  1. AWESOME Twist/Cliffhanger Ending!!! It's Gonna Be A Great Episode Next Week! I Never Saw The Twist That Watson Is WORKING For The Rapist Coming o.O #TheBeginingOfTheEndOfKitty #ByeByeKitty

  2. Nice to see David Valcin pop up on another CBS show.

  3. Why do shows keep telegraphing who the villains really are by hiring known actors and then underusing them until the denouement. The only possible reason for someone like Stuart Townsend to be on the show was to be revealed as a very important player. Don't get me wrong --- I love Elementary and its cast and think next week's episode looks to be the best of the season so far. And Sherlock, the usual Sherlock, would have been all over the hand clue that Kitty gave him at the morgue. So I suppose this all leads to Joan and Sherlock being partners again since the insurance company job will not be around much longer. At any rate, really looking forward to next week's episode and true evil emerging from within a Wall Street suit. And where all this will leave Kitty.....

  4. It's definitely a weak point of shows especially procedurals... They did it in an episode last season(with Garret Dillahunt.)

Some shows play with the casting though...such as when Bones cast Robert Englund as a creepy teacher...who turned out not to be a killer(just a creppy acting teacher.)

  5. I KNEW WATSON WORKED FOR THAT SON OF A BITCH, SHERLOCK BETTER BUTCHER HIM!!!!!!!, until he begs for death an then slit his throat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Solid ep!

But I wised they didn't have that guy as the rapist - it's too cliche. I thought the writers were smarter than that. Really hope the story with him will be different.

KItty was so much like the old Sherlock in this episode. And look how mature Sherlock was! Really interesting to see how this plays out next week - especially since we see Sherlock going rogue in the promo.

WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR SO LONG?!?

  7. Even me not knowing who this Stuart Townsend person is could see that guy was going to be the rapist a mile away.

  8. What's with the Beginning of the end of Kitty and Bye Bye Kitty hashtags? Is that actually a thing people are hoping for?

  9. First of all awesome episode. Second of all this is kind of stupid, Watson moves on and they make her boss the bad guy. And why do i think by the end of next episode Watson would be back in the brownstone and Kitty will be gone for good.

  10. Loved it, but did it feel a little bit familiar to anyone else? Like this exact plot was the basis for Jonny Lee Miller's run on Dexter?

  11. Indeed. It's just so typical of procedural.
Ophelia Lovibond's acting largely made up for it, though.

  12. Townsend was cast as the original Aragorn in Lord of the Rings, but Peter Jackson made the casting switch to Viggo Mortensen late in the game.

  13. I was just going to write the same comment, its always so obvious who the bad guy is when they have a guest star!

  14. Despite it obviously being the Insurance guy due to the casting and the fact that its a 2 part episode and the other guy was found too quickly I did enjoy this episode. I really love the Kitty, Joan and Sherlock relationship and I hope she stays on the show. It just works so much better than S2 did with Mycroft getting in the way.

  15. Occasionally it will just be a red herring when he is given more to do, but when they do not use the actor except briefly all the way through, then you know what is happening because why else hire him for such a tiny part. Happens over and over on American TV. When I watch British shows I do not see it as often because they have a tradition of having several well known( to British audiences) guest stars in an episode - I suppose it has to do with what they pay guest stars on British shows as opposed to work on US shows.

  16. i'm confused...i like the character of Kitty and i think it's working great within the show

    ReplyDelete
  17. yes this analogy crossed my mind too. i wonder if Jonny Lee Miller has a weird sense of deja vu about it

    ReplyDelete
  18. actually writers never really hid the fact that Gruner is going to be the main villain, because in original book the man who hurt Kitty was named Gruner too

  19. I'll bet he does. Especially considering someone on tumblr tweeted him to ask.

But Showtime is owned by CBS, so maybe the sharing of plots was intentional.

  20. yes people are waiting for kitty to leave

  21. idk i never really liked Kitty but even i felt for her in this episode. but still i'd like kitty to leave the show

  22. I am not. For me she has revitalized the show and quite frankly has been the best thing about Elementary in a few episodes this year. I am surprised by how quickly she went from annoying to crucial for me.

  23. I bow to your superior knowledge. But, in general, I was talking about how it happens so often on shows.

    ReplyDelete
  24. of course it happens, everybody knows that noone would hire inexperienced and unknown actor to play such an important role

    ReplyDelete
  25. As am I. She's been a good addition to the cast.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Why? She's been the most exciting thing for the show in a while. I thought the show was getting really stale last season, and I hated how much Mycroft was in it. Kitty, for me, has made the show interesting again.

    ReplyDelete
  27. yes she made it very "interesting" with her boring character and splitting up the iconic duo. not so much lol

    ReplyDelete
  28. That's too bad you haven't enjoyed her character or her arc. You're definitely entitled to your opinion. But for me, she's made the show better with her presence and added a better dynamic for the show.

    ReplyDelete
  29. yes of course, especially ratings show how she's adding the "dynamic" to the show lol

    ReplyDelete
  30. doesn't matter. sadly but her storyline became a death sentence to the show

    ReplyDelete
  31. Again, your opinion, which you are entitled to, but I still disagree.

    ReplyDelete
  32. and how is this my opinion? ratings' decrease isn't my opinion, it's the fact lol.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That's not what I was referring to. I was referring to you thinking her storyline is a death sentence for the show.

    ReplyDelete
  34. jeez don't you get what i'm saying? her storyline IS the pure death of the show, because the show is on the verge of cancellation. i hope now you got the idea

    ReplyDelete
  35. I do understand what you're saying. But I don't agree that her storyline is what is killing the show. Sure the ratings are a bit down from last year, as they were from season 1 to season 2, just as they do for most shows. The ratings aren't that bad, especially with the show being closer to syndication, and they bounced back up a bit with the 2015 return. I feel bad for the people who jumped ship because of 1 character. But it is hardly anything to say that she's the absolute death of the show.
