Suits - God's Green Earth - Review: The storm before the storm

For a change this week's episode starts with Harvey and Mike vs Gibbs up to a tie. She has the subpoena, and the date for the trial, while Harvey and Mike win the motion for her to hand over any evidence she has. But Gibbs has a few aces under her sleeve and she moves quickly. She has a conversation with Rachel, where she paints her a really utopic picture where Mike could go to Columbia after this is done, only if they cooperate with her.

Gibbs is making a good job of setting little doubts and difficulties for the main six to possibly turn against each other, for now it hasn't worked. But divide and you conquer they say.
Mike does everything to reassure Rachel, while Donna tries to convince Harvey to talk to Gibbs. But the consequences of their actions aren't what they expected, Mike looks for Scottie, bringing her to confront Harvey and she does not only bring up why everything that is happening is a mess but also why they didn't work out. Harvey loses it, like the majority of times when he's confronted about his feelings, until he is, again, defied by Donna, always working as his conscience.
In the meantime Rachel is called to the Deans's office and is questioned about her LSAT's results, at the same time Sheila is only sending to Pearson Specter Litt interns that don't really qualify, and Soloff can't find new clients, because no one wants to be related to them. The word about the conflict they're in is out, and the article ratting them out refers to no one in God's green earth wanting to be associated with them, a phrase Gibbs repeats to Harvey. Everything comes back to her, she finds out from a secret tip that Mike took LSAT's for people, she talked to the Columbia's Dean, she gave the information to the writer. She's doing a great job to put everyone against each other and making them not only feel they're in a cross hairs but there's nowhere to turn to.

Jessica reigns and asks Louis to take care of Sheila, who is taking a leave of absence and travelling to Argentina, Louis trying to protect her while being loyal to Harvey and the firm is heartbreaking. Harvey and Mike charge Gibbs for Malicious prosecution unless she signs a deal to back off, setting the case a step behind of where she thought she was. But in court things might turn out differently.

As always, no matter how crazy the cases get the main six have a moment of introspection, Harvey talks to Scottie before she leaves, he admits he's not good with communication, and that he has been seeking help. They have the closure they never did before, because Scottie doesn't seem like she will wait for him, but for once Harvey thinks he's ready for a relationship, and she was always the one he tried with. Thinking about Harvey's character in the earlier seasons, who could have thought he'd be where he is now. Mike and Rachel share a hopeful moment, while Jessica finds in Soloff and ally, he gives her the same information Hardman has on him, while she re considers if he could ever become a named partner.

The stakes are as high as ever, are things will only get more complicated, the only way it feels like they can get over this is together, but  without working on their communication I don't see if this is possible.  Knowing that they find Trevor could change Mike's decision about representing himself?
With only 3 episodes left, Suits has to show it can be consistent with its characters' growth, if they can overcome their pasts, there might be a future.

Side Notes
- Jessica and Harvey's opening scene was the only comic relief this episode had, showing another side of Jessica and it's refreshing.
- Donna and Rachel's conversation was true to their friendship, in the end they're always there for the other, it's nice to see them together talking about themselves, however I wonder if this is foreshadowing to something else that might happen.

A bit more eventful than last week but ultimately still boring. Good news is Rachel and Donna love each other. Bad news is the entire firm wants Harvey and Mike to feel the same yet all they did this episode was argue. Not my cup of tea. Scottie is awesome and she doesn't deserve any of this. Meanwhile, the Louis and Sheila drama actually interested me. And that cliffhanger - what's Trevor gonna do?

What did you think?
