“Love Life” has been canceled at HBO Max after two seasons.

The anthology romantic comedy series was originally ordered in May 2019 before HBO Max even had a name. The first season was released in May 2020 and Season 2 was released in October 2021. Anna Kendrick led the first season, while William Jackson Harper starred in the second. Both seasons will be pulled off of HBO Max.

This marks the formal cancellation for the Joss Whedon-created The Nevers whose six-episode Season 1A aired back in 2021, with the second part of the season yet to be scheduled. It will now end up in the show’s new home whatever that is. The storyline has been crafted in a way that it concludes with Season 1B, sources said.

Press Release

On HBO Max this October, Academy Award nominee Denis Villeneuve (“Arrival,” “Blade Runner 2049”) directs Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Dune” (10/22), the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s seminal bestseller of the same name. A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

“The Many Saints of Newark” (10/1), the much-anticipated feature film prequel to David Chase’s groundbreaking, award-winning HBO drama series “The Sopranos,” also makes its debut in theaters and on HBO Max in October. Young Anthony Soprano is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the increasingly race-torn city —and under the influence of the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti. Fans of “The Sopranos” can catch up on the iconic series with the Sopranos spotlight page and curated trays on HBO Max. The spotlight page and trays in-app highlight essential episodes, the evolution of Tony, and more great viewing for fans before they watch the feature film prequel.

Both “Dune” and “The Many Saints of Newark” will be available in theaters and on HBO Max the same day. Streaming only on the $14.99/month Ad-Free HBO Max plan for 31 days from their theatrical release.

A jaw-dropping collection of original programming arrives this October including the much anticipated third season of the Emmy®-winning drama series “Succession” (10/17), the fifth and final season of the Emmy®-winning HBO comedy series “Insecure” (10/24), the eleventh season of the pretty, pretty good comedy series “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” the second season of romantic comedy anthology series “Love Life” (10/28), the third season of “Selena + Chef,” the three-part mini-series event “Aquaman: King of Atlantis” (10/14), and the second season of the unscripted series “We’re Here” (10/11).

HBO Max is home to great films and series for every fan of spooky season. Horror fans can get ready to throw up their popcorn in terror with films like “It: Chapter 2,” “Amityville Horror,” “Mama” and more.

EXACT DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED:

Curb Your Enthusiasm, Season 11 Premiere (HBO)
Originally debuting on HBO in 2001 and presenting 100 episodes to date, the series stars “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his fictionalized life. The comedy series continues to prove how seemingly trivial details of one's day-to-day life – a cold cup of coffee, a stained shirt, a missing toothbrush – can precipitate a chain of misfortune to hilarious effect.

Para (aka Para - Wir sind King), Max Original Series Premiere

Paraiso, Max Original Series Premiere

Selena + Chef, Max Original Season 3 Premiere
In season three, Selena will continue her cooking adventures at home with a new roster of all-star chefs that will help her whip up delicious dishes for special gatherings and celebrations. Like in its first two seasons, each chef will highlight a different charity each episode. To date, the series has raised $360,000 for 23 nonprofit organizations.

Season two of the Max Original LOVE LIFE, a romantic comedy anthology series from Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment, focuses on “Marcus Watkins” (Emmy® nominee and executive producer (William Jackson Harper) as he comes out of a years-long relationship with the woman he thought was going to be his person. The rug pulled out from under him, he is plunged back into the search for the romantic fulfillment that he thought he had already found. The new season is currently in production in New York.

Newly Announced Series Regular:
Punkie Johnson (“Saturday Night Live,” “Space Force”) as “Ida Watkins,” Marcus’s outspoken sister who is much more in tune with her authentic self than her brother is. Ida will say anything to anyone, often to hilarious effect.
Johnson is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment and WME.

Newly Announced Recurring Guest Stars:
Leslie Bibb (“Jupiter’s Legacy,” “Iron Man,” “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby”) as “Becca Evans,” a twice-divorced mother of two with whom Marcus enters into a purely sexual relationship, but like any such relationship, it soon becomes more complicated than that.
Bibb is represented by ICM and John Carrabino Management.

John Earl Jelks (“On Becoming a God in Central Florida,” “True Detective,” “Night Comes On”) as “Kirby Watkins,” Marcus’s affable yet formidable father, who casts a large shadow over his son. As adults, the two will finally grow closer and learn to connect.
Jelks is represented by Innovative Artists and Red Letter Entertainment.

Arian Moayed (“Succession,” “Inventing Anna,” “Accidental Wolf”) as “Kian Parsa,” one of Marcus’s best friends, a tech millionaire who recently sold his company. But even though he’s rich now, and sometimes kind of a douche, Kian is still the same sweet, lovable guy Marcus has known forever.
Moayed is represented by Gersh, Kipperman Management and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.

Newly Announced Guest Stars:
Kimberly Elise (“Mosquito Coast,” “Ad Astra,” “The Manchurian Candidate”) as “Suzanné Hayward,” Mia’s (Jessica Williams) eccentric and often irresponsible mother. She has always leaned on her daughter, forcing Mia to grow up fast and learn how to keep things on the rails.
Elise is represented by Buchwald.

Ego Nwodim (“Saturday Night Live,” “Brockmire,” “Shrill”) as “Ola Adebayo,” a beautiful playwright who seems perfect on paper to Marcus. But the two get so serious so fast that both of them are forced to confront how right they really are for each other.
Nwodim is represented by CAA, Rise Management and Melissa Fox at Hansen.

Blair Underwood (“When They See Us,” “Dear White People,” “In Treatment”) as “Leon Hines,” Mia’s debonair yet often absent father, and their relationship, or lack thereof, has fundamentally shaped Mia’s romantic life as an adult.
Underwood is represented by Thruline Entertainment, ICM Partners and Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson LLP.

The rug pulled out from under him, he is plunged back into the search for the romantic fulfillment that he thought he’d already found.

Harper succeeds Anna Kendrick, who toplined the first season of the show. Luana: There were so many memorable moments in this season, and with flaws and all this show has portrayed some of the most pressing issues for young generations today. You could never say this show went unnoticed and there’s a reason so many felt touched by it. In their speeches, Clay and Jessica talked about love and loss and tried to give everyone a push to keep moving forward, no matter what, even when it all seems like it’s too much. This felt like it was a perfect goodbye for this groundbreaking show.
Justyna: Introducing Agent Daniel Sousa on the show has certainly been one of the highlights of the season. I really enjoyed his character on "Agent Carter" but I'm already loving his addition to the SHIELD team. I used to think that Daniel and Peggy got their happy ending after the interrupted run of her series. To learn that his fate was to become the first fallen Agent of SHIELD was such a sad surprise. It did make all the sense in the world, though. Agent Sousa has proved to be one of the best spies and agents on both shows, so the fact that he discovered the truth about Hydra decades before everyone else, only proves his talent and skills. I'm so glad that Mack and the rest of the team made the decision to save him. He never gets a chance to say goodbye to his loved ones, he finds himself in a different time and surrounded by strangers, but he's alive. And he takes the news as well as he possibly could. I liked how open Coulson was with his introduction to this new reality. "Life after death" is of course something he's very familiar with and this time he gets to be there for someone else going through an impossible experience. Welcome to the team, Agent Sousa! Glad to have you here.
Dahne: Lizzie is forced between choosing to humiliate herself on Facebook for a creepy ex's vanity or keeping Jackie from getting a needed job. What I love about this scene is that Lizzie starts by explaining to Jackie about how the only thing she has left is her dignity. She's pleading her case but for once Jackie is very understanding and agrees that Lizzie should not humiliate herself. It's this understanding that forces Lizzie to realize that none of the people on Facebook are worth as much to her as a sister. For only having 13 episodes, the character of Lizzie has had a great arc and has become one of my favorite new characters.

COUNCIL OF DADS, "Heart Medicine", June 4, 2020, Actors: Thalia Tran, Sarah Wayne Callies and more
The Scene: Charlotte comes out at the ashes ceremony
Luana: This scene was so heartwarming, not only because of how much love there is here but also because of how it made Oliver feel as well. He was so happy that Charlotte felt safe to come out to her family so young when it took him so much more time. It was all absolutely adorable.

Justyna: This is one of the craziest (if not the craziest) shows that I've ever seen. I caught up with the series in between seasons and it's still hard to believe even half of the things that happened to its main characters so far. But underneath all the insanity this show is filled with tragic stories and painful past of every single member of Doom Patrol. In the season premiere, Negative Spirit shows Larry a vision of his son, Gary. He's now an older man, but he still misses his father and doubts whether he was ever proud of his kids. Larry tries to reach out to him but it's far too late as he realizes that Gary is taking his own life and there's nothing he could do about it. The vision stops and later Larry checks the news to confirm his fears. Gary is gone. After attending his funeral from the distance Larry meets with his other son and eventually finds his way to Gary's house, or rather a barn next to the house. Inside there's a number of mementos of Larry kept by his son throughout all these years. He never stopped believing that his father has survived the crash, he looked for him decades later and never truly moved on. The realization that he wasn't there for his kids, not before or after his personal tragedy, hurts Larry to the core. He breaks down after finding a letter from young Gary addressed to him, asking him to come back. It's an absolutely heartbreaking and very memorable moment.

HIGHTOWN, "The White Whale", June 21, 2020, Actors: Monica Raymund, Amaury Nolasco
The Scene: Jackie confronts Frankie
Folie-lex: It's been no secret I've had my issues with Jackie all season, but she truly came into her own in this scene. Frankie is the reason Sherry was killed. And finding her on that beach is what haunts Jackie and has accelerated this downward spiral she can't get herself out of. Coming face to face with him and finding some purpose in that was cathartic for the character and gave her arc some proper direction and intent. Not to mention Monica killed it.

IN THE DARK, "The Last Dance", June 18, 2020, Actors: Perry Mattfeld, Brooke Markham, Nicki Micheaux, The Scene: Jess shoots Nia
Beth: Jess came through in the nick of time to save Murphy's life even though their friendship was at a breaking point. It showed that while the two may be strained, Jess will always be Murphy's person. It was also such a shocking moment that it would be Jess, who saved Nia earlier in the season, to pull the trigger.

LOVE LIFE, "Sara Yang", June 11, 2020, Actors: Anna Kendrick, Zoë Chao
The Scene: Darby breaks up with her best friend
Luana: This scene was heartbreaking, Darby kept trying to help Sara and she thought she had gotten through to her, but when she realized it was all going to stay the same she decided to make a choice, a very hard one. You can see how much pain she’s in but she knows there’s no other way. This show was a very pleasant surprise and I love that they didn’t just focus on romantic relationships but also those with family and friends.

SNOWPIERCER, "Without Their Maker", June 7, 2020, Actors: Jennifer Connelly, Kerry O'Malley, The Scene: Melanie wins the stand-off with Lilah
Dahne: There were a lot of great scenes in this intense, gamechanger episode. However, instead of one of the more epic scenes, it is this one that fascinated me. When Lilah demands to speak to Mr. Wilford, Melanie is seconds away from losing control. Instead, she bluffs magnificently. It's a power struggle in a way that only two very powerful women maneuver, with a tour de force performance from both actors. When Melanie offers the phone to Lilah with that penetrating stare, I had goosebumps. There is no doubt that Melanie is the ultimate power on this train and she doesn't need a weapon to prove it.
Justyna: For a while I couldn't quite decide which scene to highlight from this show. It has turned out to be such a nice surprise and had many memorable moments that aired during this month, including Joey's death, a flashback to Yolanda's past and Rick learning the truth about his parents' death. In the end, I decided to highlight the first confrontation between the new JSA led by Courtney and two of the deadliest members of the ISA - Sportsmaster and Tigress. The teenagers were clearly not ready for this fight but it was such an impressive scene overall. All the individual battles were a great display of everyone's skills and possibilities. I really appreciate the extended shots without constant cuts and the wire work didn't bother me at all. Yolanda managed to survive her fight with Tigress with a little help from Beth. Rick was injured by Sportsmaster but saved by Stargirl who actually managed to hold her own against Sportsmaster, but couldn't take down the married duo fighting together. Just when the two teams are standing opposite each other, ready for another attack, S.T.R.I.P.E. shows up and the ISA leaves. I loved that we actually got to see the shot from Crisis on Infinite Earths. Kudos to the cast, stunt crew and everyone responsible for making this one memorable. I'm very interested to see how this new JSA will continue to grow and learn from each experience.

Folie-lex: It was a toss up between this and Sutton's final breakdown, but we're far from done with the baby issue so I had to give this scene the edge. Jacqueline and Ian's marriage has spent most of S4 being on the fritz. And when they've had the whole episode expecting us for another backtrack in their relationship, we instead have Ian step up like it's nobody's business, not only swooping in with a big gesture, but making sure it's done under the right context. These two might actually make it. I sure hope they do!
Luana: This was a heartbreaking episode for Sutton, she’s in so much pain and feels so much guilt. But it also killed me to see in Richard's face how much he wishes he could take her pain away and how heartbroken he is about being unable to do that. It was a small moment but the hug they shared said absolutely everything without many words.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, "Nouveau Théâtre des Vampires", June 10, 2020, Actors: Harvey Guillén and more, The Scene: Guillermo goes on a vampire slaughter spree at the theatre
Folie-lex: The whole season, I'd even argue the whole show, had been leading up to this moment... and it was exactly as EPIC as it was meant to be! Guillermo went full-on slayer, I'm sure Buffy herself would be impressed.
YOU ME HER, "Home Is Where the Flaming Heart Is", June 7, 2020, Actors: Melanie Papalia, Priscilla Faia and more, The Scene: The ending
Luana: This show was such a great surprise for me, so funny and heartfelt, and it brought me some of my favorite characters ever. Nina is my spirit animal and her friendship with Izzy was epic, so seeing them all together as a big happy family warmed my heart. They all managed to get over their preconceived ideas of what their lives should be and they found a way to be happy, and that’s something that feels all the more essential every day.
Nothing about the end of the Fall/Spring TV season was normal and as such we've had an unusual start to the Summer TV season. Even despite all the unexpected trials and tribulations that the industry is experiencing at the moment, performers are still delivering stellar performances. Take a moment to nominate those that you think deserved performances that deserve to be recognized.
Welcome to Day 5 of our pitches. Pitches from previous days can be found in the links below. Again, thank you to everyone who helped with the pitches. To keep articles shorter and more readable, all pitches were edited for length, clarity, and grammar. Nominations were also limited to 3 per show with a couple very popular shows having more. I am truly sorry if your nomination is not in here. Know that I appreciate your time and pitches. Making the choice of what went in was difficult. After all sections are posted, I will include a link to the original spreadsheet so you can read them all in their unedited entirety.
Last Man Standing - CMT, WGN America, & Hulu.
-8 seasons, 273 episodes

1. Chad Miller - I highly recommend Last Man Standing because it’s an excellent family show that every family member can relate to. It shows how family members who have different views can get along. Plus, the show relates to real life situations. The cast members have changed since Season 1 but every actor that has joined the show works so well together. Push past the cast changes and stick with it. It’s an amazing show.

Editor's note: Coming from a mixed political family, I appreciate how this is one of the few shows on TV where people can have divergent views and still get along and support each other. If the world discussed more than shouted over each other, we'd all be in a better place.
The Last Ship - Hulu
-5 seasons, 56 episodes

1. Jeff - After returning from a radio silence mission in the Arctic, a US Navy ship finds out that a viral pandemic swept across the globe decimating 80% of the world's population. The crew must take a dangerous globe-trotting mission to discover a cure and stop the virus.

Editor's Note: While I haven't watched the whole series, I can highly recommend the first season especially. This show is very timely, being a pandemic-focused series, but its best feature is its rapid pacing. Things that would be drawn out on other shows tend to be revealed quickly in this one. It also has many characters to root for instead of the anti-heroes that are so popular these days.
Legends of Tomorrow - Netflix, CW app
-5 seasons, 82 episodes

1. That Which Dreams - Who would you enlist to protect the timeline and safeguard history? Why a B-list of superhero screw-ups of course. The most comedic of the Arrowverse shows, Legends of Tomorrow embodies the utter off-the-wall zaniness of Silver Age Comics as characters from other shows are given a second chance to prove just how good they actually are. Ray Palmer finds love, Captain Cold and Heatwave earn redemption, and Sara Lance ascends to captaincy of their ship, the Waverider.

2. Brady - Legends of Tomorrow is fun and exciting.

3. CP - I don't need 200 words to say why I love this show. I only really need two: Caity Lotz!
Leverage - Amazon Prime. Tubi, Vudu
-5 seasons, 77 episodes

1. Angy - What I’ve always loved the most about Leverage is its great character development over the course of all 5 seasons. At first glance, the show just seems to be about 5 criminals who change their ways to help those who can’t seek help from the authorities, but you also follow the characters on their journey. Most outstanding here is probably the thief Parker, who started off as having absolutely no clue about social interaction but slowly starts fitting into this family of misfits while still staying true to her quirky ways. Eliot, who used to be a mercenary for the worst people, makes amends and with time reveals that there’s more to him than just being the hitter of the group. Every episode gives you back a little bit of hope that there are still a few out there that fight to make the world the way it should be. Add to that the playful banter between the characters that makes you laugh, amazing guest stars, and smart storylines that get you questioning a thing or two, and it simply is the perfect show.

2. Natali - Leverage is the perfect series that ended long ago. Dean Devlin has announced that Leverage 2.0 is about to be filmed this summer, so I believe that this is the best time for anyone who didn't get to watch it to do so. From the very first episode, you can see how much thought Dean and his team put into this series. It’s pure genius really.

Editor's Note: I agree. Parker still has the best character development arc of any character on any show I have ever seen.
The Librarians - Hulu
-4 seasons, 40 episodes

1. That Which Dreams - A continuation of “The Librarian” movies, this series follows the zany adventures of a group of intellectuals attempting to gather and lock up magical artifacts in order to keep the world safe. There’s a mathematician, an art and history buff, a tech wiz, and their mentor, a man who knows it all. Together with their Guardian and a curator of the Library, this found family must take on Frost Giants, magic cults, and even mad wizards in order to protect the entire planet from magic gone wild.
Life - NBC
-2 seasons, 32 episodes

1. The North Remembers - Life stars Damian Lewis in one of his first American TV roles, alongside Sarah Shahi. Serving 12 years for a crime he did not commit, homicide detective Charlie Crews returns to work for the LAPD after receiving a lawsuit settlement from them. He’s partnered with Detective Dani Reese, a strict former narcotics officer battling drug addiction as well as pressure from her superiors who blackmail her for information on Crews. The bosses see Crews as a liability and seek to bust him to remove him from the force. Since being released Crews uses odd methods to his police work, taking a zen-like and open-minded approach as well as developing a bizarre obsession with fruit. All the while, he takes every day at a time, adjusting to life on the outside as he seeks to uncover the mystery of who framed him and why.
Life in Pieces - Hulu, Amazon Prime
-4 seasons, 79 episodes

1. Lou - This show is just charming and delightful. I had the pleasure of watching it for the first time this year and fell for the characters hard. Every episode is four stories that often overlap about one big family, the Shorts. The great thing is all the characters and couples are fun to watch and because of the extended cast, you can get fun and unexpected pairings. CBS really shouldn't have cancelled this gem but there are 79 episodes just waiting to be watched. You won't regret it.
Life on Mars (BBC) - Brit Box, BBC iPlayer
-2 seasons, 16 episodes

1. Noor - Just to be clear, this is the BBC version; the US version sounds dreadful! Anyway, I binged this show last month and loved it so much. It's a show that is subtle and excellently written, dealing with nuance and handling some deep moral conundrums that make you think. It can be heartbreaking or hilarious, and it does both with ease! I found myself liking the characters, even the ones that were seriously flawed. It also happens to have one of the best endings I've seen in a TV show. Oh, and the soundtrack is awesome. I would recommend checking the show out on that alone.
Line of Duty - BBC IPlayer, Acorn TV
-5 seasons, 29 episodes

1. Milo - Welcome to AC-12. Line of Duty focuses on an elite police task force that exists for one purpose: to stop corrupt police officers from getting away with criminal offences and take them down, even though its officers are often looked down upon by those outside their division. It’s a complex show with plenty of twists and turns across its five seasons so far. It features a revolving door of big-name actors and actresses who step in as the show’s primary antagonists each time out. Anchored by an excellent core cast of Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar and guests that include Stephen Graham, Keeley Hawes, Lennie James, Daniel Mays and Thandie Newton, Line of Duty will have you on the edge of your seat thanks to its fast-paced narrative from Bodyguard showrunner Jed Mercurio. If you’ve just seen Bodyguard, rest assured; Line of Duty is so much better. It’s an addictive, high-octane police drama, providing an insight into police corruption that most cop shows dare not even address. Line of Duty feels like, at times, the British equivalent of The Wire and you’ll grow to love these deeply flawed and human characters.
Locke and Key - Netflix
-1 season, 10 episodes

1. The North Remembers - After the death of their father, the three Locke children and their mother (Darby Stanchfield) move into their late father’s ancestral home in Massachusetts called Keyhouse. As the family copes with their loss, they suddenly realize Keyhouse is a place of unnatural forces. The family discovers a set of magical keys around the property. Each containing a different ability and hoping to make their broken lives easier, they seek to use the keys’ powers for their benefit. However, using such power attracts attention, and the Locke family soon must protect their secret from not only outsiders but also from a malevolent force that has ties to the Locke family and seeks to collect all the keys for its sinister purpose. A supernatural, horror fantasy series, it highlights the overcoming of grief, loss, and tragedy and how magic isn’t always the answer to it.
Longmire - Netflix
-6 seasons, 63 episodes

1. The North Remembers - Longmire is a contemporary western crime drama based on a series of books by the same name. Centering on Walt Longmire as the gruff, charismatic Sheriff of Absoroka county, Walt deals with crimes from murders to major crimes that happen in his small town and on native tribal grounds, all while he works to uncover the mystery of who killed his wife. His team of deputies include the straight laced newcomer Vic Moreretti (Katee Sackhoff), the ambitious Branch, and the goofy but bighearted Ferg. The show blends the concept of a county sheriff with actual cultural native themes, making for a very well told modern version of Cowboys and Natives. The characters are compelling as you watch them deal with their hardships and struggles, balancing their personal issues with keeping their county safe.
Love Life - HBO Max
-1 season, 10 episodes

1. Luana - This show is new so I can’t be sure how many people have checked it out, but it has been renewed for a second season already. It focuses on the journey of growth of its characters through the main relationships they have in their lives, not only romantic ones but also with friends and family. Here you can definitely see the many initial flaws in every character, but at the same time, you can see them mature in front of your eyes and I think there’s great value in that. The first season stars Anna Kendrick but there are so many great options for whoever takes over season two and so many possible types of relationships to explore that I can’t imagine not wanting to watch this for as long as it airs.

HBO Max Marks First Original Series Renewal With Season Two Pickup of Hit Comedy LOVE LIFE

Second Season of Top Performing Original Promises a Whole New Love Story in New York City

Final Four Episodes of Season One Are Now Available to Stream on HBO Max

LOS ANGELES, CA – June 11, 2020 – HBO Max today announced that it has picked up its first scripted original series Love Life for a second season. Audiences love Love Life, the romantic comedy anthology series from Lionsgate Television that has quickly become one of the streaming platform’s top performers out of all available content, and this is the first Max Original to earn a renewal. Season one stars Oscar® nominee Anna Kendrick, and its final four episodes are now available to stream on HBO Max. Season two will remain set in New York City but will focus on a new character’s journey – one which explores what happens when you’ve lived your whole life knowing who your soulmate is, only to find out years into a marriage that it’s not the right fit at all. The new season will also cleverly key off characters in season one, and “Darby” (Anna Kendrick) will appear occasionally.

“It’s so rewarding to see Love Life embraced as an immediate hit. We are proud to pick up a second season of our first Max scripted original comedy,” said Kevin Reilly, Chief Content Officer at HBO Max, President, TNT, TBS and truTV. “We salute Anna, our creative team and partners at Lionsgate, and are delighted audiences have gravitated to Love Life in such a significant way. As a day one original, it is gratifying to see the strong response.”

“Love Life’s first season is ultimately a tale of personal resilience, human connection and how those we love shape our lives,” said Sarah Aubrey, head of original content, HBO Max. “It’s clear to me why audiences are responding with such enormous enthusiasm, and it’s with great pleasure that my creative team and I look forward to continuing our relationship with this talented group of executive producers and Lionsgate to make television that resonates.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to make another season of Love Life with the amazing people at HBO Max and Lionsgate Television, and to have the opportunity to explore a whole new protagonist. If only as a way to continue processing our own romantic damage,” said creator, co-showrunner and executive producer Sam Boyd and co-showrunner and executive producer Bridget Bedard.

“It’s been a labor of love working with everyone on Love Life and all who helped shaped Darby and brought her story to life. I am excited to be able to collaborate again with the team on a new character and their journey,” said executive producer and season one lead Anna Kendrick.

“We were thrilled to be the first scripted series to debut on HBO Max and now we’re doubly thrilled to be their first second season pickup,” said executive producer Paul Feig. “Our partnership with the entire team at the network has been wonderful and we can’t wait to dive in for more. We’re loving life at HBO Max!"

“Love Life is funny, heartbreaking and unconventional. It’s an incredible series with an amazing creative team,” said Lionsgate Head of Scripted Development Scott Herbst. “We’re very proud of our continued collaboration and excited to bring another season of this binge-worthy, platform-defining series to HBO Max viewers because we all need a little more love in our lives.”

Love Life is produced by Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment. The series comes from creator Sam Boyd (In a Relationship), who co-show runs with Bridget Bedard (Transparent, Ramy). Boyd and Bedard serve as executive producers alongside Anna Kendrick, Paul Feig (A Simple Favor, Bridesmaids) and Dan Magnante (Someone Great).
ON THE RECORD
Directed and produced by Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering (The Hunting Ground, The Invisible War), and first reported by the New York Times, On The Record presents the powerful haunting story of music executive Drew Dixon (collaborator on hit records by Method Man and Mary J. Blige, Estelle and Kanye West, and Whitney Houston) as she grapples with her decision to become one of the first women of color, in the wake of #MeToo, to come forward and publicly accuse hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons of sexual assault.

The documentary, which premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews, chronicles not only Dixon’s story but that of several other accusers – Sil Lai Abrams, Sheri Sher– delving deeply into the ways women of colors’ voices are all too often silenced and ignored when they allege sexual assault; as well as the cultural forces that pressure them to remain silent.

On The Record is produced by Dick and Ziering’s Jane Doe Films with Dan Cogan, Geralyn Dreyfous and Jenny Raskin for Impact Partners, Regina K Scully for Artemis Rising, Ian Darling for Shark Island Institute and Abigail Disney for Level Forward serving as executive producers. The creative team includes producers Jamie Rogers and Amy Herdy.
