HIT HBO SERIES TRUE BLOOD KICKS OFF SIXTH SEASON JUNE 16
The Authority is in flames. TruBlood is in short supply. As Bill comes to terms with his newfound powers after emerging reincarnated from a pool of blood, humans are in open conflict with vampires like never before. Meanwhile, Sookie and Jason must steel themselves for an encounter with their parents’ killer: the mysterious and ancient Warlow.
The hit series TRUE BLOOD kicks off its ten-episode sixth season SUNDAY, JUNE 16 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO, followed by other new episodes on subsequent Sundays at the same time. Alan Ball (creator of the Emmy®-winning HBO series “Six Feet Under”) created the show, which is based on the bestselling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.

OMG I can't wait !
ReplyDeleteMeh, nothing about this encourages me to watch. :/
ReplyDeleteLeast excited I've been about TB returning ever. But maybe I'll feel differently once I watch?
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing Warlow and Bills new powers
ReplyDeleteOnly ten episodes ='(
ReplyDeleteCan't wait though, always such a long time between seasons!
My Tara BETTER be okay.
ReplyDeleteI plan on giving it a chance too, but come on, were you expecting anything different? Alan Ball left the show in shambles, and these writers are probably too burnt out to attempt to make any kind of recovery, so they'll probably just continue what Ball was doing. On a small bright spot, I did hear earlier in the year that there would be less storylines and more focus. This show has been lacking a center, and if the show can have that then maybe it could do better. I don't feel the descriptions sound too convoluted, and it sounds like a lot of stuff could finally intertwind each other. We shall see, but I won't get my hopes up.
ReplyDeleteThe ridiculously bloated cast has been my chief complaint for years. If they addressed that it would tighten everything up and fix so many problems, if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteWhat could these descriptions have said that could possibly encourage you to watch?
ReplyDeleteYep, that is a problem. I think the bigger problem is that Alan Ball had a gigantic case of ADD and decided that a lot of these characters should have storylines of their own that have nothing to do with anything else, and that really screws up the narrative and destroys the momentum of the main story. I think the narrative is only as messy as the writers allow it to be, and Alan Ball made it really messy.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The amount of characters isn't a problem until they are all treated with the same amount of focus. Plenty of other shows with large casts have made it work by learning what's important about the story first.
ReplyDeleteInteresting storylines involving the characters I grew to love. This season just looks like chaotic mess. Gun pointing, sexy smirks and menacing looks only don't cut it for me, seen it all before on this show.
ReplyDeleteSo in other words, you have no idea what you want to see on this show. It's okay, I don't either. I say that because I can't think of anything that can be described as an interesting storyline at this point. What could we see that's good that we haven't seen?
ReplyDeleteOh, Luna's back. Glad to hear that, thought she may be written out.
ReplyDeleteShe's only mentioned for the first episode and then there are references to Emma's future and Janina Gavankar isn't listed with the other returning characters in the main bit of the press release... so my guess is she isn't going to be around for long.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm does Luna die in the first episode? And it doesn't mention Tara again after episode 2! --Very little Pam is mentioned also :(
ReplyDeleteI think these story lines sound way more coherent than last year. I don't think too many characters is the problem, as it is, having unique ways for them to cross paths more often, rather than keep certain character's separated for too long. Plus from all the spoilers that have been released some of these new characters and plots I think are interesting, since they relate to Jason and Sookie directly.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to the stuff relating to Sookie and Jason. Jason's my favorite on the series and I tend to always like Sookie most when she's interacting with him. They're very sweet together as brother and sister.
ReplyDeleteI have the sense she'll be killed off. I like Luna, she's one of the better additions lately, so ... boo to that. But I'm expecting it to happen.
ReplyDeleteI think you're absolutely spot on.
ReplyDeleteThanks! All we can do is hope for a good season :)
ReplyDeleteYeah! They always have great dynamics!!
ReplyDeleteSteve Newlin!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the Northman's family hour, Tara completely changes the mix.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it. I mean, just by reading these you can tell it's going to be more of the same convoluted mess. There's too many storylines and characters and most of them are just not interesting. I plan on giving the show a chance since there's a new showrunner, but from the looks of it there's more of the same.
