Netflix has cancelled The Good Cop, their Tony Danza and Josh Groban starring cop dramedy, per Deadline.

“The Good Cop will not return for a second season,” Netflix said in a statement to Deadline. “We’re grateful to creator Andy Breckman and his fellow producers, writers, the incredible crew and especially stars Tony Danza and Josh Groban for bringing this classic odd couple father-son story to Netflix.”
Just as the majority of network television series were debuting or resuming for their current season, Netflix was busy churning out yet another series to keep their viewers satisfied. Starring Josh Groban and Tony Danza, The Good Cop landed on September 21 with a 10 episode first season. Here's an interview with the comedy's composer, and B-52s member, Pat Irwin.

When you first started scoring The Good Cop how did you figure out with the initial sound of the show was going to be?

Even before I started working on the show the creator, Andy Breckman, told me that he wanted the score to be driven by piano. Specifically, solo piano. He referenced the score for The Firm which was composed by Dave Grusin. Andy also mentioned “Unsquare Dance” by Dave Brubeck which pointed me in a certain direction. It didn’t take long for us to figure out that we really needed a bigger sound, the solo piano was just too intimate. At first we added a double bass and some finger snaps and some of those cues ended up in the show. We almost immediately expanded the band to a quartet with the drummer doubling on bongos. The bongos became a crucial part of the sound.

How long did it take you to score each episode?

For the first two episodes we had about a week to 10 days. By the third episode it got pretty tight and we had to turn the score around in 3 to 5 days. Occasionally we had to turn a cue around in 24 hours.

What has been your favorite episode to score in Season 1?

The last 2 episodes are my favorites. The band was really locking in and we were able to work some spontaneity in to the sound. The musicians, who are all on another level, played most of the music on the first or second take. The sound of the score is very alive.

Has there been a particular character in this show that has been difficult to score? If so, why?

I wouldn’t say there was a difficult character but I think that the relationship between Big Tony, as played by Tony Danza, and TJ, as played by Josh Groban, took a little fine tuning. We didn’t want the sound to be too sentimental or too sweet, yet we wanted to underscore their closeness. Their relationship is crucial to the show. There’s humor there but there’s also a kind of genuine complexity that we wanted to capture.

If there was to be a Season 2, would you change anything about your score?

I’d like to fine tune what we’ve got.

Did the binge-watch aspect for viewers that Netflix provides influence how you approached scoring for this series compared to a series that would air on traditional television?

Creating a score for a show that is streamed definitely had some challenges. Each of the episodes is self-contained so it’s not really one long show. We had to be careful with our themes, particularly the music that underscored the father-son relationship. We didn’t want to repeat ourselves too much but at the same time we wanted some continuity in the sound and the themes for their scenes together.

Since you started out, what do you think are the biggest changes that the film and television industry has experienced from your point of view as a composer?

I would say that the technology is changing on a daily basis. When I first started I recorded to 2” tape! Now, of course, we record using a desktop computer and ProTools. Notation software is also continuing to get more sophisticated. For The Good Cop we used all of the available technology but we keep the band live. A lot of the performances that you hear are either first or second takes. At the end of the day the sound is about real musicians playing real instruments. It’s a wonderful thing.

What are the most challenging, and the most rewarding parts of your job?

The schedule is always challenging. And making sure I get a score that works best for the show is most important of all. Andy Breckman really had a tone and a vibe in mind when we started out. It was a challenge for me to get him the sound that he was looking for. The most rewarding part of the job is getting to work with people who are on a very high level. I mentioned the musicians, but I’d also include Michael Hill, the music supervisor, and Missy Cohen, the music editor. I’ve also worked with the producer, Brad Carpenter, on several shows. We’ve got a pretty great crew together.
That's all from Pat. A big thank you to him for taking the time to answer these questions. The first season of The Good Cop is streaming now on Netflix. Thanks for reading!
Josh Groban is an actor. Josh Groban is an actor. I had to keep repeating this in my head over and over because I honestly had no idea he did any acting before watching him on this show. And you know what? He's not bad. Out of all the problems this show has, he is the smallest. There is much more outside of him that could use a Good tuneup.

The show is about Tony Caruso Jr., a Good Cop, who's former cop father, Tony Caruso Sr., comes home from prison to live with him. His father was busted for, well, a lot of crimes he committed as a cop. Now they have to navigate their rocky relationship while solving crimes. Rounding out the cast are Cora, Tony Sr.'s parole officer turned homicide detective and Tony Jr.'s love interest (sort of), Tony Jr.'s coworkers Ryan, a young tech geek, and Burl, a long-time and long-tired cop. This has all of the workings of a police procedural with a high-end noir-esque feel with comedic, sitcom-like touches. If you take it for what it is, it's a fine show. It's entirely harmless. But if you're looking for something closer to Andy Breckman's other show, the big hit Monk, you won't find it here.

Instead of getting into the nitty gritty of these episodes, I think I'd rather play a game and make watching this more fun. I'm going to list aspects to watch for in the show, and for every one that you spot, you get a certain amount of points. The one with the most points wins, or loses, depending on how you look at it.

For every time a character believes the suspect is innocent and won't listen to reason, 10 points.

On too many occasions does the plot revolve around a murder occurring and there being one cop who believes the suspect is innocent because they have or develop a personal relationship with them, ignoring all evidence to the contrary. Unbelievably, this happens twice in a row where Tony Sr. is determined to believe that his idol is innocent despite the evidence against him. The very next episode does the same thing only this time it's Tony Jr. who believes in the suspect and everyone else believes her to be guilty, and he refuses to listen to them. It's understandable for a regular network cop show to have a couple of episodes like this in a regular, 22 episode season, but it's inexcusable for a show to do this this many times in a 10 episode season.

For every time that suspect actually turns out to be the bad guy, a bonus 5 points.

Also, every single time it turns out that that same suspect is the guilty party. On multiple occasions, there's either a middle of the episode reveal or last-second reveal that they are the bad guy. Tony Jr.'s love interest, Tony Sr.'s love interest, Tony Sr.'s idol. All guilty. There is maybe one time where they change it up so that the suspect is actually innocent.

For every time the bad guy(s) randomly shows up with a gun, 15 points.

For the climax of the episode, often the bad guy just pops up out of nowhere with a gun or pulls a gun out of nowhere. This is another problem with the show; the total lack of sense or intelligence with the bad guys. They always leave evidence behind that ends up getting them caught, and when they realize they are caught, their go-to plan is to grab a gun and try to kill the cops that caught them. What are they going to do after that? They have no plan outside of all of that. There is a distinct lack of creativity when it comes to their planning. These are very one-note bad guys that have seemingly no thought in their brain outside of what the script tells them to do. It leaves for a lack of thrill and interest when it happens over, and over, and over again. There's no wondering what the bad guy is going to do when they all do the same thing. It's too predictable.

For every time they tell us who the bad guy/s is/are before the halfway point in the episode, 10 points.

Speaking of the bad guys, and this may be a personal tick, but part of what makes me enjoy a good mystery is when they stay a mystery until the very end. More than half of the time on this show they reveal the bad guys halfway through. I don't know if they were going for the thrill of the chase over mystery, but if they were, the chase wasn't thrilling because they don't develop the bad guys enough to give the chase a true cat and mouse feel. They are only there as a prop. It can also be frustrating when you know who the bad guy is and you see the cops struggling to figure it out when it seems obvious.

For every time Tony Sr. just stumbles into the crime coincidentally, 5 points.

The way the show laid the premise out on its promotion made it sound like this was going to be some kind of buddy cop father/son show with the son solving cases and the ex-convict and former cop father helping him. But for the most part, Tony Sr. just conveniently stumbles into cases either because they involve someone he knows or he's there when it happens. Even then, he doesn't get much involved in the cases. He's busy living his own life separately from the cases and then just happens to get shoe-horned in. We really don't get much into Tony Sr.'s abilities as a former cop, which is a shame because at one point we only briefly get the chance to see how brightly he shines as a cop when he wants to, or when the script calls for it, really. Because his abilities go in and out. Sometimes his cop spidey senses will tingle, and sometimes they don't. They usually don't with suspects or people acting suspiciously. It will go right over his head.

For every time Tony Jr. makes a comment about the slippery slope of crimes, 15 points.

Okay, so every show likes to have characters that have character quirks, but this is too far. Tony Jr., his thing is he is The Good Cop. He always follows the rules no matter how small of an infraction they may be. But he never deviates from that, not once. We really don't get a chance to see any other side to him except for one time when he's tricked into believing he is some masterful bowler and actually considers leaving the force to become a professional bowler. Yes, the guy that lived and breathed the law, thought about leaving it for a sport he never cared about before. And they don't even make it into an issue. As soon as he finds out he's not a good bowler, he's just back to being a regular cop. There's no drama over him possibly leaving. None.

For every episode in which JOSH GROBAN doesn't sing, 20 points.

Okay, so this is really just another personal issue, but you have world-renowned singer Josh Groban starring on your show and you don't have him sing at all? I get that he might be trying to have an acting career separate from singing, but it just feels like unused potential.

For every time the characters act like plot devices instead of real living beings, 15 points.

This goes back to Tony Jr. a bit, but now I'm expanding it to everyone else. Another thing this show was trying too hard with was making each character quirky in their own way, which is fine as long as you don't make it their shtick. Unfortunately, this show does just that. These characters don't feel like real people as much as they do one-dimensional characters that live and breathe their quirks and nothing else. They're not well-rounded. Ryan is the tech genius millennial, Burl is the stripper-loving ready to retire yesterday cop. Cora, actually, did get a chance to shine in one episode that revealed more about her past, making her a much more interesting character. That's what needs to happen for everyone, is to let them be onions. Because onions have layers, and you have to peel them back. You get the feeling that this is supposed to be an upbeat comedic show, almost like an hour long sitcom, but you can keep it that way with developed characters. And instead of having the plot drive them, let them drive the plot.

Like most shows, the introduction of the show, the characters, the setup for how the show is going to go forward, and giving you a taste of what it's going to be like can be difficult to navigate and have it come out naturally and not so clunky. This is more forgivable for a network show, but for something like Netflix whose shows usually start and continue on with a bang, it doesn't have the room for a show to be this sluggish in their first season. I do like Tony Danza and Josh Groban, but they need to get fleshed out more, as does the supporting characters. The cases also need to get more intricate and complicated, and not hastily and easily solved with a lot of plot holes in the middle. This show, while headed by two charismatic leads, has its downfall in, well, everything else.

In The Good Cop, Tony Danza plays Tony Sr., a disgraced, former NYPD officer who never followed the rules. He lives with his son, Tony Jr., an earnest, obsessively honest NYPD detective who makes a point of always following the rules. This “odd couple” become unofficial partners as Tony Sr. offers his overly-cautious son blunt, street-wise advice on everything from handling suspects to handling women.

Created by Andy Breckman, The Good Cop Premieres on Netflix September 21.

Back in the ninety’s, there was a German crime drama that was very popular where I used to live. The show was called "DERRICK" which was the name of the lead (Horst Tappert-RIP) who ran around and solved crimes with a group of other junior detectives. It was a solid drama, and even though I watched a translated version and I could see how out of sync with the translation their lips were, it was an entertaining show that I looked forward to watching every week. This show came to mind when I read about Netflix’s new crime drama The Good Cop. So, spare a few minutes and read through this very brief preview if you can call it that. I apologize before I continue because this will not be like the regular previews I usually do. A different and very negative draft has been sitting in a WIP folder on my computer for two months, and I finally decided not to post it. This was probably cowardly, and even though I enjoy discussing shows that disappoint, this was a tad too critical. Going in I thought maybe this will be a delightful Friday night type crime solving hour that required a little less thinking on my part. In other words, an enjoyable, relaxing binge however that was not the case.

The show stars Tony Caruso Sr. (Tony Danza) and his son Tony Caruso Jr. (Josh Groban). The senior Caruso is a disgraced semi-retired detective, and the other is a do-gooder and a stickler for rules but with a kind of Mr. Beanish demeanor but not as absurd. The season has ten episodes each with a different crime that the younger Caruso and his partner Cara Vasquez (Monica Barbaro) try to solve. The older Caruso also is caught up in an investigation which meanders along, and when you get to the meat of it at the end, it is somewhat underwhelming. Isiah Whitlock Jr. appears as Burl Loomis, an older detective who is still nostalgic about the old days solving crimes with the dirty senior Caruso.

For a police procedural which is how Netflix has sold the show, The Good Cop has no direction. I am not quite sure what they were trying to achieve because they do not get there in any form or way. The show uses dry humor albeit poorly, and it struggles to help the audience connect with its characters. The senior Caruso loves his son but does not think the junior has the <strike>cojones</strike> to be a good detective, in other words, the junior is a softy cop. Each crime they handle is solved by the end of every episode however they stumble through the processes, and all the solutions seem accidental. The junior Caruso spends the majority of his time in each episode reminding his father that he is on probation and under investigation by internal affairs and should not be involved in any crime solving. This is endless, and it gets really tiring to watch.

Groban and Barbaro have no chemistry despite the writers overwhelming effort to build this sexual tension between them with each episode. They solve cases but spend a lot of time squabbling over the procedures and who is the best CSI when they get to the crime scenes. Whitlock, on the other hand, is here to fill the diversity quota but adds no value at all. One of the scenes that annoyed me to no end was at a spa which was run by a Chinese woman. Senior Caruso comes in for acupuncture to help ease his anxiety. The technician informs him that she is an adjunct doctor when he asks for credentials and the dialogue is cringe-worthy. The session gets interrupted after he hears the voice of a man he had been trying to track down for many years from one of his cold cases. He proceeds to walk with the needles on his feet and all the other pressure points that they had been placed on. Use your own imagination here and tell me what you think happens because I was flabbergasted by the whole thing.

The entire show is a mess even with some sub-par acting from good actors like Danza and Whitlock. This whole affair feels like a joke to them and if that’s what the show was going for then bravo because they succeeded. I love Groban, but in this, he is flat and boring. Barbaro definitely took one for the team here, as for Danza he apparently has a lot of time on his hands, or maybe this was only a passion project for him. The entire season is filmed with an overcast look with a little bit of a dull sunset in the background. Despite its current time frame, it feels like you are watching a black and white TV show from the ninety’s. This doesn't even give you the bates motel vibe it’s just somber. Remember Derrick, the show I mentioned above? Well, you should find it and watch it because it is far superior to The Good Cop.

The Good Cops worst crime is they didn't get Josh Groban to belt out anything worthy to keep the audience pacified at the end. I wished he had sung something to maybe help rescue this terrible show.

Thanks to Darthlocke4 for the heads up.

According to Jonathan Frakes, who directed an episode in the first season of Star Trek: Discovery, the legendary Spock, everyone’s favorite Vulcan, best friend of James T Kirk and confusing time traveller (in Abrams’s Trek, at least), will make an appearance in the second episode of the upcoming season, which Frakes happens to be directing.

Frakes, speaking at El Paso Comic Con, said that it would not be the adult Spock, however, who at the time of Discovery is a young science officer on board the Enterprise living a peaceful pre-Kirk life, but instead a younger version of the character. This version will appear in flashbacks, where he’ll appear alongside his younger, adopted sister and Discovery protagonist, Michael Burnham.
COMEDY CENTRAL(R) INKS FIRST LOOK TELEVISION DEAL WITH ILANA GLAZER AND ABBI JACOBSON

FIFTH AND FINAL SEASON OF BROAD CITY PREMIERES IN EARLY 2019

Three Projects Already in Development Include Mall Town USA, Platinum Status, and Young Professionals

NEW YORK, April 12, 2018 - Comedy Central today announced a comprehensive development deal with Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson with a 'first look' at content created and/or developed for television by Glazer and Jacobson, both together and independently. The deal with the multitalented creators, stars, directors and showrunners of the hit series Broad City, which will return for its fifth and final season in early 2019, also extends across all of parent company Viacom's television networks. Three projects already in development at Comedy Central under the new deal include Mall Town USA, Platinum Status, and Young Professionals.

"Broad City's Abbi and Ilana may appear to be aimless and full of hair-brained schemes, but Abbi and Ilana IRL have proven to be stellar creator/writer/performer/director/producers. Their supreme focus on telling new stories, in new worlds, with new talent is nearly scary," said Kent Alterman, President of Comedy Central.

"Broad City has been our baby and first love for almost ten years, since we started as a web series. It's been a phenomenal experience, and we've put ourselves into it completely. Broad City's always had a spontaneous pace and feeling, and ending after season five honors that spirit. We are very excited to bring new voices and points of view to Comedy Central and continue our collaboration together in new ways," said Glazer and Jacobson.

Mall Town USA: Mall Town USA is an animated comedy that follows the afterschool misadventures of a 13-year-old girl navigating the complexities of life in the classic microcosm of American culture that is The Mall. Mall Town USA is written and created by Gabe Liedman (Broad City, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and executive produced by Jacobson and Glazer.

Platinum Status: Set in the hipster-heavy east side of Los Angeles, Platinum Status tells the story of professional back-up singer Noah (Eliot Glazer), a gay guy who's always felt left out of the "community." And after he's dumped by his boyfriend of ten years, Noah rebounds in the least likely way: by hooking up with a girl. With help from his friends Kevin and Mimi and guidance from his kinda-sorta-girlfriend Alexa, Noah tries to evolve both in the bedroom and the recording studio. Eliot Glazer will write and executive produce and Ilana Glazer will also executive produce along with Principato Young's Peter Principato and Brian Steinberg and Electric Avenue's Will Arnett and Marc Forman.

Young Professionals: At age twenty-four, David Litt became one of the youngest White House speechwriters in history. Described as the "comic muse for the president," Litt served as the lead writer for many of President Obama's most memorable comedic moments, and his recent memoir, Thanks, Obama, is a New York Times best seller. Inspired by Litt's coming-of-age in our nation's capital, Young Professionals follows five housemates growing up - personally, politically, and professionally - in the hopelessly absurd world of Washington, D.C. Young Professionals is written by and executive produced by Litt, with Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer also serving as executive producers.

Glazer and Jacobson have earned universal praise from fans and critics alike thanks to their dynamic relationship which, combined with impeccable comedic timing and chemistry, has led the series for which they are best known, Broad City, to such accolades as a 2016 Writers Guild Award nomination for "Best Comedy Series," multiple nominations for "Best Comedy Series" by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association and back-to-back Emmy(R) Award nominations for "Outstanding Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series" for their digital offshoot, Hack into Broad City. Created by, written by, executive produced by and starring Glazer and Jacobson, Broad City follows best friends, Abbi and Ilana, as they navigate life in New York, capturing their hookups, relationships, crappy jobs and, ultimately, their badass friendship.
EXCLUSIVE: Amazon is in talks to develop Sandstorm, a series about notorious Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, who seized power in a coup at the age of 29, and ruled Libya for more than four decades before his bloody demise at the hands of his own countrymen in 2011.

Carter Harris (Bloodline) will write, and Mohamed Diab (Clash) will direct. The project is a co-production between Anonymous Content and O3 Productions, the production arm of MBC Group, the leading media company in the Middle East. Harris and Diab will be executive producers with Tariq Merhab and Nicole Romano of Anonymous Content and Ali Jaafar and Fadi Ismail of O3 Productions. The project originated through a strategic partnership that Anonymous Content forged with O3 Productions to develop content relevant to the Middle East with global appeal.

The aim of Sandstorm is to tell the sprawling life story Gaddafi and Libya’s evolution under his reign, in the style that fact-based drama Narcos did to Pablo Escobar. Gaddafi rose from being the penniless son of an illiterate Bedouin goat herder to the young leader of Libya after King Idris was deposed in a bloodless coup. Among the many things he did was rearrange the relationship that oil rich Middle Eastern countries held with global petroleum corporations, often antagonizing his Saudi Arabian and Iranian neighbors.

22:35 - Foundation - Isaac Asimov TV Series in Development for Straight-to-Series Consideration at Apple

EXCLUSIVE: In a competitive situation, Apple has nabbed a TV series adaptation of Foundation, the seminal Isaac Asimov science fiction novel trilogy. The project, from Skydance Television, has been put in development for straight-to-series consideration. Deadline revealed last June that Skydance had made a deal with the Asimov estate and that David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman were cracking the code on a sprawling series based on the books that informed Star Wars and many other sci-fi films and TV series. Goyer and Friedman will be executive producers and showrunners. Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross also will executive produce.

Originally published as a short story series in Astounding Magazine in 1942, Asimov’s Foundation is the complex saga of humans scattered on planets throughout the galaxy, all living under the rule of the Galactic Empire. The protagonist is a psycho-historian who has an ability to read the future and foresees the empire’s imminent collapse. He sets out to save the knowledge of mankind from being wiped out. Even the Game of Thrones‘ creative team would marvel at the number of empires that rise and fall in Foundation. Asimov’s trilogy has been tried numerous times as a feature film at Fox, Warner Bros (with Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, who greenlit The Lord of the Rings), and then at Sony with Independence Day director Roland Emmerich. Many top sci-fi writers have done scripts and found it daunting to constrict the sprawling saga to a feature film format. Most recently, HBO tried a series with Emmerich and Interstellar co-writer and Westworld exec producer Jonathan Nolan.
Filming has begun in Liverpool on The War of the Worlds, a major adaptation by Peter Harness (Wallander, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell) of H.G. Wells’ classic sci-fi title. This major new three-part drama is produced by Mammoth Screen for BBC One.

Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark, Loving Vincent) and Rafe Spall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, The Big Short) lead the cast alongside Robert Carlyle (T2:Trainspotting, Once Upon A Time) and Rupert Graves (Swimming with Men, Sherlock) in the first British television adaptation of H.G. Wells’ classic novel. The War of the Worlds will be directed by award-winning director Craig Viveiros (And Then There Were None, Rillington Place) and produced by Betsan Morris Evans, (NW, The City in The City).

Set in Edwardian England, this new adaptation of H.G. Wells' seminal tale - the first alien invasion story in literature - follows George (played by Rafe Spall) and his partner Amy (Eleanor Tomlinson) as they attempt to defy society and start a life together. Rupert Graves is Frederick, George's elder brother, and Robert Carlyle plays Ogilvy, an astronomer and scientist. The War of the Worlds tells their story as they face the escalating terror of an alien invasion, fighting for their lives against an enemy beyond their comprehension.

Eleanor Tomlinson says: “I’m delighted to be taking on the Martians with Rafe Spall in Mammoth Screen’s adaptation of The War Of The Worlds. I’ve been a fan of Craig Viveiros’ work for a while, so creating this world with him at the helm is very exciting.”

Rafe Spall says: “I am thrilled to be a part of bringing this much loved story to the small screen. I couldn’t be in better company with Craig Viveiros, Peter Harness, all at Mammoth Screen and of course, the very talented Eleanor Tomlinson.”

Damien Timmer, Executive Producer of Mammoth Screen, says: "Here we are, making the original and best alien invasion story for the BBC One audience - it doesn't get much better than this! With a stellar cast and some very scary Martians up our sleeve we look forward to terrifying large sections of the audience soon!’

Tommy Bulfin, BBC Commissioning Editor, says: "It’s fantastic to have Rafe and Eleanor leading such a brilliant cast of British acting talent in the BBC's faithful adaptation of H.G. Wells' legendary story."

Craig Viveiros, Director, says: “H.G. Wells' seminal novel has been adapted for the screen many times but it's always had a contemporary (and American) setting, this is the first version to be set in London and the Home Counties during the Edwardian period. Peter's scripts manage to honour the source material with great skill, but we aim to provide a thoroughly modern thrill ride for the audience, delivering an alien invasion story that will shock and awe audiences across the globe.”

Peter Harness says: "The version of The War of the Worlds that I wanted to make is one that's faithful to the tone and the spirit of the book, but which also feels contemporary, surprising and full of shocks: a collision of sci-fi, period drama and horror. There is nothing cosy or predictable about Wells’ novel, and that’s what I want to capture in the show. We have an incredible cast, a brilliant director and a wonderful crew - and I can’t wait for them to explode the terrifying story of the first alien invasion on to our screens.”

Music for the show will be scored by, critically acclaimed composer Russ Davies and cinematographer is James Friend BSC (Rillington Place). The award-winning design team includes production designer Pat Campbell (Rillington Place), costume designer Howard Burden (The War Bride) and make-up designer Vickie Lang (An Adventure in Space and Time).

The War of the Worlds is a Mammoth Screen drama for BBC One. The executive producers are Damien Timmer, Preethi Mavahalli, Peter Harness, Craig Viveiros for Mammoth Screen and Tommy Bulfin for the BBC.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment will be responsible for international distribution.
Said Breckman, “Many cop shows feature dark and provocative material: psycho-sexual killers, twisted, grim, flawed detectives. Many address the most controversial issues of the day. I watch a lot of them. God bless 'em all. But the show I want to produce is playful, family-friendly, and a celebration of old-fashioned puzzle-solving.”

Tony Danza became a household name while co-starring in the classic sitcom Taxi, which ran from 1978-1983.
