  1. oooh. A Jack the Ripper riff? And apparently Nick and Hank got to the trailer before it was a complete loss

  2. Yay, they still have some diaries to go through!

  3. I have a hard time believing that anything on paper from that trailer was salvageable.

  4. Maybe Wu took some to his house before the fire or something

  5. well, i'm happy that not everything was destroyed. I hope some of the weapons survive.

  6. That could be the case or maybe it was burned in an unrelated event

I know Adalind has a lot of detractors but I find this funny. "You'd better hold me down."

  8. I'm kind of excited to see what they do with Jack the Ripper.

After the sneak peeks, I'm thinking it may be Renard who is the Ripper because of his blackouts

  9. I liked both of those Adalind scenes and I applaud her commitment to the cause but I can't be the only one who has a problem with a pregnant woman drinking some bizarre, untested, distilled corpse cocktail?

  10. Hey it's organic at the least.

  11. Wow, we got a triple and I love it, especially the way Nick worries about Adalind after taking the potion!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Is it just me or is it getting weird that Nick is worrying about Adalind.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Okay, if this storyline turns out to be Adalind becoming human and having Nick's (and her) baby while Juliette remains cursed as a Hexenbeist ... then I will be a very unhappy camper.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It's like some alternative reality where Adalind is Juliette and Juliette is Adalind. It's really weird and I feel really sorry about Juliette.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think Rosalee seemed at least a bit concerned, as did Nick, but still that can't be good for the baby. Now only to figure out how to get Juliette to take the potion.

  16. Juliette being "irredeemable is bs people said the exact same thing about Adalind in season 3 final and now she's redeemable

    ReplyDelete
  17. No one's claiming Adalind is redeemable. She's not even trying to redeem herself. She's trying to survive. The fact that she's not actively plotting against anyone at the moment doesn't mean she's suddenly a saint.

  18. Sure but you would be suprised of the comments you see else where there are people who actually want nick and Adalind to be a couple now that is disturbing

    ReplyDelete
  19. So what if they do? People are way too judgmental about the characters on this show. Nick kills people and conspired to steal a baby. Renard put a hit out on Nick's aunt. Nick's mom murdered Adalind's mom. Rosalee has, on multiple occasions, formulated concoctions that fundamentally suppressed or irrevocably altered people physically without their permission.

No one's hands are clean on this show... except maybe Wu. At this point there's no point in claiming one character is so much better than another when almost everyone has done things that range from morally questionable to morally reprehensible.

  20. Yes you maybe right even the buring of the trailer is ambiguous since the history it held was about wesen and how they were killed and/or tortured by grimms inocent and guilty

    ReplyDelete
  21. Property damage is way down on the list of objectionable behavior displayed by characters on this show. People get up in arms about the trailer in particular because of a sentimental attachment to it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Whether or not you think Adalind is redeemable (I lean toward no, personally, but everyone has their own opinion), it's still a little disturbing that so many fans want to see a rapist become romantically involved with her victim.

  23. For whatever reason, after I read your post I got curious and read the laws relating to sex crimes in Oregon. Surprisingly, it's not rape. Upon reading the legal language, it doesn't qualify in any degree (1st, 2nd, or 3rd.) It's morally reprehensible but not a criminal act.

One adult getting another sober, mentally competent adult into bed under false pretenses isn't a crime. People of both sexes go out to clubs and bars and lie about themselves to get laid all the time. They just don't use magic to do it. They'll say they're single when they're married, they'll say they're a doctor when they're a medical assistant, they'll say they're a republican when they're in the green party, and Adalind pretended to be Juliette. Horrible yes, criminal no.

I'm not defending Adalind and I'm not saying that Nick/Adalind 'shippers aren't a little nutty. I'm just offering a different perspective.

  24. I note that you said "surprisingly".

There are quite a few jurisdictions that recognize rape-by-deception. Others that don't. (Oregon appears to be the latter, but I haven't looked specifically for case law.)

However, there's a difference between moral and legal standards sometimes. Some jurisdictions still only recognize rape as penetrative sex. It took a long time for many jurisdictions to recognize marital rape. But I think that most decent people can understand that sex without consent is sex without consent.

"False pretenses" kind of trivializes what happened here. This isn't a case where a man had sex with a woman thinking she was Linda from accounting, when she's really Mary down the street. This is specifically a man being tricked into sex with a woman that he explicitly dislikes while believing that she was the woman he loved. The best real world comparison would be something like: there are twin brothers. One is married. The wife and other brother seriously dislike one another. However, one day, the brother pretends to be the husband, and then has sex with the wife. I think most decent people would agree that this hypothetical woman did not consent to having sex with the brother. Sex without consent is rape, even if the law doesn't always recognize it as such.

Wow. This is a fantasy show people!. Just enjoy. You either like the storyline or you dont whatever. If Adalind and Nick get together then whatever. If Juliette and Nick get back together then whatever. Jeez. Just watch the damn show or not.

  26. Are we not allowed to discuss fantasy shows?

Discuss the show?? ABSOLUTELY!! tell me what you liked about it and what you didn't. But I don't go on here to know what the law is for rape in the state of Oregon. I'll go to another website for that information. But to each his own I guess Enjoy the discussion!

  28. You make some interesting points about how most of the characters have made objectionable decisions. However, given the circumstances in which those actions transpired, not a of their choices were completely objectionable. For instance, when Nick kills people (mostly wesen) the individuals were behaving in ways where they needed to be stopped by some means. Is it really reasonable to expect Nick to arrest every wesen criminal when he can't rationally prove they were responsible. Not to say that his actions haven't been questionable at times, but it really bothers me when people use that slippery slope argument regarding the behavior of characters. The same could easily be said about Rosalee & most of the other characters. Yes, there have been times when the decision they made was truly questionable & cruel but most of the time their actions, however questionable by real world ethics, are justified by the situation.

  29. Well Adalind is carrying his child... it seems pretty understandable if he cares about her health.
