We start out this week’s episode with a music video being filled. The scene is cut with Rosewood and his best friend Joo-Joo at a club. Looks like Rosie in full party mode. Looks like he isn’t handling the Tawnya situation too well. Rosie isn’t the only one getting down. Villa and Dr. Webb are in bed together and they are HOT!

Uh oh… Pippy and Momma Rosewood stop by Rosie’s place. He apartment is a mess. Looks like he’s on a dangerous downward spiral!

Back to the music video, the director and producer are fighting. The lead singer is getting chewed out by the director, who is putting his hands all over her and being aggressive.

The next morning, with a super yellow filter in full play, a reporter is filming a news segment about music mogul, Jeff "El Jefe" Rodriguez. A body, most likely his, has been found on his yacht.

The team is covering for Rosie. Mitchie, Pippy, and TMI are at the scene with Hornstock and Villa leading the investigation.

El Jefe’s body has turned into a mummy. Yikes!

Villa rushes over to Rosie’s house. He’s in bed with two girls. Villa sends the girls on their way and slaps a hungover and possibly still drunk Rosie. She tells Joo-Joo to make sure Rosie showers before leaving the house. She says that he stinks like cheap booze and prostitutes. Ouch!

Dr. Webb, whose leg is apparently better from the bullet wound, stops by Magic City Labs to help with the body. Pippy tells the team that El Jefe is notorious for finding young stars and then robbing them blind once their careers take off.

Rosewood surprises the team and shows up raring and ready to go. He kicks out Dr. Webb and the team gets to work on the body.

Meanwhile, back at the police station, Ira and Villa, fill Slade in on the case.

Rosie meets the team at the station. He said that El Jefe was definitely murdered. He also tells the entire team his business a.k.a. that he is broke. Slade sends Rosie back to the lab to figure out cause of death while Hornstock and Villa interview the victim’s girlfriend.

The victim’s girlfriend claims that Little V killed Jeff a.k.a. El Jefe.

Pippy, TMI, and Mitchie are working on the body when Rosie gets back to the lab. He tells them to leave because he doesn’t have any money to pay them. Ouch! Pippy puts him in his place, because, Pippy.

Uh oh, Donna Rosewood calls Rosie out by his government name. She lays his butt out and tells him he needs to be careful because of his health. Get it, Donna! Get it!

The tox results are in and Jeff was on digitalis, which means that he was suffering from a medical condition impacting his heart. Rosie is quick to point out that people are always out there trying to take advantage of the weak. Yikes, he’s really struggling!

Mitchie brings over an iPad. Lil V is on the news and has barricaded himself in his house and allegedly shot at the police. Villa is on the scene. Rosie shows up a short time later. He walks up to Lil V’s house to prove that Lil V didn’t shoot at the police.

Lil V admits that he had the gun illegally, but that he dropped it and that’s why it went off. Lil V tells Rosie that he didn’t kill El Jefe. His alibi checks out. The team thinks Selena, Lil V’s girlfriend, may have been the one who killed El Jefe.

Selena doesn’t give them an alibi. Her choreographer, Jamil, says that El Jefe looked out for him growing up. He said being gay in Biloxi, MS was really tough and El Jefe was always there for him. Selena scoffs that El Jefe takes advantage of Jamil and doesn’t pay him what he’s worth.

Rosewood is back at the bar. He accepts a stack of cash from a shady looking character. Where did the money come from? Joo-Joo stops by and wants Rosie out of the bar. Rosewood is terrible to Joo-Joo and basically calls him a leech. His best friend is hurt and leaves the bar. When Rosie goes to pay off his tab from the entire week, the bartender tells him that Joo-Joo has been paying it for him. Yikes, Rosie!

Back at the lab, Rosewood pays Pippy for two weeks. She wants to know where he got the cash from. He won’t give it up, but she said she’s going to follow back around. Pippy retests the DNA found in the victim’s mouth. Turns out that there were two people on that boat. Evidence shows that El Jefe had a male friend who was on the boat with him. They were in a romantic relationship.

Villa and Hornstock are interrogating, Chase, the boyfriend. He admits that he was on the boat that night and that they got into a fight. Instead of killing him, he said that he left Jeff alone on the boat.

Rosie is struggling. Captain Slade brings him into his office to have a talk.

Rosewood admits to Villa that he sold his car. She’s shocked.

Villa and Rosie visit Selena. She admits that she knew Jeff was gay and that they were in an arrangement, where he took care of her in return for her loyalty. Basically, she would pretend to be his girlfriend and she was okay with him being in a relationship with other people, primarily men.

Rosewood calls Kayla and leaves her a message. Villa is upset that she didn’t see Tawnya’s betrayal coming.

Ohhhh! Kayla shows up to Magic City Labs and she looks a lot different! She looks like she’s in her twenties, not a high schooler. She said that her real name isn’t Kayla and that everything Rosie thinks he knows about her is a lie. Dannnnnnnng!

She admits that her name is Yonce McGill and that she’s 22 years old. She said that Rosie was just her, “Next path to a warm bed.” She said that she never had someone like Rosie look after her. She said that she left Tawnya and didn’t take a dime of his money. She said she wants to change her life.

Hornstock shows up. He witnesses Yonce’s confession. Rosie hugs Yonce, then tells Ira to, “Book her.”

Villa visits Rosie. She tells him that his behavior is hurting her and that it is life threatening, due to his health issues. Rosewood tells her that he, “Just needs a little time and a little space,” and that, “he’ll be okay.”

Back at the lab, Rosie appears to be in a good mood. He wants to rehydrate the victim’s body so they can see body marks. The re-hydration process works and the team is pumped!

Looks like Jeff was tasered and that his body was dragged. Rosewood and Villa head down to the dock, where they find evidence of the body being dragged and they find taser confetti, which can be used to pinpoint the taser that was used in the attack.

Villa, Hornstock, and Rosewood, meet Jamil, Jeff’s best friend growing up and his artist’s choreographer, at the police station. Villa shoots the taser, which shoots off the same confetti Rosie and Villa found at the dock. Jamil is upset, he wanted Jeff to pick him and not the other man he was seeing. He knew about Jeff’s heart condition and he killed him out of jealousy. They arrest Jamil.

Rosie has a change of heart. He drops the charges against Yonce. She asks, “Is there any way we can go back to normal?” Rosie says, “No,” and walks away.

Slade says that he has a loaner for Rosie, since he sold his car. But guess what? Everyone has gotten together and pitched in to buy Rosie’s car back. He is incredibly happy and grateful, almost back to his regular self.

Rosie and Villa head to the beach. She tells him that it’s okay to miss Tawnya. She says that, “she gets it,” and that, “she would feel the same way.” Villa is such a good partner!

My Thoughts:

This whole episode is about Rosie focusing on users and people who take advantage of others. His anger is really out of character, but so completely understandable. The writers did a great job showing him react to the aftermath of the Tawnya situation.

I like that he was in a much better place at the end and that he and Villa were back on track.

One thing… The yellow filter on the episodes have been intense lately and it was SUPER distracting during this episode. It would be great if the filters could be adjusted!
