  • Last Week's Final Adjusted Ratings

  • Early Ratings Analysis by Marc Berman (TVMediaInsights)
The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

NOTE: The opinions expressed here are NOT those of SpoilerTV but of the Author of this Article, Marc Berman.

    Metered Market Wednesday Rating
“The Dovekeepers” Drops By 33 Percent from Night One

    Wednesday 4/01/15

    Household
    Rating/Share
    Fox 6.0/10
    ABC 4.6/ 8
    NBC 4.5/ 8
    CBS 4.4/ 7
    CW 1.6/ 3

-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Wednesday 4/02/14:
    NBC: +18, ABC: + 7, Fox: – 2, CW: – 6, CBS: -30

    ———-

Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. These overnights are your first look at the ratings and a precursor to what could lie ahead. And we take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence.

    -Winners:
    “Survivor” (CBS), “Modern Family” (ABC)

    -Honorable Mention:
    “The Goldbergs” (ABC)

    -Losers (excluding repeats):
“The Dovekeepers,” part two (CBS), “Nashville” (ABC)

    ———-

    Ratings Breakdown:
Two hours of Fox’s “American Idol” topped this first night in April, with a 6.0 rating/10 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, this was two-tenths of a rating point (or three percent) below the 6.2/10 last week, which translated into 8.46 million viewers and a 1.7 rating/6 share in adults 18-49 (based on the Live + Same Day data). In other words, current viewing levels are enough to keep “American Idol” on the air, but the singing competition pales in comparison to what it once was. As for Harry Connick, Jr. fawning over Kelly Clarkson last night…barf!

On CBS, the second (and final) part of miniseries “The Dovekeepers” took a tumble, dropping by 33 percent in the overnights from one night earlier. “The Dovekeepers” conclusion scored a 3.9/ 6 from 9-11 p.m. On Tuesday, a 5.8/ 9 in the overnights for part one translated into 8.98 million viewers and a 1.0/ 3 among adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data. That said, you can anticipate the demo to look like a 0.7.

Earlier in the evening on the Eye net was reliable “Survivor” at a second-place 5.6/ 9 from 8-9 p.m. To anyone wondering why a 5.6 overnight rating for “Survivor” is labeled as a “winner” and a 6.0 rating for competing “American Idol:” is not, a 5.8 for “Survivor” last week resulted in a 2.3/ 8 in adults 18-49. The 6.2 for “Idol” was only a 1.7/ 6 in the demo.

Tops on ABC (and for the evening) was “Modern Family” with a 6.4/10 in the 9 p.m. half-hour, which was on par from both last week and the year-ago evening. “Modern Family” led into a 4.8/ 8 (#2) for freshman “black-ish” at 9:30 p.m., which is a shoo-in for renewal. But three-year-old drama “Nashville,” as expected, sunk to a last-place 3.6/ 6 at 10 p.m.

Earlier in the evening on ABC were comedies “The Middle” (#3: 5.1/ 9), which is worthy of a seventh season renewal, and “The “Goldbergs” (#3t, 4.4/ 7) at typical overnight levels from 8-9 p.m.

Elsewhere, NBC managed to inch up to third-place in the overnights with its older-skewing drama line-up of “The Mysteries of Laura” (#4: 4.4/ 7), “Law & Order: SVU” (#3: 4.5/ 7) and “Chicago PD” (#1: 4.7/ 8). And it will probably also finish third overall in adults 18-49 because of the older-skew of “The Dovekeepers” on CBS. And The CW was flat from one week earlier care of “Arrow” (#5: 2.0/ 3) and “Supernatural” (#5: 1.2/ 2).

  1. Ugh The Middle. Waiting for it to crack a 2 again but thise HH don't look promising.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I thought nashville would do better tbh with all the promotion and Christina Aguilera arriving

    ReplyDelete
  3. Christina Aguilera isn't a draw.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Its up a tenth from last week but that dont always mean anything like with FOTB yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I can't see Nashville staying in that slot next year

    ReplyDelete
  6. SPN may need to make next year it. Thats the lowest I seen them

    ReplyDelete
  7. MF and blackish both look up. Hope it translates in the demo.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Oh god The Dovekeepers will be rating worse than the Battle Creek, and I thought it was impossible.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Top 25 Numbers will be entered shortly.

Please refresh to see updates as they happen

    ReplyDelete
  10. Loving the consistency of ABC comedies. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  11. FOTB rose yesterday in HH but fell in demo.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Maybe the audience wanted Blake Shelton instead.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Did her guest spot start last night?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Just wow at the The Dovekeepers,CBS wasted money on this.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Farewell Parks and Rec2 April 2015 at 14:34

    Lol The Dovekeepers.

    ReplyDelete
  16. That's your opinion

    ReplyDelete
  17. I dont know what to say, this is horrible,is this the worst rated episode ever on CBS?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Farewell Parks and Rec2 April 2015 at 14:35

Probably the worst rated non-saturday burn-off.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It doesn't seem that the comedies were up.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 4.7/8 HH is great for Chicago PD.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It was helped by The Flopkeepers, but since im a fan of the show,im happy for it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Predictions based on the Top 25 numbers?

    ReplyDelete
  23. What is the top25 number for Arrow? Mine is blank

    ReplyDelete
  24. The Middle 1.9
    The Goldbergs 2.0-2.1
    The Dovekeepers 0.6-0.7
    Survivor 2.2
    TMOL 1.0
    American idol 1.6-1.7

    ReplyDelete
  25. Give me two econds

    ReplyDelete
  26. Last time Nashville had these numbers in HH(3/4/15) it translated to a 1.4 in prelims. Though there was no top 25 that day. Hope it can least achieve that .

    ReplyDelete
  27. Its the only show that hasnt a TOP25.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ah I thought there was a problem with the refreshing thing. Damn, the show I am the most interested in. I hope it is at least steady. Would love if it could inch up.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Or Shakira.
    :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Blackish posted its best top25 numbers in a while: a 2.6

    ReplyDelete
  31. Shakira over Christina ANY day of the week.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Is that better than last week for SPN? Don't remember.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Let me check. I must have missed it or it's not updated yet.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Also Modern Family got a big bump in Top25, lack of Criminal Minds helped them.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's probably mid 3's for Modern Family and mid 2's for blackish.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 1.2hh for Supernatural? That's what you get for that horrible episode last week.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think last week was 1.3

    ReplyDelete
  38. Guesses based exclusively on top25 results:
    - The Middle: 1.9-2.0
    - The Goldbergs: 2.0-2.1
    - Modern Family: 3.1
    - Blackish: 2.3
    - Nashville: 1.1-1.2

    - The Mysteries of Laura: 1.1-1.2
    - Law and Order. SVU: 1.5
    - Chicago PD: 1.7

    - Survivor: 2.3
    - American Idol: 1.7-1.8

    - Supernatural: 0.7-0.8

    ReplyDelete
  39. Should be there. Google docs was taking it's time to update

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think low 2s for Modern Family.

But I think both shows underachieved last week due to the break and didn't capitalize on the absence of Empire, these numbers seem more normal. And I definitely think Blackish is stronger than FOTB now.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My estimates indicate that it tends to retain 84% of its top25 numbers. Could always be way off though and I suspect it will be a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I published mine above now.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I really hope Arrow isn't sub 1.0 again. Urhg. I hate when that happens

    ReplyDelete
  44. They should. 11 years is a good run for any show.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Im still loled about The Dovekeepers 0.5 from 2.1 leadin in Top 25,this even beats TNS at the Worst Retention Show.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The Dovekeepers is a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 0.7, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  48. This will be probably the worst non Saturday episode airing of some series ever on CBS.

    ReplyDelete
  49. The true is Cote, alone, is not abble to give CBS good ratings. She is not a queen after all...

    ReplyDelete
  50. I really hope ABC doesn't change the comedy block. I think the middle helps goldbergs and goldbergs has helped MF stay steady yty

    ReplyDelete
  51. Who is calling her a queen?

    ReplyDelete
  52. addictedtowordsx2 April 2015 at 14:48

No, I think that's next week.

    ReplyDelete
  53. HH for 9 pms on CW sometimes don't make any sense. Yesterday iZ was up (1.4 vs 1.3) in HH, but it was 200K down in viewers. And SPN had 1.2HH last spring few times , nothing shocking here. Probably another 0.7, although its a shame for such a great episode.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It isnt hers fault, no promotion+ people will watch what they DVR instead in that slot+uncompatible leadins+so un CBS show.

    ReplyDelete
  55. well it usually keeps its top 25 demo when fast nationals come for the last episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Dp you watch the show?

    ReplyDelete
  57. No promotion? I thought CBS promoted the heck out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Last night's Supernatural was way better than the past two episodes. Fingers crossed the 0.8 holds.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Dunno,I have heard for the show the day it premiered :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. I hope you're right. But it wouldn't suprise me if some people gave up the show after last weeks sorry excuse for an episode.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Aryam Manzueta2 April 2015 at 14:52

Lmao at The Dovekeepers. I hope Nashville did better.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I watched the first 5 seasons or so.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Supernatural is still doing great job for CW even 11 years after it started.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Nah, not with 0.8 in top 25. SPN usually either keeps I or goes o.1 down. I don't remember going down 0.2.

    ReplyDelete
  65. The person who wrote last night only wrote 2 episodes this season. Why is he not writing more in the bad ones got so many scripts?

    ReplyDelete
  66. I would call that good, not great.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Compared to the rest of the CW though? (Especially with the constant moves).

    ReplyDelete
  68. Its CWs 3rd show, Supernatural is in the 10th season and its very hard to keep audience after all those years

    ReplyDelete
  69. Agree. They have to promote Andrew Dabb and kick the rest out.

    ReplyDelete
  70. The Dovekeepers' ratings are just atrocious.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Well we all have theories on how one of last weeks writers still gets scripts don't we? Haha. Nepotism is a nasty thing sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  72. CBS has been promoting Dovekeeprs in every day part for the past month. This has to be an incredible disappointment. They should've aired it on two Sundays. But they thought NCIS lead-in CDP would resonate.

    ReplyDelete
  73. MF should be back in the 3s!

    ReplyDelete
  74. We didn't get the T25 last week.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Oh I know why on that one. lol I think the crazy thing is that person been writing scripts over 40 years. Like I said before they may work on another show, but they are a mismatch for this show/genre.

    ReplyDelete
  76. It's great that they are consistently good, even after 10 years. While some fans and show execs excuse declining ratings by saying their show is "aging" (tvd......)

    ReplyDelete
  77. Its Tied for 3rd still very good

    ReplyDelete
  78. This comedy block is so consistent it's amazing. The Middle has helped Goldbergs while Goldbergs has helped Modern stay steady and Modern has of course helped Blackish. Nashville is mighty steady this year but it should be moving to Sundays next year.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Agreed on all points

    ReplyDelete
  80. I think SPN should be inking out a little bit more 0.9 for it to be doing great. Right now its hanging in there average since the mid break.

    ReplyDelete
  81. ABC, NBC, CW and FOX did what I expected them to do. CBS had a terrible night from 9-11.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Wow, Blackish looks high...

    ReplyDelete
  83. There are 3-4 other shows doing good too. Flash, Arrow, iZombie and TVD

    ReplyDelete
  84. I agree with everything but Nashville, it should have switched with Revenge(it would be funny if it had returned there)/ premiere a new show there

    ReplyDelete
  85. Plz Arrow plz adjust up! I know the CW is killing you with the "no promoting unless you're already a top show" rule they're adopting lately but plz don't break my heart :(

    ReplyDelete
  86. Blackish is looking more and more like a strong show I think.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Great episode i agree

    ReplyDelete
  88. i m not a viewer but for that name i would tune in.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Devon Maxwell-Pierce2 April 2015 at 15:10

Survivor continues to impress me. I've watched since the beginning and it just keeps consistent.

    ReplyDelete
  90. We'll see next week when it airs out of a Modern Family rerun.

    ReplyDelete
  91. ABC should stick with this comedies on Wed, they only need to change 10 o'clock drama next year. Blackish is doing better this late in the season than I expected.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Next week it will obviously fall but I still think it should be able to perform decently. The show impressed me with its late deliveries against Empire. We shall see.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Survivor is a monster pulling those numbers at 8pm after all these years. In a non Big Bang Theory world it would probably be CBS number 1 show.

    ReplyDelete
  94. What's interesting to see is how much it falls.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Let's see how it does today. If it does 2.3 or so I can see it falling 0.5 or so next week and doing high 1s which would be a great result.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Arrow is a top CW show. If Arrow isn't, then only The Flash is and obviously networks have more than one top show.

My only wish is that it doesn't go below 1.0. I really hate when that happens.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Like who even cares, lol

    ReplyDelete
  98. The Middle 1.9-2.0
    The Goldbergs 2.0-2.1
    Survivor 2.2-2.3
    TMOL 1.0-1.2
    American idol 1.6-1.8

sry for the huge range lol

    ReplyDelete
  99. So the highly hyped appearance of Christina Aguillera couldn't even help Nashville increase.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I know it's a top show I meant that the Flash is killing it with the ratings and they can't stop promoting it and they are ignoring Arrow completely.

    ReplyDelete
  101. down from last week I believe, likely down in viewers from the 1.7 odd million viewers and probably a 0.6/0.7.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Is Flash doing that much better?

    ReplyDelete
  103. The whole season has been aweful, you cant expect people just to tune in again suddenly just because an episode might turn out to be good. Its a real shame JC has decided to carry on the current storylines into season 11 when they're clearly already struggling.

    ReplyDelete
  104. With the atrocious ratings for Dovekeepers, CBS should definitely be discouraged for doing a miniseries like this for next season. Repeats of Criminal Minds would have performed stronger.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Christina Aguilera wasn't in this episode, I hear.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Thats right I just remembered, I thought I read 1.3 on another site though

    ReplyDelete
  107. I think The Flash is the biggest reason as to why Arrow is up so much this year (it's the drama that is up the most year to year so far, it is damn impressive). When they promote The Flash, Arrow gains as well, so it is good with me. Besides, I really think you are exaggerating, The CW promotes Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Around 25 to 30 percent better than Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  109. 0.7 prelim more likely

    ReplyDelete
  110. Isn't it the highest rated CW show now?

    ReplyDelete
  111. ABC kept promoting Nashville like she was guest starring on this week's episode.

    ReplyDelete
  112. While last night's episode was great, Dabb also wrote some not so good episodes. Like the IMO incredibly boring mid-season finale with Claire Novak and the spinoff pilot last year.

I think the show desperately needs some new blood that will bring in new fresh ideas (and who has to watch all past seasons so that we don't get more lol!canon). And the writers should stop interacting with fandom so much - then they might start focusing more on writing interesting, logical and non-repetitive storylines instead of thinking up ideas how to please the different fractions of fans and insert fan service moments to get new followers on twitter.

    ReplyDelete
  113. It is but compare it where it started, which was huge for the CW with a 1.9. And it is now in the 1.2-1.3 range. Arrow started with a 0.9 and is still in the 0.9-1.0 range.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I think Arrow started at 1.3

    ReplyDelete
  115. i mean this season it started with a 0.9

    ReplyDelete
  116. If we see Nashville with a 1.1 or 1.2 demo, in my opinion, that would be an even worse performance than Revenge on Sunday against The Walking Dead season finale.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Farewell Parks and Rec2 April 2015 at 15:36

CBS hasn't repeated Criminal Minds all season, have they?

    Unless we're counting saturdays.

    ReplyDelete
  118. He said we are getting these storylines in season 11?! What?! You know what storyline would have been good? That Cain genocide storyline we had for one episode. Or the veil storyline the show completely forgot about and never mentioned again.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I don't think the Flash's promotions affect Arrow that much. Arrow fans can watch the Flash but the Flash fans who prefer a lighter tone don't necessarily watch Arrow.
I wish I am. The flash gets a new artwork every month and lots of promos while Arrow didn't get a photoshoot this year and not even an extended promo last night. Not to mention that they reused old photos for the poster.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Nope that was the rating for the crossover episode

    ReplyDelete
  121. Just want to see what people think: should ABC keep Wednesday comedy lineup intact next season? I want them to but don't think they will.

    ReplyDelete
  122. The Flash is also a freshman so it is normal that gets more promotion and stuff like what you are saying, that is what networks are supposed to do actually. Because the potential for a freshman to attract new viewers is substantially higher than that of a veteran show. I think for a third year show Arrow is fairly well promoted.

    ReplyDelete
  123. He was talking about the series premiere.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I agree with that. But Nashville has been stable this year so maybe this number is exaggerated somehow and it scores a more reasonable 1.3

    ReplyDelete
  125. This is starting me to wonder if audiences are tired of watching these biblical theme dramas. ABC should keep a close eye on the performance of A.D. this Sunday. Because if ratings disappoint, they shouldn't even think about picking up Of Kings and Prophets.

    ReplyDelete
  126. They promoted her, not the show all the time. It did not work. It was 5th yesterday and last one today in ratings. Failed

    ReplyDelete
  127. Assuming they have a good FAMILY (key word!) comedy to launch, I think they should use Blackish to lead off Tuesday into Fresh Off the Boat and launch a new comedy after Modern Family while keeping the remaining comedies in place.

In terms of what I think will happen, I think they might move The Middle instead and use The Goldbergs to launch a new comedy at 8h30.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Even if it's in the 1.2-1.3 range it's still doing pretty good for a CW show and they are trying to get back to those high numbers, that's why they're doing all those promotions. Arrow hasn't dropped this season because it's already on it's third season and has established a loyal fanbase. All the undecided viewers who watch just to see what this show is about already left at season one and midway through season 2. Only the loyal fans remain and they are the ones who keep coming back every week.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Oh yeah the number for the ratings on my source was reversed. The one I was looking at was the series finale sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I am wondering if the even harder push in the past few weeks for Flash has something to do with the worry for their budget.

    ReplyDelete
  131. For the most part they've had good reasons to preempt it though. The Survivor double ups, The Survivor/ Big Brother combo, the Surivor/ Amazing Race combo, The Mentalist series finale and The People Choice Awards all have performed better than repeats of Criminal Minds would have. This is the only one that is not working, really.

But they can probably double up on repeats of Minds in the summer this way and they will probably need them for sundays since it is all empty after Big Brother and I doubt they want to repeat madam secretary and the good wife.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I still think they need to do more for Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  133. If they do, I would be really concerned about the future of Fresh Off The Boat.

    ReplyDelete
  134. You can say that for practically every show on every network though. Other than say, The Flash for CW, Empire for FOX, Scandal for ABC, probably everyone can continue to claim their shows are under promoted and could be done more for. But networks have limited resources. I think it is fine.

    ReplyDelete
  135. It could be. The visual effects cost A LOT so of course they need to gain more viewers and more commercials.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I'm a fan of the Flash too and I'm happy for the attention it's getting but I just wish they could do the same for Arrow. Like they gave the Flash two one minute promos after the last episode and Arrow gets a 20 seconds one! Not even an extended 30 seconds promo?

    ReplyDelete
  137. Uncle Buck most likely.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Patrick Ausgewahlt2 April 2015 at 15:53

The Dovekeepers is in no way Biblical themed. Based on a historical event only important to some Jews/

    ReplyDelete
  139. Because of the cast, Uncle Buck has potential. I love Nia Long. I'm not sure if it will be a single cam though.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I am pretty sure one is coming next week since there is no new episode next week. I understand where you are coming from and I think it is normal to always want networks to do more for our shows (and it is always possible to do more, even a Flash fan can claim that). But I think Arrow has never been mistreated by the CW. It received A LOT more attention than shows like The Originals, Supernatural, The 100, Reign or Hart of Dixie. I think The Flash, Arrow, The Vampire Diaries and Jane the Virgin are the shows that receive the most attention from the CW. If anyone should complain a bit I think should be the sophmore shows.

  141. Well they can start killing some of the main cast if budget is a problem. I know some people likes Joe but we know he's going die someday.

    ReplyDelete
  142. That is a multi cam. I strongly dislike the idea of putting a multi cam mixed up with single cams.

    ReplyDelete
  143. It is a multi cam. Maybe they air that on Fridays at 8h30.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Chevy is a family comedy that will focus on Grandparents having to take care of their Grandchildren.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Fair enough, but I think it will skew old like hell and not be a good fit at all with the Wednesday comedies. I think the thing will be picked up but I think it won't work, though it will have tones of old viewers. I severely dislike Chevy Chase though and won't watch anything with him so I might be too biased here to be objective though, I recognize that.

  146. I keep thinking this may be the perfect time for ABC to re-launch TGIF before Last Man Standing ends. They have so many great sounding multi cam comedies. I wouldn't mind this lineup
    8pm Uncle Buck
    8:30pm Last Man Standing
    9pm Dr. Ken
    9:30pm Delores & Jermaine
They could also have Beyond the Tank ready if 2 of the shows flop really bad. Also Cristela could be retooled and available to replace a failing show.

  147. SPN 0.6 Ouch.

    ReplyDelete
  148. No Arrow!! Why do you do this to me? Damn!!!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Arrow 0.8 SPN 0.6 :(

    ReplyDelete
  150. TM: 1.7
    TG: 1.9
    MF: 2.6
    B-ish 2.4

    ReplyDelete
  151. Blackish only lost 0.5 from Modern Family. It is the biggest winner of the night, in my opinion.

    Winners: Modern Family, Blackish, Survivor

Honorable Mention: The Goldbergs, Chicago PD, Arrow

Losers: The Dovekeepers, The Mysteries of Laura

  152. I understand where you are coming from though. Do you feel if Chevy was a more supporting actor like Ed O'Neil on Modern Family, that the show would have more potential?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Probably, yes. But they are even giving the show his freaking name so in this case it looks like he is front and center!

    ReplyDelete
  154. Damn Arrow, I command you to adjust up.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Ugh, CW. Hoping for 0.9/0.8 and 0.7/0.6 half-hours, at least.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Uh, how is Arrow an HM when it tied its season low?

    ReplyDelete
  157. And that may pose a problem. I can definitely see a show such as The Real O'Neils with Martha Plimpton being more appealing and compatible with the current lineup.

    ReplyDelete
  158. 0.8/0.8; 0.6/0/6

    ReplyDelete
  159. Arrow will likely adjust up Then that would be great

    ReplyDelete
  160. Roma Downey and her fans.

    ReplyDelete
  161. That would still come short of Shark Tank though, and that is the problem. You probably assume Shark Tank is replacing the Tuesday comedy hour (hence cancelling FOTB), which is an option but in that case, since Shark Tank does the same on Friday and Tuesday, the Friday comedy hour at 9 would have to outdo what a potential comedy hour on Tuesday would do. It is not impossible for that to happen but those multicams would have to be veryyy successful so I think it is unlikely and that ABC would be worse off. There is also the issue that if they do that they cannot launch any new single cams because all 4 Wednesday comedies will be renewed and if the Tuesday comedy hour doesn't exist anymore, than there is no place for the to move for.

[Moving Shark Tank to Tuesday and keeping the Tuesday comedy hour is not an option since it would be cutting down a drama hour and ABC needs new drama blood so they won't/ should not do that]

  162. CW Half hours: 0.8/0.8; 0.6/0/6

    ReplyDelete
  163. Damn, sad for Supernatural

    ReplyDelete
  164. Thanks. Could be worse, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Yes I prefer that show too. The Judah Miller thing might also not be bad (though it is not ABC produced)

    ReplyDelete
  166. Still think its possible for Arrow to adjust up

    ReplyDelete
  167. Are you really Russian?

    ReplyDelete
  168. I find Chevy Chase annoying, too./

    ReplyDelete
  169. Because it is still CW's #2 show. I do this both considering relative performance to the shows themselves (which is why Arrow and Goldbergs are only HM) and relative to the networks as a whole (which is why they are still good for HM).

    ReplyDelete
  170. The Flash adjusted up yesterday with stable half hours. Fingers crossed. Even if I also hate a 0.9, but a 0.8 is just too bad.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I hate what he did in Community.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I read all that, but I generally just find him annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I understand. I think what is throwing things off right now is the not knowing if Castle will return. And what about the contract negotiations for The Middle? Could you see a circumstance where that show doesn't return and then Fresh Off The Boat simply moves to Wednesday?

    ReplyDelete
  174. Ouch Middle, Goldbergs, Supernarural

    ReplyDelete
  175. I wonder what happen to the Adults 18-34, 18-49 last night. Cause Arrow and SPN dropped like a rock. Arrow was borderline a 1.1 last week. Actually all the nets was feeling it. The usage had to be down alot.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Yes, please! ...though not if it takes a tenth from SPN. But I'd live with 0.9 and 0.6.

    ReplyDelete
  177. And it has been decades since the National Lampoon movies have been relevant. The young audiences may not even be aware of them. If Chevy personality turns off people and he doesn't make for an appealing lead, then it would be best to go with the other single cams.

    ReplyDelete
  178. ABC had a good night except for Nashville. It really dropped from the comedies. Idol's are definitely not great but good enough for FOX. The Dovekeepers is a disaster for CBS, terrible numbers. NBC did not have a good night either

    ReplyDelete
  179. I cannot imagine the middle not returning honestly. The show was never a big hit so there is no reason to expect costs to have escalated before. I think it is only a matter of sitting down and working it out. I don't recall a surprise contract negotiation gone wrong in any network in recent years. To me, the show is a certain renewal.

Castle I admit there is some likelihood due to the softening of its ratings and the fact that the stars seem somehow open to end the show but I still think a renegotiation for a final season gets done and I am not ready to consider the show a bubble show, I still think it is a likely renewal.

I think Fresh Off the Boat being cancelled is a more likely outcome than of those shows being cancelled, and I happen to think Fresh Off the Boat is more likely to be renewed than cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  180. I hope ABC sees that and doesn't pick it up. I dread watching the screener for that if it is picked up.

    ReplyDelete
  181. I don't think the 8pm comedies had a good night, especially The Middle.
