That would've made a great series finale if the show hadn't been picked up for next season.

  2. My dreams of a Kate pregnancy were crushed (could have used the win when every other show I watch is going to emotionally destroy me) but the end was still cute.

And holy shit at Castle killing the serial killer. That was intense.

There has to be more to Beckett being asked for state senator.....

  4. It was awesome and it would have been a great series finale. I am surprised that Andrew would be able to pen such a tight thriller.Especially that ending. Marvelous!

  5. She aced her Captain's test too so she has a choice.

  6. Let the future come true! I freaking jumped out of my chair and went oh hell yea when they said they wanted Kate to run for Senator. Thinking back to S06E05 Time Will Tell - when Simon from the future said Kate would be a Senator in the future and Castle will write Poetry, which he could now that his desire for Mystery by have come to a peace a bit.

Either way I like the episode, Good mix of Mainly Castle and Kate, and the rest of the Cast. I really liked the end speech and the dinner table with everyone there even the other uniform cops on the other tables.

I can see how if these was a Series Finale it would of been a nice closer but forget that S8 is to come, let the changes happen. I hope they start the process for Kate to run for Senate.

well in theory she should not be allow to take the captain exam without being a sgt and Lt first......I guess they going to ignore that

Did anyone else catch that Kate didn't drink the champagne. She put it to her lips, but she didn't drink any. Season 8

maybe beckett will become captain first then in the future she run for state senator in the series finale so she would get her dream job to become the captain...it would make both side happy

  10. No cliffhanger. It looks like they were hedging their bets in case Stana didn't sign up for another season.

  11. I wondered about that as well. I guess the promotion track accelerates if you have your own series.

  12. I saw that too :D ....they definitively left few doors open

-Love Lance Reddick in a power role (like Broyles in Fringe), he plays such a commanding figure.
-Even if they didn't do the time traveler episode you kinda had to see this coming for Beckett. She's basically a minor celebrity/paragon of justice with a minor celebrity husband who has backed party candidates before. If she existed in the real world party leaders would be salivating over grooming her for Governor or a national congressional seat.
-On the time traveler episode... even though its a playful show I'm starting to dislike that episode a little more. Call me crazy but I've never been a fan of fixed futures.
-I sometimes think they really need to wait until the end of an episode before listing the guest cast. Pretty much the second I saw Wallace Langham's name I figured he had to be the killer.
-Had a definite wrap up feel, still hope though they bring in back for at least a half a season.

    Overall, good episode.

  14. No that is not true. They can waive those things for political reasons. Taking down the Dragon is one big political reason!

  15. This was a great season finale I didn't expect it to be this good, it gave me everything I wanted from this show...Season 8!! Let's gi

  16. When you watch it, you kinda feel it was almost filmed as a Series Finale. Im guessing at the time they didnt honestly know if the show was coming back.

  17. That's how all shows who know they might not make it should film their last ep. Not with the Main Lead being shot, not with shotgun going off not knowing who shot who, not with a swarm of cops coming to get you thinking you killed someone, not with ending before you start an investigation on your sheriff father thinking he killed someone, not with its a long story...

  18. Exactly. I think too many shows tried to wrap things up too neatly. I love it when a show ends on a hook /non closure and you are left there going 'huh?'

This was written and filmed before they knew the fate of the show. Andrew and Terri wanted it to be a season/series finale, that way it could close one chapter and upon another (Season 8) or give as an ending to the series if just in case ABC would have cancelled the show.

I don't see her as a Senator either. I can picture her as a Capt. I got a kick out of the AU Capt. So, I want to take a look at Capt Castle :)

  21. This was a awesome episode. One of the best finales in a long time.
I loved Castle's speech. And I loved that it is left open for season 8.
Now the long wait for season 8. Roll on September. ☺

No, nothing to do with Stana; it was because when the episode was wrotte and filmed they didn´t know its fate (Andrew and Terri said they knew there was a good chance of not being renewed, so they wanted the last episode to serve as a season OR series finale):)

  24. Awesome finale. Kate's speech to the review board was epic and I am glad they gave her the chance to defend herself and show how strong-willed she is. Kate didn't back down and I loved it. When they asked her to run for senator, I was blown away. I loved the evening meeting on the swings between Castle and Beckett and of course the end speech. It was the perfect mix of everything we've seen between not only Caskett, but the other characters as well. It ended perfectly. Kudos Castle cast and crew. Awesome episode!!

  25. I loved it, it was very well written and intense Episode and Castle was the one to take out the serial
Killer, taking care of his nightmare from his childhood, I liked how everyone was incorporated into the story, it was written a lot like it would have been a finale, Thank God that isn't the case happy everyone is back on board for season eight, I've been a big fan for the entire run and I'll be here "Always"

  26. Would have been a good series finale. With the references to the pilot and all. I liked that Castle was anounced as the master of the macabre, same as Gina did all those years ago. And of course the you have no idea bit xD
I'm still glad we get a season 8 of course ;) And YES! Just saw that Stana coming back is official now, how awesome is that? =)

  27. I saw that scene again and she definitely took a sip.

  28. A finale without a cliffhanger? That has to be a first.

I thought I also saw her not drink, they cut away so it's hard to be certain but at least I know I wasn't imagining it! I think a baby is the next natural step for them and if they are thinking season 8 is the last they might as well include it. They can play around with time lines as well and have the new season pick up where they left off or fast forward a few months to when she is visibly pregnant. Either way I'm glad they are back!

  30. I just saw it, i THINK she took a sip but then AGAIN they showed a weird shot of her looking at her glass. So it could be either.
