After all that ooh-ing and ahhh-ing on Twitter over this episode, it sounds like it will be a huge shocker. This snippet doesn't do it. At least they should tell us if we are talking a mytharc or emotional shocker. This episode has suddenly become a lot more interesting than its title implies.
We had 3 Alastairs but Chris was the best and I enjoy both Megs for different reasons. Jared was so scary when he was Meg possessed. Pure evil. I loved it.
I asked this before but never got an answer. Are fans on other forums as upset about Sam not looking for Dean, as some of us are?
I don't really go all that much around other sites, I mostly browse here but from the little I've read a great majority of fans are plenty upset with Sam not looking for Dean and those that aren't openly against it are trying to put forward reasons for him doing so; all of which are unconvincing! X
There is no way to make Sam 'not looking' believable. There's just no way he would have walked away without a second thought about where Dean might have disappeared to.
Noboby can anybody justify tha tbehaviour at all unless he was manipulated by something supernatural. X. The excuse Carver gives about them having promised that if one disappeared the other wouldn't look for them is rubbish, for they have never said that.
All they did say in seasion three is that they weren't going to sell their souls again and put themselves in the hands of the crossroads demon, something which Sam then promptly tried to do in season four, ignoring that agreement altogether! X
I hope the writers fix it because if that's the way Sam felt, I can't even really accept that everything is alright now because other than throwing accusations at each other, Sam and Dean have never talked about it.
I know it's said that writers should 'show and not tel'l but a bit of an explanation on the 'not looking' would be appreciated by many many fans, I'm sure.
I am an Indian. Most important thing to remember is, WE STILL PRAY OUR GODS. Our Gods are NOT for some TV shows to toy with. This show has already done enough insult to Indian Gods, by portraying Kali and Ganesh as Human eaters and as inferior to Lucifer in the episode "Hammer of Gods". At least thousand temples are there for Kali and there are at least hundred thousand temples for Ganesh in India and there are a billion people who pray these Gods. So Supernatural writers owe an apology to all those people(I still am very angry at the obscene dressing of Kali in the episode). And unlike Pagan Gods and Norse Gods, which I think hardly has any followers these days, no Hindu I know of, would allow some writers/authors create some ridiculous versions of Indian Gods in order to adapt them to their tv shows/movies. So, its better as long as Supernatural don't really include Indian Gods, because it is really impossible to combine Supernatural universe with our Gods without actually altering them. And most of the Indian legends some or the other way connected to Gods. I am NOT against Indian mythology being explored as long as there is proper research and respectable portrayal of Hindu Gods.
I know North India, South India and North-East India. What the hell is East India? So, for the First time in Supernatural, I guess, we are going to hear some mantras in Sanskrit instead of Latin, if at all they exploring Indian Mythology. Or we are just going to see an Indian without Indian mythology? I hope at least this time, they don't insult Indian Gods and Hinduism once again.
I am not Indian, but I've studied the culture and Hindu religion for years, and I must say - YES! THIS. The episode you mentioned sent me into freaking FITS because of the bad portrayals. Not to mention the utter WTF-ness of the rakshasa in season two.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
this doens't help at all russ
ReplyDeleteNOPE. NOT ENOUGH afsghfjdkdsd

ReplyDeleteEmotional shocker please <3333 I hope *-*
ReplyDeleteI must have missed... Which "ooh-ing" and "ahhh-ing"?
ReplyDeleteRuss just read the script and was very excited about it. Guy Bee and Jim Michaels chimed in from that point.
ReplyDeleteThank you for replying! I *did* miss it!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it'll be an emotional and mytharc related? Especially with the Zap2it spoiler, I think both are connected from now on...
I'm starving for mytharc. Anything.
ReplyDeleteI thought that was about 8x20?
ReplyDeleteRuss specifically said "reading 8.19" and then Guy put 8.19 in his responding tweet.
ReplyDeleteI don't know whether that's a good omen or not.
ReplyDeleteOther times that there have been excited tweets, the episodes have been less than stellar and it usually means a huge re-boot or slap to continuity.
I hope I'm wrong and it really will be something to write home about..:)
Maybe we'll get some indian mythology. They have a respectable amount of gods and legends too.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for another MOTW episode as I'm not enthusiastic about the season's weak Hell-closing myth-arc.
Demons are the most entertaining villans on SPN, I don'want them banished. :)
OH YEAH, bring back Chris' Alastair. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm all for it. He was terrific!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind seeing Azazel again too. He was at his scariest when he was being all friendly, and the best villans are those who do that.
The ones who just right out torture don't come over as spine-chillingly evil to me.
Then I also loved the original bad, evil Meg of the first seasons and I'm not even talking about the meat suit but the attitude. :)
