None they shouldn't have killed Derek off and it sucked how much of a non event was made of his death.

ReplyDeleteThis is a clear case of an arrogant author not knowing when to stop. If there is no Derek there is no Grey. The only way for Derek to leave would be with Meredith leaving with him in a happy ending. Shonda totally jumped the shark.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Shonda Rhimes is not as a smart writer as neither Vince Gilligan nor Joss Whedon. At least, Breaking Bad had a satisfying finale and Buffy the Vampire Slayer had a fantastic finale. If ABC doesn't announce Grey's Anatomy as the final season for season 12, I'm starting a petition to get rid of it in S12.
ReplyDelete200% agree. The first half was excellent until he got into a car accident. That was when the second half ruined things. I'm boycotting every Shonda Rhimes show but I will still watch HTGAWM. I've been done with Scandal since the kidnapping plot.
ReplyDeleteI think Shonda Rhimes and Carter Bays can room together since the way they killed off characters was a boldheaded move.

ReplyDeleteFrankly, my favorite scene was toward the beginning where Derek is stuck in traffic and he's calling in and talking to Amelia, Bailey, and April while they're all in the OR.
ReplyDeleteI liked Scandal until this season. That kidnapping story line was just too far for me. And this insatiable appetite to literally butcher people is really off putting for a 9 pm show. I get it B613 is what they are but enough and I don't consider myself a prood. I genuinely liked Derek and Merediths relationship - RIP McDreamy!!
ReplyDeleteI disagree....I was thinking a few episodes back when Derek was absent from the show that it was actually a better show without him. Now they can refocus on Meredith and give her something new (grief, single motherhood) to deal with.

ReplyDeleteThe Wire probably my favorite TV show. ER great medical drama. Two that stick out for me. I feel like I'm going to get schooled on nun TV shows???
ReplyDeleteLOL, The Wire was FANTASTIC!! The finale was so excellent as well. I was lucky my roommate in college and I re-watched that show again. Also, ER was fantastic and even without Noah Wyle and George Clooney, the writers had a way to keep the show strong. I'm glad my parents let me watch the show when I was little.

ReplyDeleteBut that is the point. Why bring him back when they could just leave him on DC for the year? And especially why kill him in that way. Also now we know Meredith won't have a happy ending, after all she suffered, she lost her mother, her father, her sister and now even her husband. That got ridiculous. Derek was a protagonist as much as Meredith. They were the solid foundation that grounded fans through all tragedies. Meredith had already achieved everything. Success in personal and professional life. It would be better if she departed with Derek to somewhere and they focused on someone else like Grey sister. But Shonda just didn't have the skill to start over with someone else without the charm of both Patrick and Pompeo.
ReplyDeleteNone of them. Derek dying ruined the entire episode. I think I'm more shocked today than i was last night. I cannot believe they actually killed him off. I dont think i will ever get this invested in a show again. Too emotions over people that aren't real lol
ReplyDeleteAgreed. the GA storylines were so much better this season compared to last season and this just ruined the entire season for me. Scandal has definitely lost it's momentum. That kidnapping storyline was just far fetched and drawn out. and enough is enough with B6-13. I really don't see them going on for too much longer either. Last night's episode almost made me throw up when they showed those 2 kids with bullet holes in their heads. It's like they focus more on being shocking than actually having a good storyline
ReplyDeleteNo you haven't missed a damn thing on Scandal. It's the same old recycled plots. I think that GA episode was just careless writing and derek's death scene was crap. He's smart enough to be a surgeon but you want us to believe he's dumb enough to pull out into the road then stop to look for his phone especially after just witnessing a near fatal accident. It's just stupid.

ReplyDeleteGrey's, Scandal, and HTGAWM are the only dramatic shows I watch. I used to watch Criminal Minds but now that I live alone I can't watch a lot of murder mystery shows. I thought private practice was a really good show but Grey's Anatomy has always been my favorite drama. Other than that I watch comedies and reality tv.
ReplyDeleteWow, Derek is gone. Shonda kept that quiet, fans would of been in an uproar over Derek's death. But apart from his death I'm glad Derek died a hero, he saved lives. I hope the character of Winnie grows up to become a doctor to honour Derek. Is there any news of Season 12 and will Meredith be dark and twisty again without Derek in her life.
