    Ratings Breakdown:
‘Tis the season for holiday specials and repeats, so it was no surprise to see “CMA Country Christmas” on ABC and a night of predominantly encore telecasts on CBS. The two-hour “CMA Country Music Special” was on the overnight map with a respectable 4.7 rating/7 share in households from 8-10 p.m., which fluctuated by only four-tenths of a rating point within the four half-hours. Directly opposite it was “The Voice” on NBC, which dominated the block with a 6.3/10.

Both ABC and NBC, however, dropped considerably in the 10 p.m. with ABC’s “Conviction” third at a 2.9/ 5 and NBC’s “Timeless” tied with an encore telecast of CBS’ “Scorpion” at a 3.5/ 6. The arrival of ABC’s “Quantico” into the Monday 10 p.m. hour in January is unlikely to be much of an improvement.

Earlier in the evening on CBS were repeats of sitcoms “The Big Bang Theory” (#2: 5.5/ 9), “Kevin Can Wait” (#3: 3.8/ 6) and “Man With a Plan” (#2: 4.8/ 7) from 8-9:30 p.m., followed by an original installment of “The Odd Couple” at a third-place 3.2/ 5 at 9:30 p.m.

Over at The CW, “Supergirl” remains the real deal with a 2.5/ 4 in the 8 p.m. hour up a staggering 257 percent over the 0.7/ 1 for former time period occupant “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” on the year-ago evening. “Jane the Virgin,” a worthy entry creatively, stumbled to a 0.9/ 1 in the household overnights at 9 p.m., however.

Fox capped off the night with “Gotham” at a 2.5/ 4 in the 8 p.m. hour, which was down by 19 percent year-to-year, followed by “Lucifer” at 2.8/ 4 at 9 p.m., which remains a vast improvement over short-lived year-ago drama occupant “Minority Report.”
