  • 21:00 - Crush - ABC Developing Drama from the Writer of Taken
    “Taken” writer Robert Kamen is teaming up with mega-producer Aaron Kaplan for an ABC drama, titled “Crush,” Variety has learned exclusively.

    The potential series revolves around a women who, after her hedge fund crashes, inherits a vineyard in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains near a town populated with eccentric people.

    Kamen will serve as writer and exec producer on the project and Kaplan will exec produce.

    In a competitive situation, FX has bought Caper, an hourlong dark crime comedy project from Dutch Southern (Hoof Garrington’s Greatest Hits), writer-director Magnus Martens (Banshee) and Circle of Confusion.

    Based on an idea by Southern and Martens, Caper is described as a Southern Gothic Texas Noir done the Scandinavian way and follows the interconnected lives of three sets of criminals. Southern will write the pilot and Magnus is attached to direct. Tim Schlattman (Dexter) will supervise and showrun.

  • 02:10 - Downward Dog - ABC Pilot - Allison Tolman to Star
    Fargo breakout Allison Tolman has found her next project.

    The Emmy nominee has been tapped to star in the ABC comedy Downward Dog, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

    Picked up in September with a hefty pilot production order, the half-hour, single-camera comedy is based on the web series created and written by Animal Media Group's Samm Hodges and Michael Killen, who will exec produce alongside Mosaic Media Group's Jimmy Miller and Sam Hansen as well as Animal's Kathy Dziubek.

    Tolman will star as Nan, whose life is in a constant state of upheaval, but who always feels like she's about to turn the corner. Her ideal self lies just on the other side of this juice cleanse or new relationship, or maybe if she gets a standing desk ... Meanwhile, her dog, Martin, just wants her. And he'll do whatever it takes to get her attention.

    Lisa Kudrow and Dan Bucatinsky’s Is Or Isn’t Entertainment (Web Therapy) has teamed with Ryan Seacrest’s Ryan Seacrest Productions (Shades Of Blue) for a single-camera comedy project, which has landed at ABC with a put pilot commitment.

    Written by actor-writer Bucatinsky and comedian-writer Jen Kirkman, the untitled comedy revolves around four women friends rattled by a fortysomething feeling of irrelevance who embark on a mission to turn their invisibility into invincibility.

    Bucatinsky, Kudrow, Seacrest and RSP’s Nina Wass executive produce, with Kirkman serving as co-executive producer. CBS TV Studios, where RSP has an overall deal, is the studio.

    Mom's the word on NBC.

    The network has bought an ensemble comedy about a working mom from A to Z creator Ben Queen and Inside Out screenwriter Meg LeFauve, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

    The half-hour, single-camera script centers on a mom who attempts to get over her need to be the perfect parent by banging together with her friends to admit — and even celebrate — the messy reality of parenting. The group share their daily mistakes, deepening their friendship, and their kids manage to survive and even thrive.

    Queen will exec produce with writer LeFauve, and writers Lorien McKenna (Up, Brave) and Christine Whitaker (Snow Dogs) will co-executive produce. Warner Bros. Television will produce.

Tracy (Vanessa Lachey) brags to Angie (Bresha Webb) about sharing a gym membership with another Asian woman, taking advantage of the white employees who can't tell the two of them apart. She convinces Angie to do the same, but quickly discovers her goody-two-shoes friend might not be able to pull it off.
