THE PEOPLE V. O.J. SIMPSON: AMERICAN CRIME STORY IS TV’S #1-RATED SHOW IN DELIVERY OF ADULTS 18-49 AND ADULTS 18-34 TUESDAY FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK (L+3)

Adults 18-49 More Than Doubles With Inclusion of Time-Shifted Viewing,
Further Illustrating the Irrelevance of Live+Same Day Ratings for Scripted Programming

Best Week Two Retention of Any Recent FX Drama or Limited Series

    All-New Episode Tonight at 10

LOS ANGELES, February 16, 2016 – For the second consecutive week, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story ranked as television’s #1-rated show in delivery of Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 on Tuesday inclusive of all broadcast networks and basic and premium cable network programs according to The Nielsen Company (Live+3, Total U.S., 2/9/16 and 2/2/16, 8-11 PM –see attached files).

The first-run of the second episode of The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story delivered 3.9 million Adults 18-49, an astounding +104% Live+3 ratings increase over its delivery in Live+Same Day. The 1.87 million Adults 18-34 delivery for episode two was equal to that of the series premiere episode in Live+3 and a +96% Live+3 increase from Live+Same Day. Episode two delivered 7.4 million Total Viewers, posting a Live+Same Day to Live+3 lift of +91%. In addition in Live+3, the second episode of the new FX limited series gained audience over the premiere in all three men demographics: Men 25-54 (2.03 million, +4%), Men 18-49 (1.92 million, +3%) and Men 18-34 (920,000, +13%). The significant time-shifted viewing resulted in excellent week-to-week audience retention, holding 94% of Adults 18-49 and 89% of Total Viewers. The minimal week-to-week declines in those categories should narrow further – even possibly flip to the plus column – when all viewing is registered approximately 60 days from now.

The Live+3 delivery for the first two episodes of The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story illustrates the increasing irrelevance and incomplete picture of Live+Same Day ratings compared to the ultimate viewership of an FX original series and most scripted entertainment programs.

The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story returns with an all new episode tonight, February 16 at 10PM on FX: “The Dream Team” - Marcia Clark (Sarah Paulson) announces that O.J. Simpson (Cuba Gooding Jr.) has been charged. Robert Shapiro (John Travolta) seeks advice from F. Lee Bailey (Nathan Lane) and comes up with a provocative strategy. As Shapiro starts putting together “The Dream Team”, he must convince O.J. to hire Johnnie Cochran (Courtney B. Vance). Written by D.V. DeVincentis; directed by Anthony Hemingway.

The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story is a limited series that takes you inside the O.J. Simpson trial with a riveting look at the legal teams battling to convict or acquit the football legend of double homicide. Based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin, it explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution overconfidence, defense shrewdness, and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.

From Executive Producers Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Brad Falchuk, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story stars John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jr., Sarah Paulson, David Schwimmer, Courtney B. Vance, Sterling K. Brown, Nathan Lane, Kenneth Choi, Christian Clemenson and Bruce Greenwood. The limited series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story has garnered universal acclaim from critics and currently ranks #1 of all series in 2016 on Metacritic with an average score of 90, and is 97% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
