In the second half of Arrested Development's fifth season, pressures mount on the Bluth family as Buster heads toward a murder trial. The Bluth company is on the hook to build a 'smart' border wall that puts them in debt and risks exposing a software hoax perpetrated by George-Michael. Laura M: Oh my god. What a mess this season is. The only thing I was praying for, the only thing that could save this season was Tony to finally resurface and save GOB from his pure agony. Sure enough, when it’s time to do the closet switcheroo, Tony pulls through. I love the quiet moments where the two of them talk things through. It’s so painfully obvious that GOB is head over heels in love with Tony, and I think Tony loves him back but is scared to confront those feelings. And of course we get that disgustingly juicy cliffhanger. I have my theories about who planted the cement, and I hate that I have to wait so long to find out! Also, Happy Pride to GOB! I’m so proud of him for finally being himself after all these years of hiding!
Laura B: Colony continues to improve moving towards grade A storytelling with an episode so emotionally-charged and politically complicated (and so reminiscent of so many scenes and character dynamics featured in LOST). It's no longer afraid to take risks and prove to the audience that the stakes are high, as Snyder cons the struggling Vincent to make contact with the Occupation, which results in a mass shootout throughout MacGregor's camp where all, but one Bowman makes it out alive. The loss of Charlie is so gut-wrenching after knowing how much Will in particular went through to get him back, but even more demoralizing was Snyder's Benjamin Linus-like tactics to take this path, knowing the risk.

DECEPTION, "Transposition", May 27, 2018, Actors: Ilfenesh Hadera, Jack Cutmore-Scott, The Scene: Kay admits her feelings for Cameron
Klutzy girl: Kay admits her feelings for Cameron to Jonathan, unaware that she's talking to the wrong Black sibling. There was just so much vulnerability and pain from her, and it hurt. And it's upsetting we won't be getting a resolution to anything since the show was cancelled but Kay and Cameron's relationship will always be one of my favorite aspects of it. The two of them love each other so much, and I'm glad Kay took such a huge risk, even though she was confessing to the wrong twin.
Justyna: This was such a great season finale and there were so many wonderful scenes worth highlighting in the article (the wedding, the documentary, the rescue party) but in the end nothing was more memorable to me than Liv's choice at the end. I was so glad to see the lovely reunion between Dale and Clive last week and their wedding in this hour was such a fun and beautifully done surprise. But when the vows end and the happy couple leaves with the plan to turn Clive into a zombie, Liv stops the two and offers a wedding gift unlike any other - the cure for zombie virus. It's the only one she has and she's ready to take it, especially considering that she was almost executed for her recent actions hours earlier. But watching Clive and Bozzio's wedding, she realizes how much this cure would mean to her friends, the possibility to be together and have children, and she decides to give it away. It's both heartwarming and heartbreaking to watch but I loved seeing everyone's reactions to the news. The tears of joy in Dale's eyes and the embrace between Liv and Clive. Also, of course that Ravi understood what was happening right away. And Peyton's words speak volumes about Liv's character: "Isn't that just like her?" Sacrificing her own life and happiness for the people she loves - that's exactly who Liv Moore is. The strength of this hero should never be underestimated or forgotten. Very excited to see the last chapter of this story in the next season. Kudos to cast & crew for their fantastic work!
Marko: Clive and Bozzio get married, Liv decides to give the cure to them so they could have kids. The weirdest vows you'll ever hear with the most honest happiness you can see on TV. Great finale and phenomenal moment.
Saloni: The entire final scene with Eve trashing Villanelle's apartment, both of them on the bed, and then Eve stabbing her. The entire first season has been building up to this moment of free confrontation between the two women and it did not disappoint. They're both honest and even emotional and yet maneuver and manipulate the other. It was a thrilling end to season 1 and Villanelle's escape points to an exciting season 2.
Jamie: These two have such a twisted relationship. Can't wait to see where it's headed next season.

LIFE SENTENCE, "Frisky Business", June 1, 2018, Actors: Lucy Hale, Riley Smith
The Scene: Stella and Dr. Grant kiss
Luana: I mean, sparks were literally flying, I will miss this little show.

LUCIFER, "Boo Normal", May 28, 2018, Actors: Lauren German, Aimee Garcia
The Scene: Ella tells Chloe she has a "ghost" friend
Luana: Hated the casting for this one but the friendship between Ella and Chloe, and the scenes with Dan and Lucifer are the perfect example of why this show is so awesome.
Bradley: Philip and Elizabeth say goodbye to Henry. Philip and Elizabeth have done some terrible things: they've killed people, lied to people, destroyed marriages, ruined lives. And, over the years, they've struggled with doing many of those things. But nothing was as hard as abandoning their son while they flee to Russia. The phone call in which they say goodbye to Henry is utterly heartbreaking, not just because it's the last time they'll ever speak, but because Henry has absolutely no idea. As Philip looks set to start crying as he tells his son he's proud of him, Henry just assumes he's been drinking. The silence between each line seems to take an age, the audience on edge over whether the call could be about to end. You could not ask for two more perfectly conflicting images: Philip and Elizabeth outside in the cold and the dark, putting on their greatest ever disguise on the worst night of their lives; Henry in a busy-sounding college games room, smiling and smirking as though everything is normal. It's fitting that the last sentence of sentiment, which comes from Elizabeth, is: "I love you, Henry." But it's like a dagger to the heart, a pain that's enhanced a moment later when Henry ends the call with eight simple words: "I'll see you next week. Okay, bye, Dad." Henry has often been the background character or the punchline for jokes; here, he's the most important character the show has ever had. It's gutting, and the absolute perfect ending for that relationship.
DarkUFO: So many great scenes but I'll go with when Stan confronts Philip and Elizabeth.
Laura B: There were a lot of really great scenes in this nicely done series finale. I was so torn between this scene and the beautifully shot ending sequences, but I chose this one, because at least for me, Philip has always been the heart of this cathartic espionage semi-tragic story and so it was Matthew Rhys' monologue pleading with Stan that moved me to tears, and I could not say no to it. It might be true that one could have imagined other endings for this series, but the one the writers chose felt so perfectly on par with what they have always done, something painful, but yet subdued in spite of itself. The Americans was never my favorite series, but it deserved all of the critical acclaim it received for some of the best acting and for its subversive take on the period espionage drama.
Saloni: Elizabeth and Philip see Paige on the train station, realizing she's basically abandoned them. The entire series finale was haunting and extraordinary, including this scene and its execution. First of all, the music choice, U2's "With or Without You," was somehow so fitting. Just when their passports had been checked and you see Elizabeth's relief that they’re inching closer to their escape, she looks out the window to see that her daughter, one whom she trained to sort of follow in her footsteps, has left them behind and chosen to live in America. I loved the suddenness of the moment, the true sadness of it, pumped by the song as soon as Elizabeth sees Paige outside. Her face and expressions, as her hands are on the window taking a final look at her daughter, it is all a work of art by Keri Russell. We've rarely seen this character break down her walls and yet in this moment, she perfectly displays the grief of a mother. Losing Henry was still a choice both, Elizabeth and Philip, were grappling with and then losing Paige like this is clearly devastating. I loved that Philip's instant reaction on seeing Paige was to immediately go up to Elizabeth and silently, they comforted one another. I’m glad they showed Paige’s lonesome expression as she stood alone on that platform, too. Maybe she chose to stay for Henry, or maybe she realized it's the only home she knows, or maybe it was her fight with Elizabeth in the previous episode, or Philip telling Stan in the parking lot that they’ve lost sight of why they do this. It all added up and she’s made a choice and she has to live with it. A masterful scene.
Claire: The scene where June sees Emily in the market for the first time since Emily’s return to Gilead. The handmaids start introducing themselves to each other with their given birth names. Their whispered words are a small, beautiful step towards freedom. It also made me think of the power of our given names. When Africans were horribly ripped from their families and home and brought to America, they too were given new names by the slave owners. So as much as we like to think that the Handmaid's Tale is pure science-fiction, there is a lot of truth in it and that is terrifying.
Jamie: It's nice to see the handmaids stick together like this and slowly start to dare to break free from all of the restrictions.
Marko: The Opening scene. What a powerful scene. It was beautifully shot and terrifyingly sad.
Beth: I just want to preface this with the fact that I hated that this happened, the scene broke my heart and angered me because of the implications this has for the rest of the series. With that being said, it doesn't change the fact that this scene grabbed a hold of me and refused to let go until I felt all the emotions of losing a character that I have loved and hated with equal measure throughout this show. The non-verbal acting of Phoebe and the direction of Charles Michael Davis was great. Hayley was pinned by Greta and had a moment of hope (no pun intended) when she saw her daughter's father bust in followed by the man she had deeply loved, Elijah. She then had the devastating realization that Elijah was not there to save her and Klaus was physically unable to because of Elijah. She ran the gambit of emotions silently and took one final slow look at an incapacitated Klaus and then their unconscious daughter and decided the only way to save Hope was to sacrifice herself and she did it without hesitation. Say what you want about Hayley over the course of the series, but one cannot deny her devotion, fierce protection and love for Hope.
Marko: It was a perfect moment and she went out like a bada*s. A really captivating performance by Phoebe who killed it with every fiber of her being. I will miss U Hayley Marshall.
Laura B: I think a lot of viewers expected to see Ford again, but some of us weren't sure in what capacity. And although I hope we see Host Ford at some point, I'm definitely going to enjoy this trip down the rabbit hole exploring "The Cradle" and see all that can happen inside the Matrix, errr I mean the mainframe!
Milo: This was a chilling end to the episode. The return of Anthony Hopkins is a memorable one, and even though it was a short scene, it was super effective, portraying Hopkins at his most Hannibal Lecter-esque.

Previously on Arrested Development: Last we saw of the bunch, Rebel Alley <strike>Howard</strike> (the fictional daughter of Arrested Development’s fictional version of <strike>Opie</strike> Ron Howard) managed to drive a wedge between the two closest members of the Bluth family, Michael and George Michael, while Lucille 2 went missing under very mysterious circumstances.

After a five year hiatus, the Bluth family and company are returning for a new set of zany adventures. When the series returns tomorrow, even longtime viewers may find themselves a bit confused by the timeline and old references. Season four of Arrested Development was largely seen as a critical disappointment as it struggled to get all of our favorite characters in the same room at the same time. Thankfully, the writers noted this problem and have done a lot to fix it this season.

While I see this season as a massive improvement over season four, it should be noted that it is not without some growing pains early on. The time-twisting narratives are undeniably difficult to follow, especially given the fact that most of us have not watched an episode of the series in more than five years. The first episode features a five minute plus recap and an incredibly difficult structure that frustrated me when I first set out to watch. I would encourage devoted viewers to rewatch the last episode of season four before attempting to watch this season’s premiere.

Given the complexity of each episode, it would be nearly impossible to recap or even adequately tease all of the different twists and turns involved in this half season (or any season) of Arrested Development. In lieu of this, I’m going to tease just a little about the best character arcs in the next eight episodes:

Season five starts with Michael attempting to avoid everyone in his family and, as is usual for members of the Bluth family, failing at every single turn. By the end of the third episode, Michael is already saying, “I’m done with this family” and then rushing back to help them all a whole two minutes later. Needless to say, this season is going to feature a lot of this sort of thing (as every other season has).

One of the highlights of the first eight episodes include what is done with the Rebel Alley storyline. I have to admit that I was not a big fan of this part of the series back in season four. It seemed genuinely strange to put Michael and George Michael in such a situation and George Michael punching his father just seemed out of character. This season fixes a lot of those problems by making the story interesting, giving us a real reason to enjoy Rebel’s character, and constructing an enjoyably awkward reunion for the father and son. This storyline also introduces a lot of special cameos “related” to Rebel Alley in episode six (including one bittersweet cameo that genuinely shocked me).

Another of my favorite storylines from these episodes includes Gob’s relationship and struggle with Ben Stiller’s Tony Wonder. While the majority of this story does not come to fruition until the eighth episode, longtime viewers will find large pieces of Gob’s arc this season similar to Tobias’s in previous seasons. While I’m a little confused as to why the writers chose to switch the characters around so much, it’s an undeniably entertaining set of episodes for Gob.

Tobias, meanwhile, working in his “professional” position as a therapist, helps Lucille to escape from rehab and take refuge in a beach house that many had considered long gone. Still hopelessly seeking an acting career, Tobias continually makes a fool of himself in his usually dramatic ways. This season sees Tobias attempt to act out the roles of many of his (former?) family members. With a small exception, Tobias is somewhat underused as his own character does not receive a real focus in these eight episodes (though not near to the same degree as Lindsay), but is excellently used in a number of the scenes involving all of the major characters.

Both Stan and Sally Sitwell have a large presence in this season. The elder Sitwell is lured into another of Maeby’s money schemes (this one involves her dressing up as an old woman at a senior center) which ends up involving more wigs than were probably used on the set of The Americans. Sally serves as Lindsay’s opponent in the race for a seat in Congress in a role that I hope will be bigger in the second half of the season.

Basically saying anything about Buster at this point would be a big spoiler for the next season so you’ll just have to wait!

Rating: 8.7/10 - While I found the first few episodes somewhat discombobulating, this season is a definite return to form for the series. It’s funny, it’s clever, and it's every bit as smart as its characters are silly.

Episode Ranking: While I heavily recommend watching in order (it’s hard enough to follow all the twists in this series when the episodes are in order!), this is my ranking of the episodes of this season.

#1: Episode 5
#2: Episode 8
#3: Episode 6
#4: Episode 7
#5: Episode 4
#6: Episode 3
#7: Episode 2
#8: Episode 1
Six Feet Under alum Conroy will play — here comes a great Arrested Development name — Lottie Dottie DA, a district attorney who is prosecuting the case involving the disappearance of Lucille 2 (Liza Minnelli). She is described as, well, dotty, but she should not be underestimated.
Hello everyone and welcome to another WRT! Another week behind us and a really heated week ahead of us. This week I`m (MK) joined by SpoilerTV writers: Laura (LS), Gina (GK), Yon (SJ), Abi (AB), Rachel (RW), Joey (JH), Jamie (JC), Milo (MI) & Jessica (JN). As always feel free to join the discussion in the comment section down below

1. There is still a Man standing, at least in Fox`s house. The ABC comedy starring Tim Allen is in the process of getting uncancelled. Thoughts on Fox decision? Does LMS fit the Fox Line up?

MK: I personally think this is completely off brand for Fox and doesn`t fit their schedule. Fox is a younger-skewing network and doesn`t seem a show like LMS will draw in the crowd for them. But we shall see, let them prove me wrong but only if the whole cast comes back.

GK: I'm just glad Last Man Standing is coming back. Don't care if it was Fox, Netflix, or CMT. The show was really good.

SJ: Fox potentially picking up the Last Man Standing surprises and doesn't surprise me. For Fox the Network it is completely on brand, and hey, it might end up being more successful for them than it was on ABC. But I really need Networks picking up reboots etc and uncancelling shows to stop. Sure these reboots + revivals may make them a ton of money brand wise but giving how congested TV already is? Creativity, as we've seen with streaming/cable shows, is what brings people in. Not the tried and tested. It's extremely boring, and whilst I'm not gonna condemn fans for being happy that their show is potentially being brought back, I think it just speaks for the state of Fox on a whole that they're even considering this. I will forever be bitter with CBS for canceling 2 Broke Girls. It might've been problematic in places, but it never failed to make me laugh and gave us one of television's finest comedic duos in Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings (and I really need them to reunite at some point in the future). From what I remember last year the show was canceled because it was too expensive for CBS to consider renewing with how the ratings slid. That only happened because they kept putting the show on soooooo many breaks & changing the timeslots/day and this is the same Network that actually thought 9JKL and Living Biblically were funny.

AB: I think Last Man Standing might fit Fox's programming a little better than Two Broke Girls but I don't think reviving LMS is going to bring them the numbers that they need. Fox has a lot of low-rated shows (as in live viewers) and I just don't think this will pull the numbers that TPTB are thinking they might. I could be wrong, but I'm surprised at how keen they seem to be about it.

JH: I've never watched a full episode of Last Man Standing and based on the trailers and bits I've seen, I'm not really sure it's for me, so I don't personally feel anything about this. However, if I recall, the numbers for this show weren't terrible and certainly not low enough to warrant a cancellation, so I'm happy for the fans and the cast that they're getting the second chance they really shouldn't have had to have.

2. 1 week into May Sweeps and things just started to get good. What season/series finale you anticipating the most? And who do you believe will deliver the best shocker/surprise/cliffhanger?

MK: I am really excited and sad to see how Arizona and April will leave the GA-verse, meanwhile Flash and Arrow have the potential for exceptional finales so that should be interesting. Otherwise I expect a coupld of good twist from OUAT as they have only two more eps to show.

SJ: I'm really interested to see how exactly Agents of SHIELD & iZombie wrap proceedings. SHIELD we've already been told was written as a series finale, but I'm interested to see whether they have completely given the show closure or dangled any crumbs. iZombie, well this season has been far better than the dud that was s3 with many twists + turns and interesting storylines, and with the ratings the way they are, I'm hoping they were smart enough to tie up storylines. I expect Arrow to give Paul Blackthorne a fitting send-off, Supergirl to attempt to end things on a high The 100 to probably end in a bloodbath & I'm intrigued to see where exactly Siren take their first season (and still waiting on that renewal Freeform!)

AB: Loved Superstore's finale! Looking forward to seeing how SVU could knock it out of the park after some stellar episodes lately and how Lucifer will up their game and possibly wrap things up. It'll be interesting to see as well how Grey's tackle their season finale. Also, I know it's cable but I'm fully expecting a great twist in the Shadowhunters mid-season finale.

RW: With Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew’s upcoming departure, I’m interested in seeing how the Grey’s season finale is going to play out. I know Ellen Pompeo said in a recent interview that both characters were going to get a good send off, but I mean... C’mon, it’s Shondaland. One thing’s for sure though: tissues will definitely be needed.

JH: Definitely looking forward to SHIELD finale, mainly to see if there are any repercussions from the recent Avengers that tie into it. As for the most shocking? After the Jane the Virgin finale, I don't think there's anything else this season that will shock/surprise/cliffhang me as much. They've ruined May Sweeps for me, in the best possible way!

JC: I'm really looking forward to the SHIELD finale, but it better not be the series finale because we all know it'll have a cliffhanger. Aside from that, I'm curious to see how OUAT wraps things up, how Arizona and April's exits play out on Grey's Anatomy and hope that Chloe will finally find out the truth on Lucifer.

MI: I'm behind on The Americans but I'm really excited and nervous to see how that wraps up. It's been a phenomenal season and I'm not ready to see it go considering that it's one of my favorite shows of the decade. Keri Russell has been quietly putting in the best performance of any actress on television since Carrie Coon in The Leftovers, so I really hope both her and Matthew Rhys are in Emmys consideration once again.

JN: With Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew departing Grey’s Anatomy, I’m really looking forward (and extremely worried) about how the season is going to end. Viewers got an idea of how Arizona will leave town in last week’s episode, but the promo for the penultimate episode really has me worried about April’s future. It’s extremely hard for characters to survive and leave the show, but it’s almost unheard of them riding off into the sunset. So I really hope these two characters get a strong send-off.

3. Times up! The final cancellation and renewal decision will be made. Which fans will throw a surprise feast and which will drown in cancellation tears?

MK: I`m mostly worried about my Fox shows, B99 & Gotham. Also Speechless and FotB could go either way. I do hope all 4 can score a renewal. I Think a surprising cancellation could be Lucifer and Lethal Weapon, while Rise may score a renewal. Just a hunch.

LS: I really only care about learning B99’s fate. That being said, I am very interested to see which shows bite the bullet this year.

GK: I'm hoping against hope the following shows are renewed: Agents of Shield, The Brave, and Blindspot.

SJ: This is always a hard question for me because I really don't like celebrating any show being canceled because of the impact on the people behind the scenes, but I'll be extremely shocked if Timeless is given another season. The ratings just haven't been there, surprising slightly since fan power is what persuaded NBC to uncancel it. I can, unfortunately, see SHIELD & iZombie both being in massive danger. SHIELD might be saved by Marvel's intervention like it reportedly was last year, and maybe Mark will give iZombie a pity renewal but I, unfortunately, don't see that happening. Rise I don't think has made quite the impact that NBC was expecting, and the same goes for Station 19 and For The People on ABC, but out of the two For The People will probably get the chop. I would love if ABC does renew Speechless because it's such a unique, heartwarming comedy, I'm of course also routing for Siren to be renewed by Freeform, but I'm honestly more interested in the show's potentially being picked up.

AB: It might be controversial, but I really don't see how Lucifer will be able to pull off a renewal, same for Timeless and Agents Of Shield as well. I think Brooklyn Nine-Nine will get the same treatment as Bones and New Girl in their last seasons with a shortened send-off. I can also see How To Get Away With Murder returning for a final season but on the surprises side it could be possible that Criminal Minds is canceled if they can't get deals in place (it was a close call last year) and a possible cancellation of one of the ABC comedies.

JH: I'm devastated to say I don't think we'll be getting another season of For the People. A shame people haven't found it. I'm also prepared to say goodbye to Lucifer and a few others. It's gonna be a sad end of season for me. I'm pretty sure How to Get Away with Murder will be renewed, but I'm nervous they won't let them plan it as the final season, because there's no way the ratings will hold next season to earn another and I really would like a proper ending for it. I'll certainly keep my fingers crossed for the next few weeks though!

JC: There's only really a few shows that I'm attached enough to hope for a renewal. The rest could go either way and I'd be fine with it. Some of the former include Agents of SHIELD, Timeless (which I've gotten attached to this season), Lucifer.

MI: I'm hoping for Agents of SHIELD, The 100, Gotham, The Expanse, Elementary, Legion and Brooklyn Nine-Nine renewals if possible. I think The 100 fans might be lucky because The CW is super generous with renewals and with Jane the Virgin and The Originals ending plus the move to Sunday nights will give them a bit more room to work with, but I'm less sure on SHIELD. Hopefully, it gets another season because of corporate synergy, but given that IIRC they've written this season to be their last if it gets a good ending, I'm more than happy to let it go out on a high. The Expanse has simply been among the best genre programming in a while and I like to think that the only reason why it hasn't been renewed yet is because we're in the middle of a season. Legion on the other hand - despite it being one of the most unique shows and the best comic book show on television at the moment, looks like it's a goner - but FX might keep it around for one more season to keep gifted showrunner Noah Hawley happy so there's reason to be optimistic there. Even if the extended episode count may mean it's getting ready for the end.

JN: Given Timeless’s continued declining ratings, I can’t really see NBC saving the show for the second time, so I’m pretty sure fans aren’t going to be too happy with the show’s impending cancellation. Another show on the bubble that may be cut is Lucifer. Despite FOX renewing The Gifted, which had lower ratings, I’m not sure if this supernatural procedural will get a fourth season. While it wouldn’t be the craziest thing the network has done – FOX did renew Scream Queens for a second season after all – I think it really depends on how strong the pilots are.

4. Jefferey Tambor is sneaking his way into Arrested Development Season 5 after getting booted out of Transparent. Thoughts? Is it too early for him to return? And what does this say about "all the changes" happening?

LS: It would be pretty difficult to have a season of AD without the patriarch. That being said, it’s going to be rather difficult for me to enjoy the season. He was probably already filming it before the news came to light, so I don’t know about it being too soon. Hopefully, his role got reduced. That’s about all I can say. Though I am still intrigued about where this 5th season will go.

SJ: Granted I haven't watched past maybe the first 2 episodes of Arrested Development since as much as I tried it just didn't wow me, but considering it took one of their Executives being caught on camera making comments about Danny Masterson's rape allegations for Netflix to actually fire him? Keeping Jeffrey Tambor on Arrested Development doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I don't think it's the right message to be sending at all, and somewhat flies in the face of the good work the Me Too movement has been trying to achieve.

AB: I don't condone what Jeffrey Tambor has done in the slightest, but I think filming for Arrested Development had either finished or was close to finishing when the allegations surfaced and at that point, especially with the cast's schedules, I think Netflix wouldn't have wanted to throw away a whole season's worth of filming and then have the writers rewrite the entire season around him. Netflix hasn't exactly had the best track record with these things (looking at you Danny Masterson) so I'm really not surprised that Jeffrey Tambor will be there. Whilst I really don't agree with him being in the season, and I think it's showcasing someone who doesn't deserve it, I thought everyone knew he would be in it because of BTS photos of filming season 5. I'm not surprised but that doesn't make it okay just because I suspected it was going to happen.

JH: 'm pretty positive that filming wrapped on the show when the allegations started, so I'm not surprised by this, nor am I upset about it. He's undoubtedly a large part of the show so simply cutting his parts would not be an option, and cancelling the entire season because of one man's new reputation would be unfair to everyone else who worked so hard to make the season come together. If they do end up making the sixth season, I would expect him not to be there, or only in the first episode or so for them to kill off the character. We'll see what the future may hold!

MI: To be honest, this has kind of killed my anticipation a lot for Season 5. I will check it out because of the rest of the cast and the show itself, but seeing Tambor in this again sucks and I'm no longer as keen for a revival as I was before.
Titled The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, the film is being touted on posters in Cannes, alongside other major franchise titles "coming soon" from the action specialists, including Angel Has Fallen, The Expendables 4, Rambo V and Mechanic 3.

While no script is yet available, The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is described in the Cannes market catalog as "The Good. The Bad. And the Batshit cray." Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson are believed to be reprising their roles, although the casting hasn't been confirmed, while Patrick Hughes is thought to be returning to the director's chair.
TBS Renews Epic Space Romp "Final Space" for Second Season

Network's Youngest-Skewing Original Series Has Reached More Than 20 Million Viewers

Chookity Pok! TBS has renewed its original animated series Final Space for a second season. Born from a seven-minute pilot created by "Tennessee wonder child" Olan Rogers, the intergalactic space saga is TBS' youngest- skewing original series to debut on the network, reaching more than 20 million viewers across TBS' linear, VOD and digital platforms. The series pick-up is the latest in a string of renewals for the network, which saw every original series renewed for additional seasons in the last year.

Final Space is created by Olan Rogers, an independent filmmaker, actor, comedian and entrepreneur with close to a million YouTube subscribers. Rogers starred in season one alongside Fred Armisen, Tom Kenny, David Tennant, Tika Sumpter, Steven Yeun and Coty Galloway. Rogers and David Sacks are writers and executive producers for the TBS original, which is produced by Conan O'Brien's Conaco, New Form and in association with Turner's Studio T.

Unapologetic with Aisha Tyler - Dietland Aftershow Announced by AMC

AMC GREENLIGHTS "DIETLAND" COMPANION TALK SHOW, "UNAPOLOGETIC WITH AISHA TYLER"

Series Airs Mondays Beginning June 4, Immediately Following Episodes of New Original Series "Dietland"

NEW YORK, NY - May 7, 2018 -- AMC announced today that it has greenlit a "Dietland" companion talk show, "Unapologetic with Aisha Tyler." Produced for AMC by Embassy Row ("Talking Dead," "Beyond Stranger Things," "Watch What Happens Live"), the unscripted series hosted by Tyler ("Criminal Minds," "Archer") will air live on Mondays beginning June 4, immediately following episodes of AMC's new original series "Dietland." The first episode of "Unapologetic with Aisha Tyler" will air on Monday, June 4 at 11:00 pm after two back-to-back episodes of "Dietland," and will then move to its regular weekly timeslot of 10:00 pm ET the following week. Unlike a conventional after show confined to the companion series itself, "Unapologetic" will feature Tyler leading a topical discussion around the broader, female-centric issues and themes that "Dietland" explores. Tyler will be talking with celebrity fans, series actors and producers, as well as relevant journalists, writers, comedians and other tastemakers. Embassy Row's Michael Davies and Amanda McPhillips serve as executive producers.

"'Dietland' is an incredibly well-timed series that focuses on a multitude of critical issues facing women today. We know 'Dietland' will be a launchpad for conversation and this companion series makes room for these important discussions to happen," said David Madden, president of original programming for AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. "We couldn't be happier to have the extraordinarily smart and talented Aisha Tyler leading the conversation for this series, which will be topical, issue-oriented, unfiltered and funny, just like its scripted sibling."

"The issues of identity, sexuality, body image and self-actualization raised in 'Dietland' are more urgent than ever. Our dynamic, rapidly evolving cultural climate demands a frank, no-holds-barred exchange about the ideas and questions raised by the book and series, and the real-world events and issues women face every day. I'm looking forward to expanding the #metoo conversation in funny, honest and engaging ways. It's about time," said Tyler.

Based on Sarai Walker's 2015 best-selling, critically acclaimed novel of the same name, "Dietland" is a wickedly funny and extraordinarily timed satire about Plum Kettle, a ghost-writer for the editor of one of New York's hottest fashion magazines. Struggling with self-image and fed up with how she's treated by her boss and society, Plum sets out on a wildly complicated road to self-awakening. At the same time, everyone is buzzing over news reports about men, accused of sexual abuse and assault, who are disappearing and meeting untimely, violent deaths. Plum finds herself in the middle of two warring factions - one sisterhood who may be responsible for the attacks on male harassers, and the other which preaches female empowerment. She straddles these two groups, trying to make sense of the changing world and her part in it.

The series stars Joy Nash ("The Mindy Project," "Twin Peaks") as Plum Kettle, and Golden Globe(R) and Emmy(R) Award-winner Julianna Margulies ("The Good Wife," "ER") as Kitty Montgomery. Marti Noxon ("Mad Men," "UnREAL,") serves as executive producer, writer, showrunner and directs multiple episodes on the series.

MOVIES: Peter Rabbit 2 - Sequel Announced; Coming 2020

Peter Rabbit will be up to old tricks again, and hopefully bring more lettuce, for Sony Pictures.

Off the surprise success of the CG/live-action hybrid, Sony has announced its intent to make a sequel, dating the next installment for Feb. 7, 2020. The movie will open March 27, 2020 in the United Kingdom. Will Gluck, who directed the first movie, will return to write and direct the sequel.

The movie, which saw James Corden voice the popular character from the Beatrix Potter books and also starred Domhnall Gleeson, proved to be an under-the-radar hit when it was released Feb. 8.

The movie grossed $115 million in the U.S. and is, per Sony, the studio’s biggest ever non-James Bond film in the UK, with a $55.7 million cume in that country, where it held the number one spot for four weeks in a row. It grossed $325 million worldwide.

The movie went after the same audience as Paddington 2, another CG/live-action movie that was based on an iconic British literary property. Paddington 2 has a 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes while Rabbit a 62 percent, but, as Sony boasted in its announcement, Rabbit surpassed the lifetime goal of both Paddington movies. (Despite universal acclaim, Paddington 2 made only $40 million in the US, and $225 million worldwide.)
Jessica Rothe is returning for the Christopher Landon-directed sequel as well as Israel Broussard. Fans could have guessed this, and there’s a lot out there, but this is certain now. In the first movie, Rothe’s sorority girl Tree Gelbman relives the day of her murder in Groundhog Day style. She ultimately tries to beat the time loop by discovering who her killer’s identity is. Broussard plays Carter, the cute guy Tree keeps waking up alongside. Landon has said in reports that the sequel will answer questions to the first installment’s endless time loop while Rothe has mentioned that part 2 will pick up where the first film left off in a Back to the Future-like style.
Promising news for one of ABC's comedy pilots: As the broadcast network starts mulling pickups for the 2018-19 season, Jimmy Kimmel is joining Man of the House.
Man of the House stars Alyson Hannigan and Leslie Bibb as dissimilar divorced sisters who move in together to raise their children. The pilot, a multi-/single-camera hybrid, is inspired by Pines' real life being raised by his mother and aunt. Kimmel and Short's Bradley is the lone male of the cast who juggles his life at home with the two matriarchs, a sister (Reece Caddell) and a cousin (Jenna Ortega) and the masculine word of football at school.
Roseanne star John Goodman and Chewing Gum creator Michaela Coel are among the A-list names to join Netflix and BBC drama Black Earth Rising.
The pair are to star in the series, which was initially known as The Forgiving Earth when it was commissioned last year, alongside Noma Dumezweni (Harry Potter & the Cursed Child), Harriet Walter (The Crown, Downton Abbey), Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Lucian Msamati (Taboo) and Abena Ayivor (A United Kingdom).
The story, which is set across the UK, Europe, Africa and the U.S., centers on Kate Ashby, played by Coel, who was rescued as a young child during the Rwandan genocide and adopted by Eve Ashby, played by Walter, a world class British prosecutor in international criminal law. Kate was raised in Britain and, now in her late twenties, she works as a legal investigator in the law chambers of Michael Ennis, played by Goodman. Written by Perrotta and to be directed by Nicole Holofcener, Mrs. Fletcher is about an empty-nest mom, Eve Fletcher (Hahn), and her college-student son, Brendan Fletcher (White), who embrace their newfound freedom with mixed results.
The pay cable network landed Ayer’s hot spec script in a competitive situation last November with a production commitment. While the project was not formally ordered to series, that was reportedly the intention at Starz, which is in the straight-to-series business. I hear Family Crimes already had a writers room up and running, with writers churning out scripts, and a casting director had been hired and working when Starz on Monday notified the producers of its decision not to move forward with the series, citing creative reasons. Former Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, Diego Luna (Narcos) and Emile Hirsch (The Chinese Widow) have joined the third and final season of Netflix’s Emmy-winning original series DreamWorks Trollhunters, from Oscar-winner Guillermo del Toro.

Maslany and Luna will voice Aja and Krel, two mysterious new students who unknowingly come to the aid of the Trollhunters team in the fight against Morgana. The duo will also reprise their roles and serve as the leads of the next installment in the Tales of Arcadia trilogy, DreamWorks 3 Below, set to debut on Netflix later this year.

Hirsch takes on the role of Jim Lake, Jr., originally voiced by the late Anton Yelchin. Yelchin completed his work on the first two seasons and a considerable portion of season three before his unexpected passing in 2016. Del Toro and his creative team found a unique way to incorporate a voice transition organic to the story and create a path for Hirsch, a dear friend of Yelchin’s ,to carry on his legacy and role. Yelchin’s performance has been left intact where possible and some portions have been merged with Hirsch’s performance to complete season three, according to Netflix and DreamWorks.
Season 5 to Be Structured Like Old Seasons
Thanks to 90sbaby for the heads up.

“Arrested Development” star Will Arnett tells Business Insider that when the beloved comedy returns to Netflix for its fifth season, the star-studded cast will spend “much more” time together on the screen.
The new season will be structured “much like the original broadcast series,” he added.

This time around, not only is the whole cast returning (“sadly, Jason Bateman has agreed to do it,” jokes Arnett), but Arnett tells us that the show will be structured in a wayt that’s similar to the original seasons. That means the cast will be appearing together and sharing more scenes, he hints, as opposed to season 4, which focused on one or two characters per episode.
Nearing Deal for Season 5
Thanks to 90sbaby for the heads up.

Yes, we have been down this road before, but this time it looks like it is finally happening: a deal for a fifth season of Emmy-winning comedy series Arrested Development on Netflix. Creator Mitch Hurwitz, Netflix and producing companies 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine TV had long expressed their full commitment to doing a fifth installment of the cult comedy. The main stumbling block had been signing the cast as all actors have other engagements.

“We are close,” Arrested Development executive producer Brian Grazer told Deadline at TCA, where Imagine TV is presenting two new Fox drama series, 24: Legacy and Shots Fired. “I think we found a way to create the compensation structure for all the actors and create a work matrix so they can still make movies and do other things and it will all integrate. So we are really close — I think within a couple of weeks at the most.”

It’s official: “Arrested Development” is coming back for Season 5 at Netflix, Variety has learned.

The streaming service has greenlit a much-anticipated fifth season of the family comedy, which is set to launch in 2018. Original creator Mitchell Hurwitz is back, along with the entire series regular cast, including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Alia Shawkat.

The fifth season news comes after much teasing from Netflix, Hurwitz and various cast members over the past few years, saying that a new season would be coming, but talent scheduling was delaying the renewal. After airing for three seasons on Fox from 2004-2006, the sitcom went to Netflix for a fourth season in 2013. The show never had significant broadcast ratings, but garnered widespread critical acclaim and was nominated for 25 Emmy Awards, winning six.

“In talks with Netflix we all felt that that stories about a narcissistic, erratically behaving family in the building business — and their desperate abuses of power — are really underrepresented on TV these days,” said Hurwitz in a comical statement on Wednesday. “I am so grateful to them and to 20th TV for making this dream of mine come true in bringing the Bluths, George Sr., Lucille and the kids; Michael, Ivanka, Don Jr., Eric, George-Michael, and who am I forgetting, oh Tiffany. Did I say Tiffany? — back to the glorious stream of life.”

Although Netflix declined to confirm/comment, TVLine has learned exclusively that Arrested Development‘s long-gestating fifth season will likely have a major prequel element, with potentially half of the action unfolding in flashbacks featuring much younger versions of all the principal characters (played by different actors).

The move, which an insider notes isn’t entirely set in stone, would go a long way in clearing Season 5’s major scheduling hurdle (i.e. corralling the insanely busy cast at the same time) without having to resort to Season 4’s polarizing standalone-character format. “More of the episodes can now include all of the original cast together, with lots of big group family scenes,” says a source.
-- Netflix sets dates for 6 new original series for Kids --

Beverly Hills, CA., July 28, 2015 -- Netflix, the world's leading Internet TV network, today announced premiere dates for several of its highly-anticipated upcoming series. All, sans Longmire, will be available globally upon release in all territories where Netflix is available:

Longmire - Thursday, September 10, 2015 (available in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand)

Based on the novels by bestselling author Craig Johnson, the fourth season premiere of Longmire picks up moments after season three’s exciting finale. Walt Longmire (series star Robert Taylor), having found out who was behind the murder of his wife, succumbs to his darker impulses and takes off in pursuit of the killer with murder on his mind. Meanwhile, Branch Connally (Bailey Chase), the deputy who Walt fired for erratic, violent behavior, believes he has already figured out who the real culprit is. But during his confrontation with this suspected killer, a gun goes off. Now the audience will finally learn what happened, and whether Walt can be stopped before he makes a fatal choice. The 10-episode fourth season stars Taylor, along with Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Riddick), Lou Diamond Phillips (Southland, La Bamba), Bailey Chase (Damages), Cassidy Freeman (Smallville) and Adam Bartley (Justified). Gerald McRaney (House of Cards) and Ally Walker (Sons of Anarchy) guest star in the upcoming season. Longmire is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Horizon Television. Hunt Baldwin (The Closer, Trust Me), John Coveny (The Closer, Trust Me), Greer Shephard (The Closer, Major Crimes, Nip/Tuck) and Michael M. Robin (The Closer, Major Crimes, Nip/Tuck) serve as executive producers.

Master of None - Friday, November 6, 2015

Based on the comedic viewpoints of Aziz Ansari, the show follows the personal and professional lives of Dev (Aziz Ansari), a 30-year-old actor in New York who has trouble deciding what he wants to eat, much less the pathway for the rest of his life. Ambitious, funny, cinematic, and both sweeping in scope and intensely personal, Dev's story takes him through subjects as diverse as the plight of the elderly, the immigrant experience, and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner. Ansari stars in and created the series with Alan Yang; both serve as executive producers alongside Mike Schur (Parks and Recreation), Dave Becky (Louie) and David Miner (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). The series also stars H. Jon Benjamin, Eric Wareheim, Lena Waithe, Noel Wells and Kelvin Yu and is produced by Universal TV and 3 Arts for Netflix.

NEW YORK – June 3, 2015 – For the first time ever, SHOWTIME will be offered over the internet as a stand-alone streaming service launching in early July, with Apple as its first partner. The stand-alone service will be called SHOWTIME, a brand already embraced by consumers as the home for cutting-edge original programming, sports and movies. The launch of SHOWTIME will coincide with the new seasons of the critically-acclaimed, hit series RAY DONOVAN and MASTERS OF SEX, premiering on Sunday, July 12th.

iPhone®, iPad®, iPod touch® and Apple TV® users will be able to subscribe to SHOWTIME as a stand-alone service on the SHOWTIME app anywhere in the U.S., for one monthly price ($10.99) to view on all Apple devices. To learn more about SHOWTIME, watch and share: http://s.sho.com/1FTryf8. Additional platforms and providers will be announced soon. The announcement was made today by Leslie Moonves, CBS Corporation’s President and Chief Executive Officer, and Matthew C. Blank, Chairman and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc.

“Going over-the-top means Showtime will be much more accessible to tens of millions of potential new subscribers,” said Moonves. “Across CBS, we are constantly finding new ways to monetize our programming by capitalizing on opportunities presented by technology. This works best when you have outstanding premium content – like we do at Showtime – and when you have a terrific partner like Apple – which continues to innovate and build upon its loyal customer base.”

“At Showtime, we’re excited to offer consumers the opportunity to subscribe in new ways, by simply having an internet connection,” said Blank. “Our intent is to make SHOWTIME available to viewers via every manner possible, giving them an enormous amount of choice in accessing our programming, starting with the season premieres of our award-winning series RAY DONOVAN and MASTERS OF SEX.”

“We’re excited to offer Apple customers SHOWTIME’s live channels and extensive on demand library of great TV shows and movies, without a cable or satellite subscription,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV customers will now be able to subscribe to SHOWTIME directly and instantly start viewing their favorite programming with the same simplicity as buying an app.”

Subscribers will have unlimited on demand access to every season of award-winning SHOWTIME original series, and hundreds of hours of movies, documentary and sports programming, as well as the live broadcast of the east and west coast feeds of SHOWTIME. Showtime will offer a 30-day free trial to new customers who sign up through Apple in July. Apple users simply need to go to the SHOWTIME app on their device to sign up and create a SHOWTIME account. Subscribers can use their SHOWTIME account to watch the service across all supported devices, as well as online at www.showtime.com.
Apple wanted to launch a subscription TV service in early fall to coincide with the start of the new broadcast television season. Every day 100's of items are submitted to us and we don't always have the time to make separate posts for the news and/or there is so much that it would quickly push all other items off the homepage.

So a result we've come up with the idea of the Newsreel, which will feature smaller shows and news items as they happen.

There will be a new Newsreel each day, and as news is added we will update the post and and push it back to the top of the site so that you can see that new items have been added. A tweet of the item will also be sent to our @SpoilerTV account.

New Items will be listed at the top of the article.

This will allow us to provide more news on more shows in a much more timely fashion
