  Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. These overnights are your first look at the ratings and a precursor to what could lie ahead. And we take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence.

  Ratings Breakdown:
  CBS topped this first Tuesday in April, besting No. 2 NBC by 21 percent. But it was not a clean sweep – “Chicago Fire” on NBC (#1: 5.7 rating/10 share) beat fading Person of Interest” (5.3/ 9) on CBS by eight percent in the household overnights in the 10 p.m. hour. And the home of “The Voice” owns the evening in adults 18-49 and all the key young adult demographics.
  
  Tops for the night in the overnights, as always, was veteran “NCIS” on CBS at a 10.3/16 from 8-9 p.m. And it led into spin-off “NCIS: New Orleans” at a dominant 8.7/13 from 9-10 p.m. But former time period occupant “NCIS: Los Angeles” was stronger at a 9.4/15 (out of an 11.0/18 for “NCIS”) on the year-ago evening.
  
  On NBC, two-hours of “The Voice” (in place of sitcoms “Undateable” and “One Big Happy” in the 9 p.m. hour) scored a healthy 7.3/11 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m., which ignited the entire evening. Results in the four half hours only fluctuated by fourth-tenths of a rating point.
  
  In week two news, the cancellation clock is rapidly ticking on Fox comedy “Weird Loners,” which dipped by 13 percent from its already anemic opening at a mere 1.3/ 2 at 9:30 p.m. One week earlier, a 1.5/ 2 in the overnights for “Weird Loners” translated into just 1.89 million viewers and a 0.7 rating/2 share in adults 18-49 (based on the Live Plus Same Day data). And this was 24 percent below sinking lead-in “New Girl” (#4: 1.7/ 4 at 9 p.m.), which is not worthy of its recent renewal.
  
  Earlier in the evening on Fox was deteriorating “Hell’s Kitchen” at a 2.5/ 4 from 8-09 p.m., which was 11 percent below the 2.8/ 5 one week earlier. And that 2.8 in the overnights only resulted in 3.35 million viewers and a 1.2/ 4 in adults 18-49 (based on the Live Plus Same Day data). Maybe it is time perhaps for Fox to give the aging cooking competition a temporary rest.
  
  Over at ABC, freshman sitcom “Fresh Off the Boat” opened with a third-place 3.5/ 6 at 8 p.m., which was equal to one week earlier. And it led into an encore telecast (in place of failing “Repeat After Me”) at a 2.5/ 4 at 8:30 p.m., which was a slight improvement from the 2.3/ 4 for “Repeat After Me” one week earlier.
  
  Next on ABC was sophomore “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” at a modest 2.7/ 4 from 9-10 p.m. (#3), which has never been the hit the network was hoping for, followed by older-skewing drama “Forever” at a last-place 2.9/ 5 at 10 p.m. (which was nine percent below the 3.2/ 6 one week earlier). And that 3.2 in the overnights for “Forever” only translated into a 1.1/ 3 among adults 18-49 (out of a 1.4/ 4 in the demo for “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD”).
  
  Over at The CW, week four of drama “iZombie” was hurt minus the lead-in support from an original episode of “The Flash.” It scored a series-low 1.1/ 2 from 9-10 p.m. out of a 1.0/ 2 for “The Flash” encore. And that was 21 percent below the 1.4/ 2 one week earlier.

  About the Daily Ratings
  
  Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
  
  The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
  
  Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
  
  Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
  
  Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
