Killing Eve - Jodie Comer Joins BBC America Thriller

BBC America is excited to announce that BAFTA-nominated actress Jodie Comer (Thirteen, The White Princess, Lady Chatterley’s Lover) has been cast opposite Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy, Sideways) in the network’s highly anticipated original series Killing Eve. The new show is a dramatic thriller revolving around a psychopathic assassin and the woman charged with hunting her down. The eight-episode drama comes from Phoebe Waller-Bridge (BBC UK and Amazon’s Fleabag, UK Channel 4’s Crashing), and it will premiere in 2018.

Based on the novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve centers on two women; Eve (Oh) is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade security services operative whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle (Comer) is an elegant, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two fiercely intelligent women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.

You may recognize Jodie Comer from BBC America’s miniseries Thirteen, for which she was nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Leading Actress. She’s also appeared in numerous other programs including The White Princess, the recent adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover, and the drama series Doctor Foster.
