aja Naomi King (HTGAWM)

  7. Tatiana Maslany. She'll win best actress next year, mark my words. Bellamy Young is also superb.

  8. Eden Sher (The Middle)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Other- Madeleine Stowe (Revenge)

  10. I voted Other. I'm thinking of Troian Bellissario from Pretty Little Liars. Many people haven't watched it or dismisses her because PLL is a "tween-show", but her acting is really good. I hope she can land a role in a more "adult" show, so that she may get some recognition.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Definitely Amy Acker. She doesn't get a lot of recognition but she perfectly portrays whatever she's given. There wouldn't be "Root" without her - and lately she has even stepped up her game.

A lot of people mention Taiana Maslany but at least she gets (some) recognition. I really love her acting, too.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Caitriona Balfe is perfection on Outlander plus the always wonderful Tatiana Mislay :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. I hope you're right. Tatiana's amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Tatiana freaking Maslany!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'd say Maslany, but at least there's more talk about how amazing and underappreiated awards-wise she is. But Emmy Rossum gets the occasional, "oh yeah, she's good in Shameless" nod and that's about it. She's fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Bellamy Young & Amy Acker.
    Also, Tatiana Maslany.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't know that Lizzy Caplan or Bellamy Young can be considered "underrated." They get constant praise from fans and critics, and they've both had award nominations, and Young won the Critics Choice Award. Yes, they're great, but while they may not get as much attention as some of the biggest names, it's still not a secret that they're awesome. Everybody knows. And Balfe gets a lot of attention for her work on Outlander, although it hasn't translated into things like Emmy nods yet, if that's what you mean.

My picks are Eliza Taylor - the show and the character get a fair amount of credit lately, but rarely the woman who brings Clarke to life, which is a shame - Danielle Brooks - ditto, although at least that's because with OITNB there are just too many great actresses to talk about, and somebody's bound to get edged out - and Elizabeth Henstridge, who has had several great moments in the series but really doesn't get mentioned as one of the great assets of the show as often as she deserves. She was the center of what most of us consider the first promising episode of the series, FZZT, after all; she just is at the mercy of a very crowded show of very god actors and cool characters.

And while I know it contradicts my statement from the first part of this ridiculously long comment, I'm also going to have to do a write in for Tatiana Maslany. I mean, I know she's hardly ignored, and critical praise is great, but she's played something like a dozen different characters nearly flawlessly. She should have all the awards. She should be able to play award statue bowling by now. She and John Noble should have weekly lunches discussing the unfairness of this, because if there's anyone who understands, it's him. I'd also add Andrea Navedo, who does an excellent job on Jane the Virgin, but usually gets cut out of the conversation because Gina Rodriguez is just too awesome, and if they mention anyone else, it's usually Yael Grobglas (who is also awesome).

    ReplyDelete
  18. Other: Katie Cassidy.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Kathrine Winneck and Other: Tatiana Maslany.

    ReplyDelete
  20. underrated, not overrated. she's terrible

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't consider any of the list particularly good (and don't even know half of it), but most certainly not Amy Acker. I'd go with other: Stana Katic, she's amazing in Castle. she can't get enough credit.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I guess the "on television" part of the question is used loosely because OitNB and House of Cards both are not Television shows, they are Netflix Shows and not aired on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Emily VanCamp! She's so good!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Eliza Taylor from The 100

    ReplyDelete
  25. Liz Henstridge is definitely underrated but let's add Chloe Bennet to the list.

    And yes to Bellamy Young.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Eliza Taylor, Kathryn Prescott, Aja Naomi King (also Katie Findlay and Karla Souza from HTGAWM) from the list!

Other: Adelaide Kane, Italia Ricci, Tatiana Maslany

    ReplyDelete
  27. I voted for Amy Acker. I think Person of Interest in general doesn't get the credit it deserves.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Bellamy Young (scandal) and Eliza Taylor (the 100). But Meghan Ory (OUAT/Intelligence) is the winner...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Eliza Taylor first and foremost; her performance has been truly outstanding this season.
Also Bellamy Young, which continues to dominate in Scandal; truly great actress.
Also voted for Danielle Brooks, and voted other since Lana Parrilla wasn't included - and she has been doing quite an outstanding job for years

    ReplyDelete
  30. Definitely Lizzy Caplan

    ReplyDelete
  31. Italia Ricci. She is a great actress can't wait to see her in more stuff. And Lucy Hale she's very good too, interested to see what she does when PLL is over.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Molly Parker.
    That is all.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Eliza Taylor, Tatiana Maslany, Amy Acker, and Rachel Nicols. If these 4 ladies ever did a show together I'd need heart medication it would be so good.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Amy Acker Kathryn Winnick Melissa Mcbride Bellamy Young other Tatiana Maslany Patricia Heaton Eden Sher Kat Graham

    ReplyDelete
  35. From this list, Rachel Nicols, Meghan Markle,

    ReplyDelete
  36. Other-Tatiana Maslany!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Despite getting snubbed at lots of awards, Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) does get a LOT of critical attention and fans absolutely adore her. I don't think it'd be fair to choose her.

Melissa McBride (The Walking Dead) gets a lot of accolades from critics, too, and I think she's won a small award or two for her work on The Walking Dead.

I believe Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) has been nominated for several awards for her work on Masters of Sex. She's fantastic, but she seems to get her due from what I've seen.

Annet Mahendru (The Americans) seems to get neglected a bit. She has some really great scenes on The Americans.

Haley Atwell (Agent Carter) absolutely deserves much more praise than she receives.

I'm torn between Amy Acker (Person of Interest), Adelaide Clemens (Rectify), and Abigail Spencer (Rectify). Those are all phenomenal actresses who don't get nearly as much praise as they deserve.

Ended up voting for Acker, Mahendru, and Other (Clemens and Spencer).

Runners-up: Jennifer Ferrin (Hell on Wheels), Kerry Bishé (Halt & Catch Fire), Ann Dowd (The Leftovers, Masters of Sex), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Sofie Gråbøl (Fortitude), Julianne Nicholson (The Red Road, Masters of Sex), Aya Cash (You're the Worst)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Melissa McBride and Bellamy Young!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Eliza taylor,Melissa Mcbride,Bellamy young & Elizabeth Henstridge.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love Stana Katic but shes not really underated I mean shes been nominated and won awards for her role in Castle.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Personally I would go for Daniela Ruah who didn’t make this list

    ReplyDelete
  42. Well, if you downvote other people´s choice you should come up with someone better than rhinoplast victim Stana Katic.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Other- Tatiana Maslany (I know she's getting some recognition but not nearly enough for her brilliant performances in Orphan Black. Atleast she's back in April!!!) Also voted Other-Marie Avgeropoulos. The 100 writers have truly allowed all their actors to shine by creating such dynamic characters that have grown immensely in season 2. So you have to credit the writers but you must also look at someone like Marie who has taken her character's storyline and upped it to eleven. Bellamy Young- also she also receives recognition for her portrayal of Mellie but at this point she's the only character left that I actually care about so thank you Bellamy Young. Last vote goes to the incomparable Eliza Taylor. Not enough words to describe this young woman's incredible & continuously improving performance as the 100's leading lady Clarke Griffin. Personally I find Eliza puts all the other leads on the CW to shame. She deserves awards & we all know she probably won't even be considered due to the network.. type of show the 100 is.. and the unfairly weak ratings. Anyone doubting she's not the most underrated actress can go on youtube and search 'the 100 2x08 final scene'.. except maybe not because spoilers. Just watch the damn show!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's fine to dislike the character but I don't think one should attack the actress.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Eliza Taylor
    Other- Chloe Bennet.
Other- Nina Dobrev. I know she's won fan voted awards, but I think her work on TVD has been worthy of more.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm not sure I agree that Cassidy is the most underrated but I would put Katia Winter and her at the top of an ever growing Most Unfairly Hated list.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Aja and Lea Michelle

    ReplyDelete
  48. still underrated ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. a) Stana is great
    b) I downvoted you because Cassidy is simply a bad actress.
You have absolutly no clue what your talking about

    ReplyDelete
  50. I submit Katie Cassidy in this. Just because people hate her Laurel character, they deem her to be an awful actress. Completely untrue.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Stana Katic is the most underrated!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I could be seeing different headlines than you, but I think it's the RootXShaw ship that gets buzz, not necessarily that performances given by the actresses.

For me, Acker was what got me back into Person of Interest after I'd written it off about the first seven or eight episodes. I saw a bit of the last few episodes of the first season, and was enamored by the prospect of her character, and her totally engrossed by Acker's performance when the second season rolled around. I stuck around almost exclusively to see her character's return later on. And along the way, I found more elements to get me interested. But Acker's under-utilized role is what got me to finally really get into Person of Interest after its mostly under-whelming first season.

Sorry if it appears as though I'm attacking your opinion! I just felt a need to defend Acker a bit, as I think it needs to be stressed more what she (and later Sarah Shahi) did for Person of Interest. If Acker's performance has gotten more buzz than I was aware of, then I think she absolutely deserves it. But since the only real buzz I ever see over Person of Interest at all is when Root and Shaw have a flirty moment, I'm going to have to say that Acker's underrated in the role. Amy Acker pretty much made Person of Interest for me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Underrated is always very subjective but these are some people I would like to see having more recognition:
    - Carrie Coon, The Leftovers
    - Lana Parilla, One Upon a Time
    - Melissa McBride, The Walking Dead (though she gets a lot of recognition online)
    - All three ladies from Brooklyn Nine-Nine
    - Alison Brie, Community
    - Gillian Jacobs, Community
    - Amy Brenneman, The Leftovers
    - Amy Acker, Person of Interest
    - Caitlin FitzGerald, Masters of Sex,
    - Lena Headey, Game of Thrones
    - Maura Tierney, The Affair
    - Emily VanCamp, Revenge
    - Lizzy Caplan, Masters of Sex
    - Tatiana Maslany, Orphan Black (again, she gets a lot of recognition online though)
    - Eliza Taylor, The 100
    - Hayley Atwell, Marvel's Agent Carter
    - Nina Dobrev, The Vampire Diaries

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think Nina Dobrev would have been recognized by awards and such if her show wasn't the vampire diaries, a show the awards shows would never consider. Her performance in the early years of Elena-Katherine as well as some of her acting last year when Jeremy "died" were stunning.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I forgot Ann Dowd in my list but I agree with her inclusion, 100%. I think there are worse ommissions from The Leftovers though. The entire cast is pretty much underrated but I feel that Amy Brenneman and Carrie Coon deserved to be in legitimate contention to win in those categories. And if we go into male acting, I don't think anyone has pulled a more impressive performance in the lead acting category than Justin Theroux. The fact that the awards haven't been all over him is a crime in itself IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yes I think that VanCamp should have been in contention for awards on what she has done on Revenge over the years. I actually think this year has been her best so far acting wise with all the David stuff. It bugs me a bit that award shows cannot seem to separate the quality of the show itself from the acting of those involved, Revenge is a clear case of that. But oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Elizabeth Mitchell - Lost/Once

    ReplyDelete
  58. I just added Carrie Coon to my list in an edit! :D Dunno how she slipped my mind -- I adored her in The Leftovers (and she was pretty great in Gone Girl too).

Amy Brenneman was kinda eh for me. She had good moments, but as an actress, I can take her or leave her. I just didn't have that kind of moment where she clicked for me, and I would go "Oh my god, that is a stellar performance. Give me more of your filmography, now!"

Copy that for Justin Theroux for me. I even thought he was overdoing it in some scenes.

But to each their own. You had a great list up above!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think VanCamp is more underrated than Stowe.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I thought about including Alison Brie on my list, but I think the Community fanbase is pretty much in love with her. Critically, she's underrated, but I think the fans give her justice. I think it's Jacobs who's underrated. I've seen her get some hate, and I'm not sure why. Britta can be annoying, but Jacobs does a great job. She's currently knocking it out of the park with a recurring role on Girls, where she plays another easy-to-hate character.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I think Amy is a polarizing actress. She adds a type of emotion to her performances that either resonates with your or doesn't. I thought for years that she she should have gotten a nod for what she did in Private Practice for instance even though I am sure she never had a chance (Catherine Scorsone missing one for Season 5 is an even bigger crime in my mind). So I understand you not clicking with her so much.

As for Justin, I never felt overdoing but I guess it could come across that way. Matthew Fox is one of my favorite actor ever, from TV or cinema, and a lot of people said the same about him. Justin actually has a very similar acting style I feel, so I think those opinions are to be expected!

Great list in any case ;)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I agree with you on Brie getting all the love from the Community fandom. I wasn't sure whether to put her up there or not, but I just went for it since the awards ignore her constantly. But yes, Jacobs is way more underrated. I thought she was the best thing about Community Season 4 for instance. I love how goofy she makes Britta. But I never got the hate feeling, just the under appreciation.

    ReplyDelete
  63. from this list whom I've seen: Amy Acker, and then just off the top of my head who's not on the list: Maggie Q, Tatiana M,

    ReplyDelete
  64. Lena Headey (Game Of Thrones)
    Stana Katic (Castle)
Lana Parrilla (Once Upon A Time)
    Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Maybe I just haven't seen enough of Brenneman to really get the chance to click with her. Honestly, I think I've only seen her in The Leftovers. Polarizing is a good word for her, though!

So glad you compared Justin Theroux's role on The Leftovers to Matthew Fox! I can't tell you how many times I thought to myself, "Would anybody even notice if Kevin were suddenly played by Matthew Fox?"

That's not at all a knock at Fox! He was great on Lost (and the only good thing about Alex Cross), but I don't think you can deny that he and Theroux essentially give the same performance. However, it took me a while to truly appreciate what Fox did on Lost. Hopefully I'll grow to love Theroux as time progresses and I re-evaluate The Leftovers.

    ReplyDelete
  66. No idea how anyone could hate Katia Winter. She did great with what she was given on Sleepy Hollow, and seems properly miffed by her characters' mistreatment by the producers.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I never really get into PoI, but I enjoyed her in the episodes I watched...but I think that is exactly her niche. The slightly odd character who is a little bit out of tune with normality. In anything else she falls flat for me. Granted, her role in Man of Steele was not particularly well written, but I also felt that she was miscast in that role. Nevertheless she is always mentioned as if she is a gift from god when it comes to acting.
It is always a mistake to judge an actress by one performance (unless she happens to play multiple clones), because you can't truly judge her if you have no idea of her ranger. Not only do I consider Amy Acker as kind of limited in the roles she can play, she also gets a ton of accolades and movie roles...she is not underrated by any means, which was the question.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yes I agree that Matthew Fox and Theroux give pretty much the same performance but it is one I really adore. I appreciated Fox right away on Lost and I still think that episodes like Do No Harm from Season 1 are some of the best acting showcases of the entire show, though Season 6 and 4 were probably his best seasons overall.

As for Theroux, like I said before, I really don't think there is anyone right now that should win the leading acting category over him, let alone steal the nomination. The Leftovers has a whole has some of the strongest acting right now I think (Masters of Sex probably beats it though)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Tatiana Maslany & Amy Acker should be put on a golden pedestal !

    ReplyDelete
  70. completely true. her acting is a big reason why the Laurel character sucks so bigtime

    ReplyDelete
  71. Keri Russel on The Americans, the whole show is underrated.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Emmy Rossum and Tatiana Maslany!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I voted Amy Acker, though in fairness, I can't speak for the others. I think her being underrated goes along with POI being under the radar as a whole. The very first time I saw the show, I disliked Root as a character, and by the second half of Season 3, she was nearly my favorite. Part of that is a credit to the writing, but Amy has done an amazing job with an often transient presence.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I am sure Amy Acker is great, but LOL I cannot take her seriously after her role on OUAT. 'Dreamy' was the worst episode ever!!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Tatiana! Hands down!!

Also (I was having this conversation the other day on another site) I think Melisa Peterman doesn't get enough credit for her work as Bonnie on Baby Daddy. IMO there are days where she carries that show. The writing is generally good mind you but something about her commitment and ability to make the material work no matter how shallow, silly or fluffy it may get, baffles me. She grounds Baby Daddy into reality and portrays a character that I know could have been so annoying in the hands of a lesser actress.

    ReplyDelete
  76. We had a totally different reaction. Root the character, not Acker, is what made me stop watching Person of Interest. I held on for as long as I could but that character annoys the heck out of me. When I found she was getting even more screentime, I dropped PoI even though I still liked it otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I have the middle opinion of you guys. I don't think she's a limited actress but I do agree that she gets an awful lot of fanfare especially on the internet simply because she played a fan favorite on a cult TV show. In many ways she's a more talented Summer Glau to me.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I agree but it's out there and it baffles me completely. Then again I never understood hating someone because of the character they play either.

    ReplyDelete
  79. My feeling a well.
She ruined the show for me and I had to quit watching since almost every scene with her made me roll my eyes or want to fast forward.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I disagree. The reason Laurel sucked was because of the writing and because of the Felicity love. Cassidy can be quite good in the right roles.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Once more, completely untrue.

But, since you're speaking of her acting....post a video on here of you acting.

This is going to be reply from now one when people comment on someone's acting. Let us critique you.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Amy Acker, Its bad enough POI is still underrated by many out their but here performance as Root is amazing especially these past two seasons. seriously should be in Emmy contention.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Monica Potter, Parenthood

    ReplyDelete
  84. Considering that I don't think much of Summer Glau's abilities either (again: good actress, but only for certain roles - plus, Amy Ackers might not be that appealing when she is out of her niche, but I wouldn't call her performances bad, just not particularly riverting), that is not something I would argue with.

    ReplyDelete
  85. As far as I can tell she is especially good in bitchy and emotionless roles. But that's pretty much is it. I have never seen her in anything in which she didn't come off as bitchy in one way or another, which is great when it fits the role. When it doesn't...not so much.
Yeah, Laurel is badly written, but it is not like she never got any meaty scenes, and she never sold any of those either.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Other - Tatiana Maslany of Orphan Black. The fact she's not even in this poll only proves it.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I have also gave a nod to Tatiana in my comment but I am not sure at which point she is still underrated. Yes she hasn't received the proper awards recognition (Though she hasn't been totally ignored either) but she is universally loved by fans and critics and constantly mentioned in any acting lists. She is probably the personification of underrated right now, up to a point in which it probably no longer applies.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Agree; Revenge may not be a contender for outstanding drama series, but the cast is very game. The only recognition the cast has gotten so far was that golden globe nomination for Madeleine Stowe in season 1 and nothing else. I find it really unfair; VanCamp and Stowe in particular should have been nominated for awards multiple times now, and so Henry Czerny. They are all truly outstanding!

    ReplyDelete
  89. I didn't include Tatiana in my comment just because I thought she was pretty recognized for her performance by now even if she hasn't won any awards. Though she should win awards, multiple! She's just outstanding!

    ReplyDelete
  90. other-Tatianna Maslany

    ReplyDelete
  91. I wouldn't say the overall cast per se since I think there were some weak links in there but those 3 for sure. Emily Van Camp really belongs in the same category as those awesome leading ladies out there that are constantly getting praise, at least IMO ;)

    ReplyDelete
  92. I am surprised Crystal Reed (Allison Argent from Teen Wolf) hasn't come up yet. She was one of the best actors on that show.

    ReplyDelete
  93. LOL Pencilinacase!
    I totally agree :)

    ReplyDelete
  94. golden pedastal lmfao!!! i love it :D

    ReplyDelete
  95. Yeah, but even the weakling did a good job IMO. The cast overall is very solid, with Emily VanCamp standing out above everyone else, alongside Gabriel Mann and Madeline Stowe

    ReplyDelete

    Emmy Rossum - Shameless

    ReplyDelete
  97. I would say until she gets the awards she still counts as underrated.

    ReplyDelete
  98. If you're talking about award recognition, it's Tatiana Maslany and Emmy Rossum for me. Although to pick one, it would be Emmy. I think Tatiana is phenomenal, but she has a huge fan base and you always hear about her brilliant performance. Whereas, Emmy Rossum puts in an excellent performance in every episode of Shameless, but award shows fail to recognize her, and you don't often hear people talking about her when it comes to great television actresses, so I feel she is definitely one of those who is very under the radar.
I'm also going to say Sarah Drew. Because I think she is one of the best things about Grey's Anatomy right now. But was often overshadowed because people would rather talk about Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson, Sara Ramirez, etcetera. Not that these actresses aren't fantastic. But I feel like people overlook Sarah, and she is brilliant. From the shooting episode onwards, she's handled everything she has been given (which at times can be very little, another reason she may be overlooked) brilliantly.
And perhaps Jessalyn Gilsig, an actress I've always thought has given great performances. But is never appreciated because her characters aren't the best. Think about Terri in Glee. An awful and ridiculous character, and people's hatred for Terri made so many people miss the fact that Jessalyn played her absolutely brilliantly. She made Terri someone I loved to hate. And brought real heart and excellent comedy to the role. Sadly, I haven't tuned into Vikings just yet, but I hope she's finally been given a character worthy of her talents.
Also, I like that you have Aja Naomi King listed above as she is easily the best actress after Viola Davis on HTGAWM. Excluding guest stars, of course, because Marcia Gay Harden and Cicely Tyson better clean up when it comes to guest star nominations.

    ReplyDelete
  99. The People Choice Award is the only one where she was awarded for the rest ... ignored :-(

    ReplyDelete
  100. Sarah Rafferty (Suits)

    ReplyDelete
  101. You do realize that I'm not a profesional actor/actress, right? If that's your only argument, it only proves my point. How about you post a video of Cassidy acting good? Good luck finding one.

    ReplyDelete
  102. the writing is bad too, I agree. but in Arrow Katie Cassidy is simply not acting well. Maybe she was good in other roles (though I kind of doubt it), but in Arrow it's terrible. No matter what scene, she just can't sell any emotions.
Olicity shipping certainly is a reason to hate Laurel too for some people, but that doesn't make the bad writing and acting go away.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Absolutely agree. That was actually the reason why I felt that she was underrated. No matter what she does she gets hated.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Absolutely. I just got down to the same level of accusing the actress. I had a weak moment.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Tatiana Maslany gets praised from fans and critics all over the world. She is far from underrated.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Shaw is the female Reese and I think people (mainly the male fanbase) are threatened by that. Combine this with wanting the show go back to the season 1 mode and you have someone who creates those threads.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Wow, I'm sorry to hear you were in such polar opposition as myself. :/

Man, this differing opinion thing can be tough sometimes! :P

    ReplyDelete
  108. Hm, then I suppose I'm naive in her notoriety as of yet. I've only yet seen her with small roles in other shows and movies, but never disliked her. I absolutely refuse to watch Man of Steel lol -- I hadn't even realized Acker was in it. I haven't seen these massive accolades that Acker's apparently had, so she's underrated to me. But I'm capable of being wrong. I'll have to keep a sharper out for buzz on her in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  109. You DO realize that since you're not a professional actor, you have no right to actually comment on a professional actor's skills, right?

Like I said, if YOU think you have the right to talk down on someone's acting, let us critique you. Simple as that. If you know zilch about acting, then it's wise to just shut up because one cares what you have to say.

  110. incredible stupid logic. Of course I have the right to voice my opinion. Not acting oneself and not knowing about acting aren't the same thing. Also, I watch Arrow, that's where you can see how terrible she is. maybe she used to be better, but that doesn't change the fact that her performace as Laurel is very, very bad. And most viewers agree with me. What are your credentials that you think you know better than everyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  111. "Incredible stupid logic" for someone who knows nothing about acting trying to badmouth Katie Cassidy. Of course some idiot like you would call it "incredible stupid logic".

"What are your credentials that you think you know better than everyone else?"

I don't know anything about acting, hence why I don't act like a fool calling someone a "bad actor".

You stay on your throne up there though.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I never said I know nothing about acting, that's you. I'm also not an idiot and insulting me just shows what kind of person you are.
So why do you think you can judge her as good or not bad? Why did you ever comment in the first place only to admit that you don't know what your talking about? Just let it go.

    ReplyDelete
  113. "I never said I know nothing about acting, that's you."

Then please, as you sit there on your throne, tell me what YOU know about acting.

    "Just let it go."

For someone to continue to reply to me, you're not taking these words to heart.

I'm not saying Katie Cassidy is a bad actor, but the fact that IDIOTS like yourself continue to say she is just shows how pathetic some people are, especially when actual critics have never said one bad thing about her. Only unimportant people in the comment section.

  114. Katie Cassidy is a great actor indeed.

I'm starting to think that it is a bunch of Felicity fans that continue to talk down Katie's acting.

    ReplyDelete
  115. ah, aren't you a lovely person? how about you try to stay on topic instead of insulting me and many others? and do you really think the viewers of a show are unimportant? I think some people, especially actors and actresses, would disagree.

  117. Great pick with Carrie Coon

  118. It's interesting to hear her called the female Reese considering that Shaw seems irritated by Reese most of the time (not to say they don't care about each other deep down). I think specifically back to the scene where Reese got shot in Pretenders where Shaw called him a baby when he was in pain in the car. Reese is a bad ass, too, don't get me wrong, but something tells me Shaw's got a threshold and higher tolerance for pain (Think back to Relevance, Raz Gavor, Root Path)...John is a lot warmer tho he's a broken person when we first meet him because of Jessica while Shaw is just very much numb since she was a kid as we saw in flahbacks...I'd say what separates the 2 the most is their relations with others and how they fair socially...My favorite quote about Shaw by the little girl in Raz Gavor is, "It's not that you don't have feelings - it's just like the volume is turned way down..."

  119. If you take a closer look at the characters of course there are distinctions between them. I actually meant that out the main characters (Finch, Root, Fusco, Carter, Reese and Shaw) they are the ones with the most similarities when you consider their role in the team. They are both soldiers and strong fighters who get the job done no matter what.
That's what I meant be female Reese.

"My favorite quote about Shaw by the little girl in Raz Gavor is, 'It's
not that you don't have feelings - it's just like the volume is turned
    way down...'".

Yeah I loved that too. That little girl had it pretty much right. I don't believe that she actually has that Axis II personality disorder. Even Root said "The thing about Shaw is, she does care".

  120. Tatiana Maslany by a mile! This chick should have Emmys/Golden Globes under her belt already!

    ReplyDelete
  121. Because she gets tons of praise and acclaim from viewers and the media. Just because she's been snubbed by the Golden Globes and Oscars does not mean that she's underrated.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Meghan Markle and Sarah Rafferty from Suits for sure.

  123. Spot with Caitlin Fitzgerald.

  124. I thought about putting Aya Cash and Kether Donohue in the poll but I didn't cause this site isn't big on cable comedies. They are excellent.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Megan Follows & Adelaide Kane, although I wouldn't say they're the most underrated.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I thought Aya Cash was fantastic in You're the Worst. Kether Donohue was very good, too. As a whole, I thought You're the Worst was pretty great. I didn't expect it to be very good. Definitely one of my sleeper hits on 2014.

Lana Parrilla (the script and plot are cheesy and absurd but she created an unforgetable Evil Queen), Kathryn Winnick (Lagertha is one of the best female characters ever created) and Sophie Turner (since Sansa is "unlikable" she never receive the credit she deserves).

  139. I have rather certainly gained an inclination towards Amy Acker, and that is in fact not because of her work in the amazing Root field, but most probably because of how she did I it for me in Much Ado About Nothing and of course in Dollhouse.
As for what is claimed to be recognition on her part, Amy is not getting nearly half as much as she deserves.
For instance, I love Tatiana Maslany but I don't believe she even plays in this category.
She is destined for much higher awards, therefore I would not say she is as underrated as others.
Fans acknowledged her performances all over the world, yet she still hasn't received what I would call a satisfying award.
However, Amy Acker doesn't even get the little bits, only perhaps by Shoot fans (and a few others) who have obviously seen something worthy in her acting.
For many people I know, her big break was the moment she screamed at that elevator, or the way she knocked it out of the park with that 'if I were a man' monolog.
For me it was the latter, even though every time I watch the elevator scene I get goosebumps.
I just don't believe she should only be given kudos for her romance with Shaw or just as a solo character.
She deserves much better than that.

  153. Amy Acker! She is absolutely unique. Fair enough would be if she is recognized as #1 on tv nowadays. The more we see her on the screen, the more exquisite enjoyment we get.
