    Historic figures and well established fictional characters should always strive for as much accuracy as possible. Lancelot has been around for what, 1,000 years or so? His look should probably reflect the culture that created him, Western Europe.

    Not so. Fiction is fiction because it's based on people making stuff up. If everyone had to strive for accuracy with their characters and storytelling, companies like DC Entertainment, Disney, and Marvel would be out of business. This is exactly why the term "creative license" exists.

    I think what people aren't realising here is the fact that it isn't exactly historical accuracy. Mainly being because it's fictional, meaning it was made up. So who gives a shit how close to the story it actually is? You're forgetting that this is a show about Fairytails and that Dwarves are as tall as everyone else in it, and Rumple killed the Fairy Godmother.

    Besides, this isn't a rant for any purpose anyway, this is just someone's bleak attempt to get a bit of attention. If they really gave a shit about what was going on in the storyline they would go directly to the people who wrote it instead of trying get up people's backs on here.

    So, word to the wise; stop being an attention seeking whore and look at the fact that the show twists quite a lot of things anyway and there are only a select few that seem to have the need to be overly picky about tiny details. Get a grip, and a life.

    Lancelot usually IS portrayed as someone who looks and IS overall righteous, yet brings bad results and bad choices.

    The scene where Boyd stands up against Allison in 2x11 for example is exactly what sold me him as lancelot, for example :)

    Except that its a fictional show about fictional universe, with rules establishing those characters as ALTERNATE versions of real and not-real historical and fairytale figures. Its not set in our world, its not set in our history.

    I disagree that Lancelot is righteous, especially not if the story is told with King Arthur as a hero. Lancelot gets a few more liberties if Arthur is portrayed as old or if the story is told from Guinevere's perspective. But a lot of Lancelot mythology is much more knight errant than knight hero.

    I always saw lancelot as someone who is both. He will do righteous things, and righteous goals, yet at the same time, he can succumb to temptations and do the wrong thing.

    Lancelot that I remember from Arthurian mythos is someone who would risk his life for you one day and get in bed with your wife the next. Its a very gray morality concept of character in most of versions that I have read.
