    Ask for promo photos on Twitter and they suddenly appear. It looks like Jo will try to merge with Kai, but I distinctly remember a promo shot of Kai doing something heavily magical with Luke. Maybe Kai will catch wind of some kind of trap and change his plan? Jo is too weak to make him the leader of his coven anyway. The leader is supposed to be the most powerful witch.

    I'm interested to see the baby vamp that Caroline made. Maybe he'll stick around since one of the twins is supposed to get killed off, and there's no mention of either Luke or Liv for the rest of the arc.

    Well this is their shared story line. Stefan has nothing else going on but Enzo, and seriously who gives a crap about that guy, and the writers don't care to have Elena do anything that doesn't include Damon. Matt also has this whole problem of trying not to be killed by Enzo.


    Like it or not, Stefan is in the best position to be there for her right now.

    I still think that relative to other characters, Caroline gets a much better edit and on a show that focuses so much on romantic relationships, it seems natural for that to be a big part of every character's story, and it is. One could argue that Stefan's character is getting equally short-changed, because his main story also revolves around Caroline. But this is the Vampire diaries, where relationships are a big focus of the show.

    A question has been on my mind. I know that daylight rings are handed out like candy on these shows, but Elena losing hers is a pretty big deal. Am I the only one who would be bummed if Luke or Liv make her some lame ring and everyone forgets about it? I sort of hope Luke and Liv's coven takes their power away to force them to merge- or any plot twist that would make Elena hold out until she can get another ring with sentimental value. Even better, maybe there's a spell somewhere to physically change Elena so she doesn't need a daylight ring, since she isn't just a vampire anyway. I never understood why someone who is a werewolf and vampire is called a hybrid, but doppelganger vampires are still just vampires even though their blood can still be used for powerful spells? It doesn't make sense.

    Elena had a Kai situation and now that she's free, she can only come out at night and also has to make up for lost Delena time for the fans, Tyler is busy protecting Liz and doesn't really owe Caroline anything, Jeremy only appears at the end of a fight scene to shoot an arrow through someone, Damon isn't exactly her friend, but still appears occasionally to make a snarky remark and Bonnie is currently in another realm being ignored by producers. That leaves Matt and Stefan. I really don't think that a ton of Caroline/Matt scenes would hold as much interest with viewers as much a Caroline/Stefan scene. Plus, Stefan's one of her best friends and seems to have a lot of free time on his hands.....

    Hated her in 5th season but this season she has grown on me.We know nothing about luke to grow attached to.The only special attribute of his character is that he is the 1st gay character of Mystic falls but unlike josh in TO,that aspect went nowhere as expected!

    Stefan is the one to support Caroline because he's her closest friend. Tyler and her aren't close friends and he's busy with his girl friend. Matt was with Liz in 611 but, while he's always eager to support Elena, the same isn't true when it's Caroline. And Elena is too busy flirting with Damon. She came at the hospital in 610 but took off to see him so he can cheer her up because the fact that her friend's mother is dying had to be about herself having a bad day.

    Caroline's father was gay to so technically Luke isn't the first gay character of MF. But I get why this doesn't really count. I see Luke as the first gay character too. I was kind of exicted when he first showed up because I always hoped a gay character would join the cast but since that went nowhere i wouldn't mind him dying either. I'm more than happy with Josh and Aiden anyway.
    Liv has grown on me in S6 too! Especially since she killed that guy to keep Tyler from activating his werewolf gene

    I want to like Liv - in theory, she has everything I would like about a female character - she's sarcastic, resourceful, can take care of herself, has a no-nonsense attitude to romance. And yet she keeps annoying me. I don't understand what's wrong! Maybe she's too perfect?

    And true, we don't know much about Luke yet, but he's so tiny and oddly adorable. And the casual mentions of his personal life are hilarious to me - it's like he's leading a whole other life in the place so used to tween drama. Sugar daddy radiologist? For real?

    Damon has a house full of witches so I guess he will be the one to ask Luke/Liv/Jo to make Elena a new daylight ring and I think he will give it to her on their date.
    I agree about the the doppelganger/vampires thing.

    I don't know why it even matters to me, but it doesn't seem right that the main character will probably get her new daylight ring from some random witch. Most of the major characters have rings made by Bennett witches, and jewelry companies make replicas of those rings. If Elena's first daylight ring had sentimental value, then I think her new ring should hold equal significance. What point was there to having Kai melt Elena's ring if it can't lead to even a small story about how she gets another one? Otherwise it was unnecessary to do anything with the ring. We already know that Elena misses Bonnie.

    I'm going to ignore the Delena re-courtship and try to enjoy the show in spite of that. An arc is being spent on that to please one group of fans while many others feel that the relationship has run its course and there's no logical basis for a re-run.

    Exactly my point.No point in announcing a character is gay/lesbian separately if you're going to explore none of it.Only thing it succeeded to do for the writers is that no one in the fandom grew attached to Luke since they all know by now that if a recurring character cannot be shipped with someone from the series regualr cast romantically on some level,they're disposable any time!

    I get it. I feel the same way about the daylight ring. Her new one should have a sentimental value as well. But I doubt it will..
    In the sneak peek Damon and Elena are planning their date before Elenas goes off to work. And if she can go to work that means she already has a new daylight ring. And I think that sneak peek scene is going to be on the beginning of the Episode so I guess her getting a new daylight ring won't be a big deal

    That or Elena is currently sharing a daylight ring with Damon. He was at her dorm before she went to work, leaving him in her dorm, and it looks like his scenes will take place at night or inside for a while. I guess it shouldn't matter either way.

    They can't share a daylight ring. A daylight ring can only be used by the person it was made for. That's also why Elena kept her daylight ring while imitating Katherine (when she was meeting with Elijah). Before that she wanted Katherine to hand over her bracelet and she was like "that's my daylight bracelet. It's not going to work on you anyway"

    Not sure how to respond to that - is it offensive because he's barely adult or because he's gay?
    I interpreted it as Luke knowing he was going to die and living it up whatever way he could. It's the radiologist bit that made it funny for me, it was so bizarrely specific yet random and totally clashes with the stereotype of a sugar daddy.
