Riverdale - Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill! - Review

Riverdale has been renewed for a second season and we couldn't be happier. This new CW's teen-drama keeps on entertaining us with unexpected plot twists and interesting characters. Let's discuss the latest episode Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!

We should go straight to the point: the infamous kiss. I didn't hate it, but I am not sold on them as a couple. Betty and Jughead carry on their investigation on Jason's death and Polly and they reach Betty's sister. They find out that she is pregnant (and still a bit out of mind) and in the middle of all these crises, they share a random kiss. Betty's parents are still awful. How Archie will react? Will they start a bond?

Archie is dealing with stage fright during an audition and he asks Val to help him. Things get juicy: Josie doesn't want Val to be involved with the red-head and the latter decides to quit the Pussycats. The situation becomes more complicated when Ronnie decides to join the band in order to get revenge on Archie. Drama! I appreciate how the writers are trying to entagle all these different storylines.

In the end Val goes back to the Pussycats and makes up with Josie, Veronica is able to encourage Archie and he delivers a great performance. But there is an unexpected twist: he kisses Val. Love triangles are becoming rectangles. I am enjoying this storyline that delves into music and the music groups' dynamics. It's a fresh take on the matter.

This sixth episode of Riverdale's first season establishes once again the positive vibe of this new TV series. I still think that they have too many characters and they are not giving proper space to each of them (Kevin, anyone?), but I am positive about the future. I am pretty sure that there will be plenty of surprises and the murder mystery is getting juicer and juicer. I wasn't so hooked since Veronica Mars' Lily Kane mystery.

And you? How do you feel about Jughead and Betty? What do you think of Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!?
