Fox has given a pilot oder to an untitled single-camera workplace comedy from writer-actress Laura Steinel.
The project, from 20th Century Fox TV, enters around Jane, who is caught between trying to manage her charmingly incompetent human resources department and a new eccentric CEO who dreams of bringing the New Jersey plastics plant into the future.
Steinel penned the script in her pilot writing debut and will co-executive produce. She is not attached to act. Sue Naegle executive produces. Jeff Schaffer has been tapped to direct, and he also will exec produce. Last year, Steinel also did a pilot but as an actress, she co-starred in ABC’s NBA comedy.
