04:10 - Last Man Standing - Will Not Be Revived by CMT
Thanks to Chris for the heads up.

It was considered too long of a shot for fans of Last Man Standing to get their hopes up, and I hear now it’s final — CMT won’t be picking up canceled ABC comedy series Last Man Standing a new season. CMT, which carries reruns of the Tim Allen-starring sitcom, had engaged in conversations with the studio behind Last Man Standing, 20th Century Fox TV, about possibly ordering original episodes. The talks were only preliminary, exploring the financial feasibility of producing the series for CMT, which would’ve involved virtually everyone on the show taking a pay cut. I hear in the end, the two sides could not agree on the numbers.

20:25 - Loosely Exactly Nicole - Facebook Nearing Deal to Revive Nicole Byer's Cancelled MTV Comedy

Facebook has lined up one of the first series in its push to bulk up on original video programming.

The social media giant is near a deal to revive Nicole Byer vehicle Loosely Exactly Nicole for a second season, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. The news comes four months after the scripted comedy was canceled after one low-rated season on MTV. Facebook and producers Jax Media declined comment.

Additional details about the project remain closely guarded as Facebook preps an expected summer launch for its video slate.

The decision to revive Loosely Exactly Nicole reunites Byer with Mina Lefevre, who developed the series during her tenure as executive vp at MTV. She exited the Viacom network in February before moving to Facebook as head of development. MTV canceled the series in February as the cabler, under new president Chris McCarthy, refines its focus on scripted programming. (MTV also canceled critical darling Sweet/Vicious and pot comedy Mary + Jane.)

Loosely Exactly Nicole will be among the tentpole projects that Facebook uses to lure viewers to its new video tab. It's an effort that began six months ago with the hiring of CollegeHumor founder Ricky Van Veen as global head of creative strategy to jump-start Facebook's video ecosystem.

Facebook is lining up two types of programming for its video tab, according to sources familiar with their plans. They include shortform series from digital producers such as BuzzFeed and Vox Media and a handful of signature, television-quality series that Facebook is calling "hero" projects. For those top-tier shows, Facebook is said to be looking to spend about six figures per episode for full ownership, which would give it the ability to release them to its global audience of 1.9 billion monthly active users. Terms of its expected deal for for Loosely Exactly Nicole are unclear.

Richard Kind has been cast in the guest starring role of Benny Konopka in Electric Entertainment’s series “The Librarians,” which will run for a fourth season on TNT this winter.

Driven by their radical beliefs, the 300-year-old sect of the Roman Catholic Church is focused on bringing about the return of the Dark Ages. Only to do so, they must first destroy the Library.

And that isn’t all that Flynn, Eve, and the gang will be faced with. Nichols will recur as Nicole Noone, a skilled fighter and Flynn’s previous guardian, who he’d thought perished 13 years ago (and before the start of the series). Stargate Universe Cliffhanger to be Resolved in Comics
Thanks to Michelle for the heads up.

Six years ago, the Stargate television franchise went dark with a cliffhanger in the final episode of Stargate Universe. And while the promised big screen reboot of Stargate appears to have stalled, Stargate Universe fans are finally getting a chance for some resolution.

Via GateWorld, American Mythology’s new Stargate Universe comic will pick up where the TV series left off, with most of the crew of the Destiny in hibernation as they make a desperate attempt to escape the relentless attacks of the drones that wiped out the human population of that galaxy. However, one stasis pod was damaged, and Eli Wallace volunteered to remain awake with the knowledge that he had only two weeks to fix the problem before facing his own demise. Within the world of the show, that was Eli’s moment to rise to the occasion, and the series ended with a contemplative shot of Eli watching the stars go by.

Mark L. Haynes and J.C. Vaughn are writing the new Stargate Universe comic, with Giancarlo Caracuzzo as the artist. Although the writers and creators of the Stargate Universe TV show aren’t involved with the comic (in fact, many of them are currently working on Syfy’s Dark Matter), this comic will essentially be the third season of the series. Whether the comic will actually be canon remains to be seen. It’s all we have for now, but it’s entirely possible that any future Stargate TV revival would ignore this story.
