  • 22:30 - Son of Zahn - Animated/Live-Action Comedy From Miller & Lord Gets Fox Presentation Order
The Lego Movie duo of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are tapping into their TV animation roots with Son of Zahn, a new animated/live action hybrid comedy, which has received a presentation order at Fox. The project, written by former Wilfred showrunners Reed Agnew and Eli Jorne, has cast its live-action male lead, with Miller and Lord recruiting young actor Johnny Pemberton, who had a supporting in their 2014 movie 22 Jump Street.

In Son of Zahn, upon arriving home for the first time in ten years, an animated Barbarian father finds that reconnecting with his moody, live-action teenage son, Alan (Pemberton), and ex-wife while suffering a mundane office job and the banality of suburban life is harder than waging actual war in his distant, animated world.

The 8-10 minute presentation will shoot later this summer. Agnew and Jorne serve as showrunners and executive produce alongside Lord, Miller and their TV executive Seth Cohen. Eric Appel (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) will direct the presentation and serve as co-executive producer. 20th Century Fox TV, where Miller and Lord’s company is based, is the studio.

  • 22:00 - 'You're the Worst' Creator on "Weirder, Darker" Season 2: Jimmy's Trashy History, More Sunday Funday
Looking back on season one, how did Gretchen and Jimmy get to be this damaged? Is this a case of nature vs. nurture?

I think it's a combination of both. Gretchen, we met her parents and they seem like pretty uptight, country club types, and she probably rebelled against that pretty early. There was a sense in her that she had to be the good kid, and so she learned to live a double life and not let anyone know her true nature and kind of lie about everything, as we established. She kept up this good persona while being tempted by the worst parts of her nature and probably also her background. It's probably nurture, partially, but not in the way that one might expect in a way of acting against more repressive elements of her family. We will find out more about Jimmy's background in season two. He rebelled in the opposite way: His family is English white trash in a way, and he immediately wanted to distance himself from his tiny little industrial, lead-mining town and take on this posh accent and immediately go to London and L.A. as soon as he could and get far away from his roots and reinvent himself. But as we'll sort of learn, the past always comes back to haunt you.

  • 22:00 - Charles Grodin Joins ‘Madoff'
Charles Grodin (Louie) is among the latest to join the cast of ABC miniseries Madoff. Inspired by ABC News chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross’ reports and his book The Madoff Chronicles, the mini follows the rise and spectacular fall of the now-imprisoned swindler Bernie Madoff (Dreyfuss) and the $65 billion Ponzi scheme he concocted. Grodin will play Carl Shapiro, an investor who lost millions in the scheme. Also joining the project is Lewis Black as Ezra Merkin, a Madoff business associate and investor. In addition to Dreyfuss, they join previously announced Blythe Danner, Frank Whaley, Erin Cummins, Tom Lipinski and Lyne Renee.

  • 22:00 - Coach - Bill Fagerbakke To Return As Dauber Dybinski
Coach Hayden Fox will have one of his right-hand men by his side when he returns to television. Coach co-star Bill Fagerbakke is set to join Craig T. Nelson as a regular on NBC’s upcoming 13-episode sequel to the 1990s sitcom.

Written by the original series creator Barry Kemp, the new Coach is set in present day, picking up 18 years after the ABC sitcom went off the air after nine seasons. Coach Hayden Fox (Nelson) — now retired from coaching — is called back to become assistant coach to his own grown son, who is the new head coach at an Ivy league school in Pennsylvania that is just starting up a new team. Fagerbakke will reprise his role as Fox’s former assistant coaches, special teams coach Michael “Dauber” Dybinski.

Of the other original Coach players, I hear Jerry Van Dyke, who played Fox’s other assistant coach, defensive coordinator Luther Van Dam, may do guest appearances, while Shelley Fabares, who played Fox’s wife Christine, may not be able to be part of the new show because of health issues.

Kemp and Nelson are executive producing the comedy, which, like the original, will be multi-camera.

TRANSGENDER TEEN NICOLE MAINES CAST IN A SPECIAL EPISODE OF USA NETWORK’S ‘ROYAL PAINS’

Network Partners with PFLAG to Create Powerful New PSA Featuring Mark Feuerstein to Air during the June 23 Broadcast All-New Episodes of “ROYAL PAINS” Air on Tuesday Nights at 10/9c

NEW YORK – June 17, 2015 – Transgender teen Nicole Maines makes her acting debut as a guest star in ROYAL PAINS episode 704, “The Prince of Nucleotides,” which will air on Tuesday, June 23 at 10/9c on USA Network. Maines will play “Anna,” a teenage choreographer who is transgender, whom Hank (Mark Feuerstein, “Defiance,” “Good Morning Miami”) treats and soon discovers that some of the hormones she is taking for her transition may be endangering her health. USA Network has partnered with PFLAG, —the original family and ally organization uniting people who are LGBTQ with families, friends, and allies—to raise awareness of people who are transgender and to provide support and resources to viewers. The partnership includes a special PSA, featuring Mark Feuerstein, which will run during the episode on June 23 and on social media.

Nicole Maines is a 17-year old senior high school student who made history in January 2014 by winning a landmark transgender rights case in the state of Maine. This was the first time that a state court has ruled that transgender students be allowed to use the bathrooms that align with their gender identity.

Maines has a strong voice that reaches beyond the state of Maine to promote change and equality for all. At the young age of thirteen, she served as the keynote speaker at the 2011 GLAAD banquet and in 2012. Maines and her family received the Roger Baldwin Award, the Maine ACLU’s highest award for civil right advocacy. In November of 2014, Maines was named one of Glamour Magazine's 50 Inspiring Women of the Year, when she was chosen to represent the state of Maine in their feature: "Hometown Heroes: 50 Phenomenal Women of the Year Who Are Making a Difference.”

“Playing Anna on ROYAL PAINS was an incredible experience and the amount of warmth and encouragement that I received from the cast and crew was so unexpected, but welcome,” said Maines. “Everyone's words were so supportive and kind and they really made me feel part of the cast immediately, and made my very first television acting experience a pleasure --one I will remember forever.”

"The Maines’ family story has been a journey of love, education, acceptance and celebration, but initially they thought they were on this path alone. Now, as part of the extended PFLAG family, we are so proud to see Nicole step confidently into this challenging and groundbreaking role on ROYAL PAINS,” said Elizabeth R. Kohm, Deputy Executive Director, PFLAG National. “With the visibility of people who are transgender at an all-time high, it is more important than ever that PFLAG's support and educational resources are easy to find and readily available. We are thrilled to partner with our friends at USA Network on a public service announcement to bring that important, and potentially life-saving, information to its viewers.”

This very special episode of ROYAL PAINS, episode 704 “The Prince of Nucleotides,” (airing on Tuesday, June 23 at 10/9c) starts off with Hank (Feuerstein) treating a transgender teenager (guest star, Maines) who learns her life is more complicated than he expected. Evan (Paulo Costanzo, “Joey”) and Jeremiah (Ben Shenkman, “Drop Dead Diva”) host a gala fundraiser for the Center for Rare & Orphan Diseases and Jeremiah makes a major purchase for the lab. Meanwhile, Paige (Brooke D’Orsay, “Two and a Half Men”) and Evan's journey to parenthood takes an unexpected turn, and Divya (Reshma Shetty, “30 Rock”) grows closer to Prince Quami (guest star, Wole Parks, “Devious Maids”). Vanessa Williams (“Ugly Betty,” “Desperate Housewives”) also guest stars.

ROYAL PAINS is written and executive produced by Andrew Lenchewski and Michael Rauch. Rich Frank also serves as executive producer along with Jeff Kwatinetz from Prospect Park. Connie Burge, Carol Flint and Jon Sherman are executive producers. Jack Bernstein and Jessica Ball are co-executive produce. The series comes from Universal Cable Productions. ROYAL PAINS films entirely in New York (Long Island and Brooklyn) and at locations around the Hamptons. New episodes of season seven air Tuesday nights at 10/9c through July 21 on USA Network.

So stoked for Jimmy's backstory in S2 of You're The Worst. I need this show back in my life NOW!

Madoff is definitely rounding up the troops. It's it's shaping to be an excellent cast.

AoS: I personally don't think softening Bobbi up would make me like or care about her more. What a disappointment that character was for me...
