COLLEGE DAYS — After spending the summer enjoying her passionate relationship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), and making sure that Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is adjusting after his return from the dead, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is thrilled to move into the dorm at nearby Whitmore College with her new roommate, Caroline (Candice Accola). Still believing that Bonnie (Kat Graham) has been traveling all summer and will soon join them, Elena and Caroline are surprised when a student named Megan (guest star Hayley Kiyoko) shows up and announces that she will be sharing their dorm room. Katherine (Nina Dobrev) makes an unexpected appearance at the Salvatore house and pleads with Damon to help her now that she is human and vulnerable to her enemies. Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) return to Mystic Falls after spending a wild summer in Europe, where they met a mysterious beauty named Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda). Elena can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong with Stefan (Paul Wesley), and Silas (Paul Wesley) makes a terrifying appearance at the “End of Summer” party in the town square. Sounds like alot is happening. I have a tendency to usually hate new characters, so I'm alittle worried with all these new people, but I do want to see how long Stefan will be under the water.
ReplyDeleteFigures. Elena has a bad feeling about Stefan but both her and Caroline have failed to notice that Bonnie has been dead for over 2 months. They don't find it odd that they haven't heard from her?

ReplyDeleteI love Caroline Dries, I feel this is gonna be a real good episode. I still laugh at the fact that Katherine begs Damon for help. That's just rich! She should've just called Elijah. Unless she did and he said The hell with you Katherine, lol
ReplyDeleteI still thinks "The Originals" is a bad idea but I get it, makes the producers more money.
ReplyDeleteLeks, unfortunately I think that the logic of Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah hanging around Mystic Falls had run thin. I think that Julie Plec et al. wanted to hold on to The Originals for as long as they could because the actors/characters are fantastic but it made no sense for 1000-year old vampires to keep hanging out with very young vampires/teenagers. Klaus can no longer use Elena's blood (though it's still a mystery whether Katherine's now human blood would to make new hybrids), his hybrids are dead, and Caroline is off to college/moving forward with Tyler (for now). There is no reason for him to stay in Mystic Falls. I can imagine Rebekah wanting to try to go to college but other than Matt (who made it clear that their "relationship" was a summer-only thing), she has no lasting relationships with any of the main TVD characters. There is no reason for her to stay in Mystic Falls. And as awesome of a character as Elijah is, his main point of coming to Mystic Falls was to use Elena to get to Klaus. There is now no reason for him to stay in Mystic Falls.
ReplyDeleteSo, I think that there are many more stories that can be explored with the characters of Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah but Mystic Falls/TVD was no longer the place to explore those stories.
In the simplest terms, Elijah basically dumped Katherine in order to focus on his family. I'm sure it hurt her and probably pissed her off. Plus, I imagine that she doesn't want to put it out there that she is now human, especially when it comes to Klaus -- the question being: could Katherine's blood now be used to make more hybrids? I don't think she wants to find out. So I think she will try to steer clear of The Original Family right now.

No one knows that Katherine is human, no one knows that Jeremy is back, no one knows that Silas is loose, no one knows that Bonnie is dead, and no one knows that Stefan is drowning at the bottem of the ocean floor.
ReplyDeleteHonestly IDT Elijah would turn on her in that aspect. I mean when she was originally human, he was on her side b/c he cared for her. I think that even though he "dumped" her to be loyal o Klaus, i still don't feel that he would betray Katherine like that b/c he knows Klaus would kill her. The fact that he still cares for her, idt he wants to see her dead. True she might be hiding from Klaus b/c she doesn't know how to be human, and she might be paranoid thinking Elijah would turn on her. So yeah I could see her keeping it a secret. As far as her becoming human again, and she being the 2nd Doppelganger, I really think her blood could make more hybrids. Maybe that's what she's thinking too, which is why she's hiding. But my question is, when the show returns it'll be a time jump.,..sooo where the hell has she been all these months?? On the street?? LOL i think this is the best karma ever for her character. I love to hate Katherine, sometimes i go back and forth. I love to hate her. Then sometimes i just hate her. Smh... but anyways I'm REALLY excited to see her as human. I mean she's been a vamp for 500 plus yrs. What i really want (and i've wanted this for a long time) is for them to give flashbacks and see if she ever bothered to look for her child!!! I always wanted that. Sure her kid is dead now. But i would like to know if she ever bothered to track her kid down. If they don't do the flashback of that in this season, I hope they do it before the series is over.
