  1. it was stolen from them though

  2. It was stolen from Zoe. It was her proposal. She set it up. If she's not upset then Wade needs to cool it.

  3. I think Wade has the right to be upset. It's not that Lavon stole their proposal as much as it is Zoe not wanting to get engaged now since LL are. They are finally on the same page and now they have to wait because Lavon is too much of a chicken to be honest with the woman he loves and is about to marry.
Lavon will come clean though. He has to, otherwise he starting a marriage on a lie - even if he was planning to propose eventually.

  4. and even if it's to Lemon

  5. I'm sorry but I don't agree. This is a very minor issue. Wade should be happy for his friend and happy that Zoe has changed her position on marriage instead of getting snippy about a spur of the moment proposal that he didn't even plan. If they're truly on the same page in their relationship then this shouldn't be an issue at all.

  7. So he isn't allowed to be frustrated that ZW's engagement has to be a secret? (they want to marry each other so they are in fact engaged just with no ring or proposal) Something he doesn't like - not during the FWB phase and not in 404. Before she didn't want to get married and then she plans a grand gesture that is ruined and now it's back to not getting married because she doesn't want to upset Lemon - even I would be frustrated over the chain of events.

Happy for his friend? Lavon is just selfish and doesn't care about Wade/Zoe their supposed friends or that his life with Lemon begins with a big lie.
Wade has all the rights to be mad.

  12. Oh yeah. That Lavon Hayes is a real jerk. How dare he get engaged to the woman he loves even if by sheer coincidence.

  13. Frustrated? Sure. But if his priorities are straight he shouldn't be nearly as upset as he is.

  16. I certainly wouldn't call it an OOC reaction for him though. I kinda fits with his insecurities...

  17. Unless he's insecure about Zoe changing her mind again before their engagement then I don't know what's to get all in a huff about.

  18. There's that for sure... there's also an inherit insecurity that he never gets what he wants or what he deserves and other people swoop in and steal it from him... so I get him wanting his moment back.

  19. There's a lot of truth to that and that gives him a reason to be frustrated. The thing is though, Wade's hang-ups shouldn't be taken out on Lavon. He innocently stumbled into an engagement.

  20. Well since Lavon did indeed to the swooping this time, even if it was unintentional, I get Wade being a bit snippy and pissed with him, for coasting on something that was meant for HIM.

And I also I think Lavon should be just a wee bit more apologetic here... and just man up and tell Lemon. It would solve a lot of problems.

  21. I guess that's where we hit a difference of opinion. I think Wade is creating problems with his petulance about this. If there were ever a time to see Wade finish his growth process, the finale would be it. Just recognize how silly this is, let it go, and be happy for your friend.

  22. I think if Zoe wasn't being so "we can't steal their thunder" about it, he may have not minded. But that's the thing I guess... it's not only that Lavon commandeered their engagement, it has not put a pause in Zoe's willingness to go through with it.

As I said it totally plays into the "I never get what is coming to me" that Wade does seem to have suffered through his whole life.
And Yes I agree it would have been a nice character growth moment him "letting it go" but I think I'm on him side here...
And I'll never say Lavon is selfish or not a good friend, but I think he should at least see how handling of the situation might be coming off to Wade.

  23. I think a simple earnest apology is the extent of what Lavon owes Wade here. Almost all of what you're laying out is about how Wade feels and his insecurities as opposed to the actual offense in question which, in and of itself, is very minor especially since this is something Zoe planned. Not Wade.

While it's true that, from what I'm seeing in the video, Lavon could be more sensitive to Wade's feelings he shouldn't be held responsible for them either.

  24. I'm not saying this is not a Wade issue. It 100% is.

I just absolutely get where he's coming from, even if he might be objectively overreacting.

Of course! And he shouldn't be responsable because he lies to the woman he is supposed to love, right? What a beautiful way to start a marriage!!

Yes, be happy for your friend who is mocking the woman he "loves", be happy for your friend who doesn't care about how their "best friends" feel.

Innocently? Yes, until Zoe tells him it was her proposal and he chose to ignore it.

  28. Sorry, I have to agree with most of the other posters on here, Wade has a right to be upset and annoyed with Lavon and I totally understand why he's upset with him. It really bothered him that Zoe was so against the idea of getting married some day. She changes her mind but now won't get engaged because it would be sealing Lemon's thunder. I totally understand why Wade would be frustrated by this situation. It's taken them a long time and a lot of work on both Zoe and Wade's parts to get to where they are in their relationship now and just when they are on the same page with making this commitment, there's another road block. And let's not forget, the last episode ended with Lavon promising Zoe (who remember was upset with him at the time for stealing her proposal) he would tell Lemon the truth which he clearly hasn't done yet. Lavon knows better than anyone all the ups and downs, twists and turns that have gone on with Zoe and Wade's relationship from the time she came to town and now he of all people is causing another issue. These are supposed to be his 2 best friends, they're getting ready to have a baby, and he told Lemon there was no rush, that they had all the time in the world. He already knew it upset Zoe that he stole the proposal, now he knows Wade is upset too, probably more so. That should be the last straw to him admitting what is going on to Lemon. Do I think Lavon is a jerk, no, but in this situation I don't think he's being a very good friend or a good boyfriend/fiance to Lemon for that matter. Lavon is the one in the wrong here, not Wade. I do think he comes clean to Lemon eventually though.

    ReplyDelete
  29. That's fair enough.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think you're making even more of this than Wade is. The idea that Lavon should derail his own engagement because of a mix-up is petty and small. There's nothing stopping Wade and Zoe from going to the court house, putting down their $40, and saying "I do." They can always have a ceremony and celebration later.
