  1. Damn, Looking. What is going on with this show? Everybody watched SNL? It's really sad. Hope overall numbers are better and will keep this show on the air.

  2. HBO and Showtime did very poorly vs SNL 40.

  3. Whoa is that 0.0 share? Poor Looking.

  4. I did not think i Would ever see a 0.0

  5. Yikes! Never seen a show get 0.0.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yep, it got a 0.04 which rounded down to 0 lol

  7. Wonder what the overall numbers are for HBO's shows like Looking, Togetherness. I know HBO have said they will only issue Live 7 numbers and that is what they care about but does anyone report their Live 7 numbers?

    ReplyDelete
  8. At least it can't get any worse...
I'm glad none of my shows are doing that badly. Well, actually Helix is.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I don't think they report it. Never saw it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. It can get worse - Oscars are next week. Really sad, because it's a great show.

  11. OMG of the past three years I've been looking at TV ratings I've never seen a 0.0! LOL that's terrible.

  12. No idea why HBO thought stacking three niche comedies together would be a bright idea. When it became obvious True Detective wasn't going to return until summer, they should have shuffled another drama to 9:00.

    ReplyDelete
  13. but even with 0.0 they get quite a lot of nominations...

  14. I don't think it's the show (although some will disagree). All three HBO shows the past two weeks have had horrible ratings against big competition. I think it would seem worse for Looking if Girls and Togetherness were bringing in their normal ratings (800k and 400k) and Looking was still in the 100k. Based on the show's ratings when it's not competing with anything major, I think it's safe to say the competition is effecting the ratings.

  15. HBO made such a big deal about Live+7 ratings for their shows an yet no numbers have been released.

    ReplyDelete
  16. They are not typically for public consumption. They are for internal marketing teams that they use.

They probably don't want their competitors to see these numbers.

They get no benefit from releasing these numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't think they are too worried about that. The majority of people who watch shows have no interest or knowledge of the ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I suppose it could drop in viewers, but anymore and it will have literally no viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  19. To be honest, I don't mind them not releasing the numbers. I wish we didn't have those live numbers as well. I understand why it's important for networks, but for cable? Those numbers only create additional pressure.

  20. HBO shows (Game of Thrones, Veep, True Detective). Looking doesn't really get nominated.

    ReplyDelete
  21. No, I also don't think it's the show. I love second season. Agree about other HBO shows - both Girls and Togetherness lost more than half of their viewers in last two weeks. But still, those two shows are already renewed, and Looking is not. I hope not yet.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I guess most people just don't watch it live.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I just think shows like the 100 who are doing better in ratings don't get nominated. You know what I mean haha, even though this show is doing really bad, I wonder why it has been nominated so many times about 16 times. Might have to check it out if it is that good haha

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lucky people. It's torture to be a fan of struggling show. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. We finally get to see a 0.0!
    SNL destroyed everything.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't really watch many comedies, I rarely find one that makes me laugh.

Currently I'm going watching FOTB, TBBT & The Middle.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I wish I didn't know. Question for you: What meaning does a demo have on a cable network like HBO/Showtime where they don't have commercials?

    ReplyDelete
  28. And you think that Helix goes bad? Look at Looking...

    ReplyDelete
  29. yeah the only comedies that I watch are B99, TBBT, Modern Family and New Girl hah

    ReplyDelete
  30. It's very hard to say to be honest. That's why we don't include cable shows in our Cancellation/Renewal prediction tables. They appear to have a lot less of an impact than they do on Broadcast Networks as many low rated shows get renewed. I would guess it's a combination of many factors, inc ratings, critical acclaim, overseas sales and syndication etc

    ReplyDelete
  31. I still can't believe it. I tried it out cause I got really desperate and now I couldn't be happier. Heres what

    I do………...>>> link.iℕ/qnstu

    ReplyDelete
  32. I really don't care about ratings. I don't care if show I love is watched by ten or ten millions. But I am really invested into Looking, so can't help it and worry about renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It also helps that cable networks get an additional source of revenue that broadcasters don't.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm the same. I don't care about ratings for any of the other shows I watch except Looking. I check them weekly even though I tell myself "Don't Look". I'm hoping the other factors like buzz and critic reviews will work in Looking's favor in terms of a renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It may in fact have to do with the cost of premium cable channels, Direct is taking a big jump and calling it improved packaging.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Same story. I hope show will be renewed. But I genuinely wonder what happened, because it seems like second season was accepted better, and more people know about the show (me including, I didn't watch first season live), and I see much more buzz about it than about, for example, Togetherness. But ratings are still so bad.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've never seen something hit 0.0 before!

    ReplyDelete
  38. First time seeing a 0.0, I wonder if I'll ever see it again!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can't even. 0.0 really?
Meh for The Walking Dead. I mean it did good but I'd hoped better than that!

    ReplyDelete
  40. HBO haven't got enough dramas to start one in Jan, GOT is probably still in post-production, not sure Leftovers has started filming yet and their new dramas as still being produced as well. They definitely need to get more dramas on the schedule though as they tend to do better than their indie comedies.
