The team behind “Justified” is reuniting to develop an FX series based on the Elmore Leonard novel “City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit,” with Timothy Olyphant potentially returning as Raylan Givens, Variety has learned exclusively.

“Justfied” creator Graham Yost will serve as executive producer, with “Justified” writers and executive producers Michael Dinner and Dave Andron onboard to co-write, executive produce, and serve as co-showrunners. Dinner will also direct. Chris Provenzano, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly of Timberman-Beverly, VJ Boyd, and Taylor Elmore will all return as executive producers. Peter Leonard of the Elmore Leonard Estate will executive produce in association with MGM. Walter Mosely will serve as a consulting producer, as will Ingrid Escajeda. Eisa Davis will produce. Sony Pictures Television will serve as the studio, as they did on “Justified.”

Today's Pitch Your Show edition focuses on shows H-L and includes the third and fourth most nominated shows, Leverage and The Librarians. Since Leverage is my favorite crime procedural of all time, I wholeheartedly agree with its pitches. The character growth in it alone should make it heavily sampled. However, if crime procedurals are not your thing, there are plenty of other shows to try from heartfelt Canadian dramas to historical fiction chronicling the rise of personal computers and modern medicine to the funniest zombie romp you'll ever watch and so much more. Here's hoping something catches your imagination. To keep the articles short and readable, all pitches were edited for length (less than 300 words), clarity, and grammar. I have also limited nominations to 3 per show with a few very popular shows having 4. I am truly sorry if your nomination is not in here. Know that I appreciate your time and pitches. Making the choice of what went in was difficult. After all sections are posted, I will include a link to the original spreadsheet so you can read them all in their entirety. Also, don’t forget to add your comments below. What shows do you recommend?

Milo – This show is just too good. If you've missed Mad Men, Halt and Catch Fire is the show for you, taking place in the 1980s and following the early rise in personal computers. Its four lead characters, played by Lee Pace, Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy and Kerry Bische are all absolutely fantastic in their performances. The series itself is one of those that rewards people who stick with it, perfectly bingeable with one great season after another. The character relations are great and it shines a rare spotlight on women in the tech industry, putting its two female leads front and center to great success. The soundtrack too is among the best on television, with carefully curated Spotify playlists available for each of the lead characters. The drama is consistently brilliant and it's unmissable, essential television.

LauraLoo – If gore and horror is not your thing I totally understand if you want to skip out on this show. It’s certainly not for everyone, and even I had to take my time getting through the first season. But if you can look past all of that and appreciate its beauty and aesthetics, then you will adore this show. It takes these characters that you’ve probably seen in one way before and shapes them into new beings. The chemistry between Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham is palpable all throughout the series, and if you know how the show ends it makes perfect sense, even at the beginning of the show. The rest of the characters are all outstanding too. It’s a wonder how none of them ever won any Emmys. Each season is remarkably different, with later seasons scrapping that procedural format and turning full-on serialized. It seems to be widely regarded that the last two seasons were the better ones, but I really enjoyed the first season for what it was. So, if watching shows like Hannibal is your design, then you’ll simply salivate over this offering too.

Milo – Bryan Fuller is currently working on his excellent series American Gods, so what better time to discover (or revisit) the wonderfully twisted Hannibal, that ran for three seasons on NBC before finally being axed but not before delivering some of the most memorable and gory episodes of television that I've ever seen. Boasting plenty of style, the show takes the Hannibal Lecter character to new heights following a brilliant performance by Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy, with Mikkelsen delivering a near iconic performance as Lecter himself. This is one of those rare shows that's best not saved for binge-watching, rather savoring a few episodes at a time, as it's just so uniquely crafted, brilliantly executed, and wonderfully made. Give it a shot. Despite being cancelled, it does have an effective ending that leaves the series open for a possible fourth season. By the end, you'll be wondering how a show as messed up as this ever ended up on NBC in the first place.

Kewana – The procedural action of the show will draw you in and keep you guessing each episode, but the great characters and relationships keep you watching and in awe. There isn't another friendship out there like the one on this show. It’s funny, loving, and entertaining. Not to mention, there are beautiful scenic shots of Hawaii, a diverse cast, and lots of fun to watch.

Joy Haldar – First and foremost, you DO NOT need to watch the original to enjoy this reboot. This is an independent, strong show on its own rights by all accounts. Now in its 8th season, it's still going strong quality wise & ratings wise (one of the rare broadcast shows whose numbers went up year-to-year). The cast is a pure gem. They feel like family from get to. From the charismatic leader in Steve to his nagging, worrywart, hilarious partner Danny, who is also the best TV dad IMHO, to bada** female characters like Kono, Doris, Catherine, this show has got it all. There's also great diversity, which makes it even more special in my eyes. The thing that instantly clicked with me was the epic bromance between Steve and Danny. I am a sucker for that and this show delivered and how! It's truly on another level. Another thing I appreciate is that there's no unnecessary romance melodrama to slow down the narrative. Sure, there are cases of the week but that's not ALL this show is. The character interactions are the main focus here, not the cases they solve. They work as a team and they would walk through fire for one another if need be. They always have each other's backs. The gorgeous backdrop of Hawaii only adds to the narrative. The way the showrunner and writers incorporate this island's traditions and culture into the show is just awe-inspiring. If there was ever a perfect procedural, this is IT. It's got a lot of heart. In no time you will fall in love with the characters and for those who love action, you won't be let down either. High octane chase sequences and explosions make a deadly combo. It’s perfect Friday night entertainment.
Priscilla Starkey – It's the greatest crime show on tv with great stars like Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan.

Amberly – Heartland is a heartwarming family drama about a family that runs a ranch in Alberta, Canada. Based on a book series, the show begins with death of Amy’s mother, which leads to her older sister returning home to help run the ranch with their grandfather. One of the main functions of the ranch is working to heal troubled and/or abused horses. The show is quite feel good, never too dark or angsty, and it follows the family through their work with horses and other animals as well as changes in their personal lives (marriage, children, etc.) There are lots of good characters you connect with as well as lots of beautiful horses. The show is Canadian and has aired 10 seasons so far and was recently renewed for an eleventh. The early seasons also feature recurring roles played by Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black).

Chelsea Para – The longest running scripted one hour show in Canada, Heartland is a family friendly drama that has good writing, interesting characters, and beautiful scenery and horses. People of every age can enjoy what the show brings to the table each week. You don't even have to be "horsey" to enjoy the show since plenty of time is spent on the human storylines as well. For those that are going to watch for the horses, this show covers many different disciplines and horsemanship techniques, all of which are fun to watch, and it's easy to get attached to all the character horses.
Folielex – Based on a comic book, this show chronicles the story of Christopher Chance, a former hit man who, plagued by a tragic and blood-soaked past, now works as a for-hire bodyguard. He protects his clients by secretly infiltrating their lives in order to draw out and eliminate threats. Running point on the missions is Winston, a former cop. Also, Guerrero, a former colleague from Chance's old life, more often than not offers his unique set of skills to help out. The second season also saw the addition of Mrs. Isla Pucci, a rich, socialite philanthropist who started out as a client and ended up footing the bill for the company, and Ames, a street smart thief who joins the team. Portrayed by the wonderful Mark Valley, Christopher Chance has all the Jason Bourne moves with all the James Bond charisma and wraps that up with a fun cowboy attitude that just make the show a joy to watch. The supporting cast of Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley is stellar, especially when it's just those two playing off each other. Their chemistry and their characters' bickering make for some of the best moments the whole series has to offer. The ladies introduced in season 2 were a welcome addition to the fully male cast and added some interesting layers and dynamics to the show. Overall this was a FUN-tastic piece of popcorn-action TV, with some great character moments peppered in there. I honestly wish there was more than just 25 episodes. On a positive note, there are no major cliffhangers, simply a "the show goes on despite the curtain call" vibe. So, feel free dive into this world and not be left hanging, just simply yearning there was more.
Ellys Cartin - An unexpected delight this TV season, Inbar Lavi plays chameleon Maddie, a con artist who works with a team in the employ of a sinister type called The Doctor. Her act is making people fall in love with and marry her. Then she takes everything they have. Imposters picks up when two of her former husbands team up to track her down. Ezra and Richard couldn't be any different, which produces quite a bit of humor as they start to form a junior con artist team of their own. As for Maddie, Lavi is a revelation, spellbinding as she switches personalities and studies her marks. The first season combines romance, road trip comedy, soapy suspense, and cat/mouse interactions to create a first-rate guilty pleasure.

Ezio Auditore – This is a different take on the zombie genre that is fun and quirky. The series stars Medical Examiner Olivia 'Liv' Moore who is scratched and turns into a brain craving zombie the night of a yacht party. Now working as an ME for Seattle police, Liv discovers that she has the ability to gain the memories, personality and skills of the deceased person whose brain she eats, allowing her to help solve their murders. Working alongside her is her eccentric boss Ravi, and a detective, Clive. All while, Liv tries to keep the secret of zombies from her roommate lawyer Peyton and her ex-fiancée Major. As the series progresses Liv learns there are others like her and that not all of them are as friendly as she is. Also, the accident that turned her into a zombie may not have been an accident after all.

Milo – The CW's main comic adaption that isn't from a superhero source material, it offers the most unique approach on the zombie genre that I've seen and is just so much fun. Liv Moore is a M.D., who becomes a zombie after attending a party and wakes up with a thirst for brains that give her memories - and the personalities - of the deceased whose brains she has consumed. So naturally, she gets a job at the morgue and as a result, there's several new cases, each with different and often hilarious consequences. The cast have among the best chemistry that I've seen in any show, and Rose McIver's acting is excellent as she adopts a brand-new personality each week. Fans of other CW shows will find plenty to love here, and it rarely disappoints. Three seasons in and with a fourth on the way, iZombie is a rarity among zombie shows - it's actually entertaining!

Dahne – Simply put, this is the most pure fun show on The CW. While many of their shows get bogged down in angst and melodrama, iZombie is there to entertain with one of the fastest moving plots on TV. The story twists and turns, going places you never think it will, including a massive twist at the end of the third season which makes the fourth season the most anticipated yet. It’s a sci-fi, police procedural with highly serialized season-long arcs becoming more serialized as the series goes on. Best of all, it never gets boring because Liv, the main character, changes in each episode based on whatever brain she ate last. Rose McIver does an inspired job of adding the changing character elements but still keeping the heart of Liv the same. Plus, it has a great strictly platonic relationship between Liv and Ravi, her boss in the ME’s lab. The banter between the two is a lot of fun without the unnecessary “will they-won’t they” nonsense that hampers and ruins most procedurals. If you are looking for a great romp of a TV show, try this one out. Don’t let the zombie thing stop you, because this is unlike any other zombie show on TV.
Charlotte – I'll be honest, I expected very little from this comedy when I tried it out. It's made by Youtubers and is exclusively available on a minor streaming service. But oh boy, should you not judge this series by its cover. It's genuinely one of the funnier shows I've seen anywhere, bigwig networks included. Its genre of humor leans on the silly side. Think of a show led by Parks and Rec's Andy Dwyer. It's creative, fun, and easy to laugh with. What more could you ask?

Milo – Justified is far more than just your average crime show. Adapted from the work of Elmore Leonard, this six-season long series follows the adventures of US Marshall Raylan Givens, a certified bada** with a badge. The villains are among the best I've ever seen on television, with particularly standout performances by Walton Goggins as Boyd Crowder as well as a spectacular role for Margo Martindale in the show's best season, its second. This show, hands down, has the best dialogue on television. Nothing else even comes close to matching its best lines. With one of the best finales ever, this crime show is a must watch, period. It's essentially a modern day western and always worth catching up on if you haven't seen it already.

Milo – Sadly cancelled after two seasons, Cinemax's The Knick is something that should not be overlooked as it is a pure gem and worth watching despite this. It's a medical show unlike any other medical show on television, taking place during the early years of medicine in early 1800’s New York. It's expertly directed and shot in a continuous way so that each scene perfectly transitions from the next, and its cinematography and direction is nothing short of superb, thanks in no small part to the involvement of the fantastic Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven) who directed every episode of Season 1. The soundtrack from Drive and Neon Demon composer Cliff Martinez is excellent, and the atmosphere is just brilliant. The cast is nothing short of exceptional too, with award-worthy performances by Clive Owen (Children of Men) and Andre Holland (Moonlight) in particular. It tackles issues such as racism, corruption and drug abuse all around the operating table, and still manages to maintain a large element of dark humor. It doesn't shy away from showing plenty of blood and guts though, so if you're squeamish, this is one to stay clear of!

Ellys Cartin – Before everyone decided to make military dramas again, TNT had already launched its thrilling, suspenseful The Last Ship. I love this show to pieces. It's rare for me to care about every character on a show, but these post-apocalyptic dramas always do it for me. The crew of the USS Nathan James thinks they are just on a normal off-the-grid mission, escorting a couple scientists on the side. But when they resume communications at the end of the mission, they discover the world as they knew it is gone, lost to a terrible plague and there's no time machine to fix it. There's no zombies either, though that's small comfort, especially when most of them have lost their entire families. Now they have a new mission: helping the scientists make a vaccine and then rebuilding the world from the ground up. Of course, whoever controls the vaccine will control the new world, so they face multiple enemies on land and at sea. This produces countless exciting action sequences. You don't want to miss Eric Dane as Captain Tom Chandler and Adam Baldwin as Captain Mike Slattery. I could go on and on about each character, including Special Forces team members Danny, Carlton, and, later on, Wolf. Just when you think the show can't get any better, it has its best season yet in season 3 when Bridget Regan joins the cast!

Ellys Cartin – If you had told me last year that Legends of Tomorrow would ditch all its season 1 baggage, bring in the best villain lineup ever, and become totally awesome for season 2, I would not have believed you but that's what happened. No need to watch season 1. The show brings you up to speed. Sara Lance, former deluxe assassin/recently resurrected bada** takes the captain's chair of the time ship Waverider, leading Firestorm, Atom, Vixen and historian Nate Heywood everywhere from the Jurassic Area to the Moon to Camelot to World War 1. Their mission is to work together to thwart the attempts of the Legion of Doom (so entertaining) to rewrite reality and find out where their former leader Rip Hunter has gotten to. Along the way, the show is just a ton of fun, with neat visual effects and costumes, as well as exciting action pieces. The show could only be more perfect if it had amazing character development and a strong villain....OH, WAIT, it has all that too! This is one so good you'll want to rewatch!!!

Ellys Cartin – Whether you won't watch a comic book show to save your life or your life revolves around comic book shows, Legion is not to be missed. David Haller lives in Clockworks Psychiatric Hospital, because supposedly voices in his head drove him to attempt suicide. His existence of pills and therapy sessions is disrupted by a newcomer, Syd Barrett. The quiet young woman doesn't let anyone touch her, but David is drawn to her and they become friends. Then the day comes for Syd to be released. Things go horribly wrong and those voices in David's head just might be pretty dangerous. Yes, Legion is connected to the X-Men universe. Yes, there are mutants but it doesn't follow the same old formula. Sinister backstory reveals itself to us, as David begins to understand what he's capable of, and the show uses creative, entrancing visuals to illustrate his journey. In addition to fine work from Dan Stevens as David, the supporting cast, especially Aubrey Plaza, present top-notch characters. You have to pay attention while watching Legion, but there's real payoff when you do. The whole story comes together wonderfully!

Milo – You want weird? You've got weird. Weird is pretty much the one word that most sums up Legion, the breakout new series of 2017. It's smart, clever and inventive, with nods to movies like A Clockwork Orange, and is far and away the most unique take on the X-Men universe yet. But then, given the nature of David Haller in the comics, anything less would have been a disappointment. Often confusing but always great, featuring an Emmy-worthy performances by Aubrey Plaza, Dan Stevens, and Rachel Keller, Legion is the must watch show of the year and with a great soundtrack to boot, it's one of this year's most unique shows and should not be ignored under any circumstances.
They found the perfect ensemble for Leverage without giving in to stereotypes. I enjoyed watching those loners turn into a family and how they used their criminal talents for good, helping people that nobody else would or could help. The stories were always realistic and never lost their humor despite being a con show. I still enjoy going back and regularly watching an episode, as for 40 minutes they make you believe that there are actually people out there that can make this unfair world right again for a little while. How ironic that it's a gang of thieves of all people. Yeah, sometimes the bad guys really do make the best good guys.

Emily Dickinson – Entertaining for the whole family! Amazing cast with great chemistry! Never a dull moment!

Mary E. Brewster – Why to watch Leverage? So many reasons. The premise of the show to begin with. There’s the Robinhoodlums, five different and distinctive personalities, that come together to help those who have been wronged and can’t go against the establishment (or person) on their own. They each bring their own sets of talents to the table – mastermind, grifter, hacker, thief, and hitter. Together they help those who can't help themselves because sometimes the best good guys are the bad guys. The scripts are sometimes taken from the headlines and brought to life with creative genius. I love how at the end of the episode it shows how each of the cons were pulled off, a mini re-cap of the episode. The action is in good proportion, not too much and not too little. The actors (Christian Kane, Aldis Hodge, Gina Bellman, Beth Riesgraf, Timothy Hutton) fit so well with their characters and worked so well together that it came across on the screen. The sets and locations were as well chosen as the cast. The whole show came together to create a wonderful hour of fun, exciting entertainment. The chemistry of the cast though is what makes the show magnificent and still well-loved. So Leverage is my recommendation!

Telisha – They are highly trained at doing bad things - hacking, beating people up, stealing, etc. - but they decide to take on the bad guys who use legal loopholes, money and power to continue to hurt people through drug trials that kill, companies that legally steal homes, and more. They go after the people the law can't and they do it as a family. The close-knit inner family really makes the show great.

Kathy Ares – The Librarians is a great family show, full of suspense, action, and magic. Everyone will enjoy it.

Clarike - Family-fun series with a hint of history that grows on you a little more every season!

Honorat – It’s fun for the whole family and doesn't take itself too seriously. There’s lots of variety in episodes and has great characters and actors. Smart and even occasionally educational, it can also have emotional and dramatic moments. Plus, it doesn't believe in cliff hanger season finales. Mixing up the stereotypes, the guardian colonel is a woman. The Asian character is a lovable rogue, the thief with a heart of gold who can't fight and is full of snark. The cowboy bar-fighting character is the art historian and linguist who loves literature. The girl in the cute clothes is the cutthroat scientist, non-neurotypical, and bi. The head librarian is charming and scatterbrained but a genius. John Laroquette--need I say more. It's a great ensemble cast.

Karen Wampler - It's a bit of action, a bit of comedy, and a whole lot of family friendly television!

Limitless: Netflix

LauraLoo – If you like any of the following you will enjoy this show: a wide variety of adorable and interesting characters, a stunningly layered and complex villain, a thoroughly relatable protagonist, a crime procedural that is so much more than just that, a serialized story arc surrounding a mythology that is routed in captivating sci-fi elements, a soundtrack and score that always plays the right songs in the right moments, a set of actors, actresses, writers, directors, and other creative cast and crew members who not just perform amazingly but have fun with the material they are creating, a show that gets better each week, a show that encompasses and transcends every genre you can think of? Limitless masked itself behind "your typical CBS police procedural", but proved week after week that it had so much more to offer. NZT-48 is a drug that allows you to access the full potential inside of you, and with that comes a lot of crazy scenarios and situations. If you dropped it after the pilot in fear that it would be unoriginal and boring, it is NOT. This show cared deeply about how it presented its cases of the week. Whether it was quirky animations or Brian's crazy NZT antics, the writers knew about the inherent stigma towards this genre and always strived to create a world beyond this, despite the serialized moments being the best part of every episode. If that's not enough, the two lead characters weren't involved in some forced romance. They remained friends and that friendship was excellent. This show knew how to have fun and serious, heartfelt moments. It was cancelled too soon, but fear not, it did not end on a cliffhanger.

Ellys Cartin - Lucifer was not what I expected. I started watching with the season 2 premiere, and it took my breath away. For one thing, the cast is amazing and the strong storytelling perfectly complements their talent. The cases of the week capture your attention, the screenwriting is peppered with smart humor, and almost no other show as thoughtfully or realistically handles spiritual questions like this one does. Every episode is super entertaining. Characters grow and change, you actually don't see the twists coming, and Tricia Helfer plays Lucifer's loving but scheming Mom! I can't help but watch it live, although all episodes are available on Hulu to binge...again and again.
15. THE WALKING DEAD - Carol fights the Wolves
Diz: "Carol kicks ass. When the wolves come in to town and Carol kicks their butts. It was really awesome. And it's just great to see how far Carol has come."
Luana Arturi: "Carol goes all desert-warrior on the Wolves - She proved once again how much of a bad-ass she has turned into."
Maplab98: "Carol being bad-ass in 6.02. Such an amazing character in her best moment."
14. DAREDEVIL - The hallway fight scene
Irem: "The hallway fight scene - It's one of the best fight scenes I've ever seen."
Toniinterrupted: "The hallway fight scene. Amazing. Everything about it was done right. The stunts, directing, acting. It was simply amazing"
13. MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD - Grant Ward's death
Mel: "Ward has been a main character from the beginning, first he was good then he was bad, then you saw him for what he truly was - irrevocably damaged by the abuse of his parents and older brother. Ward's apparent death was his heart crushed by his former commander's prosthetic hand and then an alien creature possessed his body leaving us with questions: Was he possessed before or after he died? Is Ward dead for good or is there a chance the alien entity can be removed and Ward's life saved?"
Iceman27: "Coulson kills Grant Ward, but "It" takes his body- Huge Agents of SHIELD-like twist for the midseason finale that signified the end of Ward's terror and revenge for Phil but also Brett Dalton gets to stay on a little longer!"

12. MARVEL'S AGENT CARTER - Peggy's questioned by the SSR
Emma: "Carter's explanation on why she was able to investigate without Sousa, Dooley or Thompson noticing. Many movies/TV shows romanticize the "old days" but Carter's speech about being invisible to the men because she is a woman was an unflinching portrayal of the times."
Kris: "When Peggy has been captured and is being interrogated in the SSR. She puts each man in his place by explaining how they took her for granted, and because of that didn't realize how great of an agent she is."
11. JUSTIFIED - "We dug coal together"
Toniinterrupted: "The final scene of the Justified finale. Raylan and Boyd say goodbye in a way only they could. It was poignant, well written and acted. Justified writers couldn't have given us a more true ending. They respected the show and the fans. It was beautiful and I still tear up thinking about it. This is probably my favorite episode of the series and of all of TV this past year. Boyd - "We dug coal together." Raylan: "That's right." That's it. So simple, so true to character and so beautifully done."
Elhar: "As I told right after the finale - the real drama and art isn't when the actors are crying, but when they make us do it. Justified was the rare occasion when the last season, the last episode and the closing moments were all excellent, grew up to all of my expectations."
10. THE ORIGINALS - Cami's death
fandomking1: "I almost went with another, but I have to go with the moment in the mid-season finale where Klaus wakes up to find Cami apparently dead. I chose this moment not only because it was so unpredictable, so shocking, but because, regardless of whether or not Cami is actually dead (I'm still holding out hope she's alive), it is a major game changer. Cami was the show's token human, so to kill her off was a major plot twist. After the last season and a half, where the Cami and Cami/Klaus fan base steadily rose in popularity, it was a bold move to give them what they wanted only to kill Cami and rip out Klaus' heart not five minutes later. Regardless of whether she stays dead, I think this will definitely change the dynamic in the show and we will definitely see Klaus out for blood when the show returns."
snowby: "The moment Cami died in the mid-season finale. It was so moving and tragic considering Cami's evolution and calls back to the ending of Season 1 where Klaus tells Cami there are people out there determined to destroy everything he finds beautiful. Cue Cami dying in Klaus' arms 2 seasons later, as he screams in anguish."
9. THE 100 - Clarke says goodbye to Bellamy and leaves Camp Jaha
Missions: "May we meet again… Those words completely broke my heart. This was the first scene of 2015 that made me cry and left me depressed for days, it was astonishing with perfect background music, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Doors”. The chemistry between the two actors, Eliza Taylor and Bob Morley, was amazing. It is hard to even explain why I liked this scene so much as it just broke me emotionally. Furthermore, it was a perfect end (even though there is another scene) to what was nearly a flawless season and it left me mourning that the show would not be back for quite a while. Last but not least, I was very happy that the relationship between Bellamy and Clarke was going in the right direction."
Jessica: "In the finale of the second season, Clarke tells Bellamy she is leaving and gives him a kiss on the cheek. This moment was special because it showed how far Bellamy and Clarke have come. These two characters hated each other, and now they respect and care for each other very much. This scene was touching and gave me goosebumps when “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” started playing. When Clarke left, it broke my heart but also made me very curious. What will happen when the show starts in January?"
8. ONCE UPON A TIME - Emma kills Hook
Ivan: "Emma is forced to kill Hook. What's with Emma and every one of her True Loves dying in her arms?! This is the third love she's had to watch die and Jennifer Morison and Colin O'Donoghue were just plain unbelievable in that scene."
Swan song: "The demise of all the Dark Ones to the underworld, including Killian Jones aka Hook. The love between the characters when Swan pushed the sword into Killian had me in tears. I know it's make believe but when make believe leaves you feeling utterly drained and heartbroken well that's when you have a hit tv series. Totally connected with the characters all of them. Well done."
7. ONCE UPON A TIME - Emma becomes Dark One
Niallerz1992: "Most of season 4B was teasing Emma turning towards the darkness and everything seemed to point towards her beating the darkness, and the twist that the writers put in was cleverly done. The darkness escaping and trying to consume Regina and Emma saving her was a true act of a Savior. The scene was brilliantly shot and was unexpected. And the final shot of Emma's name on the Dark One Dagger was a perfect way to end the season and that moment gave me chills. And off topic the twist of Dark Emma paid off in season 5A."
Khyleesi: "OH. MY. GOD. Never have I ever expected the female lead, the perfect heroine to turn into the show's antagonist. It's a risky arc to play and I love that the writers aren't playing it safe with her. They want to give Emma depth and complexity. We need more interesting and well-rounded women on TV and I think OUAT's Emma Swan fits in to that category."
6. JESSICA JONES - The final confrontation with Kilgrave
Aimee Hicks: "This show had a ton of amazing moments and my favorite moment has changed as I've watched the episodes again. I think the moment that stands out the most and best defines the season as a whole is the final confrontation with Kilgrave. The whole season gave us one example after another of the pure love Jessica and Trish share. These two women are best friends and will do anything for each other. Which made it all the more heartbreaking for Jessica to have to standby and watch Kilgrave force Trish to do things under his command. She knew the only way to get Trish out of danger was to play along and the moment she looked over his shoulder and told Trish she loves her I'm confident every fan started to cheer. Kilgrave thought he'd found Jessica's weakness by taking Trish from her, but in fact he tapped into the very thing that gives her strength. In the end it was the love Jessica and Trish share that became Kilgrave's downfall. This scene was a stunning representation of the entire season and brought the season long arc to a very satisfying end."
Diz: "Really everything about Jessica Jones. I'm going to go with the end of the season, Kilgrave thinks he finally has power over her again and it turns out he doesn't, she tricked him and she kills him. SO AWESOME. She's free from his control, this whole show really nails what it's like for survivors. How hard it is, but that it gets better."
5. ARROW - The proposal
Gigigirl31: "Oliver Queen's proposal to Felicity Smoak! It was so romantic and done in front of family, friends and Star City during the lighting of a Christmas tree of hope and light!"
Inga North: "Proposal scene in Dark Waters. Because it was such a long waited and beautiful scene between Oliver and Felicity."
Olicity: "When Oliver proposed to Felicity! Loved how he referenced her as his light and his happiness."
4. THE ORIGINALS - Klaus and Cami admit their feelings
ViKi: "Klaus and Cami acknowledge their feelings. Klaus is such a passionate character, in his bad and good moments, that one can't help but be touched when he's saying to this woman he wants to protect her and her happiness no matter what. Their joyness after kissing, the look into each other's eyes instead of just ripping off their clothes was such a romantic moment, that the twist at the end was just utterly devastating."
Krys: "Klaus and Cami's first kiss. Because they've been slowly building this relationship up for 2 years. It was long awaited and such a beautiful moment with Klaus finally confessing his feelings for her."
3. PERSON OF INTEREST - Shaw's sacrifice
AmbulanceRuse: "The end of If-Then-Else. The overall cinematography is beautiful. The slow-mo both intensifies the scene, and reflects the Machine's decision-making process shown through much of the episode. Amy Acker does well in showing Root's anguish while ultimately muted, as the sound is dominated by one of the most striking pieces Ramin Djawadi has composed for the show, a new arrangement of Shaw's theme. Still, the strongest emotional punch, for me, comes from the Machine desperately trying to find a scenario in which Shaw survives. Major kudos to the POI writers for giving the Machine such impact, giving it some humanity while keeping it sufficiently alien."
Fringenos: "Shaw sacrifices herself to save Team Machine. The moment is simply perfect. From the hauntingly beautiful music to the superb acting especailly by Amy Acker and The Machine watching helplessly, everything is just right."
2. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES - Damon and Elena's goodbye dance
AimToMisbheave: "Damon and Elena's last dance in 6x22. This scene was brilliant because of how it used dance to express their goodbye. Dance was always used to show the progression of their relationship since the very first season when they danced at the Miss Mystic Falls pageant, when it first became incredibly obvious that there was something going on between the two of them. The dance in 6x22 referenced that moment with the "near touch", and then made references to all their other dances they've had throughout the seasons. And after so many not-so-subtle references to marriage in season 6 (Damon's "till death do us part", declaring that he wants to be her husband, etc.), this felt a little like their first dance as a married couple. As executive producer Caroline Dries said, it was the biggest moment of the season, and one of the biggest of the series. It was a beautiful (albeit temporary) goodbye to Delena until Elena wakes up."
ViKi: "I was not fan of this couple, but I was really moved by their final scene together. Elena saying she wants him to be happy and not just sit and wait for her, their dancing and final kiss. 1. HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER - Annalise gets shot
Missions: "Annalise begs the “Keating Four” to shoot her in order to get away with murder. It was very hard to choose one scene from this winter finale, let alone this entire season, it has been fantastic. We had all been anxiously waiting to see who shot Annalise, and fortunately, it did not disappoint. It was not the reveal of Wes shooting her that was so amazing, but how Annalise begs everyone to do so. The acting in this scene was outstanding, everyone brought their A-game, the music perfectly suited the very dramatic scene, and the directing was on spot! Brilliant scene that absolutely had my jaw on the floor, especially after Annalise reveals that Rebecca was dead. Viola Davis deserves to win every single award for this. “Shoot me in the leg” was the line that broke my heart since you could see how troubled Annalise is."
Cait4TTC: "The shooting of Annalise- Utterly horrifying, and yet- damn. The terror, panic, and desperation of the characters all but radiated off the screen. I think some people predicted that Annalise would be the cause of her own injury, but the how and the why were as shocking as anything we've seen on this show."
Spindae2: "The scene was a dance on the line between amazing strength and desperation with each cast member giving all they had. The tears shattered felt real and each time one of the Keating 4 denied Annalise's wish to shot her you could feel a knife being pierced into Annalise's back."

Hey all,

Our opening battle today sees cult favourite Firefly, cancelled after one season, take on FX's recently ended Justified. Firefly certainly has the stronger online presence and I would expect it to triumph today. Our other poll sees ABC and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD as it takes on How I Met Your Mother. SHIELD started out slowly and caused frustration from a lot of fans, while the CBS comedy's series finale caused mass uproar amongst the fans, and it'll be interesting to see whether any of that anger carries over here and turns fans away from voting for the show.

A reminder of the rules:

1) Two shows will go into battle in a poll, where after exactly 24 hours, the leading show will win the battle and will progress into the next round.
2) Vote for your favourite, spread the word with your friends & fans.
3) To vote, login with either your Facebook, Twitter or Google+ profile. If you don't want to use any of those, you can go direct to Opinion Stage and get an account to vote.
4) Comment on what you voted for on in the comments below.
5) Have fun. This is a friendly & competitive competition. Please do not start attacking other fans or fangroups in the comments, because this really isn't what this competition is about.

Thanks to Alex Mack wears a hat for the heads up.

One, two Freddy’s coming for you. Three, four a remake’s in store. In an effort to ensure that audiences never sleep again, New Line Cinema is moving forward with a remake/reboot of the iconic horror franchise NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. Plans are to scrap the lackluster 2010 reboot and start with a fresh new take.

Plot details are kept under lock and key, though fans can safely assume that the red-and-green sweater/fedora wearing Freddy Krueger will once again be up to his old tricks, ready to terrorize a new group of sleep-deprived youngsters. There’s no producer on board yet, but Orphan scribe David Leslie Johnson has been tapped to script. Toby Emmerich, Walter Hamada, and Dave Neustadter will oversee for New Line.

Ever since Wes Craven’s 1984 classic A Nightmare on Elm Street gave birth to horror icon Freddy Krueger, the franchise has become a cultural phenomenon and established its place alongside slasher faves like Halloween and Friday The 13th. Spanning nine films in total, including a remake and crossover Freddy Vs. Jason, the series has also spun-off into other media, generating over twelve novels, multiple comic books, several video games, and even a television series.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: We know Dr. Taft’s great at his job. What’s his personality like?
JON CRYER: He’s kind of the Jeff Goldblum of naval surgeons. Bit of a wiseass. Way too comfortable making jokes in the operating room. Can probably play a mean jazz piano.

Is he a good guy, or can we expect something more sinister?
I think he’s a good guy. But I’m also one of those people who believe that the right set of circumstances can turn a good guy bad.

What will NCIS fans find most fascinating about Taft, and what do you find most fascinating about him?

So far, the writers have only hinted at the depths of him. What I’m looking forward to is seeing his friendship with Gibbs. He’s not the kind of guy Gibbs usually takes to.
At the explosive center of the action, Western-style, Stetson-wearing, gun-slinging U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) confronts murder, drugs, bank heists, mobsters, crime families, corrupt politicians and even his own tumultuous past - and never backs down. His ultimate adversary is the cunning, complex outlaw Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins), but the real wild card is Ava Crowder (Joelle Carter), the mysterious woman torn between the two men and both sides of the law. From creator Graham Yost and based on legendary author Elmore Leonard's crime novella "Fire in the Hole," it all leads to a perfectly unexpected final showdown.

Another year, meaning, another set of Emmy nominations providing huge shockers and snubs.

Like all years, the Emmy nominations are always a huge talking point; with some saying it's more of a popularity contest than anything else. Whilst I can agree to some extent, this year did serve some justice to those few actors that have been snubbed for consecutive years now. Of course, I'm talking mostly about Elisabeth Moss and Tatiana Maslany. I don't watch either Mad Men or Orphan Black, but I did catch an episode or two of each this year; both of them were fantastic in their roles and did deserve a nomination. There are obviously a few shockers as well, ranging from Jim Parson's absence from best comedic actor to Emilia Clarke's nomination for best-supporting actress.

Anyway, here are just a few of the nominations that shocked, surprised and delighted me.

Biggest Snubs

1) Charlie Hunnam - Sons of Anarchy might just go down as one of the worst snubbed shows of all time. Charlie Hunnam throughout the final season of Sons delivered some mind-blowing performances. It was his best season yet and the most tragic for his character, Jax Teller.

2) Walton Goggins - Come on. I mean, seriously. Walton should have received two nominations, one for Justified and one for Sons of Anarchy. This is the last year he could have got an Emmy nomination for either so I'm extremely shocked he didn't - especially as he played both characters so brilliantly.

3) Jonathan Pryce - It was an absolute delight to watch Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow throughout season 5 of Game of Thrones. He brought the character to life and made him someone to fear and watch out for. Also, with the exception of Pedro Pascal, Jonathan was easily the shows best guest actor in a long time. I'm shocked he didn't get a nomination.

4) Ruth Wilson - I don't watch The Affair, but I'm very surprised the Golden Globe winner for best actress didn't get a nomination. I didn't expect her to win, but I thought a nomination was guaranteed.

5) Eden Sher- I honestly don't know what Eden has to do to get nominated. Season 6 of The Middle was the year of Sue - which gave Eden a lot of screen time and time to shine. She gets better each year as a comedic actress and yet she keeps getting snubbed.

6) Billy Bob Thornton - Another shocking snub. The Big Bang Theory has had a lot of guest actors over the years, but none as good as Thornton. His character was so creepy, but Thornton made him unique with his own style of acting.

7) Vera Farmiga - I've still not wrapped my head around it.

8) Sam Heughan – I’m speechless. He delivered a powerful and emotional performance during the last two episodes of Outlander especially. The show covered a sensitive subject of rape and Heughan handled it very well, delivering a performance unlike any other. One that left you horrified for the character, but also deeply upset. This, for me, is the biggest snub of 2015. In fact, I'm shocked that Outlander received just one nomination after such an incredible début season.

Biggest Surprises

1) Jim Parsons - His reign at the Emmys could well be over. Parsons has been nominated 6 times in 6 years and has won 4 Emmys for his role as Sheldon Cooper. It came as a shock to me to see him not included in the best comedic actor category, but from a personal standpoint, I can see why.

2) Emilia Clarke - This surprised me a lot. I didn't think Clarke was that good during season 5. I'm happy for her; I just feel there were a few more actresses who deserved a nod that didn't get one.

3) Downton Abbey - It's been nominated for years now, and each year I can't understand why. I'm sure it's a good show, but when you compare it to "House of Cards" or "Game of Thrones" it doesn't match up.

4) Anthony Anderson - So unexpected. I still can't wrap my head around it.

5) Kevin Spacey - House of Cards didn't have a great season. It wasn't as strong as its previous ones which is why I'm quite surprised to see Spacey among the nominees. He wasn't as engaging as he was during seasons 1 and 2 and didn't have many big moments to shine. He’s had some controversial moments, but not award-winning moments.

6) Modern Family - I feel Modern Family now just gets nominated for the sake of being nominated. With so many new comedies coming out, I wonder if Modern Family's time should be up. I'm sure it's great, but for it to win nearly every year amazes me. I watched an episode the other day and I didn't laugh once; I find the appeal for the show confusing.

7) American Horror Story - After such an uneven season - and, in my opinion, the worst season yet - it shocks me to see the show pick up 19 Emmy nominations. The season was full of bad writing and terrible acting. The storyline also was horrendous and very boring.

8) Mandy Patinkin - He's been nominated twice now for his role as Saul on Homeland and I really thought he'd get a third, as the Academy seem to love nominating him.

9) Liev Schreiber - After being snubbed last year it was a huge shock that he grabbed a nomination this year. He has been nominated twice for a Golden Globe, so an Emmy nomination was bound to happen eventually, but I didn't think it would be this year.

Absolute Delights

1) Viola Davis - Viola deserves the nomination so much. She made a huge impact in her role as Keating and without her on HTGAWM the show wouldn't be the same. Keating is a powerful, feisty character; Viola is half of the reason she's so great.

2) Lena Headey - It's one thing to read about the walk of atonement, but to see it on screen was incredible. Lena was amazing. That moment alone secured the nomination.

3) Taraji P. Henson - This one was obvious. If she hadn't been nominated I would have lost the plot. Cookie is such a big character and one that makes such an impact each episode. Taraji never got the Emmy love she deserved when she was on Person of Interest, but I'm thrilled she's finally being noticed for the incredible actress she is.

4) Diana Rigg – She is the best guest actress by far, and one that I look forward to seeing each episode. She's been nominated for two years running now - which makes this the third - she has to win, surely?

5) Jeffery Tambor - It's not surprising he got a nomination. After Transparent won best comedy and he took home best actor at the Golden Globes, if he didn't get a nomination it wouldn't have been right. I'm delighted for him anyway. He truly deserves it; he's the one I hope wins.

6) Lily Tomlin - Grace and Frankie was a rather interesting comedy - one I checked out just the other day. It was different, but I did enjoy it. Both Lily and Jane deserve to be nominated together as they are both what makes the show as good as it is, but I'm pleased to see one of them grab a nomination at least.

7) Peter Dinklage - He should have been won last year after that trial speech, but I'm equally pleased to see him get a nomination this year. He probably won't win, but I'm happy he's been recognized.

8) Reg E. Cathey - I'm surprised as I am delighted. He's a great actor and one I have missed seeing around a lot on House of Cards.

9) Tatiana Maslany - It's about time. Like I said, I don't watch the show, but with so many fans telling me how great she is on Orphan Black - and hearing how she's been snubbed a few times - I think it's only fair she gets the nomination she deserves. I saw one episode and she was incredible. It's never easy playing one role, but playing multiple roles requires a remarkable actress. She is remarkable.

Hey all,

Well, here we go. The nomination phase is over and the draw has been done. Just before we get to the draw, I just want to mention a couple of things from the nominations. We received nearly 900 nominations that spanned almost 500 different episodes. That's a pretty impressive turn-out from all of you who submitted, and it's really nice to see a lot of variation in people's submissions. A lot only got one or two votes and so unfortunately didn't make it in, but I enjoy seeing the different episodes that people love.

Anyway, onto the draw. The draw was done so that:
1. The top eight seeds (in bold) cannot face each other until the quarter-finals.
2. No episodes of the same show face each other in the first round.

The draw is as follows:

A quick comment about the top eight seeds - Person of Interest's 'If-Then-Else' easily took the number one seed with 254 nominations, while the fourth season finale picked up 105 to give it fourth seed. Arrow's 'The Fallen' started slow, but built up its nominations to 142, giving it the number two seed, while the CW show's 'My Name Is Oliver Queen' had 108 putting it third. The 100's second season finale took fifth - 'Spacewalker' came sixth. Game of Thrones' 'Hardhome', which aired the day before the deadline, was seventh seed while The Flash's first season finale took the final seed.

So, enough of all that. Let's move on to the actual competition...

The rules are as follows:
1. Two episodes go head to head for 24 hours. The episode that emerges as winner will go through to the next round.
2. Vote for your favourite episode, and tell us what you voted for.
3. Tell others about the competition! Social media is your best friend in this competition if you want your favourite episode to win.
4. Be respectful. This is a competition, but be friendly. Let's not have any abuse directed at any person, fandom or show, as we've had on occasion in the past.

The first of this year's polls features two first season finales, as The Flash's 'Fast Enough' takes on The Leftovers' 'The Prodigal Son Returns'. We move on to see Outlander's 'The Wedding' face Orphan Black's 'Certain Agony of the Battlefield'. As many may remember, Outlander won the 2014 Series Competition so I'm interested to see how the show does in this competition. Next, we have The Musketeers' 'The Accused' taking on one of my favourite episodes in the past year - Banshee's incredibly brutal episode 'Tribal'. Finally, Justified's series finale is up against Supernatural's tenth season finale, 'My Brother's Keeper'.

THE TELEVISION CRITICS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2015 TCA AWARD NOMINEES

Celebrated Dramas ‘The Americans’, ‘Empire’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Transparent’ Go Head-To-Head for the Title of Program of the Year

The 31st Annual TCA Awards will be presented on Saturday, August 8, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel

LOS ANGELES – Thursday, June 4, 2015 – The Television Critics Association (TCA) — a media organization with more than 200 professional TV critics and journalists from the United States and Canada — announced today the nominations for the 31st Annual TCA Awards. The 2015 TCA Awards recognize outstanding television programming in the 2014-2015 season, honoring actors, producers and programs in a variety of categories, including news and information, youth, reality, drama and comedy. The winners of the 31st Annual TCA Awards will be announced at the invitation-only presentation on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, as part of the group’s bi-annual industry conference, the summer press tour. The celebrity host for the event will be announced later this month.

The nominations are spread across five broadcast networks—ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW —as well as PBS, nine cable networks and Internet streaming services Netflix and Amazon. HBO leads the way with seven nominations; ABC, CBS, AMC, and FX each have five; Fox, PBS, The CW, and Amazon each have four; NBC and Comedy Central each have three; ABC Family has two; and Netflix, Starz, Logo, Nickelodeon and SundanceTV each finish with one. This year’s roster of notable nominees includes “Veep” star and 2014 TCA Award winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus, “Mad Men” standout Jon Hamm, comedy sensation Amy Schumer, and Oscar® nominee Viola Davis; as well as a wide variety of programming ranging from “Game of Thrones,” “The Big Bang Theory” and “Justified,” to “Sesame Street,” “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” and “Dancing with the Stars,” among others.

This year’s lineup also features a fresh batch of newcomers, with first-time nominees including AMC’s hit “Breaking Bad”-spinoff “Better Call Saul,” starring Bob Odenkirk; Fox’s music industry drama “Empire”; Netflix’s critically acclaimed series “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” co-created by Tina Fey; Amazon’s family dramedy “Transparent,” starring Jeffrey Tambor; HBO news show “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”; The CW favorites “Jane the Virgin” and “The Flash”; and ABC standouts “How To Get Away With Murder” and “Fresh Off The Boat.”

Looking to claim the title of Program of the Year from previous winner, “Breaking Bad”, is a crop of celebrated dramas — FX’s Soviet spy caper “The Americans”; Fox hit “Empire,” created by Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Lee Daniels; HBO’s sweeping fantasy epic “Game of Thrones,” adapted from George R.R. Martin’s esteemed book series; AMC’s decade-spanning ad agency mainstay “Mad Men”; and the first-year Amazon original series “Transparent.”

“TCA members face yet another difficult decision this year, as they prepare to cast their votes for the winners in each category. This was an incredible season for returning favorites and new additions alike, and we’re looking forward to seeing what our members have chosen as the best of the best, when the winners are announced on August 8,” said TCA President Scott D. Pierce, television critic at The Salt Lake Tribune.

The TCA Awards will also bestow a special Heritage Award trophy to one long-standing program that has had a major cultural or social impact. This year, the TCA members have nominated an impressive lineup of some of TV’s most memorable and groundbreaking series, featuring the long-running late night staple “Late Show/Late Night with David Letterman”; beloved sitcom “Friends”; police precinct drama “The Shield,” starring Michael Chiklis and Walton Goggins; Gene Roddenberry’s influential sci-fi saga “Star Trek”; and the mind-bending small town murder mystery “Twin Peaks,” created by visionary auteur David Lynch.

In addition to honoring the absolute best that this year’s programming has to offer, the organization presents a Career Achievement Award to an individual who has influenced television through his or her work on the small screen.

The Summer TCA kicks off Tuesday, July 28 with Netflix; the cable portion of the tour begins Wednesday, July 29; PBS rolls in Saturday, August 1; Amazon presents Monday, August 3; the broadcast segment starts Tuesday, August 4; digital networks present on Sunday, August 9; and the event concludes Thursday, August 13.
