Justyna: The entire sequence when Ruby enters the particle infusion chamber and successfully bonds her cells with (8% of) gravitonium makes for such an intense and powerful scene. It's everything her life was building up to and yet the second the procedure starts, it becomes clear what a grave mistake she's made. The fact that it's even possible to relate to her character and feel sorry for her is a testament to the great job the actress and writers have done in this moment. Ruby's in a terrible pain and she completely loses control over her powers. She accidentally causes Strucker's death and then attacks Fitz and Simmons when they're unable to reverse the process. The voices in her head cause her to damage everything around her and her mother is the only one able to at least partially calm her down. Though everything the team has been trying to do was focused on stopping the Destroyer of Worlds, once Ruby leaves the chamber it's no longer about good vs. evil or Ruby vs. Daisy. It's such an interesting turn in the story and the fact that the episode ends with Elena's choice to kill her makes this even more impactful and surprising to watch. Kudos to the cast & crew for their great work. Special shout-out to Dove Cameron who did a wonderful job with Ruby's portrayal during this painful transformation. Can't wait to see next episode already.
Justyna: I thoroughly enjoyed watching this show week after week and I'm excited to see what's gonna happen next in season two. There were so many wonderful scenes that I could highlight (like Pierce family vs. Proctor or the flashbacks), but it's the fight sequence set to "Tiimmy Turner" by Desiigner that made the biggest impression on me. The rhythm of the song worked perfectly with the confrontations taking place at Pierce family's location and at Proctor's headquarters simultaneously. I loved the transitions between the two fights that allowed for the scene to continue through different characters' perspectives. Starting from Lynn, Gambi and Jennifer who have to take down ASA operatives entering the house they are hiding in. Both Lynn and Jennifer find themselves in such situation for the first time and yet they fight back and survive together. Even though she's still adjusting to her powers, it was great to see Jennifer using them to protect her family. Then there's Black Lightning finding his way to Thunder and taking down all the men in his way. The visual effects of all the powers are beautifully done. Finally, there's the attack on ASA, when Tobias, Painkiller and Syonide go after Proctor to take over his facility. The entire sequence is intense and wonderfully shot. It ends with Pierce family and Gambi getting out safely when the police arrives at the scene. I absolutely loved the way this moment is edited, and how the music perfectly binds all these stories and shots together. Kudos to entire cast & crew for such excellent work!
Naomi: The Pierce family fighting Proctor's army of agents. This scene was the s**t!! I can't stand the song Timmy Turner by the rapper Desiigner, but it was perfect for this fight. Jeff, Lynn, Anissa, Jennifer plus Gambi fired shots, electricity, and went hand to hand in combat against the ASA agents. Watching Jennifer send an energy blast into one of those men to save her mother has me so excited for next season's superhero battles.
Laura B: Bosch is such an underrated series nicely balancing a gritty noir and a family crime drama. It's taken four seasons though for Bosch to really get somewhere more personally in terms of his mother's murder and it was gratifying to see one of the main storylines directly tie into his quest. This season was also an emotional one, given what happens in episode 4.04, but I chose this scene because of the way it all accumulated back to the tunnels, the juxtaposition of an elegant wealthy past and a gritty underworld tucked into LA's cityscape, as Bosch has move up and down on an angels' flight to finally confront the thing that hurts him most! So glad Amazon already renewed this. Looking forward to where this all goes in season 5!
Justyna: This show continues to be amazing and I absolutely loved this cold open. As much as I enjoyed the entire episodes, this scene was just so genuinely hilarious and wonderfully done that I ended up rewatching it more than anything else from the hour. It was a surprisingly awesome cover of the song, the harmony worked great and Jake quickly got caught up in the performance. "Ah, chills! Literal chills." He was so happy about this short musical moment that he completely forgot why the line-up was there in the first place. I loved him admitting that the second the witness identified the man responsible for her brother's murder. "Oh, my God, I forgot about that part" line was simply perfect. Andy Samberg is such a scene-stealer in these openings. Kudos to cast & crew for their excellent work.
Milo: The Criminals Sing. Jake getting the criminal line-up to sing to "I Want it that Way" by the Backstreet Boys so they could be identified was so perfectly timed and really well done, easily one of the best cold-opens of the show to date made even funnier by the dark twist in subject matter at the end of the song where we were reminded that criminal number five killed the witness' brother, and Jake had been too caught up in getting the criminals to sing to remember an important detail.
Kollin: Cold Opening (Backstreet Boys). Jake Peralta having the lineup sing "I Want It That Way" was the funniest scene of this series, hands down. They were in such beautiful harmony too! The punchline at the end when Jake gets so caught up in the song and says, "oh, my God, I forgot about that part" when the girl identified the killer was the cherry on the top. I died.
Beth: The cold open to BSB. I cannot even describe how hilarious this was to me. I rewound that part more than I'd like to admit.
Dahne: Bull blames himself for his sister's death but Marissa sets him straight. There were several good scenes in this episode including Bull explaining how his sister died at the hands of her husband's abuse and Benny's heart-to-heart about the difficulty of the case, but the best scene was Marissa pulling Bull out of his self-pity rant. The two have such a long history that they know just what to say to each other.
Dahne: After 13 years, I wasn't sure where Criminal Minds would go in this season finale. The cult of serial killers is a great way to jump start interest in the 14th season, especially since they flew under the BAU's radar for so long. Ending with Garcia kidnapped and Spencer given an ultimatum just makes me more excited about next season.
EMPIRE, "Of Hardiness is Mother", April 18, 2018, Actors: Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard
The Scene: Cookie admits she doesn't want things to go back to normal
Luana: Cookie tells Lucious she doesn't want things to go back to normal. We've been waiting for a while for these two to give it a real shot and I'm glad she stood up for herself demanding the respect she deserves.

FOR THE PEOPLE, "Everybody's a Superhero", April 17, 2018, Actors: Susannah Flood, Caitlin Stasey
Luana: Ramon walks towards Mount Hood. I'm not even sure if I understood what was going on but the whole final sequence gave me chills, everything covered in volcanic ash and those creepy shadow-families... my jaw was on the floor, I really hope we get to see where this goes, and it better be crazy.
Claire: Kristen and Navid having to say goodbye. Especially heartbreaking when Kristen says: “you’re my only friend.” So sad because they had only recently found each other. And Navid having to leave with his mother because his father is quite disturbed is also heartwrenching.

JANE THE VIRGIN, "Chapter Eighty-One", April 20, 2018, Actors: Gina Rodriguez and more
The Scene: End sequence
Marine: This show always manages to have the best jaw-dropping finales. This one did not disappoint and in those last few minutes everything was there: emotion, worry, astonishment. It was perfect.
DJRiter: Villanelle has been ordered by her superiors to undergo evaluation before being given another assassination assignment. This amazing scene where the evaluation occurs is an incredible tour de force moment for Comer. She takes her seemingly soulless character, Villanelle through a rapid-fire success of emotions in reaction to the evaluator and her handler, Konstantin’s questions. And she does it all with turn on a dime changes in her mood, through subtle changes in body language, her doe-like eyes, and facial expressions. She never gives away which was her true emotion. Comer continues to make Villanelle a character we shouldn’t like but one that we can’t stop watching.
Samantha: Konstantin confronts Villanelle in her apartment. There were quite a few scenes in this episode that impressed me, but Konstantin confronting Villanelle in her apartment was a standout. The two of them at times have a strangely playful banter, but Konstantin was well and truly pissed to discover that Villanelle had gone behind his back and killed a target when he'd essentially benched her, and him storming into the apartment and throwing her up against the wall is probably the first time we've seen her look remotely fearful.
Laura B: Amahl Farouk talks with David about Villains, Refugees, and his Father. Although I'm on the fence if the viewers can really trust what The Shadow King is telling David, I've been grateful for the juicy exchanges such as these, making Farouk a rather intelligent villain for David to confront. The imagery too has been nothing but stellar and I feel like the story is moving a little faster than last year and really willing to play with all of the former dynamics more.
Samantha: David manages to get through to Melanie. I've long given up trying to understand all the ins and outs of Legion (it's just one of those shows where you're not supposed to understand everything) and this scene was trippy and frustrating as hell, but eventually had something really sweet to it. With the focus on finding and stopping the shadow king & his connection to David, it seems to be a bit lost on everyone that Melanie has lost her husband again. David eventually realizes that the emptiness of Melanie's haven of sorts is actually about wanting to be carefree. David's words do manage to break Melanie free, even if it is just back to putting the game face on.
Laura B: Dr. Smith kidnaps Maureen Robinson and takes her to the Alien ship. Parker Possy deserves so much credit in this remake's re-imaging by making the former clumsy Dr. Smith into a highly intelligent female sociopath! It feels just about as revolutionary, as when Katee Sackoff become the new Starbuck! I chose this scene because the dynamics between these two women are so good, especially now that the cat is out of the bag! I didn't care too much for Robinsons outside of Will, before this episode, but Dr. Smith and Maureen bring out things in each other that seem to not only be pretty fun to watch, but perhaps where the character development is going to come from.

ROSEANNE, "Darlene v. David", April 17, 2018, Actors: Sara Gilbert, Johnny Galecki
The Scene: Darlene tells David they can't be together
Shirleena: Darlene tells David that they can't be together as a couple. Because they would fight, and break their kids hearts again. So the best thing to do is stay friends and focus on raising their kids together.

SIREN, "Curse of the Starving Class", April 19, 2018, Actors: Rena Owen and more
The Scene: Helen reveals she's a mermaid
Samantha: Since the show started there have been hints to indicate that Helen was in fact a mermaid, but that didn't make the reveal any less shocking and I can't wait to see where the show takes this.
DJRiter: Alex and M’yrnn talk at dinner about M’yrnn’s forgetfulness and his illness. It’s a lovely, tender scene that marks the first bonding moments between Alex and J’onn’s father, M’yrnn. Leigh perfectly nails Alex’s concern and compassion as she tries to gently explain to the older Martian she feels he’s ill, only to learn he already knows. Lumbly is masterful as he struggles with admitting the truth to her. They bond over a common goal, protecting someone they both care about, J’onn. Alex can’t hide the truth from the man who has become a father figure to her, and M’yrnn forbids her from saying anything in an attempt to protect his son. It’s an understated but powerful scene and in the capable hands of two of the show’s stronger actors becomes especially poignant. It is brave of Supergirl to tackle a dementia storyline and this was a superb start.
Sean: Opening scene. Kara gives everyone a super serious pep talk about “proving themselves” and doing this “for the people” and then it immediately cuts to everyone doing karaoke night. Such a fun and hilarious swerve and the perfect way to return after that lengthy hiatus. Kara performing Beastie Boys “Intergalactic” and doing the robot dance had me cracking up.
Jaz: Winn tells his mum about the night his father was arrested.
Milo: Sure, it may be a bit convenient to have Holden and his crew be the ones that come across Bobbie's distress signal given how huge space is, but it was a perfectly timed moment that brought the characters together in a really cool way, with the Rocinante using missiles of their own to divert Earth's missiles away from Avasarala & Bobbie's ship. Bobbie is turning into one of my favourite characters on TV at the moment (no surprise considering she's one of my favourite characters from the book), and this was a really good episode for both her and Avasarala.
Kollin: Holden and crew saving Bobbie and Avasarala was a bit convenient, but boy was this scene thrilling. The space battles have always been breathtakingly exciting in the Expanse, and this scene was no exception. It also brought all the main players together, marking quite a moment for this show.
Both ladies fought honorably for the men they love, but Iris shoved a blade in her shoulder for Barry, so I have to say she came out on top. Awesome to see women characters battle it out!
Beth: Rebekah calls Klaus because she knows he is close to Elijah. I loved this scene because Rebekah knew exactly what caused her bath to be ruined and was angry until she heard Elijah's voice. Those two have obviously had the hardest time with him erasing his memory and you could see from both of them that any sliver of Elijah was incredibly painful but incredibly necessary because they miss him.
Kollin: Lucy and Wyatt put a closure on things. There were many memorable moments in 'The Kennedy Curse,' but Lucy telling Wyatt she is fine with him getting back with his wife has to be the icing on the cake. It was so heartbreaking, but bittersweet to see the level of understanding. The chemistry between the two is so on point, and thus, the emotions they were feeling in that moment could truly be felt. It was just such a raw scene. I normally don't like love triangles, but Timeless has been handling it well, and that is in large part thanks to the actors involved.
Claire: Lucy trying to comfort a young JFK about his future role saying: “you were one of the greatest Presidents!” Abigail Spencer and Grant Jordan. Seeing the young JFK trying to grasp what he’s learned of his future was so well written and acted.

"The future's gonna be what the future's gonna be."

So, the season finale is here, and I'm still a little speechless, this is an episode filled with a whole lot of fuck you's and a lot of what the fuck's, there are a lot of mentions of baby Jesus and destiny n one way or another so all I can do is try to make sense of some of this. We pick right up where we left off and things get crazier and crazier, Malcolm hits Ramon for throwing Hailey, and he says the whole family is insane, which I think was a little too much. They take her to the emergency room where they find out she has a hairline fracture, mama Ashley is pissed and wants Ramon to be committed but Kristen and Audrey defend him saying she has always resented her brother and saying Malcolm's the violent one and she kicks them out.

"I am not the enemy."

Farid is feeling the weight of his actions but it seems no one in his family is great at figuring out how to handle it and they're afraid of him. We see a flashback of young Farid where his bipolar mother forces him to punish himself for "killing his father" and then she decides to do it herself but Amir stops her. I have to say I think the acting here should've been better to show the full weight of this. He starts thinking he deserves to be punished and he even uses a zanjeer, a sort of cat o' nine tails.

"Stay here with your God."

Navid and Kristen decide to escape their individual family nightmares but it seems Navid is worried about how fast they're going and how they're following expectations even though no one's pressuring them, but Kristen sees to have her own insecurities and she's kind of a bitch to him. Which they will later agree on when he goes to say goodbye since it seems he and his mother are going to live with his aunt in San Francisco, it's very awkward goodbye. Farid goes to Chuck for help who, while taking care of him, says wanting to know all the answers is a kind of heresy for Islam and reminds him the word itself means surrender, and though that might sound nice it also sounds like the perfect way to keep a people compliant.

On the way to the hospital, Ramon tries to explain he's not crazy but then goes off to hunt a fire figure, though it seems Hailey also smelled the fire. Does this mean she has "porous mind" too? Or are children more perceptive? Anyways, Ramon runs off and Duc decides this is the right time to confront his father about sleeping with an Asian prostitute because it represents his mother to him (I mean, come on, you can be mad about the act, but not all Asian women belong to you, you know?). Greg calls him out on his bullshit, even his celibacy, he tells him he's the one who pretends to be perfect, and it's not working out for him. Then he goes straight to Carmen like a lost puppy and she takes care of him. There's a nice scene where she feels his pain and tells him he has to let go now, and he cries. It as a good scene and I'm pretty sure it would've been amazing for me if I had ever given a fuck about Duc.

"What the fuck have we done?"

Ashley's interview doesn't go as well as she thought when Sharon makes a comment about diversity hiring but she does decide to accept the job offer at Cloth because in spite of telling her over and over again she should do what's best for her, Malcolm remarks how much safer the money would make them. The dealings get interrupted by the big ass emergency, but let's put a pin on that mindboggling stuff.

Audrey's already on edge when she goes to give the interview and then a caller asks about the company's issues with inhumane labor and brings attention to a child labor allegation so Audrey turns on Steve on live Television and then she tells him to go fuck himself and leaves him there stunned. So... I guess she's done with that?

"This is why liberals always loose, anything but utopian is unacceptable"

Greg goes to visit Ike where he learns that when Ramon was a kid Ike dropped him because he was on fire, and he says now he's on fire again, I knew Ike's schizophrenia would be called into question. But then again, he does say he doesn't believe in aliens because they would've contacted him by now since everything else does. Okay.

Ramon's on his way to meet the fire figure and his bike gets stolen by Henry's homeless friend, though it turns out his name is Henry and the man Ramon knows as Henry might not even be real. But that confusion aside, Ramon continues his journey towards the mountain and at 11 11 Mount Hood erupts and the ground shakes. We see the news say there have been casualties and injured and the air is not considered safe for breathing. He continues to recklessly walk towards Mount Hood and there's a very weird moment where we see people's shadows behind him. Well, there are a lot of very weird moments.

So, I guess that's that. Is this the beginning of the apocalypse? I find it somewhat exciting if they're going to go full-on apocalypse next season, and yes, a second season is not a sure thing, but it's Allan Ball, I'm pretty sure HBO will give him at least one more shot. I don't really know how to feel, I think there was something missing about the weight necessary for an episode like this, it was too much of a mixture between the day to day stuff and the full-on crazy shit. I did not like the route Farid took and I did not like how Kristen and Navid's relationship felt ruined, but those last few minutes were impressive, I mean, it feels apocalyptic, the beginning of the end, and I would really like for them to take a leap and go all in, I think something very cool and very original could come of it.

"What does it all mean?"

What did you think of the finale? Are you intrigues by what come's next if there's another season? I look forward to your comments.

"I will not bring a kid into a world this fucked up."

Yes

Ramon continues to struggle with his visions and is not successful in convincing his mother they are actually real. No one knows how to help him so he decides he needs some space, but he asks Duc to go with him to a quiet spot where he can think and they feel an earthquake. Knowing this show, I'm sure there's a meaning to this, but I don't think I got it.

Farid continues down his rabbit hole, he's even dreaming with Ramon. Later he has an outburst when Layla is asked to take off her scarf at a restaurant, a restaurant that is run by people who actually share their faith but it seems they've been victim to violence over it, so both sides are understandable, but Farid goes overboard screaming and even getting physical with his wife. Fueled by a dream Farid goes to the store where him and his uncle Amir used to live to buy groceries and a woman gives him a box of stuff they'd left behind, among those things there's a phone and a tape that has a message from his mother, this was a touching scene and Peter Macdissi killed it, you could eve see his knees get weak.

Greg and Audrey continue to have this passive aggressive fights, he things thinks she's being too self-righteous because she can't forgive him and she's not willing to budge in any way and goes all the way with Steve. Greg decides to take the night to cook for Ashley and Kristen and they have one of those existential debates that make me love this show so much. Even discussing whether or not Ashley and Kristen should wash the dishes because he cooked he says there are way too many transactions in relationships, that it doesn't have to be this for that, something can just be a gift, and they also talk about current affairs and how the girls feel apocalyptic about the moment in time they have to live in, but he tells them humanity has faced that feeling over and over again many times.

"Safety has always been an illusion."

A point he proves when he wakes up his class by pointing a gun to his head to make an existential point. At first, he defends his actions but given the current climate he later understands it wasn't his best idea, and they decide to put him on a six-month leave of absence. Luckily he decides to take it as a gift to find himself again. Speaking of finding yourself, Kristen and Navid enact their revenge by using water guns with Silver Nitrate on Madison and her possy wearing a horse and a chicken mask, this scene was really fun, and then they celebrated by kissing, they're just too cute.

Ashley continues to get closer to the idea of carrying a weapon and I have to say I'm very uncomfortable with them taking her story there, I feel it can't end well. She even goes to the gun range and it appears she has a lot of pent-up rage and great aim. There also a very odd moment when she's called a race-traitor by a white man because she stands up to him for putting a "black lives matter" sign on her door without her consent. The good thing here is we meet Michaela Conlin (Bones' Angela), she plays Sharon Chen, a businesswoman who will later offer to buy Ashley's company at a very enticing price, though it means Ashley won't be the boss anymore and won't get to do things her way.

Ramon goes to see Carmen and we learn he might have had a near-death experience in the past even though he doesn't remember it. Duc gets territorial about Ramon seeing Carmen, which is ridiculous. Honestly, Duc being awkward with Carmen is not even cute anymore, it's just annoying. He invites her to a hike but he's denying his stress and he gets sick in the middle of it. He ends up running and hurting himself and he's so embarrassed he acts like a child. I can't convey enough how bored I am with Duc, I need them to find something actually useful for him to do, and not this Carmen thing because, even though I enjoy how she handles him, he doesn't seem to be getting any better, or interesting.

Dream Logic

We find out Ramon's appearance at the expo didn't go as bad as he thought since he gets a call from someone who left before his vision. He gets offered a job to start slow but with the possibility of designing levels for different games later on, though his own game is only a possibility in the distant future. But our other character headed down the rabbit hole, Farid, doesn't seem to be getting better, he gets Layla to listen to the message and translate, since she's better at speaking Farsi than he is, and then he confronts his uncle. Amir insults his mother and Farid loses it once more. The relationship is a complex one, it's his mother, so there's nostalgia there, but she was also abusive and a fanatic who told him at nine years old he might have been responsible for his father's death, and Ramon seems to have stirred all this feeling up.

Duc's book reading gets overshadowed by his father's work but he takes the opportunity to distance himself from that and give it his own spin. Speaking of which, Greg is still as lost as ever but no one knows what to do about it, he even shows up to get on Steve's face and then leaves just like that. There Audrey finds out there have been many worker suicides related to Steve's company, he says he can fix it like he suddenly can make inhumane labor disappear, but nor Audrey nor we, are sold. Later, Audrey goes home and has an honest talk with Greg, he says he wants to fight for her, and that sleeping with their old friend means she doesn't get the moral high ground anymore. Then he tells her he was investigating and it looks like Ramon's adoption agency never existed but he found their caseworker Beverly's address. When they go to her, she acts sketchy as fuck, and they learn Ramon was stolen.

"Bullshit, I fight for what I believe in."

Navid a Kristen take their relationship to the next level and I have to say, even though I love them and they're super cute, I feel it's like two best friends having sex, not a lot of sexual chemistry. When she's about to go home she crosses paths with Farid who's very creepy and starts telling her how Ramon sees beyond the veil and might not be able to return. Okay. The next day they show up at school, where they were investigating what happened with Madison and her posy but not the swastika, they walk through the halls hand in hand, Navid with his makeup and both wearing hijabs. They think they pulled it off but then the racist kids including Madison go up to them wearing masks and beat them up, Navid, of course, gets the worst of it.

"Maybe you're boxless, we can be boxless together."

Then they go to Kristen's house and decide to ignore what happened and go through with the Alterna-mitzva, she listens to all the nice things her family has to say and then talks herself, she says she never felt she had an identity so she tried different ones, like game, but after getting beat up with Navid because of his real identity, one he can't take off, she realizes how hard it must have been for her siblings, it was a sweet scene, if very Kristen. Then, Farid picks up Navid and he's angry, on the way home he says he shouldn't see Kristen anymore, that a girl who thinks Judaism is something you buy at a store is a bad influence, and so white. They're arguing in the car and suddenly Farid sees Ramon's mom in the street and halts to a stop in the middle of the street, which means his behavior is straight up dangerous now.

Speaking of dangerous, back at the house Ramon plays with Hailey while Ashley and Malcolm argue. Ashley is insecure about how much time she spends with her daughter and how this affects their relationship, and she hadn't told Malcolm about her job offer because she felt he wouldn't let her think there was a choice but to take it, and when he found out, a lot of insecurities and older resentments popped up. But their argument is interrupted by Hailey screaming and they look through the window to see how Ramon, thinking the tree house they were playing on is on fire, throws her off of it (cover mouth with hand).

"Is it over yet?"

Justyna: It was the best episode of the show in a while and there's a number of scenes I would love to highlight from the hour. Between all the hallucinations (the return of Adrian Chase!) and Oliver's internal struggle, I really liked the fact that Quentin was his constant. They've been through so much and I'm glad they're in a place where Lance supports Oliver when he needs it the most. Their conversation about how much Oliver has grown over the course of the past few years was beautifully done, as was every other moment these two shared. But it's the end of Queen's journey during the hour that I ended up choosing for the article. It felt almost like he became his own villain of the episode and he was definitely losing control when going after Diaz and attacking Lance. I really enjoyed seeing Felicity's run through the city and then entering the horror-like scene just to find Oliver at the brink of getting himself killed. Her speech to him, even when interrupted by Adrian, was a lovely proof of how much these two have grown together and how well they truly work. Despite Adrian's voice in his head and not being able to recognize what's real, Oliver finally hears his wife and they get out safely from the building before Diaz's men can get to them. All the actors did a great job in the episode, but a special shout-out to Stephen Amell. This episode was almost entirely focused on Oliver and it was wonderfully done. Kudos!
Justyna: It's been a fantastic season and I'm so glad I was able to follow it from the start. Despite being "just" another superhero story, the family aspect of it makes it feel special and often relatable. At the heart of the show, there's really this family who loves and protects each other. And together they seem almost unstoppable. When the fight breaks down at the school, Jefferson and both of his daughters are caught in the middle. At one point, Black Lightning's hesitation to hurt Khalil costs him his life. As the voices of his family members echo in his mind, he collapses to the floor and his heart stops beating. It's a shocking moment that takes a very emotional turn when Thunder shows up to save him and then both her and Jennifer realize their dad is dead. It was heartbreaking to see their reactions. But it's exactly what Jennifer needed to use her powers and jump-start her father's heart. The relief and joy on the girls' faces when he returns to life is beautifully portrayed by both actresses. Special shout-out to China Anne McClain who is at the center of the scene. I love the relationship between Jefferson and Jennifer, so it felt right that this is the moment when Jennifer truly sees the value of her powers. Kudos to cast & crew! Can't wait for the finale.
Jamie: Jennifer saves her dad. I can't wait to see Jennifer embrace her powers. Really love the family dynamics in this show.

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, "The Puzzle Master", April 8, 2018, Actors: Andre Braugher, Chelsea Peretti and more, The Scene: Holt's speech
Laura: Holt refuses to campaign for Commissioner while he knows that they refused to hire a woman.

CHICAGO FIRE, "When They See Us Coming", April 12, 2018, Actors: Taylor Kinney, Treat Williams, The Scene: Kelly and Benny argue
Beth: Kelly Severide is not known to show much in the emotions department, you know it is there but he keeps it hidden. In this scene, he had finally had enough of Benny and his ways and let him have it in a brutally honest and emotionally charged way. Taylor Kinney was great at bringing the obvious pain to a very stoic character. The subtle tears in his eyes as he told his father what a mess he made out of their family and why he can't do this again to his mom really got my feels going.

GREY'S ANATOMY, "Beautiful Dreamer", April 12, 2018, Actors: Ellen Pompeo, Jeanine Mason
The Scene: Meredith tells Bello she got a job in Zürich
Marko: Mer's fight for Bello throughout the episode was really beautiful. I loved every bit of it and I'm glad she got through for her. The happiness on Bello's face was unmeasurable. Also loved mentioning Christina, just sad DeLuca didn't leave as well.

HERE AND NOW, "Dream Logic", April 8, 2018, Actors: Marwan Salama, Sosie Bacon
The Scene: Navid and Kristen's walk through their school’s hallways
Claire: Navid and Kristen take the very brave choice to walk through their school’s hallways both wearing hijabs and holding hands and smiling. There was no dialogue, only background music. It was beautiful. Navid is gender fluid and his parents had warned him about wearing a hijab in public.
Samantha: This episode was a bit different from the norm since it had no case of the week, and not being tied down by that allowed the show to explore different storylines to what it's used to and give the actors some meaty material to sink their teeth into. Rahul was absolutely excellent as Ravi struggled with a heroin addiction after eating an addict's brain. He absolutely detests Blaine and yet here he is in his office, desperate for a fix. Even when Peyton shows up and offers him a brain bar because she can see how much he's suffering, Ravi refuses to take it until he can have that vision to tell them where the dog is. And of course when Peyton offers to take him home, he still wants his heroin fix.
DJRiter: First meeting between Villanelle and Eve in hospital bathroom. In the only scene the stars of this gripping thriller have together in the premiere Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh are fabulous. The scene couldn’t be simpler, two women standing in front of a mirror in a hospital bathroom, see each other for the first time and acknowledge one another. The chemistry between these two actresses jumps off the screen in a taught scene with just two lines of dialogue, “Are you alright?” and “Wear it down”. That scene and their electrifying chemistry near the end of the premiere of this great new series just sets the stage for future encounters between Eve and Villanelle, in what promises to be a complex game of cat and mouse.
Sean: Villanelle kills her target in Tuscany. It was fascinating to see a skilled assassin at work. Climbing a drain pipe, folding herself into a suitcase, blending into the party and using the man’s grandson to lure him upstairs, and then stabbing him in the eye with a hairpin. This show is already very addicting and I can't wait to see the cat and mouse game play out over the coming weeks.

KRYPTON, "The Word of Rao", April 11, 2018, Actor: Cameron Cuffe
The Scene: Seg escapes Black Zero
Milo: I was reminded of The Dark Knight Rises in this scene where Seg climbs up into the Outlands to escape captivity. It was an effective ending scene to one of the show's more exciting episodes so far.

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, "The Good, the Bad, and the Cuddly", April 9, 2018, Actors: Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh and more, The Scenes: Rip's sacrifice & Beebo vs Mallus
Justyna: While the fight is clearly the most insane and entertaining part of the episode, it's all the sacrifices that hit me the most. So for my choice, I wanted to highlight the start of the hour with Rip's death. It took me completely by surprise, especially considering the placement in the episode, but it turned emotional with all the flashbacks to his time on the show. His goodbyes to Gideon and to Sara were beautifully done yet somehow didn't seem like enough. For me, Rip was the first reason why I decided to watch the series and I wish there was more done with his character after everything he's been through with the Legends. After all, he's the one who brought them together. In the end, he chooses to sacrifice his life to help his friends escape and give them time to find a way to defeat Mallus. He truly believes in them, despite all their differences and becomes a motivation for them to fight later in the episode. The scene was sudden but really well done. I loved the addition of the flashbacks and Rip admitting that "I should very much like to see my wife and son again." After all this time. Great music and wonderful performance. Goodbye, Captain Rip Hunter.
Samantha: Beebo & Mallus fight. I absolutely love Beebo. He is one of the greatest gifts Legends of Tomorrow has given us, and this fight scene was superb in how ridiculous it was. Beebo manages to do what the Legends have failed all season in doing, and it was a spectacular battle scene. Jax and the others cheering the Legends on and then Ava offering words of encouragement as Mallus looked to get the upper hand. Beebo saying he wanted cuddles, jumping down onto Mallus, getting into his fight pose. It was all just brilliant & I really hope the budget can allow for him to show up in s4.
Zandarl: Not since the Ghostbusters conjured up the stay puff marshmallow man have we seen such a ridiculous idea to defeat evil. It was hilarious and shows Legends never takes itself too seriously.
Marko: As Donna and Sam said it was utterly crazy and seemed stupid as hell but worked perfectly well. Outstanding CGI, think they crashed all the budget for s4.
Diana: One of the reasons why LOT is the best DC series right now.
Jamie: Beebo vs Mallus. I'm still laughing whenever I think about it. Only this show could make something like that work.

LOST IN SPACE, "Impact", April 13, 2018, Actors: Molly Parker, Toby Stephens, Taylor Russell and more, The Scene: The opening spaceship crash
Milo: This was an exciting way to start the series, taking advantage of the special effects budget that the show had to offer to make an almost-cinematic opening that pulled me right in from the get go.

NEW GIRL, "About Three Years Later", April 10, 2018, Actors: Jake Johnson, Rob Reiner
The Scene: Nick tells Jess' dad he'll propose a different time (picked by Marko)
Diana: I've chosen this particular scene because for me it underlines the importance of female friendship. If you think at the beginning of Scandal, those two were enemies: the wife and the mistress. As the series went on, they found many things in common. They put themselves before the man they've loved (Fitz Grant). Both Mellie and Olivia are tough women, they understood they need to support each other because that's their force. And I think that's kinda poetic and beautiful.

SCHITT'S CREEK, "Singles Week", April 10, 2018, Actors: Dan Levy, Dustin Milligan, The Scene: David talks to Ted about Alexis
Beth: In a lot of ways this was the scene that made the episode perfect for me. David in season one would probably have never taken the time to sit down and be there for someone like that. It just made it even more special that his advice happened to be to the guy his sister loves. Ted was hurt deeply by Alexis and I like that they didn't have him rush right back to her, they took their time and really showed she appreciated who Ted is and what he means to her, like David said so perfectly. David and Ted had never really spent meaningful screen time together, so it was a great piece of writing for them to have one of the most crucial scenes in the episode.
Laura: David tells Ted that Alexis really loves him.

SILICON VALLEY, "Chief Operating Officer", April 8, 2018, Actors: Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods
The Scene: Richard appoints Jared as COO
Milo: Jared is probably the best character on the show at the moment and his overreaction to being appointed as COO was fantastic. Zach Woods has been acing it week after week so it was great to see his character get the promotion that he deserved.

Jimmy: Harvey calls it quits with Paula to keep Donna at the firm. This episode was one of the season’s best ones, and while I loved seeing Harvey and Paula together, Harvey couldn’t let Donna leave in good conscience after all she has done for him. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the relationship between Harvey and Donna continues to develop.
Samantha: Beverly has a go at Murray for not believing in her. Most of my thoughts I already said in my review, but this was an absolutely beautiful and excellent acting from Wendi & Jeff. You could see the pain in her eyes as Beverly was pleading for Murray to follow the kids lead in apologizing to her, and the fact that he just didn't understand why it was she was so annoyed with him was heartbreaking and made even worse when Murray realized just how badly he'd made Beverly feel. It was also an extremely needed home truth because Murray tends to think that because everyone knows he's not an emotional person, that excuses him from having to ever admit when he's in the wrong and that's obviously not the case.
Claire: Pops consoles Adam that Emmy will always be his best friend even if they go for long periods of time without talking; that they’ll always pick up right where they left off. I have a friend like this, Patti. Pops’ loving wisdom is beautiful.

TIMELESS, "The Salem Witch Hunt", April 8, 2018, Actors: Matt Lanter, Tonya Glanz
The Scene: Wyatt tells Jessica about the night she died
Bex: In the gritty bunker bathroom, Matt Lanter delivers as emotionally raw scene as Wyatt recalls the night he left Jessica on the side of the road, and then begs her for one last chance.

YOUNG SHELDON, "A Mother, A Child, and a Blue Man's Backside", April 12, 2018, Actors: Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, The Scene: Sheldon hugs his mom after the tornado
Claire: Sheldon is trying to break away from his mother but after a terrifying tornado hits, Sheldon hugs his mom and doesn’t let go. So sweet.

"Death suks"

Fight, Death

Farid wakes up speaking Spanish "Siempre te comiste todas las mariposas" (You always eat all the butterflies), after a dream where both his consciousness and Ramon's seemed to be connected, they seem to be pointing at something called Uncanny Communication and the Porous Mind, something that joins Ramon and Farid's minds (and maybe other people too), which is what we see in that opening dream sequence, their stories, their mothers even their languages get mixed up. Layla seems to be sick of his latest behavior but she tries to ignore it and sends him to buy groceries for his uncle Amir, who seems to have been a nightmare growing up but is also the one who took him out of Iran during the revolution. Amir is moody and angry, he insults Farid's mom, and then he tells him he always ate all the bowties, which is a different name for the same pastry (butterflies). After this, Farid seems to be more open, even a little bit too much, to the idea of this unknown and he starts to unravel, which is something very dangerous as it has been implied he takes medication, though it's not clear why he's medicated exactly, it is clearly related to this kind of behavior.

"There's something connecting us that's way stranger and deeper than anything we can possibly imagine."

Duc seems to be conflicted with the "just friends" thing with Carmen, he "happens" to run her place only to deny her invitation in, I don't know how much I care about this but it's fun to see someone throw him off his game so much. Greg is sleeping in his office, which gives him a chance to bond even more with Michael. After he gives him the draft for Duc's book, Greg invites him to join in the gym appointment Duc gave him as a gift. He tells him he read his manuscript and that he's more like his dad than he thinks. Then the conversation gets serious and Duc realizes his father is more open with Michael that he is with him when he tells them they found his dead brother, Archie, close to where they found Duc. Later the episode ends with Michael calling Greg to tell him the good news that he's engaged and then someone opens their car door and he runs through it with his bike, which was a shocker and felt a little out of place.

Ashley keeps struggling with this new feeling of unrest, she even starts a Krav Maga class that's shown as a bit of an aggressive take on self-defense. There she meets Denise, an ex-marine, and a loaded one, which seems to point to a maybe dangerous direction for Ashley's feeling. To make matters worse she sees the video of her mom defending the racist kids at Kristen's school and she can't seem to shake how personal it feels for her. She even confronts her mom about it, she tells her she didn't need to be reminded constantly that she was different, her skin wouldn't let her forget, and that she can't presume to help without fully understanding.

"You can't be kind to dangerous people, it hurts me, it hurts people like me"

Later, she goes to pick up Hailey, and she tells her a little girl called her poopy because she's brown, so Ashley confronts her mother, Babette Gibson, the mother immediately defends her daughter Chloe and says she would never say something like that, she dismisses it right out the bat, and she even says that Hailey called Chloe a carrot-head before and she didn't complain. This, of course, upsets Ashley but she finds herself not knowing what to say. Later that night, Malcolm confronts her, it appears Babette called him about it and he takes her side over Ashley's, which pisses her off even more.

Ramon and Kristen get together for coffee and she shows him the video of Henry, he goes off on her, maybe overreacting a little bit, but then he goes to confront Henry at his workplace (which was very disrespectful) and says he realizes Henry's homeless and he thinks he was just using him to have a place to stay. After that, he goes to his parents' home for a pick me up, since no one's home he decides to look at his old paintings from when he was a kid and finds not only a lot of butterflies but also a woman with scratches on her face, and drawings that look a lot like the avatars of his game, but he seems to be trying to ignore it all.

When Audrey gets home she tells Greg to go home to pretend they're okay and they both try to be there for Ramon. As they chat it seems Ramon is second-guessing his own behavior, he realizes he was unfair and handled it all wrong, but both parents are giving him advice from very different paces because of the current state of their own relationship, she's unforgiving and he says if he loves the guy maybe he should give him a chance to explain himself. Ramon is still confused when he decides to go to bed, and Greg and Audrey start going at it, which is when Duc shows up to thank his father and listens to the whole thing.

"If you can't trust him, honey, he's not worth your love"

I have to say I love Kristen and Navid's relationship, they're so cute, she says she thinks about killing people often and invites herself to his Friday noon prayer. He's not convinced but then he agrees and of course, has to make her change into something more conservative, and though she is annoyed by the sexism of it all, something in the spirituality seems to connect with her and she starts diving in at home as well. I find this story very interesting because it gives us a chance to get to know more about the religion and Kristen's lack of filter helps us learn things we might never dare to ask, and I mean about Navid's sexuality a much as his religion.

Wake

On the previous episode Raon was avoiding his sessions with Farid and it seems the psychiatrist's concern is not so much for Ramon's sake but for his own search for answers, he tries to pry it out of him without seeming too suspicious but he's not getting anything so far. While trying to get to the bottom of the significance in the details of Ramon's game he makes him realize things he hadn't before about his own creation which inspires him to make some changes before the Portland Expo and cuts the hour short, but the positive thing is he began the session thinking about quitting and he leaves excited.

"They're ashamed that we can see their wounds, but they all have them"

Greg goes to Michael's funeral and talks to Emma, his would be fiance, and learns Michael was a completely different person at home, she says he was a rageaholic and she's actually relieved she doesn't have to marry him now. Later Audrey asks him to go to Ramon's expo and this gives him some nice bonding time with his son, it seems he's one of the few people there who actually gets what his game is about. But then Ramon has another very public episode and they take him home, they call Farid but he has the worst timing and instead of helping Ramon, who's sick of these episodes interrupting his life, he decides to come clean to Ramon about his scars and his dreams. Ramon is not in the mood for that at that moment and says he doesn't want to see him anymore, which is totally understandable because Farid really crossed a line, and he can't pretend to continue being his shrink after that, the relationship for therapy is no longer viable, he should've planned for it, suggested a referral, and then IF Ramon wanted they could start discussing the existential crisis they're both having.

"When did war become entertainment?"

Audrey is starting a whole new project with Steve Benjamin and he pushes her to think big, he proposes they design a pilot program for the entire state to be later instated throughout the country, and then he immediately gives her an office. Now that they're working so closely together they flirt constantly and eventually they even go for a drink and sparks fly, but when things are about to get too real Audrey learns Greg has been trying to contact her because of Ramon's "episode" and leaves immediately, but we know that won't end there.

The drama at Kristin's school doesn't seem to be winding down anytime soon, there are just too many assholes there, Maddison and a couple of girls were spray painting Nazi crosses on lockers (one of them Navid's) and when she caught them they threw her the can and took a picture to frame her for it. Later, while Navid is putting some makeup on her and they discuss femininity, with some major sparks, she sees the photo published framing her as a white nationalist so they decide to do something about it.

"Don't take the high road"

There's not a lot of Ashley here but she seems to be soul-searching and trying to let Malcolm in, she tells him she feels off balance, which is a recurring theme in pretty much every one of the characters so far, Malcolm doesn't understand why she's suddenly more aware, and less inclined to let things go, and she doesn't really know why that is, their assumption is that it might be related to what's happening to the world politically. She's not really convinced, but maybe it does make sense on a personal level too, maybe things change because we were under this illusion that things were getting better, slowly, but incessantly, and it kept us complacent, but maybe after it's proven that was never the case, we're just not willing to take the bullshit anymore.

"Let's fucking say something!"

We begin once again in Farid's office with Ramon freaking out about his latest hallucination. In his altered state he goes into detail about how his visions were similar with his mom and Farid's and for the first time, Farid hears about his mother scratching her face, four gashes, 11 11, just like he himself remembered her doing. It might be just a little detail but I have to say I'm disappointed in Ramon calling Farid Fred after teasing him about his racist patients calling him that, maybe it was purposeful, I know the writers don't usually leave things to chance, but I haven't seen a good reason yet. Ramon is desperate and begging for meds so eventually, Farid prescribes him something to calm him down. The parents are waiting outside and they go in when they hear shouting, Farid is tired of them, especially Audrey, interfering with his treatment and he says so, so they leave in uncertain terms.

And the session leaves Farid reeling about the overwhelming amount of "coincidences" as Layla insists on calling them. Their marriage seems to be in constant danger, with his issue with her religion, which goes as far as disrespecting her fasting for Ramadan, and wit her ignoring his concerns about how he sees Ramon's case. Later, Farid decides to finally play Ramon's game and after a while of trying to figure it out, though he seems fascinated, he gets to the avatars that have the same scars as him, and this is, of course, a little too much for him to handle, so I wonder what he'll do next.

Henry suddenly comes back after being AMA for two days, and though he feels bad for not being there in Ramon's time of need, he lashes out and says he's not used to people caring where he's at, and he doesn't go the nicest way about it but he tells Ramon that a friend was about to relapse and he just had to go to him but he forgot his phone. Thankfully they hug it out and everything seems fine though clearly some issues are bound to bubble up in the future. His reasoning does make sense but I'm sure there's more to the story here. Later, he apologizes to Ramon and says he should've been there for him, but then Ramon tells him he loves him and though he tells Henry he doesn't have to say it back the look on Henry's face is far from okay.

Duc visits Ramon and their different living styles clash, Duc says maybe he'd feel better if he was more organized, but the mess is probably indicative, not causative. Later, Carmen and Duc meet up and he tells her straight away he's celibate, to avoid any awkward moments, and she says she's not interested in dating either because she just got out of a bad relationship, at least they feel the same way about relationships even if they're coming at it from different places. And though this "friendship" could be interesting I just can't seem to give a damn about Duc's storyline, I hope it gets more interesting soon.

Navid and Kristen are doing the Portland video, and there is a couple I love to watch, they are so different and yet both so open to each other's points of view, it's actually refreshing, and they are hilarious. Navid tells her how fasting for Ramadan makes him empathize with people who have nothing to eat, how it makes him appreciate what he does have and to avoid temptation. And she explains why she likes gay porn, so much they could teach each other (sigh). At first, they're going about doing the video in a very typical way, but Kristen, in particular, is not into it so they decide to spice it up, and I'm curious to see where this takes them, though their homework is derailed when she seems Henry walk by. They follow him to the tent of a homeless man where he stays for two hours, she films them getting out but it's unclear what she'll do with this footage.

A teacher at Hailey's school, who's all sunshine introduces Ashley and Hailey to the new black mom and child in school, Jamila, and little Baldwin. And though Jamila is very nice, Ashley feels uncomfortable being boxed in. After that, she meets with her dad for lunch, they have some nice quality time and it was pure gold, she confesses she feels like she has everything she's ever wanted and yet something's missing, and he says he can relate. But it's different for her she feels like the fact that she grew around white privilege made race a bigger issue than it was (though maybe it just made her more aware). She says he could never understand, she tells him about what happened with the cop and when he suggests she should report the cop, she laughs and says that's the perfect example of the different worlds they live in. Jerrika Hinton was amazing here, and her reaction was so on point and heartbreaking as it was funny.

That night Ashley and Malcolm have dinner with the Williams', Jamila and her husband, Corey, and Ashley struggles to show who she is without being too self-aware, she talks about how fashion is important as it's indicative of social status, of the historic period, but no one seems to care. It looks like she's been judged about how black she is constantly, even Malcolm expects her to be some sort of "expert". Jamila talks about how Portland was founded as a white Utopia since it was illegal for black people to even step on it until 1926. But when she learns Ashley's parents are white she says that makes sense, which really pisses Ashley off. The thing is she keeps surrounding herself with white people, and even though it makes sense given the environment she grew up in, she can't really get upset when they don't fully understand her point of view.

Audrey's day starts off terribly when she's decided to get a family therapist and finds Famiko's page on Gregory's laptop (the fact that he didn't use private navigation is beyond me), she finds the messages between them, so yeah, there's no denying it now, and she finds out where the cock sling came from. She's clearly stunned but she decides to push it aside for the day, and ignore Greg. She goes running with Duc, complains about Henry, seems she's suddenly not his biggest fan and she even blames him for being around when Ramon started hallucinating.

Later, she goes to see Steve Benjamin, who always had a crush on her, and now that she knows about Famiko and he's recently divorced... nothing happens yet, but they talk about the good old times and have an interesting debate on young revolutionaries. He thinks they only do it because it's trendy and she says they're one of the most connected generations and they use it to fight in different planes as well. She says the kids need to be taught to fight differently than them, not with hate and violence, this gets Steve's interest piqued and he says she should present a project to his board to get funding.

Greg continues with his crisis of faith and is especially disillusioned about the stupid stuff that is discussed at faculty meetings, they're almost all old white men and he even calls them out on it, he says they should be trying to change the way they teach philosophy, to engage people in a direct way. He reminds them the founders of philosophy were not hiding in ivory towers, they were men of action fighting for what they believed in. Of course, their reaction is to ask if he's drunk and tell him things that might have been charming in his twenties are not anymore. Greg comes home talking going to Antartica but he has no idea what he's walking into. Audrey confronts him about Famiko, with printed pages of their messages and shows him one where he said he hadn't wanted someone in a long time, and there he knows he's screwed. Then Kristen hears her mom kick her dad out with a heartbroken look on her face.

I for one am loving this show, the acting, the writing, the directing, everything is just perfect and some scenes I would just watch over and over. I wish it got a bigger audience, since it totally deserves it, but by now I have learned to accept that some gems, like The Leftovers, will never get the love they deserve. This episode too was filled with great lines, so I thought I would write some of the best here:

"I'm not anything."

"The world is not ours anymore."

"Babe, we talked about this, Emoji is not a language."

"What's in front of us is awful, there has to be something better."

"I can only dissect the concept of shame into a thousand subconcepts until we don't even know what we're talking about anymore."

What did you think of the episode? How are you liking the show so far? I look forward to your comments.

"Marriage is like a rowboat. Sometimes you’re in it together, sometimes one of you falls out, sometimes she helps you back in, sometimes she smacks you in the head with the oar, sometimes you row together but one of you rows so hard that you wind up just going around in circles."

If A Deer Sh*ts In The Woods

Hi, there, still catching up here, so let's get to it to get ready for the next episode tonight. We learn Ramon seems to have brought up a lot of ugly memories for Farid who has hellish scars on his back, and we'll see in the next episode the avatars on Ramon's new video game have the same scars (so, yea, we continues with the creepy stuff), he has the idea to analyze Ramon's video game to see if he can understand better his state of mind, so I wonder what will happen when he sees this. Anyways, to take the edge off he ends up buying pot and smoking with a homeless lady, no clue what the significance of that could be.

Malcolm is angry that Duc he didn’t tell him what Ashley was doing with Randy, which is an unfair position to put him in, but the fight doesn't last long. Malcolm and Ashley host a dinner to get to know Henry better and takes the chance to set Duc up with Carmen who's an intuitive (some fancy word for psychic?). Anyways, she seems to throw Duc off his game which is nice to see for once, since it is established almost all the Boatwrights are control freaks. Carmen reads Duc in five seconds and there is a lot of shade thrown his way, and his family eats this up. In the end, they exchange business cards and a hug which Duc really seems to need.

Kristen tries to talk to Randy about the chlamydia and we learn he's more of an asshole than we thought, thankfully he's not interested in her anymore. Later, at work, Ashley sends everyone home for a photo shoot with just Randy, and though he thinks it’s good luck for him, she gets him to admit on camera he’s guilty of statutory rape and says it’ll go viral if he ever goes near her sister again.

Greg continues his search by getting lost in the woods (where yes he sees a deer) and continues to let his identity crisis affect everything he has so carefully built. He’s at war with his own philosophy, he's confused about what to do with that at first, but then he realizes that now that truth and facts are no longer a thing, nothing can be the same, his whole life takes on new meaning.

Audrey finds herself in a complicated situation on her own when they find a black dummy hanging from a tree with a sign that says "I feel dead", mocking her I feel suggestions. So she, as director of the Empathy Initiative comes out to make a statement on TV where she says the kids shouldn’t be prosecuted because they're impressionable and the hate that’s attacking them everywhere is unavoidable. Then the principal informs her she's fired.

When both Audrey and Greg get home they take comfort in each other, they spend some alone time and connect for the first time in a while. After that, he uses his computer to send a message and ends things with Famiko, when he looks up, he realizes the feather drawings over their bed could easily look like 11 11.

Hide And Seek

The next morning Audrey tells Greg everything that happened to her and they strategize about what to do about her job. She decides maybe it’s time to quit because she feels like she’s disappointed in herself, Greg says she shouldn’t and proposes they take a trip together. There are also some other ideas they discuss like asking a friend, Steve Benjamin, for capital to finance the Empathy Initiative, or maybe a kick starter. At Greg's work, we see a little bit more of his relationship with Michael, and I'm still convinced there's something else there. Duc shows up to ask his father to write the foreword for his book and Greg accepts but once Duc leaves Greg admits he just can’t relate to his son’s philosophy, so Michael offers to read it and help him analyze it.

Farid and Layla's faith debate doesn't seem to be getting any better, and though he wants to make an effort he agrees to have dinner with a guy from her congregation, Chuck, but it doesn't go so well. They inevitably end up talking about religion but Farid is not okay with a lot of aspects about it, one of them being the celebration of Ashura, which is probably how he got his scars. For those of you who don’t know (and correct me if I misunderstood because as of five minutes ago I didn't either), Ashura is the celebration of the tenth day of the Islamic calendar, not everyone celebrates the same way and it was banned in many places, but some still march to the temple while hurting themselves, making a blood sacrifice of sorts. This is clearly where Farid got his scars even though he was very young.

Chuck tries to defend the religion but Farid is not willing to be told about Islam by a white man that has not lived through what he has lived through (the Iranian revolution). He says religion is a convenient tool for oppressors to manipulate weak minds and it destroys families, lives, countries. Chuck says that those are fanatics, but why would it generate so many fanatics? There has to be some correlation there. When they leave Layla is disappointed, she felt dishonored and she didn’t want him to disrespect a man she idolizes. Farid blames her for sharing his trauma with someone who's a stranger to him and she retorts saying Navid looks up to Chuck more than him because he doesn’t let anyone in.

Speaking of Navid, he and Kristen get paired together at school for a project that consists of making a video about Portland, about why it is so important to them, but she's too busy crushing on Robb, the typical popular douche bag, so she ignores him at first, but it seems the bitchier she gets the more he likes her. The thing with Robb ends quickly though when at a party he behaves like a typical teenage asshole, thankfully she won't have any of it and tells him to go fuck himself. The next day she goes to Navid's a house and is received by the real Navind who identifies as genderfluid. Of course, she's thrilled about this and wants to know everything about it, which leads to a very interesting talk we rarely get to see, and that is Muslims as people, with feelings and ideas, explaining themselves and their religion with someone who's curious and not hateful, and this is what makes all of Kristen's annoying little habits worthwhile.

Malcolm (who we learn is a bit of a shopaholic) and Ashley realize no one is coming to Hailey's fourth birthday party, though it feels a little too coincidental that NO ONE can make it. But they decide to do a picnic at Forest Park. “My mother will make them all come”. By the way, Audrey makes a snarky remark to Ashley when she visits her at work saying she envies her because she chose the easy route instead of trying to make the world a better place (typical passive-aggressive mom comment).

Henry and Ramon seemed to continue to evolve in their relationship, they seem to have a difference of opinion about technology and then Henry just slips out in the middle of the night, leaving his phone behind. Ramon's insecurities tell him he left because he shared too much, but truly it makes no sense to leave stuff behind like that, I feel there's something more there, so we might find out tonight. Then Greg comes to pick him up and helps clean up his depression a little bit.

On the way to the park, the family finds the Cock Sling but Greg lies at first about what it is, and then he confesses to Audrey it's a sex toy but he says it's for them, and though that's a lie, they seem to be on the way to getting better. The whole family has a lot of fun in the park playing with bubbles (which looks gorgeous) and then they play hide and seek. Ramon goes a bit farther to hide, he finds a place and gets in but then he closes his eyes and when he opens then he’s in some sort of cave, he sees his mother and is chased by a military guy, then his mom scatches her face just like Farid’s mom did in his dream. He comes out screaming and the whole family comes running to his aid, all clearly worried sick about what’s happening to him. And there is where they leave us, so I really can't wait to watch tonights episode.

August Richards, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and more, The Scenes: Coulson faces his greatest fear & Fitz and Simmons get married
Justyna: This episode was pretty much perfect. Each time I thought I've already seen the best scene of the hour, there was another one to take my breath away. I'm so glad to be one of the fans who follow and support this show from its very beginning and to say that this 100th episode felt exactly right for this incredible story. First, let me give a shout-out to the four scenes that I would all include in the article if possible. The moment when both the viewers and the team learn not only that Coulson is dying but also why. After all this time, it's hard to believe he's dying from the very same wound and Loki is still killing him years later. Second, there's Daisy's reaction and breakdown when it hits her just how much Coulson means to her and how lost she feels without him. Then of course, there's the wedding. The romantic plots are rarely one of my favorite aspects of the show but these two I've loved since the start, so I'm glad to see their moment of joy and hope, without any interruptions or new disasters. Finally, there's my choice for SOTW - Coulson facing his greatest fear. As much as I love all the other characters, I can't imagine SHIELD without Coulson and I was glad to see this episode with main focus on his character. The entire conversation is so brilliantly done, with vision of Mike who tries to convince Phil that none of the events of the show ever happened and he makes this conclusion sound more possible than I expected. When the doubt starts and all the flashbacks bring memories of the hundred episodes of the show, it makes for a truly emotional and powerful scene. Clark Gregg is brilliant as always and I loved the return of J. August Richards in the hour. Coulson's the heart and soul of SHIELD and here we see what his team really means to him. "It matters who you are" is also one of my favorites quotes from the show and it worked perfectly in the moment as well. And the entire scene ends with such an inspiring view, when real Mike, now a true hero, shows up with SHIELD for Coulson when he needs help the most. The fight that follows is also wonderfully done. And finally, one important thing still to be added. The music has always been such a significant part of the show. It's one of the best TV soundtracks I've heard, so the return of Bear McCreary's "Crossing Into Darkness" in this scene made it feel complete. Kudos to the entire cast & crew of the show, not only for this moment or the episode, but for all their marvelous work on the series. May the story never end.
Beth: Fitz and Simmons get married and Deke is revealed to be a FitzSimmons. I had braced myself for heartbreak and they proved me wrong. Who would have thought that two bickering scientists would end up having the wedding in the 100th ep?!?! I loved the ceremony, it was so AOS and most importantly so Jemma and Leo. He was nervous and she was sweet and they said just the right thing to each other. Oh and DEKE!! I knew it, he is a mix of both and it confirms these two have a science baby in their future.
Joey: The wedding. I've been rooting for them since day one, and I'm both happy and sad that it happened 100 episodes into the show. It's a monumental moment, but I also wanted it sooner, I'm greedy. The twist with Deke being their grandson put it over the edge, though. A+ twist there, AOS.
Jamie: Fake Mike tries to convince Coulson it's all been a dream. The way this scene was edited was just amazing. With all the flashbacks to the past 5 years.
ASH VS EVIL DEAD, "Booth Three", March 4, 2018, Actors: Bruce Campbell and more
The Scene: The ending fight scene
Milo: The ending fight scene with Ash set to a-Ha's Take on Me. This was a brilliantly done over-the-top fight scene set to a cheesy 80's pop song that feels right at home with the tone of the show. Brutal, entertaining and action packed, this scene really did a great job at standing out.
Claire: Martha has been forced into a girl’s weekend in Vegas with Christine and wins a lap dance at a strip club. She is less than thrilled. She keeps backing away from the buff ‘fireman’ and falls off the stage onto a table; injured again. She doesn’t want to be unfaithful to her shepherd boyfriend back in Bakersfield. Martha Kelly’s low key, sad sack, smart and caring Martha is one of my favorite characters on television.
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, "The Day Before He Died", March 8, 2018, Actors: Karla Souza, Lolita Davidovich, The Scene: Laurel confronts her mother
Joey: Dr. Chang's thank-you party/dinner. This scene was just so great. The entire ensemble is together, and so many things come to a head. From her dad breaking down, her sister revealing she turned down college, and her brother getting punched in the face, there was a little bit of everything all packed into one scene.
Marko: Stella and Wes reunite in the hospital. I'm a true sucker for these big romantic moments and my heart started pounding majorly the moment he appeared behind her. Their chemistry is off the chart and can't wait to see more.
Justyna: There are so many concepts of hell being explored in multiple shows and movies. However this memory of Charlotte's personal nightmare might just be one of the darkest ones I've heard. It's a beautiful morning that she gets to spend with her family when one of the criminals she helped set free enters their home and kills all of her loved ones. And she doesn't even get to mourn them, instead she's just left sitting there and smiling until another morning begins and another man destroys her family all over again. It's a horrifying and memorable view. And it puts Charlotte's struggle to become a better person in quite a new perspective. Tricia Helfer does an amazing job in this moment and Charlotte's pain is seen in every move she makes and heard in every one of her words. She doesn't just fear hell, she truly regrets what she's done in her past. She understands that she's the reason why there are murderers out there in the world who get to live their lives free because of her actions. The scene also helps viewers realize just how much it hurt Charlotte when she returned to life and learned that she lost the custody of her kids and can't even see her family anymore. Such a powerful and wonderfully acted moment. Also, I was glad to see Linda quietly listening to Charlotte's reveal, just letting her know at the end how brave she is for sharing this truth. Kudos to cast & crew for their great work!
Laura: Patrick comes clean to David about his fiancé and David needs time to accept what he has heard. It was Patrick's love and acceptance of David as a whole, flaws and all, that inspired David to start really trusting people. And then this big bombshell was dropped and now David is questioning everything he just learned. Hearing David refer to himself as "damaged goods" hurts me so deep, and listening to Patrick talk about how David makes him feel right made my heart sink into the floor. Dan and Noah were effortlessly beautiful in this scene and I would be more upset about this revelation if it wasn't written and acted as stunningly as it was, and if I didn't trust these writers to have them reconcile in a satisfying way.
Beth: David and Patrick talk after Patrick's ex showed up. When we met David, he was so spoiled and so self-entitled, through his experiences in this quirky town, he has learned to open himself up and be honest and part of that lately has been due to Patrick. I love this relationship and the fact that David can be vulnerable enough to admit that he thinks of himself as 'damaged goods', talk about character growth!! This may be a comedy, but they bring every feel and it makes me smile.
Kollin: The heart-to-heart dialogue between Dean and Sam never gets old, especially when it comes so unexpectedly at the end of a throwaway episode. This particular episode was about faith and the good fight. Earlier in the episode, the priest tells Sam and Dean that the world will never be perfect, but that is not an excuse to give up. Those who do good must do what they have to do, if not to make the world perfect, then to at least make it better. This is a universal theme that many of us, as viewers, feel, but it especially applies to Sam and Dean and their life of literally fighting the good fight. In the concluding scene, Sam questions the insurmountability of what they've been doing all their lives. What is it worth, if evil just keeps coming back? Can we really change things? And in response to Sam's questions, Dean says, "that would be nice," a short, but profound response that echoed the priest's words of advice - all we can do is imagine a perfect world, but in the meantime, we just got to keep having faith in what we do and keep fighting, and him brushing away Sam's question is him moving on to the next one.
Justyna: This was a fantastic episode with many memorable scenes to highlight. Grant Gustin did such an incredible job in the hour and I loved all of Barry's attempts to save the city with his friends and especially his moment with Iris. However, since their scene is already mentioned in the article, I decided to go with another emotional and beautifully acted moment - the one where Harry is not able to talk about the wife he lost so he chooses to share his thoughts with Jesse instead. This father-daughter duo has been through so much since their first appearance on the show, so I'm glad they finally reached this quiet understanding at the end of the episode. Tom Cavanagh continues to deliver brilliant performances and this one was no exception. Harry's voice keeps breaking down and his eyes are filled with deep sorrow when he struggles to let Jesse know why he can't just move on or even talk about losing the love of his life. He does find a way to make his daugther listen to everything he can't express with words by using the reverse thought inhibitor. This way, Jesse gets to hear her mother again and it's both heartbreaking and heartwarming to see these two sitting together and remembering what they've lost. "Because in the vast night sky, you are the only star I see." A wonderful reference to season one quote and beautiful memory to share. Kudos to cast & crew for all their wonderful work in the hour!
Naomi: At the beginning of a nuclear explosion, Barry brings things around him to a halt through his newly enhanced speed. Leaving everyone seemingly frozen in time, he is only able to communicate with his friends by keeping physical contact with them as they enter Flashtime. Exhausted and filled with the grief that everyone will die when he stops running, he uses the last bit of strength he has to awaken Iris. Barry is barely able to speak, but apologizes to Iris for not being the hero this time. She comforts him, though she is visibly shaken and afraid of what is to come. As they hold each other, Barry tells Iris she is his "lightning rod" and this statement sparks Iris with an idea to help Barry save Central City. How would you spend the last moments you have in the world? This scene breathtakingly answered that question. Watching Iris fight back tears as she tried to free Barry from his agony just broke my heart. Knowing they were about to die, Iris was able to put her fear aside and bring Barry back to what was most important- the fact that they were together. Iris being enveloped in Flashtime with Barry was shot beautifully. The way Barry looked at Iris when she suggested using lightning from the Speed Force was priceless. The passionate kiss and the flicker of lightning reflected in Iris' eyes as Barry sped away for the save closed the scene with a mic drop.
Kollin: In this concluding scene, we see a more human side in the antagonist Negan. Dean Morgan did a wonderful job in expressing the pain he felt upon hearing the news that Carl had died, and from a character standpoint, it did not feel out of place, as we had seen earlier in the season that he does have a soft spot in his heart for the kid. Negan's methods of retaining order may not be entirely moral, but at the end of the day he is human, and we see that for the first time in the scene. This scene makes things less black and white, as well, and more interesting. It begs the question, is Negan really the bad guy in all this? I mean, it was Rick who started the conflict by killing some of Negan's crew...in their sleep! And we see in this very scene how blinded Rick can be when he is filled with rage and/or an objective. He is not any worse than Negan. What is clear is that Rick makes one too many stupid and senseless choices, and thus, it was profoundly gratifying to see Negan tell him that straight up. Finally, someone gives Rick a reality check! And it is Negan of all people. It was a poignant and emotional scene that acted as a turning point for this All Out War storyline, and one that got me, who has detested the show week in, week out, back watching with anticipation. It is a resonant scene, driven by a theme that has acted as the backbone of this show over 13 seasons, but yet each time it is as emotional as the last.
DarkUFO: Rick talks to Negan over the walkie-talkie and tells him that Carl is dead.

"Let's stop fucking thinking!"

Hi, there, sorry for the late reviews, I'm just catching up on everything. On Here and Now's seconds episode we pick up right where we left off, Audrey and Greg are arguing outside the therapist's office and I have to say their insults always cut way too deep, they're always so well crafted, seems like it would be refreshing for someone to just say "fuck off" at least once.

Inside the office, Ramon doesn't beat around the bush and just tells everything to the therapist, Fahrid Shokrani (Fred for his racist patients). He tells him about his dream and the mother, and contrary to what one would expect, he pays attention and when he looks at the picture even seems to remember seeing Ramon that day. Then, of course, he tries to push it down and only recommends he lays off the drugs for a while, even though Ramon advocates for Marihuana passionately enough to get Fahrid's interest peaked.

Later, when he's at home talking to his wife, Layla (Necar Zadegan - 24, Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce), we learn it means "It's coming" in Farsi. He's wondering about how odd it all is since the photo Ramon saw was in his office for just one day and he seemed to remember that day at the beach when he was five, he also realized 11/11 is also his birthday, but Layla writes it off as one of the wonders of the brain and a few coincidences. He doesn't seem convinced but of course, he can't go down the supernatural rabbit hole so easily.

In his episode we delve a lot into Farid's family, their differences and how they manage them, Farid is quite against Islam, but his wife isn't, and his son, Navid (Marwan Salama), follows the religion but wears makeup and a hijab, which could make him a bigger target, so even though the parents try to be understanding, they don't let him go out like that outside their home. We also see quite a bit of hypocrisy from the mother since she wears the hijab not because she's oppressed but because in the US the oppressive thing would be forcing her not to wear it, but yet she's okay with this making her a "target" and not with letting her son go out into the world the way he wants to.

We also learn Navid goes to Kristen's school and seems to have a crush on her. Speaking of school, we see a fun scene where they debate on Sex Ed and then thing get a bit more complicated, they find posters for the Northern European Heritage society, "be proud of your race". This leads to a debate, run by Audrey, where the white kids complain about how only diverse kids get their pride celebrated, and that they're sick of feeling they need to personally apologize for all of history, which could've been an interesting point of that debate but gets a little sidetracked by what they'll do next.

When Kristen learns she has chlamydia she tells Ashley she slept with Randy, Ashley's mad but she takes her to the clinic where they get attacked by a "pro-life" protester who calls Kristen a dumb whore, so she kicks him in the balls (nice!). But then the cops arrive and arrest them both. Ashley and Kristen have very different experiences with the cops, while Kristen makes friends with one of them played by Samantha Sloyan (Grey's Anatomy, Scandal), Ashley gets questioned about everything, from the price of her bag (if she didn’t steal it) to the amount of skin cream she carries, and gets her wig "searched". Eventually, they're let go, since it turns out the guy was a registered sex offender (yeah, the one shouting about the importance of life) and the clinic was close to a middle school so he wasn’t going press charges.

Malcolm picks them up, so Ashley decides to come clean about everything that led to them being at the clinic, mainly Randy, and I mean she comes CLEAN, she tells him she likes to flirt but would never go through with anything. And he's upset, but not as much as I expected him to be, he points out her need to flirt seemed to have put things in motion that ended with her sister getting legally raped and getting chlamydia, she argues he coaches a women’s soccer team and gives them messages. So they decide to not let the argument escalate by agreeing to do the crazy shit together, not apart. She also tells him she has decided not to wear the wig anymore (which is honestly a relief), but she doesn’t tell him what happened to it. This was honestly my favorite story, not only because I find Ashley and Malm's marriage really interesting, but because it showed how the same event can go so differently for two people (Ashley and Kristen) and how subtly they treated these differences, it was truly brilliant.

We also see a new side of Duc here, we see a bit of his "brand" lifestyle, he also seems to be writing a book if he gets his dad to work with the publisher again. We learn he has memories of watching strangers having sex with his mom, who was a prostitute. And we learn he's not celibate at all, he actually seems to have a misogynistic issue there, given the way he conducts himself with these women, there's also the little detail that he seems to like only white women. I guess we'll see more of his journey later, but for now, he's my least favorite sibling.

While Audrey is convinced Ramon has schizophrenia, like her brother Ike, Greg is willing to open his mind and investigates the 11 11 phenomena, since if the 11 11 thing was just about Ramon, then why would so many people share Ramon’s experience? he even starts to see the number everywhere too, which makes me wonder, is this a train you can willingly hop on?. Greg continues to be quite lost and ignored by his family, and this only adds to it, he even has another outburst in front of his students, going back on his life's work, his empathy philosophy, saying it really accomplishes nothing, it only lols you into complacency, so you can get fucked even harder, then he kicks them out in the middle of class telling them to stop thinking and go live.

"Live, love somebody, hate somebody, let's stop thinking, go burn something down!"

We see Ramon and Henry's relationship develop as they open up to each other, Ramon tells him he remembers being a kid and being followed by shadows, so this is clearly not completely new for him. And instead of being turned off, Henry suggests he shouldn't look at what’s happening to him with fear. So Ramon wonders why he sticks around if he might be losing his mind but Henry says he feels he’s where he’s supposed to, and he doesn’t get that feeling very often.

During the whole episode Audrey organizes a dinner for everyone but Ramon to discuss the situation, but Kristen tells him and he shows up, he tries to put her mind at ease but he also implies she should stop making this about her, since he's the one that should be scared the most about losing his mind, but maybe they just don't know what's in store for him. And it is nice when she gets put in her place, her fears are understandable, but her character continues to be quite annoying, though her one scene with Kristen was pretty nice.

It can only get better.

Mom, I think old people lie when they say that. They don't want us to know how truly horrible things are, cause we'd all run screaming into traffic.
What did you think of the episode? I look forward to your comments.
1. Chip: “Don’t ever talk about my mom like that, behind her back!” It was heroic of Chip standing up for Mama Baskets to her mean friends, in church. He has gained so much heart this season!” (Claire)

1. Joseph Peach: “Eat something. You’ll feel better!” ~~~An innocuous saying, but since he has ‘cured’ her schizophrenia, she has developed authophagia: self cannibalism! (Claire)
2. Joseph Peach: “Come, we’re waiting for you. Sit down. Welcome, we hope you’re not vegans!” ~~~welcoming Alice Woods and Louise Lispector to the family dinner, consisting of a buffet of various meats. But WHAT is in that meat? (Claire)
3. Edie Peach: “We’re just a real special family!” ~~~Edie Peach trying to convince Zoe Woods to come over to their side; consisting of the dead and cannibalism. But Edie is so sweet and kind, always smiling. Special is a good word to describe the Peach’s. This show is superb with evil disguising itself behind beauty. (Claire)
4. Louise: “I like silent companions!” ~~~Nathan asking Louise about her taxidermy hobby. She is always shown being so respectful to her little critters. Louise is real and honest. I love her response. (Claire)
1. Howard Alpha to Anna Prime: “I’m sorry. I know I made mistakes in the past and I’m so sorry. I regret so much and I know I can’t just suddenly fix everything. For a few minutes, can you just pretend you don’t know me? And I’m not your negligent father, the guy who left and hurt you and ruined everything. Can we start over? Just tell me everything about you and I’ll just listen. I won’t say a word. Please. Tell me what I’ve missed.” (Milo)
1. Leo: "Gay, not blind." (Jamie and Prpleight) ~~~I think it was the physicality that accompanied that line that made it extra awesome. (Prpleight)
3. Zari: "Kill me now." ~~~In the midst of a time loop where the ship continuously blows up and kills everyone onboard, Zari gets the timing of it just right when she overhears Nate and Amaya having private time. Disgusted and ready to leave this mortal coil, the ship complies with her request to kill her. I could not relate to Zari more than I did in this moment, and it was a really funny one to include.
1. Burnham: “The only way to defeat fear is to tell it 'No'. No, we will not take shortcuts on the path to righteousness. No, we will not break the rules that protect us from our basest instincts. No, we will not allow desperation to destroy moral authority.” (Laura)
2. Emperor Georgiou: “What's wrong? Are you scared, Number One? Where I'm from, there's a saying,'Scared Kelpian makes for tough Kelpian.' Have you gotten tough since we served together on the Shenzhou, Mr. Saru?” Saru: “Affirmative, Captain. Very tough. So much so that many find me simply unpalatable.” (Laura)
3. Georgiou: “You talked them out of it, didn't you?” Burnham: “Of planetary slaughter? Yes.” Georgiou: “Oh, don't be so dramatic. When I did this in my universe, it didn't wipe out the Klingons. A decent number should be able to save themselves. Plus, they'll have an advantage. No Terran ships firing on them as they try to escape.” Burnham: “Turn it off.” Georgiou: “Has it ever occurred to you that I was doing this for you? By ending the war, and setting you free from the guilt and pain you carry because of it.” Burnham: “Not buying it.” Georgiou: “Worth a try.” Burnham: “You really are nothing like my Georgiou, are you?” Georgiou: “No. And I never have been. She's dead, Michael. There are no second chances.” Burnham: “No, I suppose not.” Georgiou: “I do like you. Why not join me? The bomb is in position.” (Laura)
Simmons and more, The Scene: The ending revelation
Milo: The ending revelation that Emily Alpha had been cheating on Howard Alpha left an impact. After the build-up to believe that Emily Prime had cheated on Howard Prime, this was an interesting twist that Howard Prime found out after initially expecting Andrei to be an operative. This will no doubt effect Howard Alpha when he finds out, and it creates plenty of interesting story possibilities given how little we know about both characters.

EVERYTHING SUCKS!, "My Friends Have Been Eaten by Spiders", February 16, 2018, Actors: Peyton Kennedy, Jahi Di'Allo Winston, The Scene: Kate tells Luke he's not the only one having a hard time
Jamie: This was one of the more serious moments of the show. Both kids were pretty great in this scene. This scene made me emotional. And it was about time Luke got the reality check he needed.

HERE AND NOW, "It's Coming", February 18, 2018, Actors: Holly Hunter, Tim Robbins and more
The Scene: The parallel police searches
Luana: It was a great, not overly dramatic, way to show how different these situations can be.
Justyna: It was such a great episode. I watched it twice already and there's a number of scenes I'd love to highlight. But I did decide to go with the montage where, for a little while, Zari stops trying to save everyone and just uses the opportunity to spend time with her friends. There's a real bond that she's developing with the Legends and these light-hearted moments are exactly what's needed in between all the confusion and fear. There's so many little things in this montage, from the costumes, through the book reading and the hilarious cue cards at the end, everything just works perfectly together. Until "nothing is fun anymore". Tala Ashe did such a wonderful job in the episode, both in the dramatic moments and the funny ones. Now I'd love to see more focus on Zari. Glad to see her fully embracing the team. Sometimes on the shows I find it surprising when after just one adventure people can suddenly grow very close together, so it made sense to me that Zari needed this simulation to find her place with the Legends. Kudos to cast & crew for the great work on the episode!
Jamie: Zari holding cue cards behind Ray & Mick. There were a lot of hilarious moments in this episode and this entire montage was great. But the scene with the cue cards was absolutely hilarious. And her facial expression during this scene just makes it perfect.
Jennise: Zari holds up descriptive cards as Rory and Ray argue over laundry. Nate talks Zari into doing a "fun montage" as a way to manage the stress of the time loop. She takes his advice. The montage ends when she holds up post cards quoting Mick and Ray as they bicker in the laundry room. Right down to Mick’s grunt.
Samantha: After Zari tries to kill herself, she explains the time loop to Sara who offers help. This was an episode full of a lot of funny moments, but this scene really stuck out for me. Reliving the same time over & over again is a trope TV shows use often and it can have really amusing results, but here we saw the dark side of it as Zari struggled with the fact no matter what she did to try & change their destiny, the Waverider still blew up at the end of the hour & they still all died. She was at such a loss and basically being driven insane by being the only one caught in the time loop, and that gave us a glimpse of a different side to Zari. When she failed, she explained the situation to Sara, who believed her this time and quickly put a plan into action. Considering how the two began the episode, it was a really nice moment as Zari was almost in disbelief that this time she'd managed to get through to Sara.
Diana: The scene in which Zari and Ray hear Sara talking about Zari and how she is a valuable member of the team. Very sweet of Sara.
Sam: I thought this scene was an important one in terms of Juliette and Avery's relationship. Juliette has put Avery through so much since they got together, Avery even lists all of the things that Juliette has done, and this cult thing now looks like the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Luana: The tension in this scene was off the charts, while KJ recognizes Diangelo's car, Nadine realizes he's a cop. And Fish recognizing the fear on her face and putting two and two together was everything, from this point on, I could not take my eyes off the screen until the season was over. And, at the same time, Latrice sees Jablonski on the street, there's only so much my heart can take.
Milo: This was a big moment for Rebels this week as it took one of its most important characters off the board, giving him a triumphant send-off that marked an excellent end to the episode. The build-up to his death was superb, and he went out on a high, essentially cancelling the production of the TIE Defender.
Claire: Moore and Sara have a light-hearted, tender moment teasing each other about an engagement, in the future. I definitely want these two to get together and it was nice to see Sara let down her guard a little. And when Moore gives up drinking, you know he’s serious. Dakota Fanning and Luke Evans as Sara and Moore. Terrific show!
Luana: The killer is almost caught.
