    Hugh Dancy has been cast in Fifty Shades Darker, the next film based on EL James' erotic book series.

    Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, who starred in 2015's Fifty Shades of Grey, will reprise their roles in the Universal sequel, playing Anastasia and billionaire Christian Grey, respectively. In the follow-up, Ana starts a new job, and at the same time she's faced with dealing with the reappearance of some of Christian's former flames.

    Dancy will play Dr. John Flynn, a psychiatrist whom Grey begins seeing after the reappearance of his former lover (who initiated him into the world of S&M) Mrs. Elena “Robinson” Lincoln (played by Kim Basinger). Originally from England, Flynn moved to Seattle after he married an American woman.

  • 8th February 2016 - Arielle Kebbel Joins Cast
    Arielle Kebbel, known for her recurring roles on UnREAL and Ballers, has joined the Fifty Shades of Grey threequel Fifty Shades Freed.

    Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, who starred in 2015's Fifty Shades of Grey, will reprise their roles in Universal's sequel, playing Anastasia and billionaire Christian Grey, respectively. In the sequel, Ana starts a new job, and at the same time she's faced with dealing with many of Christian's former flames.

    Fifty Shades Darker will film back-to-back with the third film in the series, Fifty Shades Freed. Freed, which is based on the third and final book in James' series, centers on Ana and Christian's relationship as it gets more serious. It is slated for release on Feb. 9, 2018.

    Kebbel will play Gia Matteo, a beautiful architect who Christian hires to build his home. Ana gives her the nickname "Miss-Provocative-And-Unfortunately-Good-At-Her-Job."

  • 26th February 2016 - Tyler Hoechlin Joins Cast
    “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Hoechlin has been cast as Boyce Fox in “Fifty Shades Darker,” the sequel to “Fifty Shades of Grey,” TheWrap has exclusively learned.

    James Foley is directing the “Fifty Shades” sequels for Universal Pictures. Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are producing with Marcus Viscidi and author E.L. James, whose husband, Niall Leonard, adapted both books.

    The character of Boyce Fox is referenced in the “Fifty Shades” books, though he does not technically make an appearance in the narrative. The character will be fleshed out in the “Fifty Shades Darker” movie, as Boyce Fox is the first author who Ana signs as an editor at publishing company SIP.

    EXCLUSIVE: Bella Heathcote has been set to join the cast of Fifty Shades Darker, the second installment of the trilogy based on E L James’ worldwide bestselling Fifty Shades Of Grey book series. Heathcote, who starred in Dark Shadows, opens today in Pride And Prejudice And Zombies. James Foley is directing both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed with Niall Leonard adapting the screenplay for the next two films. Heathcote joins Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Kim Basinger was recently set as well. Heathcote will play Leila, a former lover of Christian, who bears the scars to prove it.

    Kim Basinger has joined the cast of Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to the Universal franchise based on EL James’ bestselling books. James Foley is directing the second and third installment (Fifty Shades Freed), which are being shot back-to back, with Niall Leonard adapting both screenplays. Basinger is next up in Shane Black’s The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.

    Eric Johnson is in talks to play Jack Hyde, Christian Grey’s rival in Universal’s “Fifty Shades Darker,” the sequel to the global hit “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

    Kim Basinger and Bella Heathcote have also recently joined the cast, with Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan returning to reprise their roles of Anastasia Steele and Grey, respectively. James Foley is taking over directing reins from Sam Taylor-Johnson.

    In the book, Hyde plays Steele’s new boss, an assistant news editor who falls for her and begins pursuing her, much to Grey’s dislike. Hyde will appear in both “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.”

    Good news arrived Thursday for Fifty Shades of Grey fans.

    Universal announced that Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to the box-office blockbuster will hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017. The third film in the series, Fifty Shades Freed, will debut Feb. 9, 2018.

    The news came one day after The Hollywood Reporter reported exclusively that the husband of Fifty Shades trilogy author E.L. James will write the script for the second film. Niall Leonard, who is married to and has two sons with the British author, is an author himself, in addition to being a screenwriter.

    EL James, the author of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, has enlisted her husband to write the script for the sequel, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

    Niall Leonard, who is married and has two sons with the British author, is an author himself, in addition to being a screenwriter. He’s written for the British TV shows Air Force One Is Down and Wire in the Blood, among others. He’s also the author of the Crusher book series. He also worked on the script for the first Fifty Shades but was not credited.

    As the Fifty Shades of Grey movie finally hits theaters, there is news about the movies sequels tentatively titled Fifty Shades of Grey 2 and Fifty Shades of Grey 3. The movies will be based on E.L James books Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson made the official announcement about the sequels at the movie’s premiere in New York last week.

    Fifty Shades of Darker focuses on the relationship between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, while Fifty Shades of Freed shares details of the couple’s life after they are married.

    It is no surprise the sequels have already been announced considering Fifty Shades of Grey was Fandango’s fastest selling advance ticket R-rated movie ever.

    What a week for Christian Grey fans. “Fifty Shades of Grey” has yet to premiere in theaters, but according to attendees of the "Today" show's screening of the film in New York Friday, the film’s director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, has reportedly confirmed that the romance film will be getting two sequels.

    While Universal, the studio behind the anticipated blockbuster, has yet to confirm the sequel news, well-followed “Fifty Shades” fan site administrators have shared details of the rumored announcement on social media. According to their statements, Taylor-Johnson told the audience that the second and third books in E.L. James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey” series, “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed,” will be adapted for the big screen. James, as well as the film’s stars, Dakota Johnson (Anastasia “Ana” Steele) and Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey), were also present for the reveal.
