  1. Steroline just keeps getting better each episode. Seriously, I'm all for the idea of those two holding hands in every episode.

  2. This was great episode why because no Enzo but seriously soooo happy Liz didn't die

    ReplyDelete
  3. I voted awesome. I really thought liz was a goner for a moment there. Caroline made me tear up. Glad she woke up. Also i can't stand selfish elena. She doesn't support Caroline. Wat kind of friend is she?? At this point, i DYING for Bonnie to return. I miss her. Im glad shes in the next episode otherwise...

  4. Episode great. I cried a lot. Poor Liz and Caro. Aaa and Luke. So many dedicated himself solely. I did not expect that from him. Now kai is very strong. Poor Jo. All the poor in this episode.

  5. This episode KILLED ME! Everything was sad. And intense!! And I balled my eyes out in the middle!! Ok here we go..

The beginning was heartbreaking. There were emotions all over the place. Stefan trying to be the rock. Elena blaming him,(I get her, but I also get him) loved him striking back. Damon's anger with how he deals with grief, and Caroline, my sweet sweet Caroline, in despair, losing it, picking out flower arrangements, trying to keep it together. Awww. I felt sooo bad for Liz. When Elena went to talk to her, and Liz had flowing tears down her cheeks. Awwww.

Luke and Kai- Omg their scene was intense and Luke was real badass in that moment. I'm soo pissed that he's gone. And I felt real bad for Liv. And I don't even like her. And their father is annoying as hell! I hate him, I hope Jo takes him out!

Delena- Well I guess my theory wasn't correct. I wanted her freaking memories back and it just didn't happen. Ughhh! That's it, I give up, they're not coming back.

Stefan and Caroline- Ok the flower scene was very nice. I love that Elena couldn't find her, and he knew exactly where she would be. But my favorite part was him telling Caroline about HIS MOM! That was so sad and sweet. That was really special. He's never shared that with anyone. ANYONE! So I love how that story helped her. I also adored how he knew she preferred O negative blood. I really think she's starving herself. She hasn't been drinking like she should. Caroline listening in as Stefan and Liz were talking. I knew she'd be there. I felt that scene was too short, b/c I would've really loved to know what Caroline was thinking in that moment.

Liz and Caroline- These two crushed me, when Elena was trying to save her life, then the doctor, and Caroline walked in. I poured my eyes out!! The flashbacks that Liz were having (btw it was nice to see the Caroline baby pic again) about leaving. Damn, flew down my face. And idk if I know what that dream meant, she saw Caroline as a vampire and that woke her?? Unless it was symbolic for Caroline was actually holding her? Or that Caroline was about to go dark if Liz left her? Idk, but that part of the dream threw me, b/c when Liz woke up she was very calm and tender. My face lit up when she woke up that was a BREATH of fresh air! I was able to breathe again. That was close. I'm very happy that Liz left the house in Caroline's name as well.

My VIP goes to Liz. For being such a fighter. And she had the best line of the night....Liz- "Just do it Kai, listening to you talk makes me want to die." LOL GO LIZ!!! And the funny part is, he actually listened!! See even pyschos have soft spots for obeying moms. Lol

I felt this episode was kinda fast paced. There was a lot going on. In a good way, i suppose. Sometimes i felt scenes were too short, and should've been a little longer. But i liked it. Next week looks very intense. And it's Bonnie-centric!! Now even though Bonnie will still be there for her bday, if Jeremy can reach her, i'll feel better about that.

  6. I didn't even notice he wasn't in the episode (til i just read your comment) that's how little he means.

    ReplyDelete
  7. the entire episode was so sad aah poor Liz, and the twin merge omg I am so pissed that Kai won -.-

    ReplyDelete
  8. Very suspenseful. I figured out a long time ago that Luke would merge with Kai and die. I loved the packing-up sequence with Liz, but she can't find peace if there's too much risk of Caroline losing her humanity.

So sick of Tyler. I won't even try to hide it anymore. It's very fortunate that he isn't in every episode. I would have a hard time tolerating that. He has got to go.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I was actually on the edge of my seat when it and to the merge. I didn't know who would win, but I'm not surprised Kai won. I'm glad it's not the end of Chris Wood oh this show, but I feel bad about Luke :(

I cried when Liz was revived. This storyline is so painful. I really feel terrible for Caroline. Be happy baby :(

Also a Salvatore momma mention! I need to see baby Damon and Stefan this season. It's an exchange for us having to put up with all that Delena garbage, mmmkay Julie?

Bonnie next episode. About damn time.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Swoon! Yeahhhh! But as i said in my comment. In that scene, my favorite was Stefan telling her about his mom. (and dad). B/c he's never been that open with anyone. Also loved that he knew where to find her. (when Elena couldn't) and that he knows what type of blood she drinks. That's all very important. I adore that. It's the little things. He knows her completely, i love that.

  11. Exactly. Why is cancer suddenly the only disease that can make a vampire really sick? I'm totally not buying it. Bad writing. It should have at the least put it in full remission, which seems to be the case for all vampires, and then if something happens, they suffer the disease.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Jumped the shark with Liz waking up way too late. And why bother if she's just going to die from the cancer anyway. This made no sense, just like cancer is suddenly the one thing vampire blood doesn't work on. I'm not buying this bad writing.

Luke was such a useless character, I didn't even care he died. He had the personality of a painted wall.

I don't like Elena and Damon's reunion without her memories. It just seems fake without that.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I knew Luke was going to die, since he was the twin who had no storyline or on-screen love interest. They won't kill off Kai until the end of the season so I knew he'd be staying.

I wish they had just killed off Liz tonight. I see no point in dragging out her death.

Once that guy died and became a vampire he should have been fine. Enzo died of consumption, Elena had a brain injury when she died - and there's never been anything to indicate vampires get sick or stay stick and I don't like that retcon.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'd be okay with the whole vampire blood doesn't cure cancer - but once the person is dead and a vampire it should go away because vampires shouldn't be able to have cancer. Once this Colin guy died and became a vampire he should have been a normal vampire - he shouldn't still be dying of cancer, it made no sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  15. neither of the boys talk about their mother, i wonder why, it sounds like she was an amazing woman

    ReplyDelete
  16. Why was Stefan struggling with Collin's body? Super vamp strength anybody? Also shut up Elena, you're giving Stefan shit for actually being their for your best friend?
Yes Liv you were wearing too much eyeliner.

Not that it matters in the end, but why didn't Kai just absorb Luke's magic and kill him?
How could the Sheriff be code blueing in the hospital and no doctors or nurses rushing into the room?

Also Tyler remains the worst. And Kai the best.

    ReplyDelete
  17. STUPID BLONDIE BOY! STUPID! I like him better than Blondie girl. I am so ready for Bonnie to came back and kick, rip, screw Kai to pieces.
Mama Forbes, that was a close call. Everybody there and her dying. That was some well done scene!
Something i dont get. Is she on trransition now?. How did she wake up¿?
Here I wonder where the magic beans go now when they die?

    ReplyDelete
  18. you knew he would though, what scared was that Kai would Luke

    ReplyDelete
  19. the tumor probably isn't growing anymore but it's still there. it's like you're not gonna lose your moles when you become vampire.

    ReplyDelete
  20. aren't they technically back though i mean Elena fell in love with Damon again even without her memories, yeah Luke was one heroic man, he wasn't strong just in being a witch but in who he was as a person, your theory about Caroline makes complete sense

    ReplyDelete
  21. Kai's the Big Bad so you knew he wasn't going anywhere but why couldn't it have been Papa Gemini to have died in the merge

    ReplyDelete
  22. cancer's not a wound it's the body being a D-word

    ReplyDelete
  23. that's what i thought when they said his cancer grew faster and was a stage 10

    ReplyDelete
  24. it needed to be a merge, they said now that he merged Kai's a full powered witch so now he's 100% more dangerous than he already was

    ReplyDelete
  25. Kai sucked the magic out of Liz so she didn't die with vampire blood in her system, Luke was freaking heroic though wasn't he? no wonder he's more powerful

    ReplyDelete
  26. oh right periods, forgot about that lol. Or Chuck if you saw that show, she didn't gain her memories in the end, she was slowly getting them back but we didn't see her getting them fully back. Fringe did it right she gained her memories slowly at first but then got them all back.

    ReplyDelete
  27. No they aren't. They're starting over as a couple that's it. The memories of what they once had, and all those beautiful moments are gone. Starting over w/o her past memories doesn't mean she's technically back with them. It just means she started to like a "stranger" from her past, whom just happens to be her ex-boyfriend. I hate it. Sweet and all, but it's so " The Vow" I can't stand it. It's annoying.

Dude, what's with your run on sentences?? Please fix that. We already have one girl on here that does that. Why, idk, but It's very distracting. And you know better than that. lol Add some periods please.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Damn! You beat me to it! I was in the middle of explaining it. Since some still don't understand. But now i don't have to. Soooo....what i'd really like to say is thanks. LOL Loved your answer, and i agree. = )

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hahaha. Thanks. And i didn't watch either of those shows.

    ReplyDelete
  30. That really wasn't the point. But for the record, she was mentioned once by Damon and their Father. And Damon and Stefan were close to her, that's why.

    ReplyDelete
  31. good response and it totally makes sense

    ReplyDelete
  32. yeah i remember, i really want to know more about her. Like her name at least, we know their dick father's name we should know their mom's.

    ReplyDelete
  33. i still dont get that. I thought "cool" this what the mundanes see when they are about to become vampire, tehy see the face of he one that gaves them the blood xD.

    ReplyDelete
  34. LOL, yeah but Liz is not in transition

    ReplyDelete
  35. oh huh, that actually could've worked but Luke would still be dead when he sucked all of Luke's magic

    ReplyDelete
  36. They actually shed all the purposeless characters like jeremy, matt, enzo for one episode & let the main arc flow seamlessly in this one.
The Merge-The result was more than obvious for quit some time now.Kai isn't going anywhere since we all know he's the big BAD for this entire season. He's going to pop in and out until the end.I really hope Bonnie kills him brutally in the season finale. He's just bad news!As for luke, the character was solely a plot-device from the beginning,no wonder he ended up dead. But he did step up to save his sisters-both of them-i admire that even though he failed in the process.I'm glad liz is safe, for now. And,can someone kill Papa Parker NOW,Damon please do the honor next time he randomly pops up.He's an ass.
The cancer-The entire episode mainly focused on this particular track & i have to say it was very well done.Real mature & sensible. The steroline interactions & mother-daaughter scenes were really heartbreaking.I feel really bad for caroline. What a horrible position to be in!I'm really relieved to see she didn't die at the hospital, that would've been horrible.
Delena-I'm glad they kept their interactions as minimal & realistic as possible, although i could've done without that odd kissing scene at the end.A warm hug would've been sufficient.Oh,well...

Overall, another great episode this season.Looking forward to see Bonnie's birthday & the girl herself in the next one!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I actually don't think Luke was more powerful. I think Liv lied to him because she knew he wouldn't want to risk her life. Her guilt over lying to him is what's going to force her to take on Kai which might allow Luke's personality to gain some control over Kai's.

When he said he was more powerful than Liv to their Dad, the Dad gave Liv a look like "what is he talking about?"

    ReplyDelete
  38. I really hope we get to see her one day in flashbacks.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Actually,we are going to see young stefan and damon this season in a flashback. So,your wish has been granted already.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Then it wouldn't be tragic and sad.

    ReplyDelete
  41. yeah i guess, it just sucks that he died

    ReplyDelete
  42. That's her name in the book. And since the show is based on the book that will continue to be her name, until when/if the writers decide to change it. But they're content with Mary. That was discussed years ago in season 1.

    ReplyDelete
  43. no Kai's personality is way more potent than Luke's so don't count Kai as redeemable

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ya.I read in the casting call details & in one spoiler news a month ago.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Best exchange of the night
Kai: Alright, I need a 12-gauge needle STAT. Don't know what I'm gonna do with it, but I need it,"
Elena: You're not a doctor. So stop playing games.
    ----------------------------
Kai: I get what you two see in each other. It's very dys-fun-ctional. See what I did? Stressing the "fun" in dysfunctional.....
Liz: Just get on with it Kai. Just listening to you talk makes me want to die.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I re-watched the scene of Papa kai.Whose personality is potent is not the point here, what becomes of the person after both their traits merge,is the main issue here. They made him sacrifice himself for his two sisters to prove this very theory. We knew nothing of this luke character, suddenly two episodes ago,we started hearing how he is more powerful than liv.In theory, his traits are potent enough to incite a change in kai although we never got to see that on-screen!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I can feel you gloating. I hate you. = p

    ReplyDelete
  48. There you go. Now you have some closure. haha.

    ReplyDelete
  49. for real? it's confirmed?

    ReplyDelete
  50. he stopped the merge and got Kai to him, he was definitely more powerful. God this family's insane. I'm surprised The Twitches and the Doc turned out normal.

    ReplyDelete
  51. it is? how do you know?

    ReplyDelete
  52. That's exactly what I'm saying. It goes against everything. Whatever a vampire has should at the very least be dormant, if not cured and healed.

    ReplyDelete
  53. And both involves Kai.No wonder he's such a great villain!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I like to thank Damon for that. Now she's just dying "regularly." Should give her two (maybe 3) more days. I would like to see more of their scenes before she passes.

    ReplyDelete
  55. LOL!Don't worry.I think you'll get that chance when enzo dies in the finale with me!

    ReplyDelete
  56. When i watching those steroline moments,i was thinking Shannon will have a Field-day on this one!

    ReplyDelete
  57. And Julie Plec once again proves she couldn't give less of a shit about representing and utilising gay characters. Out of the four or five gay characters introduced in a franchise that's spanned nearly eight seasons and we've got one fledgling romance between two of them and the others have off screen romances and die...

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm sorry, are you saying b/c he was a gay character he was wasted? B/c i disagree.

    ReplyDelete
  59. well she's going to investigate Elena and Jeremy's parent's death so i would assume so

    ReplyDelete
  60. I didn't even realize that there was a fledgling romance. I must have blinked and missed it!

    ReplyDelete
  61. And when i was watching the merge go down i said, "up, there it is, I'm gonna hear Joy's voice". LOL true story.

Edit: And i sure did. But i'm waiting for their conversation that's soon to come. (last night i couldn't sleep thinking up dialog) lol

    ReplyDelete
  62. Idc about that. I just care that she lives and spends more time with Caroline (and Damon.). If he didn't do what he did she would've been dead. (Since Jo only gave her 8 hrs)

    ReplyDelete
  63. At least now anyone won't be in the delusion that SC is going to be anything but a couple borne out of pity. i mean an actual death bed guilting into making stefan responsible for caroline happiness! you know cause every woman needs a man to take care of her!

    ReplyDelete
  64. And since when was Liz a surrogate mother to Elena? i mean wasn´t the whole thing how Liz was always busy working so caroline was left alone! and now its because she was what busy taking care of Elena just so that her death can be a prop for delena! i just no no no no

    ReplyDelete
  65. Awesome episode and an interesting ending. Now we wait to see how this merge will change Kai.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I really don't want Luke to change. I love him just the way he is. If anything I'm hoping he'll absorb all of Luke's bad traits instead of good ones, just to keep him the same or worse. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  67. Luke didn't win this one. But i'm hoping for the other way around.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Liz' sudden recovery was the catalyst that launched Damon and Elena's life-is-too-short makeout session. But even more importantly, her illness is the reason Kai got his powers back before Jo had time to become strong enough, forcing Luke to make the ultimate sacrifice. Damon and Elena, bargained with Kai and helped him get more power, because in their own self-centered world, they felt that extending the life of a friend by a few days or weeks was far more important to than the lives of Luke, Liv or Jo. Of course, their stupid plan backfired because Kai is smarter than both of them collectively and now everyone's life is in danger, thanks to them. So not only was Liz' illness used as a plot device for the "much-awaited" Delena kiss, but it was also the trigger for the most boneheaded Delena move in the history of TVD. The jury is still out on whether Stelena will ever happen so why not focus on the things that have actually resulted from Liz' illness?

On a sidenote, even if her illness did trigger a Caroline and Stefan romance, I don't see the big deal. Practically every romance in the Vampire diaries arises in the setting of a a difficult situation or a tragedy. Tyler becoming a werewolf brought him closer to Caroline. Elena and Damon became really close after Stefan gave up his humanity to save Damon from a werewolf bite. The writers destroyed Tyler in order for Klaroline to become a ship. Relationships don't ever happen in a vacuum on this show. And I'm almost certain that if they wanted Caroline and Stefan to get together, they could have figured out a million ways for it to happen over the years. They didn't need to kill Liz to make it happen, and it's clear now, that the writers are using Liz' illness to serve as the launchpad for a number of things.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wow. I'm sorry. I mean Kai. I don't want Kai to change. Sorry, I'm getting tired. It's 5 to 4am. Let me change those names. Smh I didn't even notice.

    ReplyDelete
  70. oof but still Kai's just plain psycho, so if anything having Luke's personality will make him even more psychotic

    ReplyDelete
  71. Luke didn't have any individual storyline or any ongoing romantic interest with any major characters on the show. It's not shocking they ended the character when they closed a chapter of Gemini coven with the completion of merge. It had nothing to do with his sexual orientation, but that's just me.He would've died even if he was straight.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Why didn't Matt and Jeremy come to visit dying Liz in this episode?
I thought the sheriff and matt were close, last week we saw him taking care of her in caroline's home!
    Bad continuity writers!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I know they would have paired them together no matter what since they´ve run out of stories for stefan ( yeah its about stefan not caroline she´s just there to make him feel heroic) and i´ll never approve since i think an iceberg has more sizzle than those 2. But the way they have gone about it is just so forced and over the top seriously now the bonding over dead mommas, the liz on her death bed make it her last dying wish, the every single character propping it up, her holding the never before seen snowglobe in her hand when having heart to heart with liz etc its just too much i mean for somebody who claims only to write organic stories this sure seems everything but that

    ReplyDelete
  74. Although i'm completely against the idea of Steroline romance, your points are very sound & logical. That Delena kiss was so odd and completely unnecessary. And was the sun exploding in the background while they were kissing? What was THAT?

    ReplyDelete
  75. cause liz was only a mother figure to elena not to jeremey and we can´t have other people taking the focus from the heartbreak elena is having over loosing liz ;)

    ReplyDelete
  76. Elena needs to get off this show ASAP.She even lectured Stefan this episode!Liz's near-death experience made her to make-out with damon!WOW!Where's the girl from season 1-3?Where did she go?

    ReplyDelete
  77. to the magical land in julies plec head where nothing makes sense and everything sucks

    ReplyDelete
  78. Caroline gets more screentime than practically anyone else in the cast with the exception of Damon and Elena and I would argue that Stefan's story revolves entirely around Caroline's, not the other way around. I don't know why people keep saying that she's shortchanged. How much screentime did any of the other characters get when their parents died, if any? If things suck for Caroline's fans, imagine what it's like for fans of anyone whose name isn't Delena. Plus, it's fine not to like Stefan and Caroline as a couple, but the reality is that the two of them have been best friends for a while, so it makes sense for Stefan to be there. I'm not as avid a Steroline shipper as most people, but their relationship has been one of the most organic ones on the show (especially when you compare it to the massive WTF Klaroline moment). I feel like the show has been building up to those two for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Only logic is that everyone LOVES kai, fans and the writers,so they are coming up with ways to keep him in the show.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Sadly, the popularity of the female characters seems to be proportional to the # of ships that they have. I'm kind of resigned to the fact that on the Vampire Diaries, people will either date or be ignored (Matt).

    ReplyDelete
  81. Can he kill vampires now by stripping them off vampirism like he did with liz? What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Why would Luke's personality make him more psychotic? Less funny, perhaps, but not more psychotic.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Colin wasn't dying of cancer when he became a vampire. He was feeling the pain but he couldn't die. Vampire blood makes the cells grow and divide faster which is exactly how wounds and injuries are healed. So if a vampire has cancer cells, it also makes cancer cells grow faster too therefore the cancer spreads in the whole body and the vampire blood can't actually heal anything because cancer isn't like any other diseases. There's nothing to heal.

    ReplyDelete
  84. You forgot jeremy.He's/was also part of ship which sank more royally than TITANIC-Beremy!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Plus, Bonnie's first agenda when she returns, will be to kill Kai!

    ReplyDelete
  86. "I could kiss you right now, you beautiful moron" Oh, TVD. How easily you can make me laugh in an overall sad episode. This line and the "dysFUNctional" joke both made me burst out laughing. Though I was curious whether Damon really does it or not. The last time he said something like this ("I could actually hug you right now") he actually gave Bonnie a jaw-dropping hug.
Don't care about Steroline. Though props to the writers for mentioning Mama Salvatore. I need more info on her asap, which, I guess I'll get in 6x15 flashbacks to 1858.
So angry that Luke died. I love Liv but i liked Luke more. The upside: Kai survived! Which means go to hell Luke. As long as Kai is on my screen, I don't care. LOL
To quote Katherine:"You had a good plan ,Damon. And that's high praise coming from me." Although his plan blew up in his face, At least he did something. Others were running around having long long conversations.
Enzo and Jeremy were absent and no one noticed. and no one cares. Though Matt was needed in the episode.
Delena was ok. Keep them low on drama please. They're ok when they're not the front and center.
Overall it was a nice episode.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I don't know.....but I guess it means that Elena's new ring is working. I thought the timing of that kiss was pretty bad in light of everything that was going on. It was kind of like the time they were discussing their relationship instead of trying to meet Bonnie halfway in that prison realm.

    ReplyDelete
  88. For the same reason that when Ric literally had Kai all powerless with gun pointed at his head and was hearing the encouraging "KILL HIM!" orders from Damon, he just decided to knock him out. And i don't even remember why exactly he didn't kill him but anyway. -_- If Kai dies, Ric is gonna sulk like a petty child and Damon can't have that. So...

    ReplyDelete
  89. So true. They were cute for 5 hot seconds in season 2 and then, they were NOT.

    ReplyDelete
  90. LOL. I call that the ship that sailed offscreen!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Why on earth would Alaric care whether Kai lives or not?

    ReplyDelete
  92. one more thing how the hell can a dead mans cancer keep growing!? i get well i dont agree with but i hear what your saying regarding not curing it BUT this nope nope nope

    ReplyDelete
  93. Haha, it’s like they’re purposefully giving ammunition to anti-shippers at this point. Liz telling Stefan to take care of Caroline and make her smile? ‘He’s being guilt-tripped into romance! It’s gross and sick!’

Elena kissing Damon after Liz nearly dies? ‘She’s making it all about herself, again! She should be thinking only of Caroline and Liz!’

Oh, show, please don’t ever change.

I don’t get the point of melting off Elena’s ring though – was it Delena baiting? Annoying Stelenas? A symbol? A foreshadowing of a future event? Hopefully the last one.

I liked how they answered my questions – why Liz can’t become a vampire and that Papa Kai can, in fact, force the twins to merge. Appreciated. Sad about Luke tho. I started to like him.

Overall, an enjoyable episode, but I’m starting to wish for new story lines. And I’m missing Bonnie.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Its actually Lily and she will soon appear as she has been cast. You can find ger audition video on vimeo

    ReplyDelete
  95. I agree with you re amnesia. In principle it's romantic, brings up many interesting questions about the nature of love and the writers have utilized it pretty well so far, but... eh, it just feels off. Like I'm still waiting for the punchline for the idea.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Haha, as always I love your unbridled enthusiasm for the emotional aspects of the show. I really wish I was less jaded and could enjoy the show the same way you do!

And the Caroline as a vampire scene made me pause too - there's so many interpretations of the writers' intent. Was it just teasing? Actual foreshadowing? Representation of Liz's worry for Caroline's future? Justification for Liz's plea to Stefan? All at once? I guess we'll see down the road.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Jeremy and Anna were ten times better in my opinion

    ReplyDelete
  98. They're really going for fan wish fulfillment this year, aren't they? Makes me believe the rumours about switching to different main characters next season.

But I'm looking forward to baby Salvatores. Hope they managed to find suitable enough actors.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Stefan said his father sent her away. How crazy would it be if she showed up as a vampire now? Just imagine all the mommy issues thrown onto the brothers!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Probably Klaus? Heh, I'm just being mean. I agree with you about Steroline - I'm not a shipper of them (not against them, just willing to see what happens) but it's been getting more and more obvious for a while now that the writers are playing with the idea.

And as a Caroline fan I have to say I'm very satisfied with what she's been given so far this season, even if (or maybe because) she's getting put through the wringer.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Yeah, she had to be to live with Giuseppe Salvatore! Damon said that she died of consumption, at least that's what he, and presumably Stefan, thinks. Since Damon is older, he might know. Stefan's saying in last night's ep that his father sent his mother away when she was very sick might back that idea up. Back in the 1800s when people had "consumption" - what we now know as tuberculosis - there were no drugs to treat it and they used to send people away to places called "sanitariums" which were located where the climate was supposed to help sufferers. I think they mostly died anyway. I agree, I would love to "meet" Damon & Stefan's mom. I've been wishing for a long time that there would be a flashback with her.

    ReplyDelete
  102. At this point, I'll take Kai having internal conflict and being redeemable over just... existing. I still think the best written villain was Damon Season 1. He started off small and kept getting more and more insane. Kai on the other hand started off BIG (killing his siblings) and then... nothing? He's still cute and funny, but just not very surprising.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Just like with Steroline and Liz's cancer, I suspect the writers were aware of that (I honestly think they're doing it on purpose at this point). Individual Delena scenes usually don't make full sense to me until the end of the arc/season, sometimes even later, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Are Elena's tendencies really that surprising when the explanation for why Stefan's vampirism appealed to her was her parents' death? And Vicky's death and having Jeremy mind-raped made her focus on how she can't lose her feelings for Stefan? Girl's always had issues.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Haha, why is everybody so bent out of shape about the whole cancer issue? The show has dished out so much logical crapola at us over the years and yet this is the tipping point? Given the inconsistencies in magical power levels of spells depending on what the plot needs, I'm totally okay with a 'just because' explanation.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Vampires aren't exactly dead. Their cells continue to grow and regenerate just like those of a normal living person (otherwise they'd disintegrate).HIs tumor will keep growing because it is a part of his body. But the difference between normal cells and tumor cells is that the latter generally don't know when to stop growing,so they grow beyond their confines.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Good thing none of them seem to smoke then. Just imagine the new cig packet warnings: 'Smoking harms those around you. (Also, vampires)'

But like Jordana below said, it's only if they have cancer before they die. I'm more amazed the issue hasn't come up before - surely, over those 1000 years there must've been some people turned who already had cancer? Eh, they probably 'haven't heard of it before'.

    ReplyDelete
  108. yes its the fact that from now on the threats to vampires are sunlight, stakes to the heart and cancer ;)

    ReplyDelete
  109. because its so mind blowingly stupid and yes thats saying alot in regards to TVD ;) a vampire with cancer lmao i just can´t even its to much for me a vampire who should by all counts be immortal being with supernatural healing powers although they according to Elena don´t have all the time in the world since life is to short to waste! (another gem from lastnight) dies from cancer because his cancer kept growing after his death........ yeah this might be the bottom of the stupid barrel

    ReplyDelete
  110. Probably only if they have the cancer before they die.

    ReplyDelete
  111. So it's the contrast of the supernatural and the very real life issue of cancer? Hmm, I guess I can understand that. A vampire with cancer does sound really silly. I only hope their STDs get cured when they're turned.

Elena is 20 or so? I think immortality is still just a concept to her. Won't become real for another decade or two. And she DID mention that she knows she's immortal.

    ReplyDelete
  112. that'd be crazy and if it IS Annie Wercshing that's a high caliber actress

    ReplyDelete
  113. whoa can that guy get any worse? and i think i've been wishing we would meet the Salvatores mother since season 1, so i really hope we see her. To see an actual parent who loved the Salvatores when we saw what a monster their father was and he wasn't even a vampire.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I agree. It should have happened more frequently before (you got me stumped there!). Although maybe there have been people in the past who couldn't tolerate the process of turning and no one knew why......

    ReplyDelete
  115. I used to think that Matt was never given a serious love interest to be kept as a possible endgame option for Elena but he's too absent for that now.

So far, the only character who's had no love interest is... Kai? Congrats, Kai!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Maybe. Actually, that they had no idea about any of it is not really that illogical for TVD. In Season 2 they were all 'there are no werewolves, we've never heard of them before' and then werewolves turned out to be everywhere. They're just not very well educated vampires.

    ReplyDelete
  117. David Mazouz for young Damon

    ReplyDelete
  118. Seriously,....this is one of the few plot twists that actually do make sense biologically , and it's the one people are most bothered by! I was actually more confused by the fact that Kai could suck away the effect of Vampire Blood! They guy's abilities know no end. I mean where is he going to suck magic from next time? Disney world?

    ReplyDelete
  119. OMG it was super awesome, the best of the season IMO. Loved every single moment

    ReplyDelete
  120. I guess because they needed him to do the merge with Joe so that he would die and Jo, Luke and Liv wouldn´t. That´s why they haven´t killed him. Now that he´s merged, they´ll kill him

    ReplyDelete
  121. Come on, she just realized that people can die any second and she thought the sherrif just did, when she didn´t she felt relieved and decided to live live at the fullest now, and she is falling in love with Damon, again, so she decided to kiss him because she didn´t wanna waste another minute

    ReplyDelete
  122. So, Kai now has powers of his own? Or is he just like he was, with the ability to absorb power, but also being the leader of the coven?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Haha, would that really be that much magic at this point? I agree it makes sense, but I also get what amber is saying - it's the contrast of 'vampire' and 'cancer' that strikes people as odd.

Also, I get what you're saying in your other post about vampire cells still growing, but you have to admit that overall it's arbitrary - so they heal and cancer cells grow but they cannot reproduce? And don't get me started on how they eat and drink but never go to the toilet? What about conservation of matter?

And werewolves have venom in their gums?

That's why I choose to just go along with it. Makes my brain hurt otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Is Bonnie really an exception? Overall, she scores higher but she literally defied the rules of death twice for her love interest. And to be fair, the male characters are not doing any better on this show. Has there ever been a vampire more emotionally pathetic than Damon?

    ReplyDelete
  125. I have no idea who that is, but I'd rather not google him so I can be surprised later. Thanks for the info though!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Trule. However, I've noticed that a number of people advocating a non-romantic story for Caroline are also Klaroline shippers, so basically, they just want her to save herself for Klaus!

    ReplyDelete
  127. Yes. I really liked Bonnie and Jeremy in the beginning and they definitely had chemistry. Then Kevin Williamson left, Plec took over and killed that one.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I'm not touching the reproduction thing, or anything to do with bathroom practices! (Do vampires really not go to to the bathroom? I did not know that ). Any explanation that I come up with would most definitely be arbitrary! Reproduction requires a lot more than just cell division (unless we're amoebas!) so it's not really the same as a tumor proliferating, though. Like I said, the only reason that I even tried to explain the cancer thing is that it's one of the few things in this crazy supernatural saga that actually makes any biological sense and the cancer patient dying from Caroline's blood is an outcome I would have predicted (so not arbitrary at all).

I'm curious, though...of all the crazy things that happens with werewolves, why would the fact that they have venom in their saliva be the one thing that you question? That's something that happens quite frequently in nature......with other animals.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I thought Damon 's plan was terrible, self serving and near-sighted, He wanted to help his friend, and thought it was worth putting everyone else's life in danger. If he hadn't done anything, Jo would have had time to get stronger so that she could face Kai. None of that was worth prolonging Liz' life for a few days. A cancer patient already died a horrible death with no family around him, because Caroline thought it was OK to experiment on him to cure her mom. After that outcome, they should have left things alone.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Somehow the idea of Kai going through mental stress makes me smile.

    ReplyDelete
  131. From the writer's standpoint, there is very little that Kai cannot do! But same goes for Bonnie. i'm sure that if she put her mind to it, she could come up with a spell that allowed Luke and Kai to unmerge....

    ReplyDelete
  132. And even Kai has a ship....it's called Bonkai (sigh),...let's hope that one never ever ever sets sail.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I agree. Jo was trying to spare the lives of Luke and Liv, but in trying to do so, the outcome is now even worst!

    ReplyDelete
  134. Damon didn't want Jo in the fight. He originally asked Joshua to merge
the blond twins. When Jo claimed that she wasn't ready, Damon replied
that he knew and that had been taken care of. Even if he didn't care
about Jo, he cares about Ric and he would do anything to not lose his
friendship. So no, he wasn't expecting Jo to beat Kai. He wanted Liv and
Luke to merge. And Liv and Luke merging was THE most idealistic
situation which was supposed to happen in the first place because the
merge was inevitable, so with Jo out of question, the other twins had to
merge and that was certainly not Damon's problem. Because the blond
twins merging was the original plan of the Gemini Coven and it wasn't
Damon's responsibility to prevent it. Either Luke or Liv would've won, Kai would've stayed powerless and Jo would've stayed alive. Exactly what it was originally planed by Gemini itself. The reason Jo was kidnapped by Kai
to merge, was that things got out of control and Damon's neck got
snapped, and Luke and Liv didn't merge in time. So Kai had time to go
    after Jo.
And besides Damon fixed the situation Caroline screwed up. If he hadn't done anything, Liz would've died, Jo would've tried to win the merge but seeing that even Luke wasn't strong enough to beat Kai, she probably would've died in the merge and Kai would've had access to permanent magic. Kai does have his magic now (which would've happened even if Damon hadn't done anything)and Luke died, but Jo is still alive and Liz has more time for Caroline to play the optimistic girl and screw everything up again. So no, his plan did blow off in his face but it won them points. Which is more than what others did in the entire episode.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Did anyone else notice how Stefan's only role this season is to prop Caroline? And people claim that the supporting cast serves no purpose. i have absolutely nothing against Caroline and Elena and their need for attention. But I need the supporting cast to watch this show. 40 minutes of Caroline/Elena propping would be too much.
I liked the episode, but I didn't need Delena kissing after Liz almost died. Elena shouldn't be in this storyline at all. I understand Damon being there to some degree. But Elena? No. Tyler being there would have made more sense, but they isolate the leads' storylines from the supporting characters to create more stories.

    ReplyDelete
  136. If you look at a drawing of the location of minor and major salivary glands in humans and various animals and look at where many of these glands empty (some of them actually have openings in the gums, and some of them lie in tissue in close approximation to the gums in humans), it really isn't a stretch. Although the point I was making was more one of relativity!

    ReplyDelete
  137. still, she had some likable qualities about her in the earlier seasons. Now she's just whiny, selfish & bi***y IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I liked anna but i never got the appeal that pair myself.I think jeremy as a character is pretty dull,so any ship concerning him doesn't appeal to me.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Venom in saliva I can totally understand - it's the fact that the venom can be extracted from their GUMS. A) saliva is not produced by the gums, B) if the implication is it's not really about saliva but some added component, then they have some sort of venom sack in their gums? Why? Wolves have no venom sacks.

TVD never flat out cleared up the toilet thing, but it seemed to be implied?

Also, the whole heart not beating yet blood sill flowing thing is unclear, but that seems to be a typical vampire stories issue. I can come up with some explanations but.. eh, ultimately, does it really matter?

I didn't mean that your explanation is arbitrary (it does make sense), but that TVD's choices of rules are arbitrary. But I think it's true of all supernatural stories, so, again, I usually just accept it ;)

    ReplyDelete
  140. Klaroline fans are only protesting Steroline romance coz they think Klaus is her true LOVE!Please!

    ReplyDelete
  141. The timing was really inappropriate for me.The sun bursting in the background with the melodramatic sound score didn't help either. Then again,i've started to block Elena/Delena from my vision as much as possible when they come on-screen,so soon i'll have no problem with any of her actions anymore!

    ReplyDelete
  142. Haha, okay. I totally suck at biology but it did intrigue me enough that I did a very perfunctory check at the time and didn't really find any glands emptying above the canines in humans. But assuming that there are (or exist in werewolves) - do salivary glands store large amounts of saliva? It was my understanding they secrete saliva (not venom) steadily over time. Which also leads to a technical and visual problem - Connor extracted a syringe-full of venom from a place that showed no swelling (unless I am misremembering), which is not possible through an exit canal.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Hahahahaha "Waiting for the punchline" right?? Those ordeals are rare. It happens, but it's rare. And those are always by accident. A car crash, someone fainting, a blow to the head, liquor. LOL The fact that she willingly erased all those moments, that defined some of the best moments of her life. Ughh, it just really irks me. And I don't really care that she's falling back in love with him, well I care, I just don't, CARE, you know? I'm also mad about that too. But for other reasons, that I don't feel like bringing up now. Maybe later. Maybe not, we'll see. Haha

    ReplyDelete
  144. He has permanent witchy power now, more powerful than ever.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I think it just created a problem for her to go out at that moment,so that kai can torture elena some more. There's nothing more to interprete on that matter.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Hahahaha, well thank you, at least you can get a kick out of my comments if not for the show itself. I think it meant that Liz knew Caroline would fall apart if she left. In the dream Liz was "ready to go" and wanted to say goodbye, but Liz saw her face, and decided it wasn't time. So she woke up. To us, the audience, we could interpret it as a tease, foreshadow. But from Liz's POV, I think that's what it was.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Her name is Mary. If it's Lily's then they changed it for the show. And since that episode has yet to be seen, iI'm still going with Mary.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Yeah so?? That's a given. She won't win.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I don't remember Bonnie ever being shown making the ring or giving it to Elena. If I recall correctly, Stefan told her Bonnie had made it, but it was much more of a deal that Stefan was giving her a ring than the fact that it was made by Bonnie. But fair enough, I'm willing to go with the Bonnie explanation. ...for now ;)

    ReplyDelete
  150. Bonkai? Lmao. So the branching hexagon of shipping doom is continuing to spread? Ahh, I shouldn't complain really - I actually enjoy reading ship wars and am amazed by TVD's relentless commitment to ship baiting.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I thought it was shot beautifully, the lights helped a lot, beautiful kiss :)

    ReplyDelete
  152. Yeah I remember reading that! I'm so excited to see baby Salvatores! I wonder how a flashback like that will play into the plot. I'm really curious about their relationship with their mother.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I wish it were papa Parker, he's a huge asshole. Don't get me wrong, I love Kai, so I'm glad he's sticking around. I hope they don't try and redeem him, though. He's fun and interesting simply being batshit crazy. They need to keep him that way.

    ReplyDelete
  154. I hope so. that will be interesting

    ReplyDelete
  155. Exactly what i thought you/any delena fan would say. So,we'll agree to disagree.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I think it has something to do with their father. That's why they are also bringing in some founding family council members too in the flashbacks.

    ReplyDelete
  157. But can he still absorb magic?

Oh, dear eff, I've just realized something TERRIBLE. Papa Kai said that if twins don't merge, then the Gemini bloodline will cease to exist. Bloodline. As in the next leader - now Kai - has to have children. So there's no hope for Kai - he will HAVE to get a romantic interest now. ...Bonkai, away!

I'm just kidding. They're all going to die horribly.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Well, it is what it is, it took us back to their last kiss way back in 5x22

    ReplyDelete
  159. I think we'll get all the answers regarding kai's current power in the next episode. As for the bloodline,i don't think once kai gets killed off,no one in the audience would be remotely interested to know what happened to that coven/bloodline.This arc will end with kai's death.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I respect your opinion but sometimes i am amazed at the difference of POV between the delena fandom and non-shipper fandom in general. It's like we're watching two different shows altogether!

    ReplyDelete
  161. ah well i really loved them, for me the most interesting Jeremy storyline was him as a Medium

    ReplyDelete
  162. or literally split Kai in half LOL

    ReplyDelete
  163. i just realized, Kai just merged so now what does he want?

    ReplyDelete
  164. Two Kais? They'd talk each other to death!

    ReplyDelete
  165. You know who should have been there? Matt.

    ReplyDelete
  166. The writers are trolling us for sure. What better way to get the stans frothing at their keyboards than to tease, poke and throw shade on us every episode.

I used to think it was just really bad writing, but now I'm sure it's on purpose. Look how they made a pretty universally hated character like Bonnie, the most chanted for comeback by simply ignoring her for a bunch of episodes.

And yes melting that ring was definitely about Stefan.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Maybe luke's traits are messing with his head and he wants to get rid of them.

    ReplyDelete
  168. 'Trolling' - perfect term! I too used to think things like that were accidental, but after 5 1/2 years, it's impossible not to see a pattern. You have to admire their commitment to the cause though, they just don't stop.

You got me with Bonnie though - i haven't thought her absence might be on purpose.

    Those trolls!

    ReplyDelete
  169. That's what I think to. I guess he will start to feel guilt and he won't like that.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Vampires actually do go to the toilet. Vicky once said she had to pee and she even wondered why since she was a vampire then. And I think Stefan was the one who said that all body functions work normal as long as they drink enough blood

    ReplyDelete
  171. I guess it was because they did the same thing with the sun in 5x22 when Damon promised Elena he will make it back to her. And with that kiss he really made it back to her.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Hahahaha I just had to think of Buffy when there were two Xanders and Anya asked if she could spend a night with them before they put them back together. That's how i would react if there would be 2 Kais

    ReplyDelete
  173. I still think her memorys will return once she really loves him again. Alaric used the moment Elena fell in love with Damon as a trigger to erase all her good memorys. So if Elena falls in love with Damon again it brings back her memorys

    ReplyDelete
  174. Elena didn't give him shit for being there for Caroline she just gave him shit for not checking if it really worked before letting Caroline give her mum vampire blood. And she is right about that. They should have stayed a few hours longer and compel the doctors to run some test before leaving and doing the same to Liz. Stefan even thought it was to easy but instead of making sure he just told Caroline what she wanted to hear.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Well you keep hope alive for me then, b/c iI'm over it.
