  1. I voted for Abbie kicking the Colonel's ass - that was perfection! Close second, Ichabod trying to figure out how to access Abbie's phone. I still chuckle thinking about him sliding the phone across the table...was nice to still have an Ichabod vs. technology scene even though most of the episode took place in 1781

  2. Mine is Crane swiping the phone.

  3. The excitement that I felt about Sleepy Hollow after the season 1 finale equals the disappointment I feel now. I'm not sure I liked anything enough in this episode to vote for it although Evil Katrina was pretty intense and Franklin was a breath of fresh air.

  4. I did laugh when Ichabod slides the phone across the table. That made sense for his time period and reminded me of better days in season 1.

  5. I loved when Katrina got Abbie's blood then killed the colonel! "It's simple really, I'm a witch!" BOOM! Loved it.

  6. That was a great quote. Probably my favorite of the night.

  7. Agreed!

I hope they get another season tho!

Maybe the next season should explore a bit more of Abbie's lineage...perhaps they can bring a few of her ancestors back.....

  8. The writers have ruined both Abbie and Ichabod for me this season so I'm done whether it is canceled or not.

  9. Yikes!

I don't feel that way about the show. I am still into it....not obsessed as I was the first season. I think the whole 18 episodes kinda screwed them up a bit....they focused on things that had nothing to do with the actual story. Like what ever happened to the hottie angel....its like they start a storyline and then they immediately dismiss it. I feel like bringing Henry back from the dead was also a faux pas....he was dead and gone....why make another season about catching Henry....its weird for sure. Yes there where a lot of storylines that really needed either further elaboration and/or more fulfillment for viewers. I think that the writers definitely took viewers for granted this season....but in my mind it had more to do with the fact that they lacked direction. There were a number of cop outs in plot....the characters in season two lacked authenticity.....IMO....I am sure lots of folks will disagree....

Overall....it is not the worst show on television...there is room for improvement....and for me I would definitely give them another season, so that they get back on track.

  10. I agree that the writers had no plan for this season and as such everything was a muddled mess, including the characters. For me I believe the problem actually came from season 1 being so good. It feels like the writers took a look at how much plot they burned through in one season, how awesome that rapid pacing was, and realized they had no where to go this season. It feels like they used all their ideas in season 1 and promptly ran into a wall and therefore started just throwing things out hoping that something would stick. There was no cohesive story this year and it bit them hard, making the whole season a confusing jumble of empty air they tried desperately to undo in the finale. I have zero faith in the Sleepy Hollow writers' ability to tell a bedtime story to toddlers much less write an actual season of engaging, logical, fluid TV at this point.

  11. I understand your upset over the season. The writers in fact are quite big names in the tv writing game. So not sooo sure if I personally would feel comfortable in discrediting them out of hand.

I will say that the main overarching story lacked clarity. I don't necessarily feel that the witnesses actually progressed or moved their storyline forward, other then to kill off a number of characters for effect. The larger story in my mind is kind of a clean slate right now, except for the fact that the viewer knows that the main characters are still witnesses.

The sub stories in my mind were the main issue. The writers got sucked into them, so much so that they failed to pay attention to the main overarching story, and only came back to said story in a few of the episodes. The sub stories in no way progressed the plot...which they should have. They were almost a waste of time for viewers to invest in. The new characters that they brought into the viewers realm only stalled the main overarching story. As they distracted and in no way progressed the plot of the whole show. For instance the library and holographic president.....that was there and then it was quickly over....when in fact, that could have been a major plot point for the characters....

All this to say, is that the writers got really distracted from the main plot which created a horrible experience IMO for the viewer.

  12. My two favorite scenes, are the top two. Hahahaha

Ichabod tries to work the phone, that was so priceless, I loved it. Watching that video in his time was great. It showed how far along he'd come since digging himself out the grave. And just showed the strong bond between him and Abbie. I really did enjoy his past self, seeing his future self, two completely different people, though the same. It was a great moment for Ichabod.

Second favorite. Ichabod kills his wife, with her own knife. If that's not classic idk what is. He saved himself, Abbie, the world, (hopefully this show), there was no bad there. But I do feel bad for him. But he had to kill her, he knew that,(Although he didn't want to) and he did.

  13. I loved this episode pretty much from top to bottom, so it was hard to pick a favorite scene. I finally decided on the carriage ride, because it was the one that most strongly called back to the show's amazing pilot for me complete with one of our duo messing with the window. Also, there was an intensity to it as both actors finally got to play off each other again in a meaty way and show off the chemistry that drew so many to this show in the first place.

Like most it seems, I was very frustrated with this season. It lacked direction and cohesive writing. It also lacked the humor, fun, and just bat crap crazy that the show used to have. Most importantly, the powers that be lost sight of the show's best asset, their two leading stars and the lightning in a bottle chemistry between them. Shifting so much focus away from them and even away from the Apocalypse premise of the show and driving most of their plots through a weak secondary character was a huge misstep and pretty much sank this season. (I actually would argue that this mistake really occurred halfway through the first season with the introduction of the idea of a child and all the dumb family drama that sprang from it, my interest level dropped around Sanctuary). I just cannot fathom what was going through their heads to dump the original two awesome witnesses fighting evil horsemen trying to bring about the apocalypse premise to the point that they killed off Moloch less than 25 episodes into the show's run and replace it with a warlock's daddy issues and his parents' marital woes. What the heck?

In my opinion, Jeremy should have never been introduced. Katrina should have been revealed as evil when she emerged from purgatory in the season one finale. It would have explained why she was so unhelpful and her general shadiness. Then, she could have been the big bad during season 2 together with Moloch, instead of being mind numbingly dull and a constant damsel. Plus, Katia Winter is a limited actress, but seemed to do better at evil than not (well, at least she stopped whispering kinda) and half the time she looked shady even when she wasn't supposed to be, so Katrina would have been much more tolerable.

Sadly, that didn't happen and the writers failed miserably at making Katrina into a good character despite trying to push her to the forefront all season. Her sudden turn and demise was a mess, but I'll happily take it because it was the only way to deal with such a problematic character in time to hopefully influence Fox into renewing the show. The changes also allowed the finale to regain some of the magic of the early 1st season episodes. The fun and magic were back for me. It gives me hope for what will come if we are fortunate enough to get a third season.

  14. I also love the scene that Abbie hug Ichabod before he will fight Abraham.

  15. The whole episode was great! I loved all of the scenes with Ichabod and Abbie. The phone scene was the best. Also, to be honest, I am not going to miss Katrina. I don't even care if Ichabod and Abbie end up together, I just was not a fan of Katrina. I'm curious to see what's next though. Surely another horseman will show up.

  16. Other -when headless be heads Benjamin Franklin - wowsers. That or when Abbey hugs Crane before the spell. Such a touching moment!

  17. I agree with much of what you have said. Let's also not forget the fact that they also redeemed the Headless Horseman. Eeek! What crazy!

  18. You can tell the author is mad about the outcome of this episode, hence the "Ichabod believes Katrina is evil for no reason." inserted in the choices. I thought it was a fabulous episode. What a great way to get things back to basics. Fingers crossed for season three!

  19. I agree. In fact, romance between two leads can easily screw things up. As adorable as I think they are together, I think any romance should be down the road. A little flirting and banter should be enough to keep the shippers happy until that happens. I simply do not care about romance on supernatural thriller shows and feel like it detracts from the story.

Katrina ended up growing on me a bit as a hate-watch thing. Funny how that works! I groaned when she came on screen, even in season one. I thought they were setting her up as our big bad after she got out of purgatory, but no; the writers wasted the perfect opportunity to use her properly. In the end, they were left with no choice really but to kill her off.

  20. I must admit to getting a bit teary eyed with the final scene. Abbie and Ichabod's final exchange was heavy with finality, and while it was a perfect scene, I just thought to myself ugh, this is the end. I hope I'm wrong.

  21. This is still one of the best shows on television as far as I'm concerned. Sure, some of the episodes this season were weak, and they definitely screwed things up with the cast, but each episode is still full of little gems. It's unfortunate that we have to go digging to find them, but they're there! With this episode, I think we have the perfect reset to create an amazing season three! I just hope we can retain the people in charge of the pilot and last two episodes this season to work on the next season. Even the first episode this season was pretty good; too bad things got so screwy in between. Maybe too many chefs in the kitchen??

  22. Same!!! I mean they were prepared if this is in fact the last episode of the series, I appreciated that. BUT at the same time I was thinking...it CAN'T end like this, I HOPE the show gets renewed.

  23. I loved first season. Hands down it was amazing. I personally did not enjoy the second season....The show seemed very timid in terms of exploring many issues....let's face there is a race issue in the show, that the show creators at least in some way dealt with in the first season, but failed to do so in the second season. Agreed, that the second season epi's were all over the place and lacked direction. Agreed that they killed off soo many characters that the show essentially has a reset for the third season should they get it. I personally would love the magic of the first season back.
