Review:
Barry wants to join the ROTC, but Bev doesn't want him joining them. If mom says no, the best thing to do is to ask dad and Barry does. He goes behind her back to get him to sign the permission form because he thinks it will make him a bigger man. However, it comes at a cost because Murray asks the captain to discipline him so he doesn't quit. Barry realizes that it's tougher than he thought and the captain calls him worthless. When he complains to Beverly about his tough experience that day, this causes her to take action by forcing the captain to "wingmom" her own son. In the end, Beverly lets him do whatever makes him happy and he decides to fly solo through the military training in the end. The reason that Barry wanted to quit after he thought it was tough is that he was carefree and I was very happy that his dad forced the captain to keep on pushing him to succeed. The captain had every right to call out Barry because of his goofy personality. Barry's storyline reminded me of Fox's underrated sitcom, Enlisted where the guys did not always take their training very seriously.

Meanwhile, Adam and Pops hangout together at the mall. While they are there, they look at a "time share" presentation that can get them free movie tickets. However, Pops loves the presentation so much that the condo attracts him, which causes him to purchase it. Despite all the advantages of it, it comes at a cost that Adam will have to spend much time without him. To make him jealous, he tries to hang out with Pop-Pop. Of course, that fails and it causes Adam to hangout by himself. In the end of this storyline, he understands why Pops wants to enjoy time to himself. He presents him a presentation of the bond between him and Pops because he wants to remind him the bond and the great times they always have. I loved how the storyline ended where Adam and Pop-Pop (who's not as fun as Pops) bonded.

Do not forget to watch The Goldbergs on Wednesday nights at 8:30/7:30c between The Middle and Modern Family. If you missed this episode or any of the episodes, watch the episodes from the beginning on Hulu Plus. The subscription is worth the money.
