The Confession - Kiefer Sutherland talks season 2

I would love to do a second part of The Confession. There certainly is a story there that Brad Mirman, who wrote [the series], and I have discussed. John Hurt had a wonderful time on the show as I did and so we would both love to do that.

I think the real challenge, because I think The Confession was from a production standpoint quite high end with regards to a lot of things that have been produced for the Internet. The real difficulty is trying to figure out how to galvanize and pull in an audience because the Internet is so fragmented that there is no real kind of central post, if you will. The movie business has theaters. Television has set scheduling. The Internet is kind of when you want it, how you want it and trying to really corral an audience was what we found to be the most difficult. But I think that that’s starting to explain itself. The more things are produced for the Internet, the clearer it becomes how to go about finding that audience.

[ANNABELLE] 30s, Eastern European or Middle Eastern, beautiful, earthy, charming. A bit of a Gypsy, Annabelle is the lone woman on the crew of the Exodus, part of a group of eco-activists roaming the Amazon to take on some of the illegal logging vessels that have been encroaching on the rainforest. As friendly and affable as the rest of the crew, Annabelle bonds with Tess (Leslie Hope), listening with trustworthy sympathy to the story of her lost husband. Chuck - Series Finale - Review

It's twenty minutes past ten, when the final moments of Chuck aired on television and I still find my heart in my throat, my hands shaking, and adrenaline coursing through my veins.

I could pick out every scene of this two hour finale, piece by piece, and tell you what I liked or didn't like but that would be absolutely moot. But just in case you wanted to know: I loved every single second of it. Every. Single. Second. Everyone, cast and crew and writers, was on their game — and I think that these final two hours were, mostly, perfect. Once again, the penultimate episode was better than the actual finale (I think), depending on what you like, but I think that tonight's series finale proved yet again that Chris Fedak is actually the best Chuck writer.

He just knows how to blend all of the elements perfectly. That's not surprising, seeing as it's his show. But sometimes I feel like he doesn't get enough credit for his talent, his skill, and his gusto (which is a formal way of saying his b*lls).

That same gusto showed yet again during the final scene of Chuck: Sarah laughing and crying on the beach as Chuck tells her their love story… and then she tells him to kiss her, and they kiss, and they're on the beach together. Their story is just beginning. It's not ending, it's not just continuing, there are still so many stories to tell — and even if we might not get the chance to see it: we know.

Sarah tells Chuck to trust her in the pilot because she knows the Spy World, but now Chuck has asked Sarah to trust him because he can teach her the world she doesn't know. And it was beautiful.

I can see (and understand) naysayers thinking there wasn't enough closure (my sister included), but how un-Fedak and un-Chuck is that? Very. And, personally, I think there was enough closure. We could have gotten that usual series ending where everyone is just standing around waiting for it to end already, but that would have been mundane. These last two episodes still have me shaking. That, my friends, is good television — good storytelling.

Sure, it would have been nice to see Chuck and Sarah kiss in their apartment, or in their house with the red door and the white picket fence, or maybe continuing to practice for future kids… but I still imagine all of those things happening. Chuck and Sarah kiss on that beach, and Sarah's memory comes back but not before she falls in love with him again (not that it would take long), and they move in and start their business, and they begin a family, and Casey comes back and Morgan and Alex are there, and Awesome and Ellie visit for Christmas…

I could go on. But I think you get it.

Chris Fedak doesn't write endings, he writes prologues… every, single season. And even the original series finale was Chuck and Sarah kissing, finally being together in "Chuck vs the Other Guy." Yes, it was tragic. But more so, it was heartbreaking, it was heartwarming, it was nerve-wracking, it was hilarious, and it was perfect.

Sarah's Intersect story allowed us to relive the reasons (and even the moments) we fell in love with this series in the first place. Her ability to believe Chuck, to tell him her feelings (or lack thereof), to want him to kiss her, to break through the memory-wiping and begin to remember, it just proves how much of an epic love story Chuck and Sarah are. Regardless of whether or not she had her memories back, Sarah had been affected by Chuck. Nothing could change that.

Fedak was able to end the series with those words he always wanted to: "Kiss me."

And Chuck and Sarah aren't the only ones whose stories continue… Jeffster! takes on Germany, Big Mike gets a Subway shop in the Buy More, Ellie and Awesome save lives, Casey gets the girl, and Morgan and Alex take the next step. But as for Chuck and Sarah, sitting on that beach, having their first kiss, well…

"There were no words, because we knew we'd spend the rest of our lives together."

Other thoughts:

I loved that we had this last season with an Intersectless Chuck, and I think I've expressed this in my reviews, but it made the Chuck character much more interesting. In fact, we had several episodes without mention of the Intersect at all, which were the best of this season, proving this show could have thrived without it anyway.
All those pilot callbacks. I loved them all. And callbacks to classic Chuck stuff: water fountain, dancing, pathetic Chuck, I could go on.
My heart is still in my throat. Counting down the last seconds and having it still be tied up in a bow (or not!!!!) had me so nervous (and anxious).
The music was so perfect, as per usual.
This Quinn character really upped the ante, eh? So much for just spending time with these characters until the end.
I disagree that Sarah's growth was just regressed. She didn't change back to her season one self. She was malleable, she was willing to hear of her love story with Chuck, she talked about her feelings with Chuck, she wanted him to kiss her. And she was beginning to remember: the Wienerlicious, the porn virus, and "Sarah + Chuck." And even if you think she doesn't remember, how amazing is it that no matter what, Chuck and Sarah will still find their way to each other? They are meant to be together. How much of an epic love story is that?
I keep adding stuff to this post because I'll never really be done explaining how much I loved this show.
What am I going to do with myself now that this show is over?
God? How perfect were these two hours really?

Thank you, Chuck. Thank you for five seasons of amazing, heartbreaking, epic, hilarious, dramatic, mysterious, suspenseful, fantastic, gut-wrenching, beautiful television. Thank you to everyone who made Chuck possible. You have absolutely no idea how much you affected my life. Thank you. Goodbye, Chuck. I will miss you dearly.

24's Kiefer Sutherland returns to television in Tim Kring's new thought-provoking and intriguing FOX drama series Touch.

The series from Heroes creator follows Martin Bohm(Sutherland), a single father whose wife died in the 9/11 attacks and is left alone to raise his 11-year-old son, Jake Bohm(David Mazouz), who is believed to be autistic. The pilot episode opens to Jake sitting on top of an electricity tower as her informs the audience that everyone in this world is in some way, shape or form connected. Obsessed with numbers and somehow unable or unwilling to speak, Jake is sent to an institution after a social worker, Clea Hopkins(Gugu Mbatha-Raw) comes to evaluate and conclude that it is best for Jake to be put in the institute. What unfolds is a string of global events—a man looking for his missing phone; a young woman with aspiring to become a singer; and a young boy faced with an economical family dilemma—that somehow find their way to connect together all through the numbers that Jake writes out.

From the innovative title sequence to the very last minutes of the pilot, extraordinary cinematography is incorporated to tell this story of social connectivity. The pilot is not only well-written, engaging and impeccably executed, but also manages to tug at your emotions, especially with the relationship between the father and son pair.

The series itself seems like a unusual concept for a television series, as one could assume that there is no life that could live beyond the pilot for narrative like this. However, upon finishing the premiere episode I can confidently say that not only will the pilot leave you pondering what will happen next, but it also makes you eager to get the next installment immediately. FOX has a new hit on their hands, one that is not only interesting but also magnetically interesting.

Do you see that picture at the top? That amazing image of Leslie, Ben and the jackass knocked out on the floor that i made super big? Yeah that one. I am fairly certain that the writers came up with that image and then wrote the rest of the episode around it. Normally that would be a bad thing, but Parks pulled it off, as usual, in another amazing episode. This wasn’t a groundbreaking episode per se, but it sets up some interesting questions for the rest of the season while still being hilarious which in my book makes a fantastic episode.

First let’s talk Leslie. We’re four seasons in and at this point most people should have a good handle on her and what makes her tick. We have also seen different sides to Leslie throughout the season, which I’ve distilled down into three categories; Overachiever, Goofy but Sane, and Batshit Insane. The Overachiever Leslie is the default; she works hard, singlehandedly does the job of like four people, only gets three hours of sleep a night, etc. Goofy but Sane is for when Leslie starts to act a little silly but she’s still fairly grounded; like putting together PCP, stealing a painting of herself as a centaur, and putting together a committee to hunt down and kill a possum. Batshit Insane Leslie appears from time to time, most often when she’s drunk off her ass on Snake Juice, and is the most dangerous of the bunch. She made an appearance tonight after a man in a focus group said that he didn’t like Leslie, no real reason. This sent out the Batshit Insane Leslie Bat Signal, and off she went stalking the guy and putting together a dossier binder on him, setting up a bowling meet and greet event, and then specially sending him an invitation so that she could spend some time with him. Because who can resist Leslie’s charm and free beer? Well Derek can apparently. We’ll discuss the bowling alley events a little more later, but Leslie cools down in Goofy but Sane mode, refusing to apologize in a press conference and tells Derek in front of the press that he’s a jerk. Which brings us back to the focus group that began the episode. Originally they were shown a video of Leslie in Overachiever Mode; confident on the issues, intelligent, but maybe a little bit boring. Oh and short. At the end of the episode they see a video of Leslie at the press conference in Goofy but Sane mode and they love her. She went rogue, and as we’ve seen in real life elections that can be very appealing. Goofy but Sane mode is a happy balance between the Overachiever and Batshit Insane Leslie, and if she’s going to win this race she needs to stick to her perfect bowl of porridge.

The other issue that I wanted to talk about is Leslie and Ben’s relationship and how the campaign has changed it for better or worse. In one aspect Ben has turned into a sort of Leslie wrangler, making sure that the Batshit Insane Leslie is kept at bay. His attempts in this episode were pretty unsuccessful, but it was definitely a defining moment in their relationship. Initially when Ben became her campaign manager I thought that working together in a high stress campaign might adversely affect their relationship, but instead Ben seems to be adapting to their expanding relationship quite nicely. They make quite a team that are fun to watch, he keeps her in check, and as we saw in the campaign ad episode she needs him to be mean when she can’t. Or to throw a punch.
We had two smaller sub-plots this episode, although one was really meant to facilitate the other. It’s fundraising time, and the remainder of the gang are spending the night making phone calls and collecting money. Unbeknownst to the fundraising Maniac that is Chris, Millicent is on her way to break up with him. Why? Who knows. Not important. Nothing to see here, now move along. What is important though is that April, GASP, felt real emotion towards Chris and took pity on him. April and Andy’s characters have remained fairly static since they were married, so this was a step in the right direction for April. Also her impersonations were fantastic, it’s so refreshing to see her step out of the April character. The actress, Aubrey Plaza, has stand up impersonations posted online from before she was on Parks. Check out the Sarah Silverman one, it’s dead on.

Random Thoughts:

I’m fairly sure that the people they get to do focus groups are just about the worst sampling of the population that they could find.
I lost count of the number of times in this episode Leslie tells someone to ask Ron about how good she is at bowling.
The Pawnee Monoplex? So one theatre? Oh boy. That’s making Muncie look like a real bustling city.
Oh god, I nearly died of laughter as Leslie tried to look ‘laid back’. Amy Poehler is amazing with physical comedy, and definitely nails it throughout the episode.
Those are some cheap hamburgers and hot dogs, but if Ron Swanson endorses them the food poisoning can’t be that bad, right?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Louis Vuitton bowler purse actually used to store a bowling bag, but of course Tom needs something ritzy to house his E720 ball.
Tom is a professional Granny Style Bowler! And kicking ass too.
I didn’t think Tom could get more annoying, in a good way, and then I heard him cry over a hurt finger. The high pitched voice and crumpled face was perfect!
Did anyone else think that Ben’s punch looked a little weird? My guess is he hasn’t beaten up too many people in his life, Batman needs to get some more practice.
Oh Leslie, you and your ridiculous newspaper headlines have been cracking me up since season one.
I genuinely felt sooo bad for Chris when he tried to tell April why it was good that Millicent broke up with him, and then couldn’t come up with a reason. It’s hard to believe sometimes that these aren’t real characters.
On the other hand, does this leave room for Chris and Ann to get back together? Hmmmm.
Why isn’t Shauna Malway-Tweep in with the other reporters? Missed opportunity.
Lately Parks has been pulling their political satire from the real world, but I think this episode might be completely original. Or is there a campaign manager punching story that I missed on CNN?

Welcome to this years SpoilerTV Cancellation Predictor.

Last year each week we updated our data (see the notes below about how we get our data) in order to see if we could predict which show(s) would be renewed or cancelled. As you can see from last years summary, we did pretty well, with the exception of Chuck, Fringe, Community, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour and The Chicago Code our table was pretty accurate.

This index is by no means a 100% accurate guide about if your show is safe or in danger and should be seen as a bit of FUN.

NOTE: That until we have at least 3-4 weeks of data for each show that this table is not going to be very accurate and it will vary a lot each update. Once we have 3-4 weeks of data we'll post our predictions for the Season ahead and we can then track how we are doing. We'll try to update the full Cancellation Table every couple of days as we get new data in.

Please let us know if there are any shows missing (only new and returning shows from ABC/FOX/CW/CBS/NBC will be included) and if there are any of the shows below that have already been renewed etc and we'll update the color coding. I did this in a hurry so there may be a few omissions. I'll give it a big tidy as we go on and get more data in. You can access this page via the Features Menu or by bookmarking this page.

Notes:
1) The Higher the Index Rating the more likely a show is to get cancelled, lower numbers = safety.
2) This is an ongoing exercise that I hope to refine each week to make the index more accurate.
3) Only the major networks are included currently ie ABC/FOX/CW/CBS/NBC.
4) This is a weekly update of all the shows using our own formula based on the viewing numbers and + 7 Numbers. These 2 factors are the main weighting of the Index number, however we also factor in things such as the Network they are on (eg CW shows get lower numbers), the day of week they air (eg Fridays are lower numbers), DVR Numbers and +7 numbers,DVD/Blu-Ray Sales,Production Costs, Cast Contracts/Availability, Syndication, online popularity such as streamed views and Torrents etc.
5) Shows still might not get renewed despite good numbers due eg a show coming to an end of run eg Chuck is in it's finale season no matter what the ratings are etc or could be due to key cast wanting to leave after their contracts have expirted. An example might be Supernatural if it’s two leads, Jared and Jensen wanted out, would Supernatural be renewed even if it had good numbers but no leads for the new season? etc
6) Shows that have been renewed for a New Season are marked in Blue
7) Shows with an Index over 3.00 are likely to be cancelled, 2.50-2.99 - in danger and less that 2.50 safe. Although shows nearer 2.50 are more in danger than a show with a lower index.

-Ratings Breakdown:
American Idol is down, but certainly not out as dominant Fox led the Thursday overnights with a 1.1 rating point advantage over second-place CBS. Two-thirds of the Eye net’s schedule were, however, encore telecasts. In the very distant No. 3 spot was NBC, followed by ABC and, of course, The CW.

American Idol kicked-off the evening for Fox with an 11.1 rating/17 share from 8-9 p.m., which compared to one year earlier (14.2/21 on 1/27/11) was off by 22 percent. Next was episode three of drama The Finder with a 5.6/ 9 at 9 p.m. and retention out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of American Idol (11.8/18) of an improved 47 percent. One week earlier, The Finder scored a 4.7/ 7 out of a 12.4/19 for Idol at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 19. One year earlier, former occupant (and parent series) Bones averaged a 7.9/12.

Over at CBS, week three of sitcom Rob! was equal to last Thursday with a second-place 7.2/11 at 8:30 p.m. (three week overnight track: 8.3/13 – 7.2/11 – 7.2/11). Comparably, Rob! outdelivered a repeat of year-ago occupant $#*! My Dad Says (5.7/ 9 on 1/27/11) by 26 percent, with retention out of The Big Bang Theory (#2: 10.3/16 at 8 p.m.) of 70 percent. Keep in mind that the year-ago installment of $#*! My Dad Says aired out of a repeat of The Big Bang Theory.

CBS capped off the evening with encore telecasts of Person of Interest (#1: 7.0/11) and The Mentalist (#1: 6.4/11) from 9-11 p.m. Chances of a second season for Person of Interest are very optimistic.

NBC could not compete with its combination of 30 Rock (#3: 3.0/ 5), which has never been a ratings success, Parks and Recreation (#4: 2.7/ 4), another episode of 30 Rock (#3: 3.1/ 5), a repeat of relocated Up All Night (#4: 2.3/ 4) and recent legal entry The Firm, which lagged at a 2.9/ 5 at 10 p.m. Comparably, The Firm is weaker than recent failed occupant Prime Suspect, with overnight erosion from year-ago occupants 30 Rock and Outsourced of an average 11 percent.

Elsewhere, ABC populated this fourth Thursday in January with encore telecasts of Wipeout (#3: 2.9/ 5), Grey’s Anatomy (#3: 3.0/ 5) and Private Practice (#3: 2.3/ 4). And The CW aired theatrical The Covenant, which lagged at a 1.2/ 2 (#5) from 8-10 p.m. As a reminder, ABC will test Private Practice out of Dancing With the Stars for four weeks beginning in March to give upcoming Shonda Rhimes political fixer drama Scandal a shot in the post Grey’s Anatomy slot.

Speaking of Dancing with the Stars, the upcoming new competitors will be announced live on Good Morning America on Tuesday, February 28.

RACHEL NICHOLS AND VICTOR WEBSTER STAR IN CONTINUUM, SHAW MEDIA’S NEW ORIGINAL DRAMA SERIES

Reunion Pictures today announced that production is underway on Continuum, an original one hour drama-action series about a policewoman from 2077 who travels back in time and teams with a present day cop to track down escaped convicts from her future. Continuum is slated to premiere in Canada on Shaw Media’s specialty channel, Showcase in spring 2012.

When a group of fanatical terrorists escapes their planned execution in the year 2077, they vault back in time to the year 2012, sweeping dedicated CPS Protector, Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols), along with them. Stuck in the past and unable to get back to her husband and son, Kiera concentrates on bringing down the terrorists before they can wreak havoc in our present. Kiera receives unexpected assistance from a teen tech genius Alec Sadler (Erik Knudson). Impersonating a member of local law enforcement, Kiera also forms an uneasy alliance with her detective partner Carlos Fonnegra (Victor Webster).

“We’ve been excited about this show from the day Simon Barry told us the story,” says Reunion Pictures Tom Rowe. “It’s attracted a lot of terrific talent on both sides of the camera. Shaw Media shares our belief that smart writing, a great cast and a highly creative production team will bring us all success.”

Starring Rachel Nichols (Criminal Minds, Alias) Victor Webster (Castle, Melrose Place) Erik Knudson (Jericho, Scream 4) the cast also includes Stephen Lobo (Smallville, Little Mosque On The Prairie), Roger Cross (24,The Gates, Fringe), Lexa Doig (V, Stargate SG-I), Omari Newton (Blue Mountain State, Sophie), Luvia Petersen (The L Word), and Terry Chen (Combat Hospital).

Continuum is created by Executive Producer Simon Barry (The Art of War) while Jeff King (White Collar, The Black Donnellys) is Executive Producer/Show Runner. Reunion Pictures partner Tom Rowe is Executive Producer. Directors for the series include Emmy Award winner and DGA nominee Jon Cassar (24, The Kennedys, Terra Nova) and Patrick Williams (Shattered) who also serves as Executive Producer. The creative team includes the Emmy nominated Director of Photography Joel Ransom ( Band of Brothers, Camelot, The X Files) and Production Designer Chris August (Battle In Seattle, War).

Announcing the SpoilerTV Image Archive Gallery (*Updated 27th Jan 2012)

Update: 27th Jan 2012 We're pleased to say that we now have over 65,000 Images in our Gallery and over 5500 Albums totalling a whopping 40GB+ of diskspace.

Thanks to all our great helpers in getting so many images uploaded.

As we teased earlier, we're pleased to announce the opening of the our very own Image Archive Gallery!

It's been probably one of the most requested features from all the great feedback people have been giving us and after a LOT of work we're please to announce that we finally after 4 years have our own gallery.

Now, before I get into how to use it, how you can embed images on your own site, it would not be fair to begin without thanking a few people who have made this possible.

First and foremost a MASSIVE thanks to our very own SpoilerTV reader, Darq, who has given up countless hours and provided us with a huge amount of his personally collected photos. A big big thanks my friend. I'd also like to thank b3rt4 for his help in uploading, as well as providing invaluable testing and info. Also, a big thanks to Adam our Community Manager here at SpoilerTV for helping configure the albums, descriptions and show icons. It's been a lot of work and without their help it would not have been possible.

Ok, lets get to the details.

1) The Gallery currently has over 13,000 Images in some 1000+ Albums!
2) This is just a fraction of what we hope to upload over the coming week/months.
3) To Access the Gallery just goto this link SpoilerTV Gallery
4) The Gallery will be added to the main menu later today.
5) All Shows are listed Alphabetically and all current/new shows will be on the Main Gallery page
6) For Cancelled/Old/Retired Shows, they can be found via the Archived/Old Show Album. It's a great way to remember some of our old favourite shows.

7) The Gallery might initially be a little slow but that is due to the number of photos we're still uploading as well as everyone clicking on the link to view it. This will improve shortly.
8) Each show we've tried to split into Seasons and also Cast Promotional and Wallpers/Posters etc
9) We hope to add other Categories to each show to include Albums such as Set Photos, Fan Art, DVD Covers etc.
10) We will also be posting all the Promotional Photos and Set Photos etc that we normally post on this gallery and this will allow you to copy the images very easily for posting onto your own site/blog. When you are on an album which shows all the Thumbnails, at the bottom of this screen is the embed code that you can simply copy and paste onto your site.

10) Remember this is an ongoing exercise and we hope to continue to add new content. If you see a show missing or photos missing this is to be expected.
11) We're still updating some of the artwork for the Show logos on each page but this again will be an ongoing thing.
12) You can search for a show, actor, character and it should return where possible the Albums that they are in

13) Also, at the bottom of the screen is a link to the Archive View, this is not the same as the Archived/Old Shows above but tries to list all photos by Year/Date taken.

14) You can also subscribe to any Album, Sub-Albums RSS feed to obtain updates when new photos are added to the album. The RSS Feed link is displayed at the bottom of the page next to the Archive View link as shown above.

A popular book series from Ayelet Waldman could become a drama series for fall on CBS.
The network on Thursday gave a thumbs-up to three drama pilots, including one based on Waldman’s Mommy Track Mysteries series about a former public defender who becomes a private investigator to keep from being bored to death as a stay-at-home mom.

Another drama in the works for fall comes Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas) and Greg Walker and is a period piece set in the 60s about Ralph Lamb — a rodeo cowboy turned longtime sheriff of Las Vegas.

CBS also greenlit the Joel Silver pilot Quean, described by the network as an “edgy and independent Millennial hacker girl who teams up with an Oakland police detective to solve crimes.” Alternative title: Lisbeth by the Bay?
