ReplyDeleteThey can do whatever they want now, I don´t care, as long as they respect Delena through Damon, and he stays in character, but you can´t be mad or against the fans who love TVD and wanted it to end when Nina left, bc she´s the soul of the series, she is and has always been the MAIN character of the series, w/o her, there´s no show, the storylines revolved around her. If they wanna continue doing the show, then they should´ve taken every character to a spi-off and end the series with dignity, with Nina and have closure, you don´t do that to a fandom that´s always been there and helped them get where they are to deserve this. That´s my opinion. And one season is plenty of time to plan a perfect series finale, given that they knew Nina was leaving for YEARS

Technically, TVD isn't Arrow. TVD doesn't have one main character. It

Stefan's the one who narrated the show for most part.
I respect the fans who are dissatisfied with Nina leaving and TVD continuing without her, but believe it or not, it's a great chance for TVD to find itself again. TVD didn't use to be all about Delena or Stelena and now it is...Ending TVD right now isn't with "dignity" really because it's reduced to a vamp soap opera- and I dread to say it but all this DE/SE/SC drama caused it. Without Elena, the two big ships are thrown out the window and SC doesn't have a big enough fan base to push for fanservice and ultimately ruin everything like SE/DE did. TVD has the chance to be "almost" like seasons 1 and 2 again IF the writers let them. and lots of fans are willing to give TVD that shot...at least the ones who didn't watch TVD just for ships. I'm a Delena fan too, but I'm willing to give that ship a rest if it means unnecessary focus on romance is gonna dial down and the writers actually "try" to find TVD's foundation again which wasn't just romance.

ReplyDeleteYou'd be surprised to see, for a dead ship, SE fans are a lot. Not more than delena, but they're a lot. Actually Stelena fans were fanbaited in the entire season 5. Like what was the point of 5x18? The writers tried draw the SE fans back. The love triangle could've easily ended when Elena chose Damon in season 4, but the showrunners just wouldn't let it go. They made every storyline in season 5 about Delena/Stelena. (doppleganger prophecy? ugh.)
Well, to me it sounds like TVD is based on a love triangle. But this love triangle isn't just about a girl in love with two guys, there's a third side because the two guys also have a very deep bond, but this relationship was ignored for the sake of romance. Three years for Stelena, three years for Delena, I guess defan deserves the spotlight right now without being overshadowed by romance. I get your point of view, I mean, rewatching the series, Delena definitely seems the most prominent storyline - the constant. They existed since season 1 to season 6, unlike Stelena which was thankfully gone after 4 seasons. And yes, they were an important part of TVD, but the show's premise has always been a love triangle. It's only fair when all sides are explored. I actually respect your opinion, you have every right not to watch, there's nothing that interests you but I was explaining why many fans want to and why they should have that chance.
