Orphan Black - History Yet to Be Written (Season Finale) - Review: "Neolutionism"

21 Jun 2015

Wow… Wow wow wow I can’t believe Orphan Black third season is now over with last night final episode “History Yet to Be Written”. It was probably Orphan Black best season finale (yet), it made sense because it was this season was Orphan Black best.
This season has been such a great ride, so emotional and also so informative and revealing about the Leda mythology. The Castor storylines was an excellent plot device, it created a new enemy that brought the sisters closer together. It has reinforced their strength as sisters because they were so different from Rudy and his brothers (except for Mark).
And I’m so proud our Leda sisters won the race to find the original first ! Sarah has proven to be particularly resourceful and smart, once again. It turned out the original was the Castor and Leda originals, in one person : Kendall Malone, Mrs S mother. I was very happy when they explained why Sarah and her sisters didn’t look like Kendall, they’re the expression of her female cell line, the Castor are the male one’s and Kendall is the combination of both. Amazing weird science.
Kendall was so much fun at first, I loved her bad attitude and colorful language. She didn’t like being there, being tested again after all those years. She didn’t like being confronted to her past, to her daughter but she still helped her younger sisters. Her scene with Cosima was especially touching, I was really looking forward Kendall meeting another version of herself. Cosima’s attitude with Kendall was so good, she kept being so calm. She was clearly thrilled to meet her original, for the scientist clone, it was a big moment.
But Kendall’s best scene was clearly with Sarah and Mrs S, where she finally explained how Sarah came to be Mrs S daughter, it was Kendall who requested it to Ethan, after he came back to tell the truth to her about he had done. Ethan needed to protect his last clone from the Neolutionists (those damn people).

So, now it was revealed Kendall Malone was Castor and Leda original, Sarah and her family had to make sure Castor would never get any DNA sample from her, to cure their boys clones and continue their evil plan of sterilizing woman. And in order to do that, Sarah had no choice to make a deal with Ferdinand, a lesser of two evils. I totally agreed with Sarah’s decision, Castor needed to be stopped at any cost.
Sarah’s meeting with Ferdinand in Delphine’s office was great. I loved it when she talked like Rachel, it was so weird to watch Sarah with Rachel voice. That was another moment that made me realized how great and talented Tatiana Maslany is. So, Ferdinand knew about Rachel and Sarah offered him the original DNA samples, so Topside could restart the cloning program (I scream a little there) but Coady would never get her hands on the DNA and Castor would die out. Ferdinand agreed and so Sarah put her plan in motion.
First, Sarah and Felix went to get Mark and Gracie. Badass Felix kicking the door was hilarious and kinda hot too. I was as surprised as him it worked. Sarah wasn’t happy to see Gracie after her betrayal but she needed Mark’s help. Mark played Rudy on a little video message for Coady, so she and her team would get to a fake location, only to get captured by Ferdinand ! Good riddance ! I wish Ferdinand would have killed Virginia but she has information so Topside will use her probably, I can understand that.

Poor Rudy was now alone, without his mother, but he had no idea. She sent him on a mission to get Allison Hendrix, as she was the only member of Sarah’s family not to be hidden. It was her big election day for school trustee, so it made her a easy target. But Rudy, still suffering from his brain sickness, didn’t count on Helena showing up instead of Allison. I was so thrilled Allie and Donnie didn’t fall into Coady’s trap.
The duct tape fight scene between Helena and Rudy was amazing. I loved Helena so much n that scene, from the start when she was all bad ass and cold, ready to get rid of the Castor clone to the end when took pity on him. I really wanted to watch them fight, but it was clear Helena was stronger than him, because his sickness was weakening him badly. Helena showed empathy, and their talk about their purpose  was  really beautiful.
Helena is the only Leda clone who has shared about the same experience as the Castor clones. She didn’t what she was, but she was trained to kill, she was conditioned since her childhood by a military environment. But, meeting with her sisters totally changed Helena, it made her see the world differently, she understood she was a part of the world and she had a family. She wasn't just a killer, a project. That was the big difference between Leda and Castor. Rudy never really had a family, he confused Coady for his mother but she was actually using her for her deadly program. Rudy’s death wasn’t shown, so maybe there’s a hope… Or Helena just sliced his throat.

Sarah's plan was going perfectly, Castor was out of the picture, and Ferdinand was getting blood and tissue samples from Kendall to get back to Topside but of course something happened and the bad news came from Delphine.
Since she got her new position at Dyad, Delphine has changed so much, she has grown colder and darker. She showed how far she was willing to go to protect Cosima and her sisters, and I love her for that. And in “History Yet to Be Written”, she was again excellent and Evelyn Brochu portrayed her perfectly once again in this finale.
Everything changed when Delphine went to see Rachel at Dyad. We knew it wasn’t Rachel but Krystal and Delphine quickly found it out too. First, she noticed the wonderful manicure and then Krystal woke up and slapped her. That was fun and so surprising. But Krystal was all panicked when she woke up and she recognized Delphine as the family doctor from her salon. I was so thrilled Krystal was awake and back ! Yay ! I’m really looking forward her character, I can’t wait for the scene where Sarah or Cosima will tell her everything about Leda cloning. I can't wait to see her face.
Delphine knew Nealon was a traitor but she had no idea who he was exactly and for who he was working for. So, she interrogated him at Dyad. Delphine was exceptional in that scene, so cold and yet she seemed so fragile and shaken off when Nealon revealed Rachel was still alive, hidden somewhere. What made Delphine really worried was Nealon's revelation he was a neolutionist !

Nealon also revealed to Delphine that the Neolutionists were everywhere, at Leda and Castor from the beginning of the project. Holy doodle ! And then he attacked her ! He really had friends everywhere. It was so scary and disgusting with Nealon worm and blood in his mouth.. Ew… I was scared for Delphine but luckily she had her little gun on her and shot him dead ! Badass Delphine ! But before dying, Nealon made an ominous promises to Delphine, she would die before the next day ! What, she better not ! I can't lose Delphine...
Anyways, Delphine had to prevent Topside from getting the original sample, it could fall into the neolutionists hands so she called Sarah and told her everything. I was glad Ferdinand didn't turn out to be one of them, but his assistant was so he beat the crap out of him with a baseball bat. Oh, I'm really loving Ferdinand more and more now, I hope James Frain will be back next year. So, Sarah's plan was put on hold, Ferdinand agreed Kendall' samples couldn't be sent to Topside, she needed to stay hidden.
I'm really excited about the Neolutionists coming to play as the new threat against the Leda sisters. It will be such a great threat for the next season, they are everywhere, anyone can be one of them (Shay ? Jesse ? Donnie ? Scott ?) It might be the scariest threat against Leda. And they proved it in the finale : they shot Delphine in a parking lot !!!

After Nealon’s threat, Delphine knew something was going to happen her and so she put her things in order. She visited Shay, and gave her a Dyad card to give to Cosima, when and if she wants to know the truth, what the hell does she mean ? And she told Shay to be good to Cosima and she was a good fit, basically giving her blessing for Cosima and Shay to get back together. It was surprising, but Delphine always had Cosima’s best interest at heart. If Shay can make Cosima happy, then they deserve a chance. Delphine sacrificed everything she had for Cosima and her sisters, that was so tragic.
And finally, Delphine came to say goodbye to Cosima, and Cosima had no idea what was really happening. Evelyn Brochu and Tatiana Maslany were amazing in that scene, their chemistry was mind blowing. They broke my heart with that kiss and the way they looked at each other. After everything they have been through this season, I really hope they would end up back together, they both deserved to have a happy moment for themselves but their love story was a tragic one, it makes great TV and great drama so they didn't get their happy ending.
Still, I have hope for Delphine. Her wound looked bad and she was losing a lot of blood sure, but she was still alive and she could survive. I mean Helena and Mark survived their gun shots and I really believe they were dead. Maybe it’s denial, but for me, there’s a chance Delphine will be back. The neolutionists could take her with them as a prisoner and a bargain for the original.

And there was an even bigger twist about the neolutionists, and it involved Rachel. She spent the finale locked up in that weird large room, asking who was keeping her there. It was only at the end of the episode it was revealed, when Charlotte first came in ! I was so surprised to see her back, she hadn’t much changed since last season finale but she revealed to Rachel that she was going to be her new mother, as Dr Susan Duncan requested ! She is not dead, as many of you had already guessed.
Rachel got to see her mother again, and after being so sad and angry at losing her father a second time, I fear Rachel will do anything for her mother. Susan and Rachel working together would be one of the most dangerous thing for Sarah and her sisters. I’m so looking forward watching Rachel and Susan together.

Finally, the finale ended on a happy note, it was different from last season dance clone, this season it was a dinner scene, and it totally fitted in this season theme of family.
The dinner for Allison’s election at Bubbles was one of the best scene of Orphan Black. I think it was the first time that the whole clone club was reunited, only Gracie and Mark were missing, but it felt so good to watch Sarah, Mrs S, Felix, Cosima, Scott, Helena, Donnie and Allison, celebrating Allison becoming the new school trustee ! (Take that Marci Coat). It felt so good to watch all them enjoying some regular and fun time together, as a big extended weird family. They all deserved this happy and quiet moment after a very intense and scary season...
"History Yet to Be Written" ended on Sarah, Mrs S and Kendall visiting Kira ! Oh great it was to see her cute little face in that big snow coat. The weird family, they all shared some DNA, was reunited. It was a beautiful moment, a perfect way to end this amazing and intense season.

Clones notes :
- I loved Sarah’s line “I’m immune” with Ferdinand, so badass.
-  Rachel and her new prosthetic eye. It looked weird but so awesome.
- I was glad Art was back, I like how they used his character, it's always perfectly balanced.
- Donnie found Jesse and brough him back to Helena ! Their sex car scene was great but honestly, I don’t really care for him.
- I would have loved to see more of Mark and Gracie together
- Do you think we will ever see Virginia Coady again ?
- Did you prefer the clone dance or the clone dinner ?

PS: A heartfelt thank you for all of you guys commenting this season with me on STV. Honestly, it has been the best experience I’ve ever had here at STV. I’ve never enjoyed so much writing previews and reviews for a show and discussing it. It was a wonderful experience, hope you enjoyed it as well. Looking forward reading your comments on the season finale and I hope I’ll see you next year !

  1. Thanks for your review! I cannot believe Delphine is dead...I still have some hope but the writers are saying contradicting stuff about her, so not easy to know what is the truth ;)

  2. Let's thank @EvelyneBrochu for all that she has done for #OrphanBlack!! #ThankYouEvelyneBrochu

  3. The dance scene is legendary but the dinner was great too. Especially Helena with her sugar, the toast and of course the ukranian speciality (which was a reference to the dream at the beginning of the season).

  4. Thank you Romain...Delphine needs to come back.

  5. that's a great review! I really hope that delphine didn't die!

  6. From the post mortum stuff I've read, Rudy is dead. I thought so when watching the scene, but one can never be sure. Those moments between Helena and Rudy were bloody brilliant. She's the most adorable pycho I've ever seen and her compassion for him, as he died, was very moving. Two things of note here: (1) that garage has seen a lot of action and (2) best use of Duct Tape EVER.

When they mentioned Mrs. Duncan becoming a Neolutionist and then Dr. Nealon's big reveal, I knew she was alive so I wasn't shocked when she finally came to Rachel. That said, I am curious about Charlotte. Why isn't she with Marion? Is Marion also a Neolutionist?

Unlike a lot of people, I was never a Cosmia/Delphine shipper, so I wasn't saddened by the prospect of her death. That said, her final moments with Cosima were beautifully tragic and I'm curious how it all will play out.

Your reviews have been something I've really enjoyed this season, so thank you. It's gonna be a long wait for season four!

  7. You're welcome :)
Well, the writers may want to keep her possible return as a surprise and they haven't confirmed her death, they're still quite vague about it.

  8. The dinner scene was excellent, a bit less spectacular than the dance scene true. Oh yeah I didn't get the food reference ! Helena is just the best when there's food :D

  9. Rudy is probably dead but we didn't see his body and Ari Millen is definitely back next season so maybe he'll be at the Hendrix, locked up in their garage, doing soaps ^^
I think now I'll always have duct tape in my house, just in case...

I can't picture Marion being a neolutionist, it would be a real shocker but maybe.. Or maybe Susan stole Charlotte from her, just like she got Rachel back. Her return was a little surprise, I wish she would have interacted more with Rachel already !

Thanks ! 9 months is going to be a long time but at least, we're sure to have a fourth season :) and I'm sure its going to be brilliant :)

  10. Well I think her return would fit marvellously because she's intangled in the story now and she could bring some new stuff with her, plotwise. She would be a powerful character. And there's another thing, when she turned back and looked at her follower, she smiled for a moment, one of those resigned smiles, like she was saying "I knew it" or " of course it's you!".

  11. I didn't see her die, I saw her get shot, and get shot in way that has been way less abigious than other characters like Mark and Helena and they both made it.

I think Delphine is entangled and probably is hitting the side lines for a bit and this way we can get more into the party that shot her (presumably Neolution) and get to nknow Shay a bit better...

  12. I didn't think this was the best season, Ari Millers performance paled in comparison to Tatiana's performance. (That said, I found most of the Castor clones very alike.) The expanded background into the Leda and Castor history was very interesting, but that didn't really bring me to the edge of my seat. Season 2 all the way for me!

This finale had not enough Felix screen time :( That said, it was still an excellent episode. I really like how Team Sarah outsmarted the rest and the discovery of the Rachel and Krystal switch was great aswell! That moment where one of the clones will confront Krystal about who she really is will indeed be great :)
Loved all the Kendall interactions, I think she is going to stay with Kira next season.

  13. Fantastic review! And what an amazing episode!

At the beginning of the season I though Rachel would get a cybernetic eye from some lower department of Neolution/DYAD, but I had given that up when they went with Rachel being discognative! But what a surprise that they are bigger players! I was going to write a fan-fic called the "Freaky-Leekies" and write about people who have gotten involved with them and go a little more 'fringe', because I never expected that they would be bigger than DYAD or Topline!! XD

I think Ferninad was my favorite part! It was awesome to see how quickly he could kill and how he could pic up on what was happening! I'm looking forward to seeing where his character goes next season, should James Frain return!

Seeing Susan Duncan was a surprise too, but I was tipped off a bit at the beginning of the episode when they were talking about "extinguishing" and kept showing the "fire exit" door! I thought there had to be something pertaining to a fire in the episode...

Rachel's room is kind of curious too! It has drawings similar to the ones in her book etched in glass above her bed and in other spots I think. I'm also curious about the Finches? Maybe I missed something????

Delphine I don't think is dead! I have seen characters survive scrapes worse than that---the shot wasn't near the heart either, so I think she will probably be abducted and she'll introduce us more deeper into the world of Neolition! (and I hope that means some freaky science). This will also help open the door with Shay a bit, which I was disappointed not go further with her in the finale.

And my lord, what was that "worm"? Is it Larva? How was it significant to their purpose??!

It was also nice to see the series end on a mostly happy note. The dinner was cute and I love the final scene as well---it was cool how they opened the season with a dying dream of summer and how we ended with happy scenes in winter...
Seeing Crystal wake up was hysterical! I think she will fit in best with Allison! Fun also to see Jesse too! And glad that Art also made an appearance!

I don't know if I buy Mark is the last Castor clone, but I am glad that at least for the time being he has become a singularity and I hope he and Gracie will still configure in next season! The Castor brothers were great fun, but he is one with the bigger heart and really the strongest through line with that story line, although I suspect we will see Coady again.

And lastly, I loved how the opening scene was of the dream of summer fun and how the series ended with mostly happy scenes in winter! It was cool even seeing Aurora in winter being the opening scene for the episode! Makes me wonder if there is more to that?

    I need comic-con NOW! XD

Thanks for a another great season of reviews, thoughts, and conversation Romain!!! :)

  14. Well it almost seemed like Marion and Leekie might have been a "thing" at some point, so I don't think it is that far fetched, but at the very least a cool juxtaposition to with Rachel and Kira from last season!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think the reason it comes off that way is because 1. they are different because they are "militarized" so they had to seem more alike than different to point out how they are generally different than Leda--that the variety, upbringing, and purpose went in different direction. 2. this was a way to keep them from becoming too big for the show and allows for Mark to be an "token" character. I think if they would have over done with Castor and allowed them variety and Freedom that Leda Clones have, the writers would loose Sarah's over all perspective and drive as the show's main vehicle, not to mention the idea that 'your brother' can be you enemy and doesn't love you is another interesting idea--but we see that the Leda clones mostly have some compassion and can act independantly and that also separates them. Now with that being said, doesn't necessarily make me think that there can't be other Castor clones out there or that one day a third set could be introduced---but they'll have to build that up, which I think Castor has been a good step in that direction should the writers eventually blow the top off this thing in later seasons!

    ReplyDelete
  16. You think the team will be at Comic con this year?

I hope you are right about Delphine...I find the writers comments strange and Evelyn has not acknowledged her departure, they might be playing us?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I want to buy the X-Company DVD, but instead of being formatted in Region 1, it says it's NTSC and so I don't know if that is truly equivalent, since usually NTSC is reserved for game formatting? But anyways, she is so good in OB that I am curious about this Canadian series! All I hear is good things!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well they went the last two years and they also were renewed for the fourth season straight away--so they should have things to talk about! I also know that Cosima's Comic Issue # four that was supposed to be released already, has been pushed back and now seems to have "special pre-sale" comic con 2015 cover (saw it on EBAY) featuring the five main Lead clones together in a car with Sarah driving!

I hope I am right about Delphine too. It's one thing to loose Paul, but I think Delphine, Art, Felix, and Mrs. S should be longer haul characters IMO. But like always, I guess only time will tell. ::Fingers crossed::

    ReplyDelete
  19. Great, I hope we will learn more about Cophine during Comic con, who knows? 9 months until season 4 seems like an eternity!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yes! Way too long to wait! ^^

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think Delphine, Art, Felix, and Mrs. S should be longer haul characters IMO. I concur :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Whether Delphine lives or dies may depend on how available Evelyne is... though I am willing to bet Nealon's "one time offer" to join Neolution may have been one she can't refuse, and we see Delphine and Rachel forced to work together - hopefully on their escape ,)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Quite possibly best episode yet. Very satisfied. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ok Romain.. I'm going to read your review and all the comments when I get a chance, but I'm riding a high from the finale and can't focus haha.. I think it might've been THE BEST episode of the series and one of my favorites of the television season for sure. But I'd say my most burning question which relates to my theory of who shot Delphine is who was she talking about when she said "What will happen to her" Cosima?Rachel? Help me out y'all!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Whaoh, I have to agree with you : it's the best season finale so far.
Loved all the scenes in it. Sarah, Mrs S and Malone are such an amazing trio. Felix breaking down the door was epic.
Helena, Cosima, Alison, Donnie, Scott and Art were awesome too, I really enjoy that last scene. It was so heartwarming to see everyone together after everything they've been through.
Poor Delphine, I really did not want her to die. She became so badass and so determined this season , I really started to enjoy the character.
Well, this was my favorite season of Orphan Black , I thank you for reviewing it every week and I hope I will read it next year.
Maintenant les choses sérieuses reprennent, j'ai un bac à passer !

    ReplyDelete
  26. If you want a serious headspin, Delphine might have been talking about all of the Leda clones as a collective her... and about the only thing we can say for sure about who shot her is that they were almost certainly Neolutionist. And, you have Finale Focus-Loss Syndrome ,)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thank you Romain for your review - great writing again!

*BE WARNED, DELPHINE RELATED ESSAY COMING UP!*

I was very sad to see Delphine hurt at the end of the episode, however, I do think it was a necessary action in terms of the plot for season 4 i.e. Delphine's life hanging in the balance could potentially mean a reversal of Cosima and Delphine's roles in a patient/doctor relationship; if Delphine is captured then a unique insight into Neolutionism (she could meet Rachel and discover her fate too) might be seen and finally, another possibility is that she might be used as a powerful bargaining tool for Neolutionists with Leda in order to gain the original source material they want, as you have already mentioned :) The stakes have been raised with Delphine's demise - as a plot device it proves how dangerous Neolutionists are, and secondly, once the clones find out about her injury or possible death (really hope not), it will spur them into action and could force them to make difficult decisions. What if the Neolutionists have Delphine and ask to swap her for the original genetic material... what kind of dilemma will this cause?!

I refuse to say Delphine died in the season 3 finale - she was still alive and breathing in our last view of her, and although it looked a messy gun wound, it does look like a survivable wound - It would be a perfect way to send a threat out to the viewers that Neolutionists are dangerous people and now these are the stakes, while still keeping her alive. I sincerely hope that Delphine's rapidly evolving journey during season 3 is not put to waste by killing her off so soon - she still has a lot to offer as a character.

As for the writer's comments circulating after the finale about Delphine's demise, I would not believe anything they say - as we know from Helena who was supposedly killed off in season 1 by a gun shot wound, no character is dead until you see a dead body. The writers even admitted then that they lied continuously to protect Helena's fate - that's what drama is about! TV dramas are meant to create tension through cliffhangers in order to retain the viewer's attention, if they didn't do these horrible things then the wait between seasons wouldn't be so nerve-wracking for us! If Delphine was shown as actually dead in this finale we wouldn't have the excitement of seeing where her story leads next season - it is also the only cliffhanger. So we didn't see a dead Delphine Cormier in the car park, we saw a wounded Delphine - she is still alive and we will hopefully find out her fate in season 4, which I very much look forward to :)

There are no confirmed reports that Delphine is dead - every single interview I have read with the show's creators says something different about Delphine's fate... they are not revealing anything, and also they do lie about these things as explained previously. Anyway, Delphine supporters should have faith that Delphine may return at any point in s4, I am confident in this :) EBro's schedule is no busier this coming year than it was last year either, so scheduling problems will probably be limited.

    #prayfordelphine

Here's a particularly good snippet from an OB season 3 finale interview:

Q: Until viewers actually see a character take their last breath, any "death" could be questioned…

    A: That's probably a good idea.

If you got to this point in my essay then congratulations and thanks for reading - let me know your thoughts

    ReplyDelete
  28. Just want to say thanks Romain for your review. I shall miss OB and your reviews of it - until next time! And I too am keeping the faith - I reckon Delphine is alive. I wonder if Evelyne can't do season 4 because X Company has more episodes for its season 2 (10 not 8 this time) and so she might not be available for enough episodes of OB to make her character worthwhile for the time being- so maybe they will bring Delphine back for the final season? Or at least the finale of season 4. If there is enough interest in the character (and there has been a lot on Twitter) I am sure they will find a way to bring her back. They did keep a door open by not showing a scene of her dead. Still breathing - still alive. :) See you next season!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, I am with you on this. It could be denial speaking, but I believe there is a form of hope. Maybe they'll take her as a bargaining chip for the original (even though it looked as if she had been abandoned after getting shot). The interviews they have done post-finale are conflicting so it seems they're stirring the pot a bit. Only thing is the tweets between Ebro and Tat would suggest that's the end. Now we have to wait another 10 months!! I'm thinking Scott or Shay shot Delphine, just because it came across that she knew the person 'what's going to happen to her? I'm swaying more towards Scott because I can picture him being a Neolutionist, however I do think she'd have been more shocked if it had been him, so that makes me think Shay. Time will tell I guess...

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm with you on that! The only thing that makes me doubt is the conflicting schedule of Evelyne. X Company is basically shooting at the same time that OB...But they found a way this year, so why not next year right?

From a writer perspective, I cannot believe you would kill a character with such a huge fan base! They know Cophine is extremely popular...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yeah the Cophine fan base is easily the biggest for Orphan Black, they know they'd lose so many viewers if they had killed off Delphine indefinitely at the end of the finale... Keeping her alive is making us all panic and they know we will tune into season 4 to find out what's happened to her! Another interesting theory is that Delphine asked Mrs S to stage her death after Cosima said she was "good at that kind of stuff" - this would allow her to escape and return in s4.

I think the scheduling conflict issue the writers raise is just bullsh*t, they've never mentioned it for any other actor on there - I think it's part of the cover up. True the series are filmed close together, but Tatiana Maslany has many projects going on throughout the year and can maintain a multitude of different clone characters which would take significantly longer to shoot than Delphine's scenes. X Company is being filmed between July-October for season 2, while OB will start filming around October time... This makes me unsure that evelyne's schedules would majorly clash - she could reappear later into s4. Actors make their way round these scheduling conflicts all the time, I'm sure she will for Orphan Black :)

  32. Good to know concerning the shooting planning! I really hope your theory is true! If she is really dead that would be soooo disappointing!

  33. i'm really convinced that she's alive :) there would be no point to killing her - she has so much more to tell us as a character! Paul's death was kinda necessary because he had no purpose after uncovering the Castor sterilisation plans. I believe Delphine is still necessary in developing the Neolution plot... after all, she worked with Leekie for a long time, she knows a lot about it.

After that kiss as well I am sure Shayisma is over with, Cophine are definitely back on - Cosima's apology and acceptance of Delphine's actions essentially made clear that she still loves her despite the hell they've been through :) The writers and Evelyne said Cophine would be stronger by the end of this season, Delphine being shot would also propel this forward as Cosima realises the danger they're in - its a good way to make their relationship more endgame. If Delphine was left untouched it would also be a bit of a cop-out after all the danger she's put herself in - Cosima is going to have to fight for her now!

  34. If you are right, I'm sending you a box of belgian chocolates ;)) (I'm from Belgium)

I hope we will have the confirmation that she is back on season 4 before April 2016!

  35. No worries, essays are good! :D I just put myself through the wringer by watching the scene like 4 times (cry, cry) and now I'm still uncertain. When she's walking towards the white car it sounds like a heavy-footed man walking behind which makes me think Scott but then at the end when she asks 'what will happen to her?' it sounds like heels, damnnn. Although I don't know how obvious they'd make it should it be Shay, they are keeping the identity hidden but I'm unsure if they're selling it as a 'whodunnit?' or just simply to add a bit more mystery. The slight nod Delphine does, to me, seems like 'I knew it' suspicions confirmed sort of thing - Shay? Then I go back to thinking Scott because I can just see him having an evil side being very interested in science and Neolution, plus being on the inside working with Cosima. I just thought, I remember the press release said 'a life hangs in the balance' - now no one else but Delphine was injured that way so it has to be referring to her! I'm looking for hope wherever I can find it. I said before the finale aired, if Delphine died how would they carry on? Cosima and Delphine are more than just their relationship, if they still want to focus on the science it wouldn't be the same with Scott & Cos. Killing her is like S or Felix.
