  • About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

  1. Sorry all for the delay. Tables will be updated shortly.

    Had a brief powercut.

  2. Oh no wayward pines

    ReplyDelete
  3. Other than Big Brother, which is actually up rather significantly year to year in raw numbers, everyone had a lousy, lousy night. Yikes.

    ReplyDelete
  4. New series low for UtD.
    Mistresses is so getting cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I am not really sure ABC can cancel all of this. By my account, they should be canceling The Whispers, Extreme Weight Loss (2 hours), Astronaut Wives Club, Mistresses and Rookie Blue. I don't see them being able to replace 6 hours next summer, seems too much. I think something will survive and I would actually think Mistresses has the edge.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yikes for everything, Wayward, Aquarius and UTD crashed. AWC hold pretty good but I doubt thats enough for renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  7. So many bad numbers over the table.
Sad for ABC's line up, they deserve much higher numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  8. AWC 0.7/0.7
    Mistresses 0.7/0.6
    Rookie Blue 0.6/0.7
    Big Brother 1.8/1.8
    Aquarius and Hannibal 0.4/0.4
    BATB 0.3/0.2
    Wayward Pines 1.0/0.9
    Food Fighters 0.7/0.7
    UTD 1.1/1.0

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hmm, I was going to reply to your comment, but it seems you deleted it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. "Tim, our show is going to get horrible numbers this summer!"
    "Renew it in advance Jim"
    "But Tim?"
"I said: RENEW IT BEFORE people can see what a stinker it is, I'm banging the lead, I'm not letting ratings come between me and this"

    ReplyDelete
  11. What happened to Wayward? BOOM did decent for a self starter who is also cheap.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Astronaut Wives is limited series only, right? So it doesn't even matter.
BatB, i keep watching it, but it is getting worse, i am thinking about dropping it. If it was still in regular season i would definitely drop it.
I hope UtD will end this season. It is one of those shows that is decreasing in quality but i really want to know how it ends.
I expect Wayward Pines to have proper ending anyway, so it doesn't matter anyway.
Aquarius getting renewed and getting 0.4 already is hilarious.

But what i am pissed about the most is Mistresses. It is at it's best now and i enjoy it very much, like never before

    ReplyDelete
  13. No, AWC isnt a mini series(limited yes with 10 episodes), it can have a season 2

    ReplyDelete
  14. Haven't we learned in the past few months that "limited" only remains "limited" in case it does bad? If it does well a renewal is certain, even if people say it was "limited".

    ReplyDelete
  15. Which one? I didn't delete any comment lol

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yup, but it is based on real historic events so if they cover it all in S1, what else would they do :D

    ReplyDelete
  17. Rookie Blue is Canadian, if Global renews it, then ABC will most likely acquire another season. Mistresses production was moved to Canada for this season because of last season's low ratings. What more are they going to do to make it profitable after mid 0s?

    ReplyDelete
  18. THERE ISN'T ENOUGH OUCHES WOW. ONLY BB IS DOING FINE.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I tried replying to it earlier and disqus would let me saying that your comment is not "active". I see it now.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Big Brother.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Jeez that is not a pretty looking table. Wayward Pines has lost whatever it had that made me love it so much. The last 2 episodes have been very disappointing for me. Under the Dome actually redeemed itself from that god awful premiere for me, but I can't believe they've started a love triangle. I'm not sure if Aquarius being renewed and getting 0.4's is sad or hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The wives life after all that. It is majorly about the wives and how they survived in the period not the events.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Regarding Rookie Blue, Motive was also on the same conditions and ABC canned it last year with a 0.83 average. Even accounting for the y2y decline, Rookie Blue is doing as bad, if not worse. So I don't see the situation being different enough for Rookie Blue to be a likely thing. Could happen but could easily not, since we know that Motive's ratings weren't enough to make it profitable despite the low cost - say it was an Hannibal situation if you want to.

Regarding Mistresses, I would like to know the cost of the show. The show has a decently favorable demographic (CW-esque, very heavy on W18-34, which advertisers love), so I could see it surviving on CW-esque economics. I really don't have the data for this but I would say it is a borderline case.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I have no idea why, weird. I wasn't editing it or anything

    ReplyDelete
  25. So many BBs in that line up (Big Bang, Beauty/Beast, Big Brother)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Probably disqus acting up.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Those are TBBT and BaTB. No one calls them BB.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wouldn't be the first time in the last couple of days.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I only use BB to Blue Bloods and Big Brother

    ReplyDelete
  30. Can't wait for fall season. T

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think all this ugliness will mean we will get even less scripted shows next summer, which sucks

    ReplyDelete
  32. Most likely. Everything will get reduced. Even now we are on a low amount of shows during summer
I assume all the DVR numbers are high or at I hope they are, cause who wants to stay home and watch shows.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't hope Under the Dome gets canceled without having a proper ending.

    #Batb great S3

    ReplyDelete
  35. Those ratings are anything but great.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wayward Pines isn't looking that bad, not sure if it did better in the weeks before but it sure looks to be the top rated original content this summer
Under the Dome also looks okay-ish to me.

Whatever show does best out of the line-up has a future. So I'm pretty sure that Wayward Pines and Under the Dome have a future beyond this season.

Astronauts Wifes club sadly does look dead on arrival and Mistresses is probably going to have calculated in the rating drop given the lead dropping out last season and the location being moved for cost efficiancy.
Hannibal just looks sad to me at this point but given the cancellation I don't blame people for just stopping to watch it and Rookie Blue, well...I don't even know much about that show.

The CWs numbers don't surprise me at this point, its lineup here is just pathetic and I have little to no understanding for the decision to renew that show prior to even kicking off its third season. What's happening there is beyond my understanding and looks to me like someone has a hard grip on the network.

It generally seems that mystery shows are a bigger draw in summer, so I could see FOX deciding to cash in on the X-Files momentum and putting season 11 in summer (since they're already shooting for 10 and don't think about stopping that might be a chance) with a little hiatus between seasons

    ReplyDelete
  37. eeh...let's just get this into perspective here:

this night was rated horrible all over the board, no show came out on top (except a TBBT rerun) and yet BatB still managed to be the lowest rated original content of the night, its numbers are abysmal

    ReplyDelete
  38. I believe it's miniseries, because they pushed premiere date to have time to retool everything in order to cover all the missions.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I know this is kind of off-topic, but what did you think of the Zoo premiere? I know you were excited for it so I'm wondering if you've already seen and if you did, what you thought about it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Under the Dome will be renewed. I am certain it is still profitable.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I quite enjoyed it! I preferred the Botswana stuff to the US stuff and thought the transitions could have been smoother but the Botswana stuff was really great and I liked the three main characters, especially the ones from Billy Burke and James Wolk. It also seems to be like one of those shows that tends to get better after a few episodes when it finds its stride. It won't be award winning television but it is very entertaining I thought, just what I expected!

BatB is cheap to produce as international production, cheaper than other scripted dramasCW wants to get it to 70 ish episodes for syndication,it's a bug inert national seller & international sales are supposedly covering its production costs p,us Czw wants more original year round programming.

    ReplyDelete
  43. From all this mess, I would say that Under the Dome is definitely coming back and that Wayward Pines is a toss up because of the whole cast situation (I think FOX would have renewed it already had the contracts not expired already). On ABC land, I say AWC is dead and Rookie Blue and Mistresses are on limbo, with me guessing a renewal for Mistresses and a cancellation for Rookie Blue. Beauty and the Beast and Aquarius have already been renewed, while Hannibal has already been canceled.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm not sure it can ever get a proper ending. It's a big chaos.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Wow, that's really bad for every show not named Big Brother. I don't even think Fourth Of July weekend can be the excuse as most people start on Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  46. We will. Scripted isn't doing well enough in the summer to justify its placement on schedule. Viewers were given the chance to watch them, but they aren't, so you can't blame the networks for making the obvious call.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It's on FOX's summer schedule which has been a giant disaster this year. Nothing on the network is doing well, including MasterChef which should be doing better.

I'd be interested to see if Deadline will back off its PR article as they jumped the gun in claiming that Wayward Pines had a good shot at coming back. It really didn't, FOX can and will do better than a 1.2.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I enjoyed it too and didn't think I would. I do like most of James Pattersons's books. I have always liked Billy Burke and have missed him since the cancellation of a Revolution. I am looking forward to the rest of the season,

    Mistresses 😪

    ReplyDelete
  50. I beg to differ. I enjoyed the last episode. I like all the characters. I enjoy the show. It is a change from all the vampire and zombies. I do not watch these shows but I do not put them down. Someone else is watching them so that's good.

    ReplyDelete
  51. BATB is the best series on the CW. Season 3 has been awesome and continues to be with each new episode.

    ReplyDelete
  52. That's good to hear! I enjoyed it as well and while I also preferred the Africa part (that scenery was really beautiful!), I think the LA part added a certain level of mystery to the pilot.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yes probably you are right. And I really enjoyed the Billy Burke character in LA so I am good with it. I wonder how long it will take for those two sets to connect though!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I would still like to see what they make of it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I hope so! I don't want the show to end without a proper ending. It will be interesting to see which Summer shows CBS will renew and cancel.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I really think Under the Dome is perfectly safe, I estimate it easily makes a profit since the Amazon deal + International Sales > Production Cost, which means ad revenue, DVDs and whats not is just pluses on top of that for CBS. Extant is more of a tossup case since the ratings are lower and, especially, since the show is more expensive. Zoo is too early to tell.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I hope you're right about UtD! Though I think sesaon 4 or 5 at the latest should be its last. Extant returning to a series low is definitely not a good sign. Hopefully the Netflix deal with Zoo can keep it alive, as there is not much ad revenue from the demo.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well, I expect the premiere to have generated north of 1500$ of ad revenue which would cover half of the cost already. The Netflix deal is probably just short of that as well (Since the articles have said it was considerably higher than the one for Dome which is 900$). Add in the huge international sales that these series have (Dome and Extant in theory have close to $1750), and then the whatever profits come from DVD and itunes and such, and the show should be more than generating enough profit for renewal, and then some. However, this is obviously just the premiere, and we need to see where it settles (even if the ad revenue doesn't really account for much of the total revenue here).

    ReplyDelete
  59. Umm, I was talking about the ratings, not the shows quality but whatever floats your boat.

I utterly dislike the show (and Reign) but its ratings have nothing to do with its lacking quality

    ReplyDelete
  60. Shows like UtD are very easy to market towards a core audience, I guess they'll want it to go to 5 seasons and I doubt they won't go to 5 given the semi-acceptable ratings and the Stephen King connection. King movies/shows have been doing well for years now and I doubt they'll cancel it without closure

That said: i could be wrong

    ReplyDelete
  61. UtD is a no brainer for me, I've never seen the show but it looks very LOST-ish to me and that genre is fairly easy to market.
About Wayward Pines, I don't know who's probably going to jump ship (don't watch that show either) but looking at the castlist: Matt Dillon hasn't done much movie work lately so I guess he might stay, especially since TV is "the future" for washed up big screen actors, Carla Cugino looks like a potential issue given her lineup till 2016, Shannyn Sossamon has not much on her plate, Toby Jones is doing virtually EVERYTHING so he's staying. Terrance Howard is a goner though.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Your points are all very easy to find on the fan excuse bingo sheet.

Don't get me wrong, BatB going to 88 is fine on my part but the numbers it reels in are just baffling. I get that you love the show but it's painfully obvious that Take5 has an exclusive developement deal with theCW until a specific year. Since theCW isn't interested in renewing the contract or adding another show to that list they let them produce their stuff till the collab is over (at least from the way things look to me). Take5 has a contract with theCW for sure, that contract binding theCW down to either renewing a show continously or adding another show to that lineup. Quite a reasonable possibility

    ReplyDelete
  63. UTD dropped a lot. Mistresses is a tent down *sighs* I dont see teh show living past this season

    ReplyDelete
  64. Brandy Danforth4 July 2015 at 14:21

Where did you come this ridiculous theory? No it's not "y obvious Take 5 has a exclusive development deal with CW".As low as BatB ratings -and Reigns-are they are cheap to produce and make money for Czw,as hard as that that us for you believe.CW is now simply trying to BatB/Reignto 70ish episodes-like Nikita,HoD-for syndication. Please don't act like you know how CW runs in relation to BatB,cause you don't know and you were the guy that thought Carrie Diaries was renewed to sell into stsy dictation with SATC!which hasn't happened. As long as BatB international sales and digital sales make Czw money plus cover its production costs,it'll be renewed.
