Rectify star Aden Young has found his next small screen role. The actor and Logan-Marshall Green (Prometheus) have signed onto star in the USA Network pilot Damnation, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Sarah Jones (Alcatraz), Chasten Harmon (BrainDead), Hell on Wheels' Christopher Heyerdahl and Melinda Page Hamilton (Mad Men) have also signed on for series regular roles, with Grey's Anatomy's Joe Adler set to recur should the project be picked to series.

Described as "an epic saga of the secret history of the 1930's American heartland," Damnation centers on the struggle between big money and the downtrodden, God and greed, charlatans and prophets during the Depression. The pilot centers on Seth Davenport, a man pretending to be a small town Iowa preacher in the hopes of starting a full-blown insurrection against the status quo. Focused on his mission, he is unaware that an industrialist tycoon has hired a professional strikebreaker named Creeley Turner to stop the uprising by whatever means necessary. Unbeknownst to those around them, these two men already share a secret bloody past.

Young will play Seth Davenport, a man with a violent past and a secret ambition to lead a revolution against American industrialists. Young is coming off a breakout role on SundanceTV's Rectify, which wraps its four-season run later this year. The actor, whose other credits include Killer Elite, is repped by CAA, Shanahan Management, and The Artist Representation Company.

Marshall-Green will play Creeley Turner, a hard-boiled and deadly mercenary sent to Iowa to stop the revolt. His other credits include Snowden, The O.C., 24 and Cinemax's Quarry. He is also set to appear in the next Spider-Man film. He is repped by CAA, 3 Arts and Stone Genow.

Jones will portray Amelia Davenport, a woman who puts on a modest front as a preacher's wife in order to disguise her fierce political ambitions. She was most recently seen on The Path, and her other credits include Texas Rising and Vegas. She is repped by UTA and Management 360.

Harmon is set as Bessie Louvin, a recent arrival to the local house of ill repute who is literate and cunning with Machiavellian plans to achieve a life of independence. The recent Yale School of Drama will also be in upcoming episodes of CBS' Elementary and Pure Genius. She is repped by Generate and Don Buchwald & Associates.

Heyerdahl will play set for the role of Sheriff Don Berryman, the charming local sheriff who in fact ruthlessly controls the county's moonshining, bootlegging, and prostitution rackets. The actor, whose other credits include Syfy's Van Helsing and Stargate: Atlantis, is represented by Greene & Associates Talent Agency.

Hamilton will portray Connie Nunn, a brutally efficient professional strikebreaker who will arrive in Iowa seeking revenge for her husband's murder. The actress, also known for her roles on Devious Maids and Big Love, is repped by SDB Partners and Sager Entertainment.

Adler will play DL Sullivan who is the young reporter in the town. His other credits include The Mentalist and Showtime's upcoming Twin Peaks revival. He is repped by Paradigm and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.

Hell or High Water director David Mackenzie recently came onboard to helm the pilot, which was written by Tony Tost (Longmire). The two will exec produce with James Mangold (Walk the Line), Guymon Casady (Game of Thrones), Daniel Rappaport (Office Space), and Mackenzie's producing partner, Gillian Berrie. The project hails from Universal Cable Productions.
