Sadly the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans is coming to a close. Season 3 is the final season of A Series of Unfortunate Events and Klaus, Sunny, and Violet are in more dire straits than ever before.

Their story begins exactly where season 2 left off, in the aftermath of the fall of the Carnivorous Carnival, Klaus and Violet are left barreling down Mount Fraught in the caravan with poor little Sunny in the clutches of evil Count Olaf. Luckily they're able to save themselves when Violet creates a drop chute but it doesn't make their circumstances much better considering they're still stranded in a dangerous mountaintop.
Only a mysterious ally becomes their saving grace as they uncover the surviving triplet of the Quagmire fire. Quigley Quagmire is able to lead the Baudelaires to the mysterious VFD headquarters they've been tracking. If you recall from last season, the Baudelaiers have learned there is a fire survivor, which turned out to be Quigley, but they also believe one of their parents is still alive and working with the organization at present. But it's too late for them to find much at the headquarters as someone has already seen to it that the place be burned down in its entirety.

But through the combined brain power of Quigley, Violet, and Klaus, and Sunny's intuition to use the Verdant Signaling Device Olaf gives he (mistaking it for a dangerous cigarette) that they're able t track Sunny who has been placed in a tiny baby jail cave at the top peak of Mount Fraught. Except, like Mata Hari, Sunny wants to remain behind and spy on villains who have taken he captive. She's not a baby anymoe and has become quite brave, Violet taught her well.
For once, Olaf is not the most evil man afoot either as two of his mentors make a reappearance. They're known as the Man without Hair and the Woman without a Beard and it is their agenda that is the most sinister. They plan to kidnap the troupe of Snow Scouts that Quigley had infiltrated and then start fires in each of their homes to leave all of them orphans and steal their family fortunes. We also learn they were the ones responsible fo burning down the VFD headquarters.

By enlisting the help of their pet eagles, the evil duo are able to put their hideous plan into action as they successfully kidnap the Snow Scouts, sans Carmelita Spat, who has no qualms with betraying her group to become a part of Olaf and Esme's unorthodox family. He'll need the extra assistance as his group of henchmen finally decide they've had enough ill treatment and leave him behind. Only Hooky remains, but his allegiance to Olaf is wavering as he grows a fondness for Sunny.

When Violet, Sunny, Klaus, and Quigley are all reunited, it looks like Olaf may succeed in taking all of them captive again but Sunny is as smart as her sister and helps them escape down the slippery slope on a sled, one that pours them out over the icy tundra holding the Queequeg submarine. During their breakneck escape though, they lose Quigley who gets scooped up by a tree branch. The three of them promise to meet up later at the Last Safe Space where all VFD members are intending to meet on the upcoming Thursday.

Aboard the Queequeg the orphans meet Fiona who captains the ship because her stepfather disappeared and never returned after trying to capture a manatee. Unknown to the orphans, Fiona is actually the sister of the hook man henchman, who is actually named Fernal. Violet and Fiona butt heads about their current mission as Fiona wants to focus on finding the mythical sugar bowl and Violet wants to chart a course for the VFD meeting destination. Neither is able to come to fruition right away though as Olaf, Esme, Carmelita and Fernal catch up to them in a submarine with the appearance of an octopus.
Yet again, Klaus, Violet, and Sunny find themselves captives of Count Olaf and even worse this time is they're sent on a dangerous underwater mission to retrieve the sugar bowl (which Esme also wants) and instead Sunny comes into contact with an extremely poisonous mushroom, the Medusoid Mycelium. Fiona is actually a well-read mycologist but they have no way of getting to her until Fernal, having a soft spot for Sunny, helps the orphans to escape.

The only antidote for Medusoid Mycelium is horseradish or a substitute, wasabi, which Sunny points out and the orphans are able to rescue her. They also save the mushroom by shutting it inside the diver helmet Sunny was wearing and offering it to Fiona to study. But it ends up in Count Olaf's hands when he ends up boarding the Queequeg and taking everyone captive. Or so it would appear. Fiona does aide in letting the Baudelaires escape whilst also imparting on them an important lesson about the nature of human morality. People aren't so easily definable as noble or evil, they often offer far more shades of grey than the simplistic balance of scales would imply.

With Violet now in command of the Queequeg, she charts a course for a shore nearest the VFD meeting place, the Hotel Denouement (which was discovered by a telegraph). They wind up back on Briny Beach, the place where it all begins, and they meet up with Poe and Kit Snicket. Once again arriving at a crossroads as they must choose which adult to trust and in this instant, the orphans decide to break the cycle and journey with Kit.

Throughout the season, we've watched Kit's own struggles parallel with the orphans as she was also on Mount Fraught, attempting to escape the dreaded Woman with Hair and No Beard and the Man without Hair and a Beard with the sugar bowl. But Kit lost it during her treacherous escape plan. We learn about Kit's relationship to Lemony, the Baudelaire parents (Beatrice and Bertrand), and Count Olaf himself.

Prior to the conclusion of Kit's story, she is able to deliver the Baudelaire orphans to Hotel Denouement, the supposed meeting place of the VFD members and the Last Safe Place. As so often is the case with the Baudelaires, they meet someone who will be of genuine help, Dewey Denouement, the mysterious triplet of the evil Frank and Ernest, (all played by Max Greenfield), and he shows them the secret library under the reflective pool. He meets his demise at the end of a harpoon gun during an accidental misfiring when Olaf and the orphans drop the gun.
This unfortunate incident comes into play when we learn the mysterious J.S., who is behind orchestrating this entire meeting filled with familiar faces from all three seasons of the show, is none other than Justice Strauss. She intends to put Olaf behind bars by putting him on trial in the hotel lobby but Olaf hoodwinks the trial and also ticks the orphans to being on the stand.

Yet another schism occurs between the VFD members when half of them choose to believe the orphans are evil and the other half believe Olaf is. The chaos created gives Olaf his chance to escape with the orphans once more as the Hotel is burned to the ground as a diversion and to keep Olaf from releasing the deadly Medusoid Mycelium.

But the mushrooms do wrought death and carnage, just not at the hotel. They play a focal point at the orphans next destination, a strange deserted island lead by a bearded man named Ishmael. Once released, the Baudelaires are able to find a cure for the fungi on the island after Kit arrives ashore. She finally tells them what is in the legendary sugar bowl.

Sugar. But special sugar that immunizes the consumer against the effects of Medusoid Mycelium. Despite having no sugar on the island, the Baudelaires deduce there parents would have come up with a back-up plan, one of the apples and save themselves. But they're too late to save either Olaf or Kit, who both fall victim to the fungi. Olaf dies on the island beside Kit and Kit is able to give birth to her daughter, but leaves her an orphan as she dies soon after.

The orphans name her after their mother, Beatrice, and together they heal and grow on the island before eventually moving on to their next great adventure.

In the future, we see a final scene with an older Beatrice meeting Lemony Snicket himself and telling him the story of the orphans and their journey from the island, including a toil with Female Finnish pirates.

FINAL VERDICT

Season 3 of A Series of Unfortunate Events it the best season yet. It's well-paced, always exciting and as colorful a world as ever with even more intriguing characters being introduced to flesh out the tale of the Baudelaires. Plus every character gets more depth, even the villains, making the line between "good and evil" blur ever further, which is a main theme of the series.

Plus, the show is able to finally give us some definite answers that long-time fans will be satisfied with after missing out from the books.

ODDS & ENDS

- I need a spin-off series with Lucy Punch as Esme Squalor.

- Both Patrick Warburton, Allison Williams, and Morena Baccarin will so excellent as Beatrice, Lemony, and Kit. The child actors as well, were all phenomenal. I think this show did such an excellent job with both casting and production design. It was such a treat to watch this as someone who grew up with these books I'll miss it but I'm beyond happy with the final product.

A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS - THE FINAL SEASON

Advance preview by Gavin Hetherington

Alas - it is upon us, the final season of Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events! Look away, for you do not want to watch this miserable end of the Baudelaire story. Hehe. Actually, you do, of course, because this has been one of the most entertaining series of recent years. If you're like me, you love that this Netflix show has been a faithful adaptation of Lemony Snicket's popular book series of the same name, and this third and final season is no different. Adapting the final four books in the series - The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril, and The End - season three continues the Baudelaire story in the way we expect from the writers, in the same dire, charming, and ultimately compelling way the first two seasons did.

"Please, this isn't some over-exaggerated melodrama."

The first two episodes - The Slippery Slope - resolves that literal cliffhanger from the season two finale straight away. We are introduced to some new characters, as well as some fan favourites from season two, setting off a great tone for this season. We see the strains of friendship and some surprising returns and reveals all in the very first couple of episodes. I have to hand it to Hooky, he proves he's a very worthy character, not just in this episode but it continues in the next episodes too. Some exciting things to look forward to in the first two episodes are the new characters, finding out the survivor of the fire, reaching V.F.D. headquarters, a mountain climbing expedition, important discoveries, and a mountaintop standoff that ends badly. All in all, a very strong start to the season.

"It's not fire, it's fashion."

The next two episodes - The Grim Grotto - continues the adventures in very unique settings. Another thing I love about this series in general is that we have so many different locations, and the Grim Grotto has some great sets. The Baudelaires are picked up by a submarine, the Queequeg, and its strange captain. Being deep below the surface of the sea delivers some of the show's creepier moments, but this also proves to be an important episode as some things that happen will have consequences in the final few episodes. Count Olaf is still on the heels of the children, with Esmé and Carmelita in tow (they really amp up their hilarious villainy). Some of the funniest lines and fashion moments happen in these episodes, and some of the exciting things to look forward to here are the incredible settings, Esmé's choice of dress, caverns of deadly mushrooms, unlikely allies, shocking betrayals, as well as a twist in fortune at the end of the second part.

"Is it safe to eat raw toast?"

The Penultimate Peril is a frustrating experience in that you know the Baudelaire children have come so far and yet they still have so far to go. These are the most hopeful episodes of the series, with the returns of Justice Strauss, Jerome Squalor, Nero Feint and more, and I have to say, out of all the episodes in season three, this one packed quite a punch. I really can't say much without spoiling this one (unless you've read the books already, then you'll know what I mean). The children are now working in a hotel where many people from their past have come for the trial of Count Olaf - which is bonkers, from beginning to end, but with some emotional moments for the children. Honestly, the performances of the main characters - Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes - really solidifies the turmoil they've gone through the past three seasons, that even though this show can be ridiculous at times, there's still a huge amount of heart. So much to look forward to in these episodes, including more answers on Kit Snicket, a dose of espionage, so many returning faces, more death, Count Olaf's trial, and the Baudelaires having their day in court.

"I don't care about some late-series backstory."

We all know how the story goes - we want a happy ending, but this is A Series of Unfortunate Events. The final episode stays true to the spirit of Snicket, and I would like to point out that The End is not a super-sized episode, it's only 51 minutes long, and it's not the longest episode of the season. However, the final episode does well to give us an ending for the children, with some satisfaction sprinkled in along the way. We end up on a small island, inhabited by people led by Ishmael, perfectly played by Peter MacNicol. I loved the island setting, it was beautiful but it also had this sinister undercurrent to it. We have some great flashbacks and answers to series-long questions and backstory that makes this final episode a satisfying one, even if there are still lots of answers left to be discovered. Some of the things to look forward to in this series finale are the beautiful tropical island and the mysteries it holds, old friends, more death, and an ending that feels right for this series.

For fans of the book series, there may not be very many surprises for you, and that's okay because the final season beautifully continues the world of Snicket and the unfortunate orphans. You'll be happy to know this is a faithful season that will satisfy loyal fans of both the books and the show. I was still left begging for more, but we all knew what we were getting ourselves into when we first played that pilot episode. I'm going to miss Neil Patrick Harris's performance as Count Olaf, and he continues to add dimension to his villain even in this final hour, and the devotion and detail by the crew has left me so incredibly happy with this final outing. For fans of the TV series alone, you will get some big answers like who survived the fire, what's the big deal with the sugar bowl, why is Count Olaf the way he is, and so much more. What I love most about the third season is that it continues the cinematic scope of the series so that you could watch every single episode, from The Bad Beginning in season one, to The End in season three, and feel like you're watching one mega-long movie. It's been epic.

It was hard to keep most of my feelings inside for this one, and there's so much to talk about for this season of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Be sure to tune into Netflix when the entire season premieres on January 1st, and I hope you all have a miserable (but totally incredible) time watching it - I know I did.

Based on the internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler), the third and final season of the Peabody award-winning Netflix original premieres worldwide January 1, 2019. Starring Emmy and Tony Award-winner Neil Patrick Harris, A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans – Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil uncle Count Olaf (Harris) will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. After foiling his many dastardly plans and disguises, the young siblings might finally discover the truth about their parents’ mysterious death, while unraveling the layers of a clandestine organization, and revealing the secrets of the coveted, missing sugar bowl.
The world of Baudelaire children is a dark and dangerous one. That’s probably what makes it even more incredible that translating such a tragic story into a TV series could turn out to be a truly entertaining experience. And it absolutely was for me. From the breathtaking cinematography, through the attention to the smallest of details to the wonderful performances by the cast, led by Neil Patrick Harris. It was one of the best performances of the last season and Count Olaf’s character ended up being even more nefarious than on the pages of the books.

Speaking of them, when I first heard of the idea for the show I decided to read the entire book series I once stumbled upon years ago. It became pretty clear early on that it’s not a simple story to transfer on the screen. One of the most characteristic and interesting aspects of the books is the narrator who also happens to be one of the main characters of the story. His comments and involvement provide us with a closer look at the background, history and even the future events in the life of Baudelaire children and everyone they encounter. The author’s constant “interruptions” in the books, requests to take a step back and search for a more cheerful story to read, they offer a series a different outlook than most and are not easily copied. So even though it can’t be quite the same on the show, I still enjoyed Lemony Snicket’s presence during these eight episodes and all the great quotes and life lessons he shares with the viewers.

The one thing that was never such a significant aspect of the books but opens a new door to that world on the show are the events happening around the children but not directly to them. In the Netflix series we are invited to take a closer look at a secret society that takes an interest in the children’s fate and we follow the actions of several of its members as they work in the background to help and protect the Baudelaire family from Count Olaf. While we do not know the details or their motivations, the addition of such characters provides a more mysterious plot to the series and actively engages the viewer to pay attention. Without adding any spoilers for the books, I just want to say that I’m happy to hear and learn more about this “spy” organization and despite all the tragedies, it still seems like the presence of these people offers some hope for these kids lost in the dangerous world.

What surprised me the most about the show was the plot involving Mother and Father trying to find their way back to their children. The series makes the viewers believe that they’re the Baudelaire parents, but knowing that there was no such reunion at Lucky Smells Lumbermill in the books, I was very interested to see where this story leads to. I really liked this addition, I have to admit, it was a mystery for all to solve, something unexpected with great actors to carry the story and make things more meaningful. Of course in the end their kids become quite an important new chapter in Baudelaire siblings’ life, as signaled by the finale scene of the season. But still, that ending of episode seven, when the reunion between parents and children takes place… Even though I knew it couldn’t be true, it was still heartbreaking to realize that the meeting was not meant for Baudelaire kids. Really well done on the creators’ part.

Now for the rest of the characters. Count Olaf, Mr. Poe, Justice Strauss, Uncle Monty, Aunt Josephine, Sir and Charles – all the children’s guardians, so fundamentally different making each of their stories bring new challenges and experiences for the Baudelaire siblings.

First there’s Mr. Poe, the family banker of the Baudelaire parents who is tasked with finding them a good home. Even though from the outside he might seem like a nice man doing his best to support the kids, I’m quite certain he’s one of the worst people for this job. In fact, he’s greedy, pretty cold with severe lack of compassion and understanding when it comes to the children’s needs. And as if that wasn’t enough, he’s not nearly as smart as he believes to be. He misses the most obvious disguises of Count Olaf and the dangers the Baudelaire kids have to face. Knowing that he’s the one constant in their life at this point is honestly one of the saddest news for them. And let’s not even get to his wife… Violet: “Can't you see that? Anyone can see that.” Sunny: “Except Mr. Poe, of course.”

Justice Strauss and Uncle Monty, on the other hand, are surprisingly good options for Klaus, Violet and Sunny. Unfortunately they both get easily tricked by Count Olaf and are not able to protect the kids the way they would want to. They did truly care about them, though. And in this case, that means the world for these three orphans. If they could have stayed and lived with either of these two, the kids might actually get some peace, hope and love they needed so much in their story. Sadly, Justice Strauss lacks confidence and courage to fight to stay with them and they have to part ways. And Uncle Monty… his ending is one of the saddest on the show so far. And he also happened to be a favorite of mine. The beautiful and brilliant “Reptile Room” was quite a highlight of season one and this character is one of the reasons for that. The short life the Baudelaire children shared with Uncle Monty was something they really needed and hoped for. His death was absolutely heartbreaking and their reactions said it all. Klaus’ quote about Dr. Montgomery Montgomery, when they need to say goodbye and leave the house gets me every time. “He was more than that. He was much, much more than appropriate.” Yes, he loved them. It makes sense that Uncle Monty would be different than the others. He’s the one the Baudelaire parents chose as their children’s guardian in case of their death, after all.

As for Aunt Josephine, I was never a fan of the character, in both the book and the show. She used to be an incredible person, it would seem, but when we meet her all her fears completely took over her life and that strong and brave friend of the Baudelaire family is long gone. The wonderful Alfre Woodard does a great job with the character’s portrayal but Aunt Josephine’s house is not a good stop on the kids’ journey. I was surprised by her last-minute change, though. It was the only time I actually believed she might have cared about the children, but it was simply too late to change anything. Meanwhile, Sir and Charles are quite an interesting duo. Hard to believe two people so different can actually work as a couple. But despite their few interactions, it seems like they surprisingly do. Sir is no friend of the children, or people to be honest. He uses the workers at his Lumbermill to earn money but gives them nothing, really nothing, in return. It’s cruel, unjust and not right in any way. Charles is clearly the one with actual empathy and he offers the children some support when they find themselves at the mill. But again, it’s too little and he’s not even willing to take a stand in the end. Yes, he’s kind to them and wants to help. But is that truly enough?

Finally, let’s talk for a moment about Count Olaf and his theatre troupe. They’re clearly not good people, but at the very least their motives are known. And Olaf is actually smarter (and more nefarious) than one might assume. As I already mentioned before, Neil Patrick Harris truly captures the powerful, strange and cruel nature of the character. He’s absolutely brilliant on the show and brings so much life to the story. Each of his (terrible) disguises provides a new opportunity to see through the dangerous plan and actions of the deadly group and the actor is just so good in all the little things that make this character so uniquely memorable. Count Olaf is certainly not just another villain in the story.

Last, but definitely not least, I have yet to mention more about Klaus, Violet and Sunny. And these children are the main reason why there’s so many chapters of the series and it’s worth to follow their story. There’s an impossible aspect of the Baudelaire siblings’ life and it’s not just all the tragedies that follow them on every step. It’s the simple fact that they’re absolutely brilliant and unique, and their talents go far beyond their age and surroundings. Violet’s an inventor, quite a master of mechanics, Klaus’ knowledge and understanding of the many, many books he’s read in his quite short life offer the kids solutions more often than we might think and finally Sunny, even though she can’t even talk yet, she says and knows so much, and her teeth are unnaturally strong. These three together can achieve the impossible and even though they’re alone in the darkness, their hope and strength comes from each other. As long as they’re together, there’s not a thing they can’t face and that’s where the heart of the story truly lies for me. Can’t wait to see the rest of the show and what new surprises and brilliance awaits the viewers there.
After the first show, I felt kinda nauseous. I threw up a little but it didn’t seem to help. Then I started sweating buckets and my chest felt heavy. Turns out I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life at the #glendale hospital told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (also known as “the Widow-Maker” because when it goes, you’re a goner). If I hadn’t canceled the second show to go to the hospital, the Doc said I would’ve died tonight. For now, I’m still above ground! But this is what I learned about myself during this crisis: death was always the thing I was most terrified of in life. When the time came, I never imagined I’d ever be able to die with dignity - I assumed I’d die screaming, like my Dad (who lost his life to a massive heart attack). But even as they cut into my groin to slip a stent into the lethal Widow-Maker, I was filled with a sense of calm. I’ve had a great life: loved by parents who raised me to become the individual I am. I’ve had a weird, wonderful career in all sorts of media, amazing friends, the best wife in the world and an incredible daughter who made me a Dad. But as I stared into the infinite, I realized I was relatively content. Yes, I’d miss life as it moved on without me - and I was bummed we weren’t gonna get to make #jayandsilentbobreboot before I shuffled loose the mortal coil. But generally speaking, I was okay with the end, if this was gonna be it. I’ve gotten to do so many cool things and I’ve had so many adventures - how could I be shitty about finally paying the tab. But the good folks at the Glendale hospital had other plans and the expertise to mend me. Total strangers saved my life tonight (as well as my friends @jordanmonsanto & @iamemilydawn, who called the ambulance). This is all a part of my mythology now and I’m sure I’ll be facing some lifestyle changes (maybe it’s time to go Vegan). But the point of this post is to tell you that I faced my greatest fear tonight... and it wasn’t as bad as I’ve always imagined it’d be. I don’t want my life to end but if it ends, I can’t complain. It was such a gift. #KevinSmith

A post shared by Kevin Smith (@thatkevinsmith) on Feb 26, 2018 at 1:41am PST

Last year, Netflix renewed A Series of Unfortunate Events for a second and a third season that would adapt the remaining novels of Lemony Snicket's (aka Daniel Handler) 13-book series (Season 1 covered the first four). Many speculated that this would conclude the series, since the source material would be spent and thus the story of the Baudelaire orphans and Count Olaf would be complete. Now producer and star Neil Patrick Harris has confirmed that plan.

"We're three seasons all in," Harris tells TV Guide.

There will be some new faces in Westport this season. As Katie Otto (Katy Mixon) and the rest of the Otto family continue to grow in the upcoming season 2 of ABC’s American Housewife, the various children will be drawn in different directions. Oliver (Daniel DiMaggio) still wants to be rich, so he’s focused on befriending a new wealthy neighbor. EW can exclusively confirm that this neighbor will be played by actor George Hamilton.

“He’s playing a rich neighbor who comes out of prison and moves back into his house,” showrunner Sarah Dunn tells EW. “Oliver is going to befriend him. So that’s fun.”

Oliver’s siblings will also be going through their own struggles, as Taylor (Meg Donnelly) begins her driver’s license training and Anna-Kat (Julia Butters) seeks some independence away from her doting mother. Their brother, however, still has his eyes on the prize.
Showrunner Clyde Phillips (Dexter) has exited the drama after joining the Billy Bob Thornton starrer for season two. He will be replaced by exec producer Lawrence Trilling, who worked on season one of the series.

Sources say Phillips — who replaced David E. Kelley as the day to day showrunner on the series — and his writing team had written all 10 episodes of season two with Amazon and Thornton both signing off on scripts.

The creative rift happened after Thornton, sources say, was unhappy with how the season two premiere turned out. Production on the series was shut down and Phillips opted to step down rather than re-arc the entire season. Sources note the first four episodes of season two had been completed and were in editing. The season two premiere is now being rewritten and reshot and three episodes will be scrapped, bringing the season tally to seven. Production will resume Wednesday.
Written by Dan Kopelman, Me, Myself & I stars Bobby Moynihan in a comedy about the defining moments in one man’s life over three distinct periods — as a 14-year-old in 1991 (Jack Dylan Grazer), at age 40 in present day (Moynihan) and at age 65 in 2042 (John Larroquette).

Begley will play Governor Justin, the future version of Alex Riley’s step-brother. In 1991, the teenage Justin (Christopher Richards) is constantly coming up with half-baked schemes that end in spectacular failure. Fifty-one years later, he’s the Governor of California.

Mowry will play Wendy, the wife of Darryl (Jaleel White). Wendy totally relates to present-day Alex Riley’s (Moynihan) frustration over missing out on his daughter’s formative experiences. For example, if anyone took her daughter to Disneyland for the first time, she’d be furious as well — not realizing that her husband had done just that.
It helmer Andy Muschietti has recruited the film’s Jackson Robert Scott for one of the young leads opposite Frances O’Connor in Locke & Key, Hulu’s one-hour horror/fantasy drama adaptation of the IDW comic by Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez. The pilot comes from Hill, Carlton Cuse and IDW Entertainment.

Written by Hill and directed by Muschietti, Locke & Key revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine with their mother Nina (O’Connor) only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.

Scott will play Bode Locke, the youngest of the Locke family. Filled with all the optimism and imagination of an exuberant eight-year-old, Bode is especially attuned to the supernatural possibilities of Keyhouse… and especially vulnerable to the unnatural forces circling his family.

Less than a month after Netflix announced a Season 2 pickup for A Series of Unfortunate Events, TVLine has learned exclusively that the streamer has quietly renewed the dark comedy for a third season. (A Netflix spokesperson declined to comment.)
Looks like the show was quietly renewed.

What’s next for you?

I am deep in season 2. I’ve been working in my own dining room with a team of writers I’m really loving on the next season, and we hope to get the go-ahead to do season 3, which… given how quickly young actors age and change, we’re trying to film everything as quickly as possible. The second season is laid out to be 10 episodes for the next five books, so it ends on The Carnivorous Carnival, and the third season would be the rest of it.
