CSI Las Vegas - CBS Considering Short Final Season

1 May 2015

I hear CBS is considering different options to give CSI a final chapter next season, including a short run — as short as six episodes — but it is not a sure thing.

  1. Get the original cast all involved (that are still alive) for this, it would be perfection.

  2. Yes! Finish it already!

  3. I stopped watching about season 600 or so, and other than a couple of things here and there with drama in the characters' personal lives (which always took forever to address again) there were no arcs or anything. Did that change? If not it seems a little pointless either way, but the show's been running so long it'd be rude not to give fans an "official" final season.

  4. This would be the perfect thing to air Thursdays at 10 during November and December as filler before they launch the new drama there in January

  5. It's fair to give it a final season for the fall and just end it this year. CSI is on season 16 and it has grown stale. Every fan deserves a happy ending.

  6. Great news for the fans,i guess.

  7. I doubt this will happen though.

  8. Did i miss the announcement that Elementary was canceled or move to another night?

  9. It will be renewed. The 2015/2016 schedules will be arriving soon.

This show deserves a proper ending ! It made history for both CBS and TV in general. I hope they'll give it a final season.
They also need to bring some old cast members back for the final (William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Eads and Paul Guilfoyle)

  11. Good! I don't care how many episodes the final season will have as long as there is one. CSI was a show that gave much to CBS and can't just be cancelled and disappear without a proper finale.

  12. Considering everything CSI did for CBS, a final farewell is definitely in order. Good grief, even non-CBS owned TM got that. Certainly, with all the money CBS earned from CSI and all the spin-offs, it should do the right thing.

  13. The majority of this season cbs was acting like they didn't care about this show at all so I'm confused about the switch. I think the show has run its course though. Almost all of the original cast has left so it feels like it might be done.

yeah but it doesn't mean CBS shouldn't give it few episodes next season to get a proper send-off... They could bring few old original cast members as guest stars for the final

Haven't watched CSI weekly since the beginning of season 13 but quite hope this happens. But only if they bring back Petersen, Helgenberger, Eads, Guilfoyle etc. Otherwise it seems a kind of wasted opportunity.

  16. Yeah, I really don't see this happening, but maybe CBS will surprise me.

  17. I highly doubt this as well.

  18. They should do a short 6 episode final season but make it good. The last few seasons have been a disaster. Bring everyone back, including Grissom, Catherine, Nick, Archie and yes! Even Warrick. I'm sure there's a way they could include him in flashbacks of a murder that was never solved or something. Dead never means dead on TV.

  19. I would be all for a 6 episode windup and out. Leaving Eiizabeth Shue in a coma, and being sort of nonchalant about it, was just rude for a veteran series.

  20. 6 episodes would be better than a cancelation . Having been a fan since season 1, I'd like to have a proper ending and I think the fans deserve it and I agree that the original cast should be there .

  21. That would actually be a great plan...
