"Hannibal" started its season in a very unexpected way. Last week season premiere divided a lot of fans. While some people thought that the episode was very interesting and offered the opportunity to develop some characters others thought that it was disappointing because they didn’t tell us what happened after the butchery in Hannibal’s house.
In my opinion, it was a great idea because we focused on two characters and deepened their feelings regarding their new life. This ellipsis was brilliant because it allowed us to guess by ourselves what happened during this time and try to put the puzzle together and that’s how I can differentiate a really good show from an ordinary one. A show where they tell you everything and a show where they push you to use your imagination and analyze everything so you can read between the lines.

Anyway, if last week's episode divided the fans, this week's episode will not. With this episode, we can say that ''Hannibal’’ is back on track. For those who were disappointed last week, you’re going to get a lot of answers and see what happened in those 8 months. However, you’re not going to get all the answers again because this week's episode is also going to focus on two characters. I can tell you one of them: Will, but the other character is a very unexpected surprise you won’t see coming (I think i’ve learned how to tease now, right?).
More seriously, the episode is mainly focused on Will and his ‘’new’’ life, because in a way, I think that what happened in Hannibal’s house changed him. I don’t know how far it changed him, but it did. We follow him through the episode searching for Hannibal in Florence, taking the path that he took for the last 8 months.

That’s why I think that this episode is very similar to the last one and also very different. Different because it gives us a lot of answers and clues concerning what happened after the butchery and similar because it focuses on one character especially and it leaves us very skeptical regarding his motives. Indeed, last week we were confused by Badelia’s motives: is she forced to be in this '’relationship’’ with Hannibal or she’s willingly staying with him? This week, as the relationship between Hannibal and Will is in a very complex position, we are asking ourselves: is he searching Hannibal in the context of a ‘’hunt’’ or is he searching him to repent himself and try to reconnect with Hannibal? Frankly, I can’t really tell but I think they're going with the second one and this doesn't displease me at all.

In this episode you’ll also discover a new character who is going to be important in the next episodes in my opinion. He will interact with Will to try to understand his motives as he's a detective and the Florence police department discovered the murder Hannibal committed in the previous episode. You'll learn that this detective had a previous history with our serial killer.

And as usual, the aesthetic is perfect, flawless and exquisite. On the other hand Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen are tremendously talented. And finally, to tease you one last time: remember that scene in the first trailer when Will is searching Hannibal in a cellar saying « Hannibal? I forgive you »? Well, this scene is in this episode.
Oh, and the most shocking scene of the episode is related to the other character accompanying Will. The shocker is not his identity (although his identity is shocking too!) but through the episode you will realize something and it’s going to be a very big surprise. I didn’t see it coming at all. You'll find out soon enough !
