Scene Of The Week - September 10, 2017 + POLL

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: CULT, "Election Night", September 5, 2017, Actors: Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and more, The Scenes: The grocery store sequence & Ally breaks down & The Clowns attack
Max:
The entire grocery store sequence. I think it's the most uneasy this series has made me feel since certain scenes with Dandy back in 'Freak Show'. As soon as the cashier put on the Trump hat, things got dark... add in a gang of terrifying clowns, some fantastically frantic direction, and a haunting score, and the scene was easily my favourite of the week.
Samantha: Ally breaks down as the election results are confirmed. This scene was basically me when I woke the morning after the election.
DarkUFO: The Clowns attack and kill Ally's neighbours which her son witnesses.

SOMEWHERE BETWEEN, "Destiny's Child", September 5, 2017, Actors: Devon Sawa, Paula Patton, The Scene: Nico refuses to give Laura the necklace
Samantha:
I have a serious love/hate relationship with this show, and this is the first episode where I haven't been yelling at the screen & actually enjoyed watching. It was a heart pounding episode that culminated in Nico refusing to hand the necklace over so he can save his brother's life, which could result in Serena dying. It was a decision that shocked me, but at the same time one I completely understood. Yes, saving Serena has been the mission from the get-go, but Nico's relationship with his brother changed when Danny revealed he was covering for Nico. He doesn't want his niece & mum to be left brokenhearted by Danny's death, which was evident in Nico's reaction to his mum's heart attack.

SUITS, "Shame", September 6, 2017, Actors: Rick Hoffman, Jake Epstein, The Scene: Louis baby-sits Brian's baby
Emmaline:
Louis shows up at the apartment of an associate he's been particularly hard on to help watch his newborn and let the associate get some sleep. It was great to see Louis - who always calls the associates his "children" - actually treat one as such and serve as babysitter for the night. If Louis isn't going to have children of his own like he's always wanted, maybe this is how he can find happiness - as loving father to his associates and pseudo grandpa to their kids.

TEEN WOLF, "Triggers", September 3, 2017, Actors: Holland Roden, J.R. Bourne and more, The Scene: Lydia comes to Scott and Malia's rescue
Justyna:
Finally I'm all caught up with Teen Wolf and even though I still very much miss Stiles' presence I am quite enjoying the season. It often seems like Lydia's character is on a separate journey than the rest of the pack and she doesn't get many opportunities to show her power and protect her friends. Which is probably why I really liked her entrance in this episode when she breaks down the door and saves Scott and Malia. While these two get to share another moment, Lydia and Argent are working together to get them out safely. I'm also glad we're getting quite a few great scenes with Chris and him with Lydia proved to be quite a good team. And they made me think of Allison... Anyway, I wanted to highlight this scene because it's such a heroic moment for Lydia and I always enjoy seeing her showing just how strong and powerful she can be. Kudos!

THE BOLD TYPE, "Carry the Weight", September 5, 2017, Actors: Melora Hardin and more, The Scene: Jacqueline takes over the weights and tells her story
Marko:
Melora Hardin delivered an exceptional performance showing so much strength and emotion in this scene. The strength Jacqueline proved was truly inspiring as she didn't let the past define who she is or who she'll become. The level of maturity this show shows week after week really impressed me and this week was no exception.
Luana: Jacqueline takes the scales. This moment was so powerful, this amazing woman we've all come to admire admitting she'd gone through something like that, in front of so many people, finally willing to open up, and show that it doesn't have to stop you. It was somehow heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. This show has done everything right and it needs to be renewed.

THE SINNER, "Part VI", September 6, 2017, Actors: Jessica Biel, Bill Pullman, The Scenes: Cora asks Harry to take her to the club & Cora and Harry go back to the house where she was held captive
Samantha:
Cora asks Harry to take her to the club. This was yet another excellent episode and The Sinner really is getting better every week. Cora & Harry are building up a sort of rapport which I hope stays platonic, because there's absolutely no need for it to become romantic. This conversation was a great follow-up to last week, with Cora asking Harry to take her back to the club in the hope she remembers something, which he's reluctant to do & Cora knows he's giving up on her. He denies it and Cora pleads with him, saying he's done more for her than anyone else in her life & it sparks Harry back into action.
DarkUFO: Cora and Harry go back to the house where she was held captive.
Luana: Harry finds Cora and they go downstairs. For a second you could see the panic in Harry's face, fearing he might have messed up by helping Cora, but the change in his expression when he found her there, standing still in terror, it's transparent how he goes from angry that she didn't follow his instructions to worried about her, almost like a parent. Pullman and Biel continue to kill it on this show, we can only eagerly await what comes next.

YOU'RE THE WORST, "It's Been", September 6, 2017, Actors: Kether Donohue, Desmin Borges, The Scenes: Edgar and Lindsay realize they're the serious ones & Lindsay's opening montage
Luana:
Edgar and Lindsay realize they're the serious ones now. That moment was hilarious and Edgar was so awesome imitating Jimmy. It's nice that the tables have turned and it will probably create some new dynamic when Jimmy and Gretchen go back to "normal".
Max: Lindsay's opening montage at her new job, which fantastically ends with her eating someone else's spaghetti with her hands.

YOUNGER, "It's Love, Actually", September 6, 2017, Actors: Sutton Foster, Aasif Mandvi, The Scene: Liza breaks down
Marko:
As a long time Charles and Liza shipper the current will they / won't they is really pissing me off. Still, Sutton Foster was phenomenal throughout the whole outing with all the little twitches and sighs. But the final moment when she broke down in front of Jay left me with teary eyes and a broken heart.
