– CTV’s Fall Schedule delivers new series on six out of seven nights; Top 20 hits return every weeknight –
– CTV announces major expansion of local news programming with CTV NEWS AT FIVE –
–CTV TWO secures SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL and THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL simulcasts–

TORONTO (June 7, 2017) – With 16 unprecedented years as Canada’s most-watched network behind it, CTV unveiled today an unrivalled prime-time lineup featuring the most consistent schedule in North America updated with new series bringing heart, humility, humour, and humanity to viewers every night of the week. Fresh from a hugely successful L.A. Screenings buying trip, the CTV and CTV Two 2017/18 schedules will be presented by Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Content and Programming at the #CTVUpfront celebration of conventional television today in Toronto.

“CTV’s unprecedented success centres around our unwavering mission to deliver only the best new programs to our viewers,” said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Content and Programming. “The 2017/18 CTV schedule features a curated collection of big-buzz new comedies and dramas with heart and soul, like prequel sitcom YOUNG SHELDON and new franchise drama THE GOOD DOCTOR from HOUSE creator David Shore. They all bolster a #1 lineup that already features TV’s two biggest returning freshman hits in DESIGNATED SURVIVOR and THIS IS US.”

“On CTV Two, we are launching our strongest schedule ever with big returning franchises anchored for the first time by Thursday and Sunday Night Football,” continued Cosentino. “Touchdown CTV Two!”

Among the highlights from CTV’s Fall 2017 prime-time schedule:

Big Returning Hits

CTV delivers 10 Top 20 hits – more than all other Canadian networks combined. With its consistent schedule, CTV is the only Canadian network to feature a returning Top 20 hit (with total viewers) every weeknight. Returning to CTV are Canada’s #1 series and #1 comedy (THE BIG BANG THEORY), Canada’s Top 2 new series for A25-54 and A18-49 (DESIGNATED SURVIVIOR, THIS IS US), Canada’s #1 sophomore series (LUCIFER), and Canada’s #1 new original CARDINAL.

Big Fall Premieres

Fall brings fresh new programming to the CTV schedule on six of seven nights:

Mondays

7:30 p.m. – The innovative single-camera comedy starring ME, MYSELF & I, starring Bobby Moynihan and John Larroquette.
9 p.m. – New Marvel franchise series THE GIFTED, starring Stephen Moyer (TRUE BLOOD) and Amy Acker (PERSON OF INTEREST).
10 p.m. – From David Shore, new hospital drama THE GOOD DOCTOR, starring Freddie Highmore (BATES MOTEL), with a trailer that has already seen more than 25 million views.

Fridays

9 p.m. – A family-focused drama from the Marvel universe, the comic book-inspired adventure MARVEL’S INHUMANS, starring Anson Mount (HELL ON WHEELS) and Canada’s Serinda Swan (BALLERS).

Saturdays

8:30 p.m. – The politically-charged comedy THE MAYOR starring Lea Michele, (GLEE) and newcomer Brandon Micheal Hall as a young rapper who gets elected as his town’s mayor.

Sundays

10 p.m. – From Tassie Cameron (FLASHPOINT), a television producer’s life implodes when life imitates art in the mystery thriller TEN DAYS IN THE VALLEY, starring Kyra Sedgwick (BROOKLYN NINE-NINE).

Big Midseason Debuts

In 2018, CTV unveils five new acquisitions and rolls out three new original series:

Two all-new dramas from primetime’s reigning queen Shonda Rhimes with legal thriller FOR THE PEOPLE and the as yet untitled GREY’S ANATOMY spinoff following a group of heroic firefighters. Revival of the eponymous, award-winning and boundary-breaking 1988-97 comedy ROSEANNE, with a trailer that has already racked up the most views of any new series with more than 33 million to date, and counting. Timely and epic allegory THE CROSSING, which has already been described as LOST 2.0

DECEPTION, a new take on the police procedural that appoints a crime-solving magician to deal its dramatic twists
New original music series and format THE LAUNCH, featuring world-renowned record executive Scott Borchetta (AMERICAN IDOL) and confirmed mentors Fergie and Ryan Tedder (One Republic). The series showcases a mix of vibrant voices and mic-drop moments during the creation of the next chart-topping song. Starring Aden Young (RECTIFY), the new six-part original mystery series THE DISAPPEARANCE follows the Sullivan family in the wake of a tragic event. New original detective series THE DETAIL centers on three fiercely talented female homicide investigators who work tirelessly to solve crimes while navigating the complicated demands of their personal lives
