The time has come for us to declare a 2023 Readers' Choice Performer Of The Year.

Only the performers that won a monthly Readers' Choice in 2023 will be eligible to be voted on by readers.
Voting is still the same as during a typical month. Please use the comment section to argue why your performer of the year deserves the first spot. Please leave a thoughtful and well-worded comment that captures the essence of the nominated performance. Your comment can be picked to be used in the results post.

We will recognize the performers that place in the Top 3, but only the winner will get a bigger write-up looking back at their performances from throughout the year.

Today we have the last set of polls for round 1. So far it has been a pretty even Cup, with only a handful of blowouts and one tight race. The round 1C polls are still open for another hour if you still need to vote in them. So far, the following characters have made it to round 2: Rebecca Pearson (second highest votes), Jessica Knight, Dexter Morgan, Marty Deeks, Demetri Alexopoulos, Allie Marjan, Jax Teller, Hailey Upton, Charlie Nicoletti, Ted Lasso, EZ Reyes, Juliet Higgins, Sister Beatrice (highest votes), Samantha Maroun, Nancy Drew, and Lucy Tara. Hopefully, some of your favorites are still in there. If not, nominations for the mini-contest start tomorrow and we always have the TV Talk Topic.

If you’re just joining us for this year’s Cup, please read the rules. Otherwise, happy voting!

1. Don't take it too seriously! Have fun. Discuss. Play nice.

2. Cheaters suck! - Only one vote per person per poll please. While we do our best to keep the contest running smoothly, it's up to each person to follow the rules. The Cup is just a fun little piece of internet fluff. It won't get anyone's show renewed or un-cancelled. It has zero effect on ratings, so there is zero reason to cheat. All cheaters do is disrespect themselves, their fandom, their show, the actors, and this community. Just don't.

3. Focus on characters, not people. Talking about what you like and dislike about a character is encouraged. Going after actors or fans is not.

4. The aliens have not landed. There's no conspiracy here. I will do my best to keep the contest running smoothly, but I make mistakes. I apologize in advance for any technical difficulties, spelling errors, and general absentmindedness. Let me know and I'll fix it.

5. Comments are life. As you anxiously await the end of hiatus, why not distract yourself with a little TV Talk? Each day is a new topic so even if your favorites are out, you can still discuss. While the Cup is just a silly little distraction, the conversation here dives deep, so jump on in.

6. Nuts and Bolts - All polls are active for around 24 hours. Winners advance to the next round. In the case of a tie, both characters go to the next round. New polls should go up every day and polls may overlap each other. Any questions? Ask away in the comments.

TV Talk Topic: TV Attention Span

It seems like the world’s attention span is shrinking as social media expands. Has this affected your TV watching? What shows or types of shows do you give your full focus to? What shows or types of shows do you use more as background noise while working or multitasking? (Thanks to chocolatechipwafflcake for the topic suggestion.)

In fact, none of the performers fluctuated from their starting positions. Ultimately, Nick Offerman took the top stop, followed closely by Pedro Pascal, and then Anna Torv. They out-distanced their nearest competitors by over 2 to 1. Nick Offerman’s performance as Bill in The Last of Us has received floods of accolades, and our staff’s valentine to his work is but one drop in the bucket of praise. When a performance is so wildly celebrated, describing the specifics of how well the actor executed their craft starts to feel reductive. Offerman brings such ease and contentment throughout the opening montage of Bill efficiently building his survivalist paradise, effectively selling his character’s celebration of the end of the world. If Bill wants more or ever wanted more, it’s concealed from the audience, at least until something more arrives. Sure, Frank (Murray Bartlett) is the one who falls into the pit, but Bill falling in love is the axis of the episode. And Offerman dishes it out. Some particularly lovely parts of his performance include that wistful stare towards the bathroom door after Frank asks for five more minutes, the way the unflappable Bill all but falls through the kitchen door when bringing Frank his meal, and the ever-so-subtle pride in how Bill rotates Frank’s dish to show off his immaculate plating skills. When Frank goes to the piano later, Offerman does some of his most poignant work in showing Bill’s conflicted attitude towards the piano and how much of his connection to it he should reveal to Frank. His hands clearly itch for the keys, moving in every direction, as Bill tries to not reach for the piano (and Frank and all that Frank represents). It’s much more than just playing a song, and Offerman lets us see Bill’s walls crumbling with each note. He is shaking, trembling, as he finishes playing. “I was never afraid before you showed up,” Bill tells Frank later in the episode (after a scene where Offerman drops the most wonderful, giddy sunbeam of a laugh that has ever existed). One could spend a long, long time talking about all the other things Offerman does well in this episode (the comic timing of “Which gun?”, the breathtaking, beautiful sorrow in the moment when Bill can’t bring himself to look at Frank for a second near the end, the proud smile when he reveals to Frank that he’ll be leaving with him). There are excellent performances, and then there are performances that surprise you by how bright and rich they are. Even though you expected something wonderful, from all the hype, it’s just that much better than the anticipation, like a post-apocalyptic strawberry. Nick Offerman is SpoilerTV's January Staff Choice Performer of the Month.

READER RESULTS

The race on the Reader’s side was much closer. Chicago PD’s Tracy Spriakados and <willow i="">Ruby Cruz went back and forth the entire voting period. In the end, Cruz held off a final surge of votes to win, defeating Spirakados by a little over 10 votes. The third spot also ended up being a battle, after holding onto the third spot for most of the voting period, Willow’s Erin Kellyman held off a late rally from Fire Country’s Billy Burke and holding on to third by only 3 votes. the start of Willow, Ruby Cruz was playing a deeply wounded version of Princess Kit Tanthalos, one who had encased herself in bravado and arrogance, holding her family and closest friend at a distance. Cruz weaves the assurance and trepidation that comes with a heroic legacy into every step of Kit’s path. She pairs the abrasiveness of Kit’s defenses with a yearning that only burns brighter the closer Kit comes to her deepest fears and insecurities. It’s easy to fathom why her performance in episode 7 struck such a chord with our readers. Kit steps into her hero’s mantle at last (she gets the outfit to match an episode later), asking her love Jade (Erin Kellyman) to train her (for real this time). The affectionate friction between Kellyman and Cruz’s characters formed the romantic backbone for most of the season. Here, when Kit makes her request, Cruz presents it as a deferential challenge, marking the new openness that Kit is able to display towards Jade. When a sunset match turns seductive, Cruz’s performance is a distinct contrast to the casual, guarded behavior between princess and prospective knight in the series premiere. An exquisitely choreographed dance, swords and all, that Cruz leads with confidence. She makes Kit’s declaration for love, delivered in a tone of fierce wonder, the victory that it is for her character. And the tender repetition of the declaration, with Cruz’s hand resting on Kellyman’s heart, is just as swoon-worthy as the kiss that follows. Episode 7 concludes with a scene that pays off Kit’s entire character journey so far and triumphantly moves forward her other major relationship in season 1. Kit’s rivalry with Elora Danan (Ellie Bamber) frequently threatened the success of the entire quest and rescue mission. Bitter dislike thawed into turbulent rivalry (in Kit’s mind at least) which turned over into reluctant admiration. Along the way, Kit and Elora formed a bond far beyond their mutual goal of rescuing Kit’s brother. Cruz delivers the emotional tour de force in the final scene when Kit crouches down beside Elora and gives her fear to the girl she spent her life resenting. The absolute conviction in Cruz’s voice electrifies the scene and makes the character's next actions all the more satisfying. Few character arcs have been as thrilling to watch unfold this TV season as Kit Tanthalos’s, and a lion’s share of the credit must go to Ruby Cruz. </willow>Ruby Cruz is Spoiler TV's January Readers' Choice Performer of the Month.

Please join us in the comments and on social media in celebrating winners Nick Offerman and Ruby Cruz as well as the incredible runner-ups. A monthly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in the past month.
DarthLocke: Just wow! I'm not the biggest Yellowstone fan, but I absolutely loved 1883 and consider it one of the best westerns I have ever seen! I wasn't really expecting 1923 to be equally as good. While the Spencer storyline definitely gives me Out of Africa & Lions in the Darkness vibes, I also love how these two characters seem to manifest the previous Duttons, most notably James and Elsa and that echo that has me the most intrigued and dedicated to these characters. I chose this scene because it went from pleasantly chatty and romantic to extremely terrifying.

CHICAGO MED, "We All Know What They Say About Assumptions", January 18th, 2023, Actors: Jessy Schram and more, The Scene: Hannah fights for her patients
Lexi: The scene where she's fighting for her patients against Jack Dayton to enroll in a program that would've helped them if they had a visit from a postpartum care nurse.

CHICAGO PD, "I Can Let You Go", January 18th, 2023, Actors: Tracy Spiridakos, Jefferson White, LaRoyce Hawkins and more, The Scenes: The ending scene between Hailey and Sean & Kevin and his dad have a conversation about their past

Morgan: Their interactions in the final scene were intense, honest and raw to such a point you can feel Hailey's defeat and Sean's disappointment. It was such a perfect ending for the hero versus villain arc that was built up in this storyline because it was almost like Hailey lost in a way. Sean's last words to her about her speech being good, but said to the wrong person and Hailey's immediate look of realization and then disappointment because he got her again. There's been a constant power struggle between these two since day one that has been so good to watch play out and that has been done well through the end.
Lexi: The final scene where Kevin and his dad finally have a conversation about his dad's absence due to being in prison. It was an emotional scene and you could feel Kevin's pain through the screen.
Rianne: The ending scene where Kevin and his dad had the conversation about their past. It was powerful, emotional and really got through.
Milo: This kind of weird show is the kind of show where men squeal like a pig whilst getting beaten by a pimp, and you'd be fine with it happening because it fits the mood of Refn almost to the point of parody - but the moment of euphoria with Cimona escaping; even if it's a short-lived escape, is triumphant - thanks to the memorable score from Peter Peter - I Promise, creating an instant mood piece. This is my favourite "new to me" 2023 show of the year so far - and I loved its complete commitment to the craft.

CRIMINAL MINDS, "What Doesn't Kill Us", January 29th, 2023, Actors: Kirsten Vangsness, Paget Brewster, The Scene: Penelope tells Emily that she kissed Tyler
Rianne: The scene where Penelope tells Emily that she kissed Tyler Green, their material witness.
Justyna: In one of the craziest shows I've ever seen, it's still the character centric moments that get me the most. The relationship between Cliff and Jane is such a complex one, but whenever their friendship is at the center of attention, both characters often shine the brightest. When Jane is struggling and believes herself to be unworthy of anyone's love and affection, Cliff proves that she's not alone and she's most certainly already loved, and there's nothing she can do about it. He shows up in her room to apologize for his earlier behavior but upon realizing how much she needs his support, he takes off the oven mitt and reaches out to hold her hand. It's a sweet and comforting gesture, but it's so much more meaningful if you know just how much it meant for Cliff to hold his granddaughter first (with his new sense of touch). He doesn't count his earlier failures, but he knowingly changes his plan in order to help Jane and show her just how important she is to him. One of my favorite moments between these two. Also a shout-out to Diane Guerrero for another wonderful performance. Kudos!

EXTRAORDINARY, "Have Nots", January 25th, 2023, Actors: Máiréad Tyers, Sofia Oxenham, The Scene: Jen comes home with the ending reveal
Milo: Jen comes home with the ending reveal that her dad is dead; he is talking to her through Carrie. This pilot really caught me by surprise and the show grabbed my attention completely - the lighter, funnier side of the comedy was supplemented by the emotional depth and weight that it needed to emerge from good to great television.

GINNY & GEORGIA, "A Very Merry Ginny & Georgia Christmas Special", January 5th, 2023, Actors: Brianne Howey, Antonia Gentry, The Scene: The ending scene between Ginny and Georgia
Allie: Although it was a Christmas episode, the two main characters still dealt with very emotional storylines. The whole episode led up to this moment, as it showed the strained relationship between the mother / daughter duo. When Georgia found Ginny's therapy journal, she learned that her daughter was going to therapy without her knowledge and that she was also engaging in self-harm. This led to a powerful moment between Ginny & Georgia. When Georgia confronts her daughter on Christmas Day, the episode ends with both in tears and holding onto each other. It's a turning point in their relationship and provides a better view on who Georgia is as a mother.

HAPPY VALLEY, "Episode One" & "Episode Four", January 1st & 22nd, 2023, Actors: Sarah Lancashire, James Norton, The Scenes: The opening scene & Royce escapes from the court
Milo: Happy Valley is back and what an introduction after all this time - a police car speeding through the rain, "it's a microwave this time." "oh, he's diversifying" the strong wit is really good - and Lancashire is one of the best actors in the TV business. In fairness; it's the only episode of the season that I've seen so far; but plan on rectifying that by the time the article goes live - but as a way to welcome us back into the world; they couldn't have picked a better one.
DarkUFO: Tommy Lee Royce escapes from the court.

HOME ECONOMICS, "Limited Edition Boom Boom Dojo JollyBot, $45.99", January 11th, 2023, Actors: Sasheer Zamata and more, The Scene: Denise scams people out of the line
Marko: Sasheer Zamata was a menance this episode. A brilliant performance through the episode peaked with her scamming all the people out of the line. Home economics is highly underrated and performances like this deserve more recognition.

HOW I MET YOUR FATHER, "Cool and Chill", January 24th, 2023, Actors: Hilary Duff, Daniel Augustin, The Scene: Sophie talks to Ian
Marko: HIMYF returned in great fashion and Hilary delivered big in the premiere. Sophie is a bit of a mess but the way she seeks love is beautiful and heartwarming. The way she opened up to Ian was honest and powerful. So happy this season has 20 episodes, should be one hell of a ride.
DarthLocke: Rowan is swept away during a street funeral procession. It was hard to choose a scene, as there were quite a few good, scary and horrific scenes that I almost picked, but I chose this particular one, because I feel like it showcases the essence of Anne Rice's works and the reality she found her characters in, as New Orleans itself is often its own character as it is in this scene. I also think it highlights such wonderful casting, as you can really feel the magnetism between the leads, and Lasher's overall seduction.
Marko: Rowan and Sip connect. Rowan's journey over the first 3 episodes of the season were filled with pain and fear, her being able to trust Sip was delicately handled and both actors brought the perfect dose of vulnerability and strength to the scene as Rowan allowed Sip to look into her deepest fears and hopes.
Folielex: So Help Me Todd has been building on putting the mother/daughter dynamic on the spot all season and in episode 11, in what proves to be yet another excellent family scene of this show, it finally dives right in. A frustrated and suppressed Alison snarkily reads the letter Margaret urged her to write as her defence after her arrest. She keeps most of her pent-up emotions in check but a lot is coming through the cracks, as Margaret's doubling down on her stance instead of listening to what her daughter is trying to say only makes things worse. It all ends with the two women in a fight.

STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH, "Entombed", January 25th, 2023, Voiced by: Wanda Sykes, Dee Bradley Baker, Michelle Ang and more, The Scene: Phee puts the crystal back
DarthLocke: I'm really enjoying the whole season so far, as it feels deeper and richer than the freshman season. But this whole episode is an early favorite with an Indiana Jones-like setup, pre-Jedi mythology, perhaps a nod to Dark Horizon and some anime, while Wanda Sykes delightfully brings Phee to life with an ever enduring, if not dangerous optimism. Phee really shines in this episode, but what I think makes the character really great is that she has the courage of her convictions. So if she has to let go of treasure to save hers and others' lives, she will spring into action and just do it!

THAT '90s SHOW, "That '90s Pilot", January 19th, 2023, Actors: Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis
Marko: I just lmao. The introduction of Kelso as Jay's father was hilarious and his interaction with Reed was priceless. The boomers made The 90s watchable and funny. Kudos to them.
Raquel: Shaun learns that Lea and their baby are fine and celebrates with his family. This scene is one of the most emotional on the show because it shows how far we've come with these characters, how much they've matured. Nobody wanted to have Shaun in the hospital, Glassman put his position at the hospital on the table so they would give him a chance and now they are all there, supporting him, because Shaun became their friend, part of their family. I'm sobbing just thinking about it!

THE L WORD: GENERATION Q, "Looking Ahead", January 22nd, 2023, Actors: Jennifer Beals, Laurel Holloman, The Scene: The wedding
Alejandra: Need I say more than that this could be the most awaited comeback we have been longing for so long. Ever since last season's cliffhanger with Bette and Tina and the whole "will they/won't they" for most of that season, and they're finally getting back together. The culmination of their story, or what feels like that on our screens, in a way, was one of the only moments of joy from season 3 for me.
Justyna: This show continues to surprise and amaze me with each episode. It's also such an emotional and heartbreaking experience. I could name a number of scenes from every single hour so far that absolutely deserve a highlight in the article and I'm glad to see a few of them already named below. From my side, I wanted to add the opening of the second episode, more specifically the final moment of it when Dr. Ratna attempts to assess the severity of the situation and offer the solution to prevent the further spread of the cordyceps fungus. Step by step, she carefully asks the crucial questions about the source of the infected, what steps were already taken by the authorities, are all infected accounted for and more. With every answer given by the soldier, she tries to remain calm and collected, even though her hands are visibly shaking and her heart must be breaking with the realization of the truth. Lieutenant-General Agus Hidayat still remains hopeful, waiting for a recommendation from the professor, a way to move forward. And then comes the brutal honesty. Ratna Pertiwi, a mycology professor and an expert in her field, says that there is no cure or medicine, no way to stop the infection, no vaccine to prevent the spread. The only course of action she can recommend is to start bombing... their own city. Not even to "fix" the situation, but as the only way to even slow down the fungus from reaching the rest of the world. Her only request to the soldiers is for them to allow her to come back home, so that she can spend the last moments of her life with her loved ones. It's a tragedy that feels almost impossible to process for the rest of us. The human instinct is generally to run or fight, to try to escape the infection and save the people you love, but Dr. Ratna shows an incredible strength in her quiet and brutal statement. I can't imagine having to make a decision even remotely close to this one, so watching this scene left me shocked and deeply moved. Wonderful performance by Christine Hakim and the rest of the cast. Kudos!
Bradley: Bill and Frank’s final day montage. I watched the final 25 minutes of “Long, Long Time” through teary eyes and it all stems from - well, two things. First, the mesmerising portrayal of the two characters, Bill and Frank (ostensibly minor characters in the video game, and minor here as single-episode characters but major in impact) by Offerman and Bartlett, who, throughout the episode, ensure you fall in love with these two opposite personalities just as they fell in love with each other. Second, the beautiful, heart-breaking sequence in which Frank, suffering from an unspecified neurological disease, decides it will be his last day alive. The raw, ugly emotion of Offerman, largely playing a more emotive, gay version of Ron Swanson, devastatingly leads this: his despair and desperation at the thought of losing his lover played against Bartlett’s bittersweet contentment. Invoking Max Richter’s “On The Nature Of Daylight” feels almost cruel; another gut-punch after 12 rounds in the ring. But there can be no better accompaniment to their last hours together, the montage cutting wonderfully between their trip to the boutique, their at-home wedding, and their final dinner in which Bill admits to suicide-by-pill. That they can even share a laugh amid the pain at the end makes the scene even more achingly sad, but it’s a perfect end: for everyone else, the world ended in 2003; for Bill, it began three years later and ends in his dining room.
DarkUFO: The opening talk show scene.
Chloe: Sarah's death. If possible, this scene hit harder than the original game sequence purely because we spent more time getting to know Sarah before the tragedy struck. It helped to make her death scene that more powerful and Pascal and Parker conveyed all of the pain and grief that has resonated with the audience for years and made it that much more potent and raw in the process. It's this kind of faithfulness to the games which has helped the show to become so quickly beloved but the little acting choices by Pascal, Parker and Luna show how much care has been put into each character to make them their own. Sarah's death is a pivotal changing moment for Joel, paving the way for his bond with Ellie and Pascal perfectly portrays the shock of losing a child so suddenly and brutally.
DarthLocke: Richard is shot, Allie then saves Charlie. While the season two finale was good, it was good for a lot of wrong reasons, as characters mostly didn't behave like themselves, some things happened too conveniently, and even I think Richard dying in front of Charlie was a bit predictable. But the scene itself and the way Richard shined through as a character, while Allie saves his son and grabbing the cash was done so well and just gives credence to the complexity of who Allie really is and to his anti-capitalist philosophy.
bwhitley85: Look, I know I keep nominating Chenford scenes and I am not sorry. Lucy and Tim tried a formal first date, but it didn't work and by episode's end we found them in a much more comfortable place at the food truck with all the 'first date jitters' washed away. They were themselves and it was perfect. I also loved that Lucy joked about their future grandkids and it almost made Tim giddy, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention their first 'real' kiss which was initiated by Tim and that was huge as any Chenford fan knows! These two are amazing together and I hope the show sees the magic in the payoff they've given us.
Cristina13: The love between Lucy and Tim has been slow burning since season 1, episode 1. Finally, after 5 seasons and so many will they/won’t they moments, Tim and Lucy let their guards down, admit their feelings to one another and have their first date. The moment was everything fans hoped it would be. Tender, raw, real and filled with so much longing and excitement. After a failed attempt at the most romantic restaurant in LA earlier in the episode, the two ended up at a food truck in this scene. They realized they don’t need to be anywhere special, they just need to be together. Everything about the scene was gold, right down to the small round table that Lucy and Tim sat at, which allowed them to be close and felt so intimate. A normally stoic Tim finally let his guard down, and even forfeited arresting a would be car thief to maintain this moment with Lucy. They had waited so long, nothing was going to ruin this for them. Lucy joked about grandkids, which Tim joined in on, highlighting the bond that these two have and how much love already exists between them. Even though this is their first date, they are already so far along in their relationship that they are comfortable implying that they are it for each other. At the end of the scene, the two finally shared their first real kiss. It was tender, romantic and you could feel the sparks flying between them during this moment that both characters had been waiting on for so long. You could "literally" hear the viewers screaming “finally!” at their TV sets. This moment was everything viewers hoped it would be and more. Chenford is finally canon and I’m here for it.

THE WINCHESTERS, "Hang on to Your Life", January 24th, 2023, Actors: Meg Donnelly, Tom Welling, The Scene: Mary confronts Samuel
Marko: Tom was very well cast in the role of Samuel. Him opening up about the damage he caused to his own daughter came from the heart and Tom brought all the right emotions.
bwhitley85: Abby and Tom sleep together. I am not nominating this from a shipper's POV, I am nominating it because the show took the bold move of going there. We still don't know what Tom's involvement in Liam's death is, but this adds so much more gray to an already complex character situation and it is so intriguing! As the show has gone on, it is obvious that Tom has many more layers than just being the cut and dry villain, and now the show is playing into that and I appreciate the willingness to keep the audience on their toes in a very interesting way.
Folielex: Nascha tells Calian her story. After the years long search for his lost sister finally comes to an end, Nascha quietly recounts her life story to her estranged brother. For Calian it is a sad story of displacement and assimilation, but for Nascha it is merely her life... one she seems pretty content with, even if it has come at the cost of losing her brother. It is a bittersweet ending to Calian's quest, knowing his sister is well and alive but still as lost to him as before.
Justyna: This was such a fun season. It may not be the best show in the world (which is perfectly okay), but it's truly enjoyable and entertaining and I'd love to see more of it. I think that episode 7 was probably my favorite one so far and I was glad to see the growth in all the characters as they approach the end of their rescue mission. There's several moments that would stand out during this hour, but the one that stayed with me the longest is the training montage. Between Elora and Willow, Kit and Jade, and Elora and Graydon duos, everyone has truly upped their game, preparing for the upcoming fight. You can see the determination and strength in all the characters, especially clear with the shift in Elora, as we watch their growing skills with the time passing by. The montage is also visually stunning. The gorgeous views, the music, the editing - everything fits perfectly together. The Shattered Sea was such a beautiful location and the fantastic setting for the magical training sequences. Kudos to cast & crew for all their great work on the series!

The rules for this year are exactly the same as in 2022 with the only change being the time each poll will start and end for the majority of the year. More on that is noted below after the rules. This month many shows roared back from hiatus with some very strong episodes that showcased many brilliant performances. After you read through the rules please take a moment to place your nominations for the performers you think delivered the best performance in January. Who will get enough nominations to make it to the voting round?

If you are new to this feature, please read the 2023 rules shown below.

2022 Staff Choice Performer of the Year: Zendaya (Rue Bennett) - Euphoria
If any spots are not filled in your submission will not count.

-Only 1 episode can be nominated per performer. That episode will help determine which performers make it to the poll. Simply just put the episode number in the form. The contest will be working off the understanding that the episode number is for the current season.

-A performer can only win 1 time per year.

-A show can only be represented by 2 winners per year. For example, if a performer from a show wins in January then another performer from that same show wins in February then no other performer on the show will be eligible again for the rest of the year.

-In the event the same performer wins both the staff and reader voting that particular month will only have 1 winner.

-During voting the results will remain hidden. That gives people more opportunities to watch and nominate performers from those shows.

-Performers on streaming shows can’t be nominated for a full season. I have some major life events happening this year, so as a result, I have made the decision to temporarily step back from this feature for a number of months. But don't worry, a great team has stepped up to take over while I'm away and they will keep POTM running as if nothing has changed. But to accommodate for different schedules and time zones, 3 pm ET will be the key start and end time for each round of the feature for now. Currently, I have every intention to return to managing this feature much later this year and at that time if there have to be any changes to the time then I will certainly let everyone know.

Please note that a performer can now only win once per year and a show can only be represented by two winners per year. No exceptions will be made for any performer or show, so please use thoughtful consideration when making your nominations. You will have to fill out the submission form for each nominee you submit. You can submit the document up to 5 times, but each entry must be for a different performer or all of your other nominations will be disqualified. The Top 5 most nominated actresses and Top 5 actors will be placed in the poll next week to determine the Readers' Choice Performer of the Month.

After you place your nominations take a moment to use the comments section to discuss your nominees with others. Episode number for the nominees is critically important, so discuss with others why you think a performer deserves to be recognized for a certain performance.

Nominations will run until February 3rd at 3 pm ET. The poll will post on February 4th at 3 pm ET.

Enter the episode number as 101 or 1.01. Either will work on the form and both will be accepted.

Please take note that any performer that won earlier in the year is no longer eligible for the rest of 2022, so please take note of the above list of winners before placing your nominations.

Kristina Tonteri-Young surged to the top from the start and was never even close to ever being overtaken. She even secured the honor of having the most votes in a regular monthly round of voting. She claimed that title from Danielle Savre who claimed it back in 2021. Given that both actresses will go head-to-head for the Performer of the Year competition this could prove to be a real battle of titans. In terms of this round, while the top spot was secured early on there was a close race for the second spot as Willow co-stars Ruby Cruz and Erin Kellyman battled it out until Cruz pulled ahead and secured her second-place finish.

Kristina Tonteri-Young pulled off a rare double win taking the top title for both sides of the voting round. She is relatively new to the industry and this is her first major role which makes the impact she has already made all that more impressive. She not only has the physical talent to pull off the action the character requires but she also has an incredible instinct regarding how to convey the many emotions Beatrice has to contend with. She has a natural ability to know exactly how she needs to layer her performance for maximum impact. In fight scenes, for example, she easily conveys the physical capability of the character while oozing calm ferocity when delivering a line like, "I offer mercy to whoever walks away now. Stay, and you'll never walk again." The delivery of that line during the season finale was chilling and conveyed so much regarding just how far Beatrice was willing to go to get to Ava (Alba Baptista). The moment was amplified by how she had previously in the episode portrayed Beatrice's reaction to the first kiss between her and Ava. As Ava kissed Beatrice without warning there were a few beats where Tonteri-Young kept her eyes open as she held Beatrice stiff. Just those little choices allowed her to visually convey the barrage of thoughts and conflict firing through Beatrice's brain. Then because of those choices, she was able to deliver the exact split second where Beatrice accepted how deep her feelings ran for Ava as she closed her eyes before leaning into the kiss and then tenderly touching Ava's face. Also then making sure Beatrice never lost contact with Ava again added an extra layer to the performance. While these elements were stunningly well done, it was perhaps the sequence where Beatrice held the mortally wounded Ava in her arms that allowed Tonteri-Young the most emotional freedom to show how deep her emotional range runs. As Beatrice held Ava, Tonteri-Young juggled between portraying stoic and emotional distress. The way she has chosen to often portray Beatrice as a stoic rock for others made the tears she shed hold that much more impact. It was made all the more powerful by the tremble she infused into her voice as she delivered Beatrice's love confession to Ava only after the love of her life was gone. All of these elements combined allowed her to break the hearts of the audience as Beatrice sat back and allowed the immensity of the loss she had just experienced to fully hit her. All around this was a tour-de-force episode for her full of big moments that she captured with the prowess of a far more seasoned performer. She has a long prosperous career ahead of her, but she still has a lot to give Beatrice, however, for that to happen this magnificent series needs to find a new home since Netflix sinfully chose to cancel it. Should it find a much-deserved new home, then it's certain Tonteri-Young will treat us to many more amazing performances. Kristina Tonteri-Young is SpoilerTV’s December Readers’ Choice and Staff Choice Performer of the Month.

Please join us in the comments and on social media in celebrating dual winner Kristina Tonteri-Young as well as the incredible runner-ups.
Justyna: It's very disappointing to learn of the series cancellation just when we've reached the next chapter in the story. I've certainly enjoyed watching the show and was excited to continue the mystery. In the final moment of the series Maura wakes up in a starship called Prometheus, surrounded by the other Kerberos passengers, placed under suspended animation. She also discovers that it's the year 2099, not 1899 and her brother leaves her a message to welcome her to reality. The end. Just when the possibilities were endless and with so many questions left unanswered. It was a great and engaging cliffhanger to finish a season on, a perfect place to craft some theories, so if there's any chance at all for the series to still be saved, I'd be happy to continue to support it and watch wherever that might be. Kudos to the cast & crew for all their work!
Laura B: Father Renaud doesn't just hit Sister Mary, but Teonna gets another round from him too. If it wasn't hard enough to witness a most-beloved Elizabeth Bennett (Ehle) in the role of a school-teaching nun who beats up the hands of the free-spirited Teonna Rainwater (Aminah), the show found a way to be even more horrific when at first Father Renaud seeks justice by doing the same act to Mother Mary before Teonna's eyes, but then his taste for justice quickly turns into some rather disturbing abuse when he beats Teonna again! I've seen Sebastian Roché play some bad customers before, but this role may yet take the cake! Overall, 1923 had a pretty amazing opening episode!

GHOSTS, "The Christmas Spirit", December 25th, 2022, Actors: Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, The Scene: Sam gets possessed by Thor
Chris C: Rose McIver gets to relive her best iZombie life as a disgruntled Thor pretends to be Sam while talking to Jay in the kitchen. Everything from McIver's elevated pitch to her glances and obsession with food is brilliantly executed and perfectly ridiculous, in a way that only a show like Ghosts can be.
María S: Lyra wakes up while Marisa is sleeping, so she tries to take this chance to escape from the place her mother is keeping her. But the opportunity fades away when Mrs. Coulter's daemon leads her to the girl, so she sedates her again, while Lyra tells Marisa that she will never be safe with her. I think it's really sad to see that, after everything that has happened, the only way Mrs. Coulter can keep her daughter next to her is by keeping her unconscious.

SLOW HORSES, "Old Scores", December 30th, 2022, Actors: Gary Oldman and more
The Scene: The Slough House pays tribute to Min (and Dickie)
Folie-lex: Against Taverner's instructions, Lamb makes sure that Min (and Dickie) get a proper "Joe's memorial" and the whole crew is there to pay their respects. He might be an insufferable ass but one thing is for sure, Jackson Lamb proves yet again that he absolutely has the proper respect for his agents.
Cristina A: Todd confronts his married sister about setting up a profile on a dating app. During an investigation for a client who is suing because her idea for a dating app is being stolen by a major corporation, Todd and his mother discover that his married sister, Allison, has set up a dating profile on the app. Todd confronts his sister and she admits that she set up the profile. She shares that her whole life has been decided for her by her mother, she’s never been able to do the things that she dreamed of and hoped for. Even becoming a doctor was her mother's dream, not hers. As was marrying her husband. She wanted to see what her life would be like if she went down another path. Todd and Allison have a difficult relationship and her being able to confide in him her deepest feelings, was a huge step in their path to repair things between them. It was the first time the viewers got to see the deeply personal side of Allison, and understand the struggles she faced living in her mother's shadow growing up.
Justyna: It's a good thing we have a sweet and heartwarming moment also highlighted in the article, because my choice is anything but that. In fact, it's one of the most shocking and cruel revelations on the show. It left me completely stunned and is still very memorable today. In the opening scene of the series finale, we finally get an answer to the question "what really happened to Sylvester Pemberton" and it's so much worse than I've imagined. Years after his death, Starman is brought back to life by his killer and the ISA... but only for a moment. He barely begins to learn of their evil plan before his brain is removed from his body, with him very much awake and aware of the fact. It's beyond dark and is a powerful reminder that "Stargirl" never stayed away from telling the painful stories in addition to the hopeful ones. The only good thing about this moment is that the audience gets to know just how much Sylvester has truly cared about his best friend, when he asks about Pat with his final breath. It also makes it so much worse that Ultra-Humanite has spent all this time slowly destroying Starman's memory and legacy. Luckily, as we learn in the epilogue, we end the series knowing that JSA has eventually found his brain and saved Sylvester. I only wish we could have seen his true reunion with Pat. Regardless, I really enjoyed this show and will miss it dearly. Thank you and kudos to the entire cast & crew for all the wonderful work on the series.
Joshua: Courtney tries to tell her stepfather that he is a hero and she defended him against the Ultra-humanite and Pat tells her that he already knows. Courtney has a very difficult relationship with her biological father throughout the series but she eventually comes to the realization that Pat (her stepdad) is the father she always wanted. That's a major part of her series character arc. This final scene as a result marks an end to Courtney's arc as it shows that Pat and Courtney have grown close throughout the show's run. From Courtney being initially annoyed with Pat and unaccepting of him as her stepdad in the show's pilot episode to eventually becoming closer to Pat when their superhero adventures begin. It's a short but very important scene that shows just how special and well planned this television show was.
Folie-lex: Since Beth gave a shout-out to the Chenford final scene in 5.09 (the nomination that I completely endorse BTW) this completely unties my hands in order to submit their final scene of 5.08. As Chenford have spent the whole episode trying to get through this tough day all while attempting to regain a hold on their current shaky dynamic, Tim watches Chris push his "let's live together" plan on a very frustrated and uncertain Lucy. He confronts her about it at the end of the episode and FINALLY, after approximately 3 years in the show's timeline (and 5 seasons for the show's audience), these two put to words their growing feelings, admit it to each other and have an honest conversation about doing something about it... and The Rookie fans REJOICE!
Beth W: Tim asks Lucy out on a date. The Rookie is finally doing it! They are pulling the trigger on Chenford and I for one am SO excited.

TREASON, "Episode 1", December 26th, 2022, Actors: Olga Kurylenko, Ciarán Hinds, Charlie Cox and more, The Scene: The opening scene
María S: I think the opening scene is a good setup for the show since it gives you a full idea of the story and its main characters and does a good job in keeping you interested in how everything will unfold from here, and how everything will intertwine.
Justyna: I've been really enjoying this new fantasy series, I like its unique feeling, the adventure and the characters. It reminds me of a Dungeons & Dragons campaign that I've seen a few years ago. And Christian Slater was a great fit to bring back the 80s to this modern take on Willow. Allagash is quite a character, we've only just met him and yet we've witnessed his many different sides all in the course of a single episode. Similarly to Hubert, he's quite a scene-stealer and immediately a memorable character to cross paths with. Allagash is brave but foolish, friendly but not always loyal, he's a good fighter and far from good songwriter. He doesn't hesitate to steal the Kymerian cuirass but chooses to come back, seeking redemption for his past mistakes. He ultimately sacrifices himself to give the others a chance to escape and fights against an army of trolls, right after leaving Kit with a message to protect Elora Danan. The final shot of him falling, defeated by the trolls was another sad reminder of all the lives already lost in this fight. Kudos to cast & crew for their work on the series!

Well, our heroes have had a rocky start so far in this continuation of the age old classic movie Willow. Enmity and discord have been a major part of the party so far. Our titular hero Willow has his secrets and is discouraged by Elora's apparent lack of magical talent. Princess Kit resents her former cook being her future Empress and is far more interested in her father's fate and his connection to Boorman rather than the fate of the world. Jade is slightly annoyed by Kit's attitude but too much of solider to say as much. And Graydon still seems to have little use. After the second episode we were left with a mild cliffhanger. Commander Ballantine, Guard Captain of Tir Asleen and mentor of Jade, has succumb to possesion and is now in league with The Crone and has captured Elora. Just before the credits began to roll on episode 2 we also saw Elora's first real success with magic which would have far exceeded Willow's hopes.

Which brings us to The Battle of the Slaughtered Lamb. Kit presses Boorman for more information about her father who tells her the story of the Kymerian Cuirass and Madmartigan's quest to claim it and defend the world. After discovering Elora is missing Jade finds Ballantine and realizes he's been corrupted. The team engages the corrupt guards, but they escape with Elora. Willow warns the team they must get Elora back by sundown or else The Crone will banish Elora's soul, succeeding in what Bavmorda attempted to do years ago.

Elora manages to escape her bonds and runs into the forest where she meets two humble woodswomen, Hubert and Anne. A first, they don't seem particularly concerned about Elora's predicament but after realizing who she is Hubert and Anne declare their undying loyalty to Elora. Ballantine finds them, kills Hubert and Anne, and tells Elora that she is to blame for their deaths and submitting to the darkness will ultimately save lives.

At a fork in the path Boorman suggests splitting up the team and he and Kit head for a cozy little inn and Boorman's home away from home, The Slaughtered Lamb. Kit presses for more information about the Cuirass and Madmartigan. Boorman reveals that part of the Cuirass is in a cave near the ruins of The Slaughtered Lamb. He finds the Luz Arcana, the Cuirass key, but lies and conceals it from Kit. Meanwhile Willow confesses to his friend and follower Silas that he hasn't been using his magic because he fears not having enough strength to fight when things get bad. As Silas basically tells him they still have to the bad parts Willow gets a vision of Elora approaching a dark fortress and realizes where they have to go.

When Elora and Ballantine reach the ruins of The Slaughtered Lamb she resists and finds she's able to burn the corrupt guards by just touching them. This delays them long enough for Willow, Jade, Silas, and Graydon to arrive. Jade pleads with Ballantine to allow her to help him but is forced to realize he's too far gone. The battle goes badly, even after Boorman and Kit burst through a rock wall and join in. While trying to show bravery and believing himself for being responsible for Elora's capture, Graydon is touched by one of the corrupt guards. Willow resists using his own magic until he sees Silas mortally wounded at which he screams in pain and rage and releases a blast from his staff that destroys the corrupt guards. Silas dies in Willow's arms stating he had a great life and did what he was supposed to do. Ballantine, back in control of himself by still possessed, asks Jade to give him his release and tells her he's proud of her.

In order to continue on their journey the team must follow the mountain path in Willow's vision. Graydon collapses and reveals he's been corrupted by dark magic. Desperate to find a place to rest Willow reveals they are at the gates of Nockmaar, former stronghold of Queen Bavmorda.

So things have picked up from the first two episodes. We saw Willow show how powerful he's become. Jade has reached a fork in her own path where she'll have to grown stronger after killing her teacher or be destroyed by it. And of course, we see Princess Kit get knocked down a few pegs. After confronting Jade for her apparent unwillingness to kill Ballantine in their first engagement, Jade is forced to tell Kit that Kit isn't the badass she thinks she is. Jade only lost all their sparring matches because she let Kit win and she had been training Kit at Sorsha's orders. Not to mention while searching for Elora at the begining of the episode Kit finds the plant Elora grew and basically pouts and keeps the information to herself.

The Whispers of Nockmaar starts with Willow warning the team they cannot enter Nockmaar as it's what The Crone wants. Elora and Boorman insist due to Graydon's conditions and basically because it's the only shelter for miles. Kit advocates killing Graydon before he turns which doesn't really surprise anyone though Elora begs Willow to save Graydon. Willow admits there could be a way using Bavmorda's old spell books but needs Elora to do it as he's not back to full strength.

Jade head to gates to defend against a possible attack from The Gales. Kit attempts to console Jade by more or less telling her to keep a stiff upper lip and that Jade did what was necessary. Jade rebuffs Kit, telling her she has no idea what it feels like to kill an innocent but later admits to Boorman that Kit is right and Jade will end up being the one who will be forced to kill Graydon. Kit returns to Willow and Elora without the key ingredients and gets annoyed when Elora suggests she search for an alternative.

While attempting to exorcise Graydon, he begins to speak in Airk's voice but Willow warns this is just an attempt by The Lich (one of The Gales, the one who does the possession) to stop break their concentration. Another voice breaks in taunting Willow and tells Elora that Willow's keeping secrets from her. After Elora demands answers from Willow he tells her he'll finish the exorcism himself.

As the fortress seems to split up the team they face their own personal demons. Kit, after recalling her mother telling her grandmother Bavmorda's spirit still is part of her finds a tapestry of her grandmother gaining her powers from The Crone. Jade finds herself standing over her mother's recently slain body and is forced to engage a fight with a specter of what appears to be General Kael from the original movie. Elora hears a familiar voice and finds herself in the dungeon, witnessing her own mother's execution. Boorman, after searching the fortress on his own finds a vault door that seems to be whispering and attempts to break in only to hear the voice tell him the Cuirass key has been stolen from him. Boorman, after attempting to break into a vault hears whispers that the Lux Arcana has been stolen from him.

After returning to the main hall Elora finds Graydon alone who tells her Willow successfully exorcised him but was himself possessed by The Lich and suggests they can find him in the high tower where Bavmorda once attempted to banish Elora's spirit. When they reach the top of the tower Graydon predictably reveals himself to be possessed by The Lich. When Willow arrives, Graydon shows Elora the truth about Bavmorda's defeat and mocks Willow who responds he'll once again defeat evil with a little help from his friends. Jade, Kit, and Boorman arrive stopping Graydon and Kit convinces Elora that she has to power save him. Elora sucks the evil out of Graydon, curing him. As the team departs Nockmaar, Willow tells Elora that they now have a fighting chance and Boorman realizes he had the Lux Arcana all along. Kit asks Willow about something she heard in Nockmaar, about Bavmorda having The Blood of the Six. Willow explains that it's part of a dark line of magic which is now part of her and Airk. Far behind them, The Gales recieve order to kill the entire team except Elora.

The episode ends with Airk awaking in a ruined city, alone.

We get a little of Bavmorda's backstory in this episode, something that was impossible to show in a two hour movie. We find that she isn't some towering supervillain but once a young and promising sorceress who was kidnapped by a sect called the Order of The Worm. The Crone gave her unnatural powers to be a sort of high priestess to the coming darkness. Graydon also reveals to have an interesting backstory after we find he has a massive scar across his chest that he's not supposed to talk about. While hallucinating, Graydon sees his father calling him a dissapointment and an older brother, dead by a broken neck. As Elora extracts the evil from him we see a young and possibly possessed Graydon killing his older brother.

Kit took a few steps forward by finally dropping her spoiled princess act. After hearing Boorman sarcastically telling her she'd make her grandmother proud and hearing the voices in Nockmaar telling her about Bavmorda, Kit tells Elora the truth about her magical ability. Whether or not she'll continue to resent Elora remains to be seen but she does seem to want to be sure to never follow in Bavmorda's footsteps.

Overall the two episodes were really little more than somewhere between ok and good enough. We got some serious backstory, some good fights, some facing of demons, nice call backs to the original film, etc. But honestly nothing that jumped out and screamed "You gotta keep watching." While there's enough mystery and intrigue to be mildly curious the show seems to be lacking a major wow factor that makes one want to binge watch a show. Considering we're at a halfway mark that seems to be a fatal flaw if the showrunners are shooting for multiple seasons. I find myself with being content enough to wait for the next episode rather than be the annoyed fan boy who wants all episodes at once. The sad truth is the show Willow is starting to remind me of a quote I remember from another older tv show. To paraphrase, Willow is a bit like a bit like popcorn at a movie, you forget about it as soon as it's done. The truth is I'm not entirely sure what I'm hoping will happen or want to see but even with the flair of the original movie, the show Willow just seems lacking. If I wasn't a fan of the original movie, I might have walked away by now.

So it begins, an adventure more than thirty years in the making. If you read my movie review or better yet watched the movie Willow then you have a pretty good idea of the backstory. If you didn't do either then the very begining of the tv series Willow gives you all the basics you need as narrated by Queen Sorsha. Here we go, back to Tir Asleen.

In the opening episode, The Gales, the begining is somewhat slow though it gets the point across pretty well. Our newest chapter begins with Queen Sorsha appearing to epitomize the phrase "heavy is the head that wears the crown." We've learned our future Empress and symbol of peace Elora Danen has been hidden away for fear of coming darkness. Meanwhile Queen Sorsha has traded the dangers of the battefield for the treachery of politics, keeping together a loose alliance of kingdoms waiting for the day of Elora's prophesized return. Sorsha's son Arik, apparently a bit of a disappointment, appears to have more of the Casanova side of his father rather than the warrior side. Her daughter, the headstrong Kit, she plans to marry off to Prince Graydon, a somewhat meek looking Princeling of a nearby kingdom. Sorsha herself is plagued with the knowledge that darkness is coming. Rouding out our cast at the begining is Dove, a young chambermaid who is Arik's love interest of the week and by all accounts is a phenomenal cook. Jade, Kit's secret (sort of) love interest, who desires above all to be a knight to serve the Queen and the realm. And Boorman, a wise cracking mercenary/thief with some allegiance to Queen Sorsha, skill with a cleaver, and an apparent fondness for velvet.

Kit dreams of a life of adventure and of course angered by her mother's choice to marry her off, is about to flee her responsibilities for an adventure beyond The Barrier when Tir Asleen is attacked by dark servants known as The Gales. In the attack Arik is kidnapped. Sorsha grants Kit her wish to explore beyond the barrier protecting the kingdoms and tells her the only way to track Airk's wherabouts is to first find the sorceror Willow. Jade pledges to follow her out of loyalty, Graydon is forced to join by his father (whispering some possible secret to him), and Boorman joins in order to pay off a debt to Sorsha and to be released from prison. O, and there's an aged knight who dies quickly in a somewhat humorous dark note. Last but not least, Dove sneaks along to find her lost love.

The party takes off to the Nelwyn village beyond the barrier... which by the way, why aren't the Nelwyn under protection of the barrier? But I digress, after some adventurous stuff and plot driving moments including finding a dark message at the abandoned barrier gates and getting some interesting interactions between Boorman and a Bone Reaver (Yay! Skull masks are still in fashion), our party reaches Willow. Willow informs them he knows what's going on, Airk has been kidnapped by The Crone. He suddenly stops his explanations and we learn about the truth about Elora Danen. It is revealed that Dove, despite not having curly red hair, is Elora. While I did think it was a little predictable, at least the writers didn't drag it out and it's still a nice little story twist for all of us fans who have been asking for months "What happened to Elora Danen?"

The second episode, The High Aldwin, starts with some more fleshed out back story. We learn that despite Kit implying her father Madmartigan abandoned his family, he may have disappeared on a quest to find a magical artifact with Boorman as his squire. Sorsha meanwhile shielded Elora from all possible harm, including Willow by not allowing him to train Elora for the fight to come which caused a serious rift between them. Willow in the meantime has become the High Aldwin of the Nelwyn, taking on the role played by Billy Barty in the original movie. And like Billy Barty's character he appears to publically be more charlatan than anything else. But hey, even in a fantasy world politicians never change.

After Willow fails to convince Elora to stay and train with him, Willow's daughter tells him the only true way to protect Elora and the Nelwyn is to accompany her on the mission to save Arik. Willow relents when it becomes clear that Elora will not stay and agrees to travel with her on the condition that he can teach her magic. Willow once again bids his family goodbye, which is now just his daughter begging the question of what happened to his wife and son? Sorsha meanwhile, on discovering Elora has disappeared from Tir Asleen dispatches her guard Captain, Commander Ballantine, to return Elora to safety. Unfortunately, she does not know that a wound Ballantine suffered in the attack by The Gales has left him possessed by evil.
On the road, Willow attempts to teach Elora with little to show for it frustrating both. Willow begins to doubt himself and reveals to his aide that his vision of the future was not of Elora saving the world from The Crone, but of Elora's death which may be the only way to save the world from darkness. Elora questions whether she really is the mystical Elora Danen or just the kitchen girl and we find that it is Graydon who tries to encourages her thus giving his character some purpose besides being able to translate. Elora makes a final frustrated attempt to use magic but before she can see the results she's knocked out by a grinning Ballantine and carried off. In the final moments before the credits roll we see Elora's magic has not only worked but has shown she is truly powerful.

So far the show Willow follows the spirit of the movie. It mixes a decent amount of light humor in a fantasy story about good versus evil. Take for instance Amar Chadha-Patel's Boorman who quickly steals the scenes he's in as he evokes the memories of Val Kilmer's Madmartigan with his rough mannerisms, skill with a blade, and short witty comments. And I really want to know about that story about the haberdashery and the velvet. While overall it's been a nice start though not without it's problems.

On the other side of things we have Ruby Cruz's Kit. I came into this show wanting to like her character. While we do get to see her show some badass-ery as a warrior princess right away and one has to cheer her rebellious side at not wanting to married off, she really comes off as little more than a petulant child. Between Kit pouting about Jade leaving her to become a knight and her clear irritation that the former "muffin girl" is going to be Empress, well she just seems more annoying than anything else right away. At least Erin Kellyman's Jade is someone you can find likeable... when you remember her character is part of the show. At least Tony Revolori's Graydon is showing up as useful at key moments though he's also been more in the background so far.

Which brings us, of course, to the two main players on the stage, Ellie Bamber as Elora Danen and Warwick Davis returning as the titular Willow. Bamber and Davis contrast with each other nicely, Bamber as the the eager young apprentice to Davis's tired wise elder. A rocky start for the whole student/apprentice relationship but also with it's own humorous moments and plenty of potential for growth for the two together. In the same fashion as the movie Elora stays a down to earth and likeable character which stands as a stark relief to Kit. Warwick Davis steps back into the role of Willow with great ease. We see the man he once was, still doubting his ability to be a catalyst of change for good in the world. But we also see the hero that he is and the fatherly love he still has for Elora. He still represents the dream standard in most fantasy stories that even the lowliest with a good heart can be a hero.

What I can say about the first two episodes of Willow is above all else it's left me wanting more which is always a good sign for the start of a new series. I look forward to seeing how Elora and Willow will continue to grow and learn together, being amused by Boorman, and hopefully finding a reason to finally like Kit. So tune in Wednesday December 7th to see the story continue.

With Tori Anderson winning in March and Yasmine Al-Bustami winning in May, NCIS: Hawai'i performers will not be eligible for the rest of 2022. Because Mia McKenna-Bruce and Rhian Blundell tied in the September round, Vampire Academy performers will also not be eligible for the rest of 2022. The cast of Chicago PD will also not be eligible for the rest of 2022 because of Tracy Spiridakos winning in February and Patrick John Flueger winning in September. The eligibility for these shows' performers will resume starting with the first round in 2023. All of the performers listed will have one additional chance to win during the 2022 Performer of the Year competition.

Nominations will run until December 3rd at 6 pm ET. The poll will post on December 4th at 6 pm ET.

Enter the episode number as 101 or 1.01. Either will work on the form and both will be accepted.

Please take note that any performer that won earlier in the year is no longer eligible for the rest of 2022, so please take note of the above list of winners before placing your nominations.
