The Walking Dead - Strangers - Advance Preview: "Never Let Your Guard Down"

19 Oct 2014

After an explosive season premiere, The Walking Dead is back next Monday, the 19th on FOX UK, and this Sunday on AMC in the US, with an all new episode : "Strangers".

"No Sanctuary"; the season premiere,  was an excellent- if not the best, way to start the season. I absolutely loved the episode, it was filled with so much action (I loved that big explosion !) and so many walkers (zombies on fire will always be my favorite).
I've never expected Terminus to go down so fast. I thought it would happen during the winter finale, and then everyone would be reunited with Carol. I'm so happy the writers wasted no time and got rid of those freaky cannibals. But Gareth is not dead for sure, so we can expect him to show up like Brian did last year...
The reunions of last week were so sweet and touching : Daryl with Carol, Sasha with Tyreese and Rick and Carl with Judith. Those happy, touching moments happens rarely on The Walking Dead, it makes them even more precious and heart breaking. I cried when Rick and Carl ran towards Judith. Of course, those happy moments can't last forever when you're surrounded by walkers.
Now, our favorite group of survivors is reunited and armed like an army. They're really a strong group now, they have learnt from their mistakes so they're more prepared. I like them way better this way. They have survived so much, of course there are still much troubles ahead of them, but now I'm confident they can do it, without losing too much members.

"Strangers" will introduce a new character from the comics : Father Gabriel, played by Seth Gilliam. I haven't read the comics yet, I really want to but I'm so not into comics. I'll probably read them once the series is ended (in many, many, many years) ; but I know a little about the comics (I love Wikipedia) and I did some research on Father Gabriel. He's described as a man with a secret and without any doubt, he is hiding something. The big question is what, and mostly if Gimple has decided to change him from the comics. Father Gabriel can be an interesting character to the group, maybe like Hershel was, he can be a moral compass. Gabriel is is quite different from the others because he's a priest, and even during this apocalypse, he still believes in God. It doesn't mean he's a good person.

Father Gabriel's introduction isn't all of what you can expect from "Strangers", here's a list of what's going to happen :

- Three very important scenes with Carol, all three happening before the opening titles. My girl is the center of attention since she's back into the group. She will have three important chats with three different characters. I'm so glad to finally see Carol interact with everyone else, and not only those creepy children and Tyreese. And I missed Carol and Daryl so much (I know I'm not the only one)
- Father Gabriel's introduction to the group will cause some tension. They all have trust issues, after everything they went though it's understandable. And for us too, it's hard to know if this new character is telling the truth or walking our survivors into a trap. But the group will be confronted to other strangers than Gabriel !
- Those awful walkers never ceased to surprise you and they can attack you in the least expected places. Expect to jump out of your chair during one scene and fear for someone's life. Those walkers want to bite you, never forget that.
- The last scene of the episode is so shocking and so disgusting, it's crazy that The Walking Dead can actually show scenes like that. It was really gruesome. I think I understand now what the actors meant when they talked about being surprised some scenes weren't censored.
- You were excited last week when you saw Morgan, right ? Well, keep your excitement for next week because you won't see him this week.
- Romantic moments for our favorite couples ! There's Maggie and Glenn on one side, and Sasha and Bob on the other; a,d they're so perfectly in love. It's nice to have someone during those dark time, everybody needs comfort and affection. They better enjoy it while they can.
- A walkers pool ! Those wet walkers are be so disgusting. What the water and humidity can do to a corpse is just sickening.
- Well, about that, someone will throw up because walkers are really disgusting.
- Rick will make one of his best speech, to Carl. For once, he will be very honest and direct, I was very touched during that scene. Andrew Lincoln was perfect in it. It will really show how much Rick and Carl have both changed and evolved into two different person, but they have kept, and even strengthened their father and son's relationship.
- But Rick won't be the only one to make a great speech, he has a new rival. Because the survivors will have to make a choice between staying and catching up some rest or hitting the road again, two sides will argue and one character will deliver an efficient speech.
- Michonne will open up about her feelings at a very surprising moment,. She is always unexpected and full of surprises.

"Strangers" is an excellent follow up to "No Sanctuary", this 5th season is on a really good path with two episodes in a row without any filling elements, Of course the tension isn't the same, they aren't trapped by cannibals but there is still this sense of danger, of unexpected all around the survivors. Anyone can be attacked or bitten.
And now, with this newly reunited group, there are more dynamics between all of them and it's a real pleasure to watch all of them surviving together.

And finally the quotes game ! Guess from which characters those quotes are :

1- "I owe you everything"
2-"We need to start over. All of us, with each other"
3- "Do you have a camp ?"
4- "We"re not splitting up again"
5-"We take a breath, we slow down, shit inevitably goes down"
6-"One more"
7-"What have you done ? We've all done something"
8-"Eugene, what's in D.C. ?"
9-"We need supplies, whatever we do next"
10- "They got Beth !"

Are you excited about "Strangers" ? Don't miss it on Monday 19th October on FOX UK, and this Sunday on AMC in the US.

  2. Nice preview. Looking forward to this. The disgusting scene you're talking about - I'm guessing you found it worse than the bathtub scene of the premiere (which I didn't find that bad - though critics are going nuts over it)?

Robert I'm ready for the 'Quote's Game' when you are buddy.

  5. It's way worst than the bathtub scene. Last week, it was shocking, but we knew they would all survive. Even The Walking Dead couldn't kill of Glenn like that.

If it's what i think, it'll match with something in issue 60-something of the comic-book.

Thanks for this! Awesome. My guesses...
1 either Rick or Daryl, to Carol.
    2 Rick? Or Tyreese.
    3 Father Gabriel
    4 Glenn
    5 Abraham
6 This one is so vague... maybe Michonne or Carol?
    7 Rick
    8 Glenn or Tara
    9 Maggie or Rick?
10 obviously this has to be Daryl.

    How close am I? Lol.

  12. Nice try but you need to give the 10 answers, otherwise it's too easy :)

    6. Tyreese
    7. Rick

  14. I'm
not into comics at all but I loved the Walking Dead comics. I
downloaded them all during the 4th season and have been keeping up issue
by issue ever since. You should give them a try! It's not like reading superhero
comics or any thing like that, great storylines and art-plus you get some insight into the show and some ideas as to where it may go in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Nice try you got 5 right :) + 1 another but you put two characters so I can't say it's correct lol

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks, I know I should read them I just need to push myself to something I don't usually like. Maybe during the winter break, when I'm missing my zombies for christmas :)

I love your allegiance to Carol but she can't always be the center of attention, is it a safe assumption to say that this is open to interpretation based on whom the viewer likes? SO GLAD Daryl sees that car, now he can go try to find Beth, I read this quote regarding Norman/Daryl in THR today: "Also expect to see Daryl fight and try to find Beth as he goes through “a whole hell of a lot.” ~ Norman Reedus". I hope to freaking god Carol accounts for some things she's done b/c she should get a chance to start over but in order for that to happen she has to see how what she did affected others in the group and account for it. I honestly hope she feels some guilt over it in some ways, I mean she did let the Rick/Tyreese/Daryl confrontation happen, she stood back and watched it, she left those bodies to burn where any child could find them, she wasn't going to tell anyone, she wanted it kept secret and that tells me she knew that while her intentions were good, her actions weren't and she NEEDS to come to light with that. She shouldn't be instantly forgiven without that and I Hope we see more of that. Honestly a bit tired of the Carol savior of the apocalypse since she's not the only one there.

  18. "They got Beth !" probably Daryl's line. But I want to see her already!!!! I don't want to wait episode 4 *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  19. Romain, don't feel badly about your love for Carol. I do think you're being objective. This person is the same person who feels the need to make the same comment on every site. Their words are all the same if you notice. It's someone who dislikes the character and cannot stand that they are getting attention. Don't feel like you have to justify your previews to them.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Honestly, I'M getting tired of seeing these comments popping up on every site! It's so obvious that you're the same person just using different usernames. We get that you dislike Carol. But there are a LOT more people who like her. And it's ridiculous that you're accusing Romain of putting her above anyone else. He is clearly not doing that. Just because you don't want to see her name mentioned doesn't mean that she is not a [big] and important part of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  21. fearofthelivings18 October 2014 at 00:42

I'm betting the person that throws up is Eugene!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Take that up with the writers if you're that bothered, Chandra. Romain doesn't write the show. The only person that needed to forgive her was Tyreese. And he did. The fact that Daryl doesn't care what she's done and Rick's accepted her back is eating you up inside. Give it a rest already.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ooh thanks for the spoilers!!! On a scale from 1-10, (No Sanctuary being at least a 8 because of THAT HUG ;) how exciting is this episode going to be for the Caryl shippers?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thanks for the preview. I'm intrigued by what Michonne could say to reveal her feelings. I'll play the guessing game. If I get a certain number right, is there a prize? LOL.

    1. Rick
    2.Carol
    3. Father Gabriel
    4. Glenn
    5. Abraham
    6. Bob
    7. Rick
    8. Tara
    9. Michonne
    10. Daryl

  25. Thanks for the great preview Romain as always, love reading them!

    @Geo N Hopefully this time , it won't be a tie ;)

1- "I owe you everything" - Rick (to tyreese or carol?)
2-"We need to start over. All of us, with each other" - Maggie
3- "Do you have a camp ?" - Father Gabriel
4- "We"re not splitting up again" - Rick
5-"We take a breath, we slow down, shit inevitably goes down" - Abraham
    6-"One more" - Carol
7-"What have you done ? We've all done something" - Rick
    8-"Eugene, what's in D.C. ?" - Sasha
9-"We need supplies, whatever we do next" - Glenn
    10- "They got Beth !" - Daryl

  27. Carol being the center of attention again isn't looking good for her. She's def getting the Andrea treatment.

  28. LOL good job Carol is better at disguising herself than you are Chandra, or Daryl and Rick would be Terminus burger by now. :D

I don't think so ... Kirkman said, Carol is unique and he is excited about what Melissa/Carol delivers on the show!

  31. 1 Rick
    2 Tyreese
    3 Father Gabriel
    4 Glenn
    5 Abraham
    6 Michonne
    7 Rick
    8 Tara
    9 Glenn
    10 Daryl

    Eh? Eh? Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Kirkman also said a character has to earn their death and I think Carol has earned hers and also the more popular a character is the most likely they'll die. Also lets not forget a major character will die. Carol is a major character and one that would be shocking.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Funny though, how all the Beth fans are saying she has this HUGE arc this season and it's gonna be so great and she's going to be so important... yet Carol having the same thing spells a death sentence? But not for Beth though, huh? Beths death is "too obvious" and yet here you all are saying it's OBVIOUS Carol is going to bite it? I don't get the logic. I mean, wha?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks for the great spoilers. It seems likely to me that Daryl hasn't finished with Rick over his banishment of Carol, considering the journalist at hollywood reporter said "Reedus also notes that Daryl and Rick still haven’t had a conversation about the former sheriff dropping Carol off on the side of the road after she killed Tyreese’s girlfriend, Karen. Also expect to see Daryl fight and try to find Beth as he goes through “a whole hell of a lot.” (Note: This is the full quote. The line about Daryl fighting for Beth comes from the journalist, and is not a direct quote from Norman Reedus as other people are trying to say.) I wonder if the issue of Rick's actions don't come up as an issue between Rick and Daryl, and Daryl is the one who thinks what Carol did should be in the past with his line about everyone starting over. Look forward to seeing Daryl defend Carol.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Maybe because everyone and their mother thinks Beth is going to bite it that's why? I personally think someone from S1 will be dying and soon.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think we all knew his storyline in S5 would be finding Beth. I'm glad to see it's starting in ep2

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes, and a lot of people think Beth will be dying this season too. Sad to say, I think it may be Glenn and or Maggie that die this coming season...... SIGH.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Carol fans have been saying Beth was going to die since S2 This is nothing new.

    ReplyDelete
  39. fearofthelivings18 October 2014 at 01:15

MAYBE THE THIRD IS THE CHARM,FOR GLENN!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Glenn won't die until Negan comes along.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I personally think it may be Glenn that dies this season.... SIGH. They shouldn't mess with the Atlanta 5. Maybe they were/are building up Beths character, making more people care about her (because let's be honest, not a lot of people did before she was put with Daryl) so it would have a deeper impact when they kill her off? Just a thought that's run through my mind.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I wonder if it's Sasha, and she's going to have a miraculously fast pregnancy in order to write in Sonequa's pregnancy.

    ReplyDelete
  43. fearofthelivings18 October 2014 at 01:17

    I FORGET YOUR KIRKMAN!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Please stop acting like Daryl is the reason for people loving Beth when Us Beth fans loved her way before Beth and Daryl even had scenes. Also, Beth is going through a character development there is no way she is dying off. The more people say she is the more likely she won't. Keep on keepin on.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't need to be to know Kirkman isn't going to waste Glenn's death on something boring when he can wait until Negan comes on to have the comic fans loving the show even more.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Chandra really if you are going to hate on carol at less change your writing style and don't make it obvious it's you.

Actually if you read the article NR didn't comment about Beth the journalist did.

Also What is your problem did you miss the whole Carol saving everyone asses at Terminus.

Tyreese forgave carol. Rick thanked her for saving them and Daryl doesn't give a flying crap about what Carol did. He hugged the hell out of her in the amazing reunion scene.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Carol fans? Just Carol fans? I think you mean most fans.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yet the ones threatening Kinney's life are Caryl fans wonder why that is? Oh right jealous over Emily working with Reedus. Pathetic

    ReplyDelete
  49. Bob is so getting tainted meat.

  50. Christine Chappell18 October 2014 at 01:24

"Carol has earned hers and also the more popular a character is the most likely they'll die." Your words up there, friend. Beth has become SO much more popular since last seasons shenanigans. You can't say it for Beth but turn it around on Carol. Hypocritical much? Yeesh.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Exaggerating much there Elizabeth? And why are you going from Carol fans to Caryl fans?

    ReplyDelete
  52. fearofthelivings18 October 2014 at 01:25

I don't think Beth dies, but I think she will stay as leader of the hospital and will not return with the group!
or maybe she escapes the hospital and never, reunited with the rest of the group!

    ReplyDelete
  53. The only person getting the Andrea treatment this season is beth not Carol. And it's doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Really? I don't think so when I've seen it first hand myself but keep telling yourself that. Caryl/Carol fans they're all the same.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Beth is not nearly as popular as Carol is .... As was stated below. She also hasn't earned her death .... Yet.

    ReplyDelete
  56. GettingABitTiredofCarol18 October 2014 at 01:28

Which was due to their teaching her own to use weapons. I can't sit and say that you're wrong for your reviews, they're very good and much appreciated. I just hope that you give the same passion and objectivity to E4 which is rumored to be Beth's. Carol is not BAD at all, I like her, but it seems like it's always all about her and I'd love to see a review that doesn't act like she did nothing wrong or that she's the only one doing something. I meant no offense and I apologize

    ReplyDelete
  57. You wish! Kinney was filming just the other day ago so I guess you wish wont be granted lmao

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ok I'm going to guess at the quotes:

    1) Michonne (to Rick maybe? Like the unexpected feelings thing? Maybe not )
    2) Daryl to Rick
    3) Gareth (?)
    4) Glenn
    5) Abraham
    6) Bob (to Sasha)
    7) Rick
    8) Abraham (because I have a theory that Abe finds out that Eugene is lying? But he keeps it to himself. I might be wrong lol)
    9) Rick
    10) Daryl

    ReplyDelete
  59. Chandra M. Jordan18 October 2014 at 01:32

Thank you as always, these tidbits make the wait more tolerable, that's for sure. Question, if you can answer, what's Carol's demeanor? And my guess on another thing is Abe/Rosita push to leave but others don't want to leave without Beth (Daryl, Maggie, etc.), perhaps after they see that car with the cross on it from the trailer? My guesses:

    #1 - Rick
    #2 - Glenn?
    #3 - Father Gabriel
    #4 - Glenn?
    #5 - Daryl
    #6 - Michonne?
    #7 - Daryl?
    #8 - Sasha
    #9 - Maggie?
#10 - has to be Daryl

    ReplyDelete
  60. I didn't even notice Beth in season 2, besides when she tried to "opt out" so... no. I have not been saying that. No one I know has. Way to generalize.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Chandra M. Jordan18 October 2014 at 01:33

I don't know if she's a goner but it does seem like they're building her up from something. Elizabeth was right, they have said a character has to earn their death but didn't Gimple also say that a death could come in the blink of an eye with no warning? Her death would be shocking, that's for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Chandra M. Jordan18 October 2014 at 01:33

the Atlanta originals have been lucky this last season or so

  64. Pamela Moss Daigle18 October 2014 at 01:34

Miss Kinney hasn't filmed in months. She has so much free time she gave a tour of the sets to TWD fans the other day. She has so much time on her hands she's doing numerous concerts that she promotes over the show and plays tour guide for cash. All signs point to her having been killed off around the MSF. I'm not saying it has happened, I'm just saying she has not filmed whatsoever (black limo rumors notwithstanding lolz) so she is either dead or will be popping up like a whack a mole around the finale...

Thanks, Romain, for always supplying us with great tidbits to tide us over until Sunday. I'm going to avoid eating before the show in case the end is uber gruesome...

    ReplyDelete
  68. Exactly, I think one of the originals are going to end up dead.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I find it funny that this 'apology' happened after you were called out.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I don't know if you can answer this, but are we going to see any tension between Daryl and Carol, like over her killing Karen and David etc, or will their bond be as strong or stronger than ever?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Chandra, you're not fooling anyone. You just want to hate on Carol and start a pretend war to make yourself feel better. No wonder actual Beth fans are embarrassed to have you on their "team."

    ReplyDelete
  72. Holy cow! Where you able to get a sneak past her secret cloak of invisibility??!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Could you talk a little about the car chase scene that Daryl partakes in with the car with the cross on the back? When did he notice the car etc. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Did you say WAY worse than the bathtub scene? Because I'm having a hard time picturing a bigger gross-out! Although the first time the guy swings at Glenn and stops short, I bought it; and the second time was pretty much "oh, come on." So as you say, if it seems like one of our favorites might truly bite the dust, that would definitely amp up the tension.

As for your quotes questions, #1 = Rick and #5 = Abraham, and the others I'd be guessing between one or two characters. Nice preview -- you've definitely got me anxious to tune in! Plus this week's Talking Dead is featuring a main cast member, and that ALWAYS starts me wondering ...

    ReplyDelete
  75. So, are you going to admit that was you pretending to be GettingaBitTiredofCarol and insulting the writer, or nah?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Why is this show getting better and better. great writers, kick ass actors, and all around great show cant wait for the new Ep.

    ReplyDelete
  77. In the previews, it looks like Daryl and Carol are going to have some sort of heart to heart. Can you tell us anything about what they talk about?

    ReplyDelete
  78. I love Carol, but I feel like she might bite it this season :/ She's getting so many big moments, which is amazing, but that's what they usually do before a really emotional death, and she's one I feel they would/could definitely kill off even though she is a fan fave.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Chandra - you are really making yourself an object of complete ridicule and you are not doing yourself any favors. While others can express opinions and disagree with each other (sometimes with respect and sadly sometimes without on occasion), you are called out on so so many sites for your absolute unhealthy and frankly ridiculous obsession. Like why do you keep posting pictures of photo shoots of EK the actress on a spoiler site - saying how beautiful she is? Yes she is a lovely looking lady, so is MMB and these two are real people but TSDF is a spoiler site discussing the show! We all get you like Daryl and also NR but you are not a personal friend of his and you can't substitue Beth / EK for yourself in some fantasy relationship - honey it doesn't work that way!! We all get you disagree with anyone supporting Carol (which also includes the show runner by the way) - you don't like the plot developments - which is ok - often many of us do at times - but but you complete maniacal approach as you troll everysite is noticed and is ridiculed. If you can't afford therapy for yourself (which I seriously think you need!) can I suggest you find the 'off' button on your t.v and take up a hobby??

    ReplyDelete
  80. Always appreciate the reviews.
Looking forward to seeing Seth Gilliam (Woot! The Wire!), who delivers the efficient speech and what Michonne opens up about. A scene more disgusting than the trough? Don't know if I'm ready for that.

  81. Over played your hand there, dear. She was not filming just the other day. She did not film this week and before that she was in Los Angeles.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Stop attacking reviewers it makes you look sad and pathetic. SG & Kirkman love Carol and Melissa and it was their choice have Carol save your TV boyfriend and Co. Something you should be grateful and happy about.

And I'm sure when 5.4 comes reviewers will mention beth because she will be the only member from the main cast in it.

Honestly grow up Chandra daryl is a fictional character and Norman doesn't know you even exist.

  85. It's because we are just now seeing this with Beth. It's NEW development with her. She hasn't even reached her peak yet. Carol's arc has been building up to this explosiveness since the very beginning. She's grown so much, and like the producers always say, they like for characters to earn their deaths on this show. Just by looking at the comments here and the group's reaction to seeing her again last Sunday, I'd say Carol has definitely earned it. They want the deaths on this show to MATTER, really impact their audience. Carol would be a huge emotional loss for the group and audience at this point. As much as I love Beth too, if she died now, I honestly don't think it would make that big of an impact, not yet. These writers aren't done with her yet. She still has a long ways to go.

  86. Cant wait for all the Carol scene!

    ReplyDelete

I agree. Everyone thinks Bob died and gets the "tainted meat" scene, just because he hasn't been seen filming. And now, it's the same way with Chad Coleman. The last time he filmed was 3 episodes ago. People just assume they are dead. But with Beth--she's being hidden since the mid season finale. And trust me, Beth DOES NOT get the sniper in the tower role. That has already been proven to be Sasha, as she was seen filming the scene's.

    ReplyDelete
  91. both side of the fence18 October 2014 at 03:00

Sasha will be the sniper in the tower and Michonne or the new cast member will be Rick's love interest. How does Beth get the Andrea treatment?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Yeah I think when it's time for Beth's bottle episode he won't mention Beth at all. Just Carol. That's what I'm expecting or else I will write a very strongly worded comment. Also if any reviewer dares mention Beth at all cause I don't like her and don't care for her so I'll just attack people /sarcasm

Are you high? He only wrote one topic about Carol. She and the strugglers around her actions is the opening sequence. He had to write about her. It's the opening sequence. He talked about a bunch of stuff. How was it biased. The guy is reading this. This isn't the usual magazine article. It's embarrassing, honestly.

  96. you like her right, but yet your name is "Getting a bit tired of carol" rofl..She was the hero of the premier episode of course it will be about her. She did do something wrong, it was addressed, rick banished her, she confessed to Tyrese. She has more than redeemed herself. Her family isn't going forget they owe their lives to her...Carol is taking a front and center role, so deal with the fact people will be talking about her alot. Not too mention she is extremely popular amongst fans. And i do believe you meant offense cause I see these comments all over carol centric articles. I am sure when Beths episode hits there will be more talk about her. I don't really like Beth, but I won't be going around posting comments of why i dislike her and that the writer of the article should be more passionate about other characters.....i mean seriously...just refrain from commenting...google Beth and Daryl and read those articles if you are sick of hearing about Carol.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Lol its does seem like there is a hint of jealousy :) That hug was the best!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Tainted meat happens. I am 1000% sure.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Someone gets bitten, but does not die until ep 3..... something happens first.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I don't think that Daryl agreed with what she did, but I also think he understood. Just before the Governor attacked, Daryl and Rick were going to find Ty to see what he had to say about Carol killing Karen and David. That was Daryl's suggestion because, he obviously did not think she should have been banished. I think Daryl will tell her it wasn't the right decision, but it's over and done.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Spoiler!!!!!
It is Sasha a love interest - the black recovering alcoholic - he is bitten
He takes the place of dale in the comics.
    garren tries to eat him.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Write about what you want to write about and don't apologize for it. I don't even like Carol (although I am coming around because she saved my Pookie and my Officer Friendly) but No Sanctuary was certainly her moment in the spotlight and Melissa McBride (love her!) did an amazing job. How could you not write about her?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Carol has not been my fave, but even I loved the Carol and Daryl hug. I cried my way through the rest of the episode until I saw Morgan and cheered.

I don't understand why so many women hate on Carol and/or Beth because they care for Daryl and he cares for them. I think it's nice that Daryl FINALLY has love in his life. I don't mean romantic love, I mean family. He hasn't really had that his whole life. Be happy for him, damn it. Oh, and also, none of them are real people and being jealous of fictional characters is demented.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I think they just see the car in ep 2, but Beth's ep is ep 4, Slabtown.

    ReplyDelete
  105. no we do NOT all love carol. there are many fans of the show and not all of us are in that group. i still feel that the whole carol is the savior of everyone was contrived. i believe that they gave her this story to redeem her so they can give her an honorable death scene later in the season. i liked carol early on, but grew weary of her character fairly quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Great review/preview. I'm really looking forward to this ep. I love the actor playing Gabriel. Can't wait for those scenes. I'm curious as to whether Eugene's story will follow the comics or if they will surprise us. I've only read a few of the comics. I'm really not into that type of format. This ep sounds like it will be very good.

    ReplyDelete
  107. No offense taken really. Carol had done something wrong, but I understand her action and her motives. I'm glad she saved Rick and kinda redeemed herself.
I don't know about ep. 4 but if it's really about Beth, I'm so looking forward to it. I missed her so much since last season; I appreciate Carol and Beth characters, they weren't made to survive, to fight but despite of everything, they're still alive and they get stronger every episodes..

    ReplyDelete
  108. If No Sanctuary is a 8, I'd say Strangers is a 8 too, there won't be hug but more Caryl scenes :)

    ReplyDelete
  109. Michonne is asked about her sword and her answer completely caught me off guard. It was so touching.
You got 7 ! Congrats. I'll try to find a prize for the first to get the 10 corrects.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Nope neither of them.

    ReplyDelete
  111. It could be interesting. They can still use a time jump to show her pregnant, if the group gets to a secure place ;)

    ReplyDelete
  112. Excellent, you got 8 :) you have watched all the promo and trailers lol

Thanks, I can't wait for sunday and to talk about everything that happens in Strangers :)

    ReplyDelete
  113. That was my thought while watching the episode. They're redeeming Carol so now they can kill her off. It'd be such a mistake to get rid of such an amazing character and actress.
If one character has to die, I want it to be Glenn. I was a big fan of him in the first seasons but since he's with Maggie, he's boring.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Chandra only knows one thing and that is Beth. No matter what forum she is in or what the topic is, she brings up Beth. She has always hated Carol. She attacks people who do not like Beth and believes her opinion is the only one that matters. She basically baits people and then cries when they defend themselves. You are right Mary101, she definitely needs therapy!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Wow Chandra, you spread your hate everywhere you go don't you. You really need to grow up already and understand that your opinion is not the only one that counts. I think people are really getting tired of your mindless rants!

    ReplyDelete
  116. What are you worried about? Beth will sing to the walkers and they won't want to eat her! Please!

    ReplyDelete
  123. unlikely for you that Carol will die this season or next. Due to the following reasons, MMB is one of the best actresses on the show, like, hate or love her character MMB sells it. MMB is still filming with NR constantly. MMB will probably make it to the end. Sorry, but she's nominated for so many awards and won them, they pushing her for Emmy noms again for this season. Its unlikely that an award winning actress will get killed off for an actress like EK, AM, CS, stay on, it makes no sense at all, none and any of the new ones this season. She's their new money maker. Killing off Carol this season or next is like killing off Daryl. The show is promoting her as one of the top three. and the lead female.

  130. I gotta say the ending of this episode is one of the creepiest things i have seen in a television show. Together with that thing from Hannibal, and the people under the bed in The X-Files. I was going to start watch the screener again during the middle of the night, but that ending is so disturbing i'm gonna have a problem going to sleep (so watching it when i wake up today later, sunday).

    ReplyDelete
  136. Thanks. As for Carol, being reunited with everyone isn't as easy as expected. She was rejected and spent times alone, so she needs to readjust.
Abe wants to go and bring Eugene to DC, that's his only mission now.

And for the game you got 4 :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. I can't really. Let's just say when they see that car, Daryl will remember.

    ReplyDelete
  138. The ending is way worse than the bathtub scene IMO. It's on a next level.

You should be a bit anxious, danger is everywhere in TWD

    ReplyDelete
  139. They will have more than one actually, Daryl is interested in what happened to Carol, the last time they saw each other, it was back at the prison.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Yeah, Andrea got the same treatment, and nobody is safe on TWD. But Gimple better not kill Carol. Leaving her was hard enough last year.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Gilliam is great, he's really an excellent actor. TWD know how to cast their actors.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Don't miss the beginning of the ep ;)

I hope Eugene' story will be surprising, and different from the comics. For now, I think it looks like it will be different.
The episode is as great as the premiere, without the big explosion. But there is some action tough.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Will Gareth have a meal?

    ReplyDelete
  155. All right, so now my official plan is to skip dinner, then watch the episode. :)
They are getting just WAY too skilled at upping the gross-out factor in every way.

But I am truly looking forward to Rick's talk with Carl. I remember how they framed their first talk in the hayloft way back at Hershel's farm -- just heartbreaking, and Rick was so right about all the horrible things to come. I like how they use these connection moments between father and son as a touch-point in the series. I remember them echoing that scene in flashback, when Carl had to put down his own mother (SOBS). This device has become such an efficient yet moving way to show how the characters have progressed (and in many ways, devolved).

    ReplyDelete
  156. After having found the full synopsis I can only say: Holy Holy shit. And I start believing that they fooled us a lot with the season 5 Trailer by pretending it would be Gareth about or to who Rick and Abraham are talking.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I just hope we can beat our score of 1 from last week, Lol.

    1. "I owe you everything" - Rick
    2. "We need to start over. All of us, with each other" - Daryl

    4. "We"re not splitting up again" - Glenn
    5. "We take a breath, we slow down, shit inevitably goes down" - Abraham

    7. "What have you done? We've all done something" - Rick
    8. "Eugene, what's in D.C.?" - Sasha
    9. "We need supplies, whatever we do next" - Rick

I think you're gonna beat me this week @Robert Fruin. I haven't been watching a promos and Romain's is the only Preview I have read. Busy week!

    ReplyDelete
  160. If I guess enough times, maybe I'll get them all before it airs. #8 could even be Eugene, if he's sarcastically mocking someone to avoid answering more questions. ;) Did I get any more this time?

1- "I owe you everything" Rick (to Carol)

2-"We need to start over. All of us, with each other" Daryl (to Carol)

3- "Do you have a camp ?" Father Gabriel (to Rick/group)

4- "We"re not splitting up again" Glenn

10- "They got Beth !" Daryl (to Carol)

  166. I don't think spoilers are needed or helpful in guessing these quotes. Three of the lines are included in trailers/promos, so one only needs to recognize the voices. Two characters have said the same/similar things on the show before. There's only one logical choice for #1 and for #10, based on events in previous episodes, IMO. I'm a spoiler hound, but they didn't help me with the remaining three.
